Woman was rude upon check in, was given attitude about specifically requesting room on the bottom floor (I came with my disabled child and requested specifically online while booking) room was clean but crazy hot. Ac was crap. Someone was smoking weed in a room near by and my bathroom was filled with it. I wouldn't have cared but again I was here with my child in a NONSMOKING ROOM. The offices way to rectify my situation was they told me to "close the bathroom door". I offered to tell the neighboring room myself. But they didn't like that idea.
it's almost 1am, my child has already been woke from the heat once. She has long medical testing tomorrow then we have a 3 hr drive home.
Miserable stay, I will ABSOLUTLY NOT return. Edit to add: Bed bug bites on my baby's face and arms.
Upon check out lady was very nice… unfortunately her kind "I'm sorry" doesn't fix how bad this experience was.

Nice people, great service and my truck was safe outside. We enjoyed our stay there.

First, the positives: Robert, Denise, a new worker with the first name that starts with N and others treated me really well. I'm sure I looked questionable at first with my bags but the moment I showed my CP card and said I had reservations… all was well. They even upgraded me. The room was nice and spacious overall. Great, comfy bed. Slept well. Fun having access to the pool. A few suggestions regarding a few less pleasant aspects: the day I arrived I could not get hot water. I am not terribly picky and handled the cold water. I mentioned it casually later and it was recommended I wait for the hot. The next day she was right. I just had to let it run a bit and the hot water finally came through. I had hot water the rest of the time. I would mention it to guests early on during check in so other, pickier guests Don't get more upset than I was. I wasn't bothered much. The pool felt and looked a bit grimey. I felt comfortable enough swimming in it, but I wondered if there is more that could be done to make it more inviting. I do realize it is old a wear and tear is expected. I enjoyed swimming and grateful for it. Just see it as an area of possible improvement. Finally, I wish the breakfast had just a bit more like fresh fruit, etc. What was there is decent but extremely limited. Also, the coffee felt as though it is tightly rationed compared to other hotels I have stayed in. I wish the waters and such were purchasable with card, too… not just cash.

Good rooms and nice ppl, Wi-Fi doesn't work all the time but other than that's its not so bad.

The people in charge here were incredibly nice on our visit but they are also obviously struggling with being in a tough part of town (weird interaction with non customer trying to use phone). The room was fine, but obviously older and not in greatest shape. We never planned to use pool, but it didn't seem well kept and never saw anyone use nor clean it in three days despite visually in need of straining. That said, the place is a great deal if looking for proximity to both downtown and university areas. We used it as a sleeping base for nearby attractions and got by fine but it is not a spot to hang around and relax.

While driving cross country I had to pull off in an emergency due to a gnar storm and flash flooding in Albuquerque. After three strikes trying to find a place to crash, I called and bobby was the friendliest dude and host. He offered up a killer selection of food spots and just had great conversation in him. My room was clean and well kept. Would definitely stay here again.

Clean rooms, "Robert" at the front desk is super nice. Great location an easy access to the freeway.

I've stayed with this EconoLodge a few times while on business in Albuquerque. While it looked dated, the rooms are simple and clean. Front desk staff has always been nice and accomidating.

I checked in to the Econo Lodge on 817 Central Ave. During the time my TV broke and wasn't fixed for almost 24 hours later the first time I told the GM Kelly and the second time a front desk agent Yvette. > > The first night the people in 136 were loud and cussing as well as the last night. I noticed the maintenance man in the room and I told the front desk lady Denise and she told me that her and Robert live on property and pay rent. > > On the last night I discovered a cockroach on the floor, mold on the bath mat and the bed was horrible and had blood on the mattress was old and bowing in since the sheets would not stay on I saw the stain. Which I included pictures > > I went in to talk to the GM and she would not personally talk to me I was scolded and sent back to my room. Denise said "She will not talk to you if you don't go back to your room. When I talked to her she was rude and disrespectful to me she talked over me and made excuses for the problems. And treated me like these problems were my fault > > I have worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years and I have worked for other brands like Best Western and Holiday Inn Express and never would have treated a GUEST like that. I have already called Customer Service on the 5th of April and again today there was supposed to be a 72 hour solution and there.

I love Econo Lodge, it’s always my go to hotel. I was a little worried about this one because I had heard that the hotels on Central were a little sketchy but not at all, the staff was friendly and kind. The rooms were clean and I felt safe, nothing sketchy!

Very happy with my stay here. Very very nice and clean employees were very nice. Very pleased with my stay here. Mircowave n fridge were clean. The room was very nice and clean. Worth my stay and close to shopping center hospital and resturants.

Great staff, (Bobby) he was very helpful and courteous. The room was very clean, very comfortable. Very nice big king size bed and lots of pillows. Can't leave out they the room had a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge! Great amount of space we didn't feel cramped at all. Very much worth the price. They had free breakfast too!

Rooms are clean, pet friendly, outlets seem to trip a breaker with the appliances in them such as the microwave and fridge.

The rooms were nice. I think it's good for a one-night stay because downtown Albuquerque wasn't very nice or friendly.

My boyfriend and I stayed here during a very difficult time for us — — his father was dying of heart failure at a hospital nearby. Each night, we were able to come home to a clean and comforting space. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind and catered to our every need. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Great value for money, continental breakfast included, nice breakfast and the staff couldn't do enough for you, from the maids to the hotel staff, great experience and not far from central Albuquerque, reccomend.

Nice clean room off central. Close to i25 and close to hospitals and downtown Albuquerque.

The bath tub was clogged and the air conditioning to high noises during the night. But for the price and the local, all the more was nice and clean.

All the motels along old route 66 in Albuquerque are lousy and this one is too. It's kind of out of Breaking Bad which was shot next door. As far as safety goes, this one isn't. There are all sorts of street people milling around at night, pounding on your door at 4AM (seriously it happened). This is not a safe location. I was here for a meeting and coworkers were with me and they all complained. I was in Rio 2 weeks ago and even though the Brazilians warned us constantly of the danger, this part of Albuquerque is worse. That being said, for this part of Albuquerque and this price range, this motel is OK. The room was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. Would I stay there again, if I could avoid it, I would try. If I had to stay in this part of Albuquerque in this price range, then yes I would.

OK, but I could be better as I stayed in other Econolodge and they are quite better, minimal no hairs on the beds.

Dealt with the kindest staff after being hassled at a five star hotel about a security deposit. Arrived to this location and I was greeted with a smile, given service and was quickly given my room key. All this after driving in from El Paso to Albuquerque. This is my permanent hotel stay from now on everytime we travel to Albuquerque.

The room was clean, but the bathroom was outdated and somewhat dirty. The tub and sink did not drain well, and filled up quickly when used. The pool was out of order when we were there, but the front desk said it was only for a few days. Breakfast was the typical waffles and cereal. The ice machine said out of order, but when I asked the front desk for ice they said it worked, which it did.

If you just need a convenient place to sleep with no frills, this is a good place for that. It's right off I-25 on Central Ave. So it has good access to UNM and Downtown. It's a traffic hotspot, so you might have some trouble getting into the parking lot. Rooms are clean, for the most part. The chair in the room corner had an interesting stain in it's upholstery, and the blanket smelled of tobacco in our non-smoking room. Other than that, the bathrooms, floor, pillows, and other linens were very clean. The staff were friendly. It was alright; and if you're just looking for a good night's rest, this is a decent place for it.

Convenient location near the highway and friendly staff, but cleaniness of room left much to be desired. The room had a slight smokey smell and the linens and towels had someone's hair on them. The door to enter the room also seemed in need of repair, as it took a great deal of force to close completely.

Much better than the more expensive hotel we stayed at the night before. I did not sleep well or I would have rated higher. I am really not sure it had anything to do with the room. I would stay again.

Great great place! Loved it, the restroom and the room are super clean and comfy, they got internet and Directv service and room service, I definitely enjoyed my stayed. Best of all, it's located in a nice area.

Centrally located, close to restaurants and downtown. Attendant went above and beyond, looking for shaving kit on Sunday night, all pharmacy's were closed and he gave me his own spare.

It is very clean and comfortable, despite being an older hotel. Staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful. We are staying during my father-in-law's hospitalization at the nearby University of NM Hospital. There are good restaurants close by, and it is centrally located to the downtown district.

It's ok. I've stayed here twice. My first experience was great. I didn't have any complaints. The second time was embarassing. I told my wife it was a good CLEAN motel for a good price. When she got under the sheets she started itching. She got hives on her legs. When I got under the sheets too, I started itching as well. We checked the sheets and there was animal fur all over and drool. It was gross. I had to go and get new sheets. I recommend you check the sheets. The room smelt like pee too. They definitely need to make some changes on the cleanliness.

Great room for a great price! Sheets smelled a bit odd. My largest complaint though is that at the breakfast they have a fridge that has the milk in it. It also has small bottled waters and is literally situated in the middle of the continental breakfast (waffles on one side, cereal the other). There is no sign on them at all, and when we took one and started to walk out, the front desk person yelled at us that those are $1 a piece! While this is an outrageous price for those tiny Sam's club water bottles, it was more upsetting that I was made to feel a theif for something that is clearly their fault.

Its a great location. But the service was bad an they give discount for hospital patients. In our case we didn't receive. The room looked nice on the website. This was our first time stay.
So I give this place a 1/2 a star it doesn't deserve even that. So I'd gave it a 1 for the free Wi-Fi. Thats bout it.
I wouldn't stay there I'd would pick a different place to stay.

I would rate with three stars. We had a good sleep but the smell of the room was not the best. We were located on the second floor in Front of the pool that we didnt use. Service was okay.

It was very clean, nice, and comfortable.

Was here just to pick up a friend. It seemed nice enough, and across from a fairly swanky hotel, but still located on the border between a bit of a seedy area and a nicer area. If the price is right, it's a handy place to stop and convenient-ish to UNM, nob hill and downtown.

I booked with Priceline and had the first experience of having to pay extra for more than 2 people. I have two kids and often book on Priceline and always manage to get a foldout or two doubles and never pay extra. This place says "sorry you have only paid for a bed for two people, any more is extra". I arranged on the phone to get two queens for an extra $12, but when I got there, no record of that. All rooms have two queen beds, but you only get to use one if you have two adults. Depending on who answers the phone you pay 10-20 more for the other bed. Don't expect an extra key as well, you get one only and might be lucky to get another if they have it, I wasn't lucky, no extra key available. I asked for a late check out, as my wife was in the hospital, just finishing surgery and I had my kids and we needed an extra hour or so. Sorry that will cost you more. Regarding breakfast there is cereal, cheap muffins and waffles, not a single piece of fruit or eggs, or bagels, or anything else that you would call healthy. The bare minimum that could pass for breakfast. I watched the maintenance guy flick his cigarette on the pavement next to my vehicle as he walked by it, then went into the office to get his coffee, obviously not giving a crap about leaving butts all over the place. The place will never see a dollar from me again.

Very pleasant, clean rooms, indoor pool and a great free breakfast. Free Wi-Fi that could be used on multiple devices. Within walking distance the Old Town. Fantastic value for the price.

In spite of reserving a SMOKING room (which I can prove, thanks to a saved email) my son was charged $50 for smoking in the room I reserved with my Choice Rewards Points. The hotel refused to reimburse the money until after I contacted Guest Relations. In addition to the $50 charge, the bank assessed a $36 overdraft fee. The bank refunded half of the fee, but the hotel REFUSES to rectify the situation. It might only be $18 at this point, but right is right and wrong is wrong. I would not trust the management of this property at all.

One of the worst hotels ever! The people at the front desk were rude and inconsiderate. We did not stay at this hotel because we wanted to we stayed here because money was tight and my family member was in the hospital. We had three people staying in the room and they would only give us two towels we would ask for more and they would ask why. Really it is none of their business, also one of the days they just hung our dirty towels back on the rack! WOW! Also our stuff was moved every time we came back to the room, it was as if our stuff was being looked through. I would not recommend anyone to stay here, the price may be good but the service is horrible and the lady at the front desk needs to learn some respect!

Great Motel! Had a great experience with this motel. It is walking distance to new modern restaurants that have opened near downtown Albuquerque. The staff was very helpful and were very knowledgable about the town. The room were squeaky clean and had a lot of amenities. I felt the value for what I paid for was amazing. Wireless internet worked like a charm. Highly recommend this motel.
