Everything is great regarding the hotel except the trains that blast their horns as they rumble by every hour.

Hotel was beautiful & room was very nice. Rods Steakhouse & grill was amazing. But not happy that the hotel put a couple next to a bunch of families w/ screaming & unruly kids next to us though & had nothing to say or didn't help with our issue of noise & slamming doors all night & early morning! it ruined our relaxing getaway weekend celebrating our engagement!

My daughter’s wedding was there last weekend and it was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and the space was absolutely stunning can’t wait to see the professional pictures. I would highly recommend. The food and atmosphere were amazing.

Our "Staycation" was simply awesome! Since we had to cancel our normal Spring Break plans we settled on a staycation overnight with the kids. Could not have been happier with every aspect of our visit! Lots of straightforward information regarding Covid and all policies we're definitely enacted throughout our stay. The Madison Hotel is always an enjoyable experience but to be able to enjoy the pool and other amenities in a safe manner was just so relaxing and relieving! We swam in the indoor pool — which we basically had to ourselves — for the entire afternoon and into the evening. Once we cleaned up we went to Rods — one of the restaurants located at the hotel — They have combined the menu at the moment with the tavern located on premise — perfect for us! Our meals (adults and kids) were superb! Finally, a shout out to Tyler at the front desk who was knowledgeable and very helpful! Another fantastic stay at The Madison!

The Madison hotel is absolutely beautiful! The hotel itself is amazing, my kids refer to it as a castle! The lobby is gorgeous, the rooms are beautiful, there is so much attention to detail! I highly recommend this hotel for whatever your overnight reasons are. The staff are wonderful, the food is amazing, and the hotel itself is just extraordinary!

It's a really nice place other than Easter brunch. I will never recommend it for Easter! The food was buffet and horrible. It was over cooked and nothing special. For $290 dollars without tip and alcohol for four people, it was very disappointing!

The Madison Hotel was the first and only venue that my Husband and I looked at. We fell in love right away with how beautiful the Conservatory was. Throughout the planning process we did work with different Catering Staff members, but each one knew where we were in the planning process and returned my emails and phone calls with answers to any of my questions. Joe was our maitre de the night of our wedding and was absolutely amazing! We got married in March and there was a snowstorm earlier in the week. Looking up and seeing the snow on the roof of the Conservatory was such a beautiful bonus to our amazing day. All of our items that we used for centerpieces, signs, and cars were all gathered up and sent right to our room so we did not have to worry about getting anything either that night or the next morning. The food was incredible and the wedding cake and ice cream bar were a huge hit. I 100% recommend The Madison Hotel for someone's wedding! 5 stars across the board!

Quirky, non-cookie cutter hotel. Friendly staff. The decor is great. Room was a bit musty, TV was from 1990, and the night I checked in there were two weddings, no parking spaces, and over 700 people at the hotel.

In desperate need of a decor update in both the lobby and rooms. The furniture and decor have easily not been updated since the late 1970's. The staff was very nice, but the cleanliness and lighting within the rooms could use improvement. Also, if you are staying on a weekend expect noise to be going until late since the hotel hosts multiple weddings.

I was there for a two day meeting. The staff was very helpful and the hotel was comfortable. Great bed! The meeting room chairs were extremely uncomfortable since I was in the same chair for two days.

The rooms are large and they are always available for early check in midweek. The breakfast is ample and the restaurant and bar scene are surprisingly vibrant with great options. Stay here 4x a year for board meetings and while they have undergone some renovations to update, they try to keep guests away from those areas and service is generally exceptional.

My son got married here July 22, 2018 ~ they Catered to us, making sure Everything Was Great ~ and It Was. I highly recommend it.

The Ceremony was beautiful, The cocktail hour was amazing ~ food and the area where they had it. The reception was drop dead gorgeous. The room that we stayed in was absolutely beautiful they made sure everything was perfect in every way shape and form. Do you entire hotel is drop dead gorgeous I highly highly recommend it.

Wow! What a delightful gem of a historic hotel. Beautifully decorated and maintained. From the friendly check in to the delightful room with eye socks and chocolate pieces on the bed, to the wonderful atrium in the back, everything was delightful. The steakhouse restaurant was superb and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was quite satisfying. This would be a perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway. A+

I would have given 5 stars but the Wi-Fi was horrible while inside the room. Go to the lobby or restaurants and it was great. Besides that everything and I mean everything else was great. The front desk staff was kind, and very fast check in. Red Dogs was a very nice place. The rooms was clean and spacious. Maybe update the TV but not a big deal. Breakfast was great and I really like the lobby area. Lots going on at this hotel but definitely worth the stay. I'll be back!

Beautiful place with really great service. The room was nice clean & to add a sweet touch it had orange flavored toiletries in bathroom. Breakfast was a little crazy because they had a huge wedding party. Otherwise it would have been really cozy to eat in the lobby, or outside on the patio. Definitely I will stay again!

Love the look. Pool chilly at first but probably in the 70's. Hot tub hot but doesn't have massage jets. Seems very clean. Room nice. Bathtub needs some love (caulk all coming off) & uncomfortable to soak in. Had a huge towel which was great to see but only 1. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate offered 24hrs a day by the entrance.

I was attending a wedding in the hotel. I called to book two rooms for Sunday, the day of the wedding, whoever answered the call was impatient and quick to be done with me. I check my email and she booked the wrong day. I called back and corrected it. I called again closer to my arrival and asked what time check in was. I was told 4:00. I explained that I was attending a wedding there which started at 4:00. How could I check in and attend a wedding at the same time. I was told to call the morning of arrival and ask about early check. However, if I wanted to cancel without penalty I had to do it 48 hrs. Before. I waited a few days and called again, got the same answer but this time I was told that early check in was first come, first served, if I got there at 2 and there was a room available I could have it. I asked how I was expecting to get ready if I were rolling the dice for a room. She told me that guests who were dressing for the wedding were coming in the day before. What kind of customer service is this? Did I need to tell this girl my life story of why I couldn’t stay for two nights? I told her I was going to cancel the rooms bc of this ridiculous policy. She said “okay. ”

The room I had in The Madison Hotel was beautiful. Very clean and large. The soaps and lotions smelled really good, they were citrus-y. The breakfast was good, I had a bagel with cream cheese, a few pastries, and tea. The location was perfect, 10 minutes away from the bars and restaurants. We went to The Laundromat and Iron Bar, it was pretty close.

Lovely restaurant for a formal family meal. The staff was excellent, attentive and made sure we were satisfied throughout the meal. I would recommend it, probably not a place you go to weekly, but definitely for events or special occasions.

Staff mostly quite unkind and unhelpful (with a few exceptions), room dark, bathroom not clean and with leftovers of predecessors in many places, hotel very old-fashioned style (country house style), large complex with many large events (weddings, …), Usually a lot of hustle and bustle, easily accessible by car, far out of the city center (nothing within walking distance), car urgently needed was called ten minutes after posting the review by the hotel manager and urged to change the review …

Very Nice hotel with very nice accommodations. I was there on a work trip and enjoy the opportunity to get to come back and relax at the hotel. There are a lot of great food choices in the area in Morris town as a whole is a beautiful city to enjoy in Northern New Jersey. There are plenty of other options out there but you will never go wrong with the Madison Hotel.

I was here for a professional event so I didn't get to explore much. The hotel is old but very nice. The bed was really comfortable. I had lunch at the pub and the food was great, portions were large and price was good.

Currently at a wedding and waitstaff could not be more annoyed to be here. Our waitress didn't want to clear dishes and rolled her eyes when I asked for tea instead of coffee. My husband grabbed a water pitcher so he didn't have to keep asking them to fill his water glass and they angrily took it away from the table. The wedding and venue we're gorgeous but the staff seems like they don't want to be here. At all.

Over the years, my experience in this hotel has always been good and there’s much to like. The rooms are clean and the beds have always been comfortable. Pillows were comfortable and had different firmness that made it nice. The temperature of the room was easy to manage and adjust quickly. Coffee was made early in the morning with snacks and coffee in the room was fine. Customer service is outstanding. The restaurants in the hotel are exceptional. Rod’s Steakhouse and GK’s Red Dog Tavern offer a nice range of options with hospitable staff that are very friendly and aim to please. There is much to love about the Madison Hotel. The people make it enjoyable and strive to please.

Wonderful staff. Very helpful in every way. The wait staff was incredible. We were at the Madison during the New Jersey snow storm recently. They could not have been more accommodating.

From a wedding photographer point of view, this place is stunning! Lots of amazing background options for photos inside and out. It's been a while since I captured a wedding there but I thought it was beautiful. — Out of the Ordinary Photography.

The wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. It has a great romantic ambiance if you seat upstairs. They had a live piano performer downstairs that you can hear in the atrium of the second floor. We ordered the Chateaubriand medium rare. The order comes with veggies and mash potatoes. It took a while for it to come out but it was worth it. The wife wanted to seat in the train car but was closed for a private party. It seemed a little tight so the upstairs is recommended.

I will start by saying the only good thing about this hotel is the very nice people that work there. Also, the options for the continental breakfast were good. Unfortunately, those are not enough reasons to give this hotel more than 1 star. The room was filthy and falling apart. The bathroom fan hasn't been cleaned in MONTHs, the ceiling had obvious damage, the bed and pillows were horrible and desperately needs replacing. The pool wasn't working but listed as an amenity. There is a sign that they are renovating certain rooms but based on the shape they're in, this is a few years too late. The price for the room is completely outrageous for the shape this place is in and the amenities they don't have.

Although I have never stayed at the Madison Hotel, I have been to the Steakhouse attached to it multiple times. The food was very good, albeit expensive. The overall atmosphere was the highlight of my time there. Definitely a very cool place if you're willing to spend a little.

I had a company Xmas party and my company put us in a room for the night. It was very cozy and clean with pleasant hotel staff. Breakfast is complimentary and it was okay. There's a pool and gym there too. Overall I would recommend.

Took my mother here for a special dinner. Louis our waiter was wonderful cordial and professional. There was a slight mistake and he rectified it immediately. A most memorable mother daughter dining experience for years to come. Thank you GK and Louis!

Beautiful grounds and very friendly staff. Love the location and convienience. The rooms are clean but do need to be worked on. The wallpaper was peeling back and the ceiling had terrible stains in my room. It made it feel a little run down. Also, request a courtyard view room. This stay I was placed in a room facing the train station and it was noisy.

Attended a wedding there. The place was nice. The dinner was pretty good. I ordered steak and it was very tender. The cocktail hour was ok. It could have been a little better. Overall the experience was a positive one.

Went for a wedding. Venue is gorgeous. Cocktail hour was unimpressive. Pasta dish was mushy, roast pork loin dry. Main course beef portion skimpy and it seemed as if the staff was either inexperienced or ill trained. Seemed to be a lot of things being dropped or broken.

Went to a wedding here. Parking wasn't an issue once we realized we couldn't park in the transit lot across the street. The hotel itself seems massive. The ceremony and reception areas seemed nice.

Had my nephew's Confirmation lunch here at Rod's Steak & Seafood Grille. Nice sized portions and the steaks are very good. Very friendly staff too.

The place looks nice, everyone I pick up from there had always said the please is fantastic. I'm an Uber driver so I go there a lot to pick people up and bring them to the airport. Everyone seems to love the hotel.

Charming boutique hotel with so many small simple touches to make your stay enjoyable. Staff is well trained to provide hospitality, clean, great location, free Wi-Fi and all the amenities without all the frills… and trying to nickel and dime their customers for small things which I really appreciate. Rooms are clean, however not updated or modern at all. I stayed here a total of 4 business trips and have enjoyed each stay. Thanks Madison hotel for your hospitality!

Loved this hotel. It is right next door to the Convent NJ Transit train station and right across from a Catholic Church. The hotel is very nice but the rooms could use updating. The TV in our room was an older box style TV and the carpet had some lines in it. However, the room was clean and comfortable. They had a nice included continental breakfast with lots of options. We stayed here for the ease to jump on the train to Penn Station to spend time in NYC. Excellent location for that. This hotel has lots of wedding receptions. I would stay here again.

Hotel is very nice if not a little outdated which most might find as it being a classic. Me and my fiancée stood for our anniversary. Room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Furniture was old. TV looked like it was from early 2000's. Found hair in the bathroom which was unsettling and the hotel and room itself had a musty/mildew odor to it. The biggest downside was the fact that it was wedding season and each night we stood there they would blast music till late hours into the night. So if you want to sleep early forget about it. Music was so loud it shook our whole room. Very disappointed and had to call the front desk twice. Complimentary breakfast was very small so we ate out mostly. Only plus side was that fact that we got it at an okay price and very last minute. Don't always trust the reviews.

Very pretty hotel. Kind of hard to navigate but still gorgeous. We were there for a wedding and we stayed over night as well. Ceremony was beautiful and the food was also pretty good. We went to the restaurant after the reception and it was way over priced for drinks. ROom service knocked on our door at 9 am the morning after the wedding which was annoying. They also were snippy with the groom when he was taking a while to leave the room earlier the morning of the wedding (he stayed 2 nights). The line for breakfast in the morning was super long, mostly because they only had one toaster that took forever.

I can't say enough good things about The Madison Hotel. They are absolutely pros at running large, amazing banquet events. My first correspondence with Sara Maurer was prompt and professional, and the Conservatory basically sold itself when we went for a tour. When Sara retired, I was nervous as to who was taking over, but Elise Munc immediately made me feel at ease. She was so friendly and personable, and genuinely seemed to be excited to help me plan my wedding. She was so patient in answering all my questions and last minute changes. On the day of my wedding, Elise checked to see how everything was going, and our MC, Carolina Callejas, was absolutely amazing. Elise's and Carolina's attention to detail was wonderful, which really helped because I sent a lot of specific instructions and pictures on how I wanted things set up. Elise promptly responded to emails and didn't miss a beat. My husband and I also really appreciated that they were both amenable to odd and detailed requests. Everything went perfectly the day of! Carolina kept checking on us to see if we needed anything, and even set aside food in our suite from the cocktail hour since my husband and I missed everything due to pictures. Throughout the night, Carolina moved everything to our room, so we didn't have to worry about losing anything or cleaning up. You really couldn't ask for more or find fault in their service. One amazing thing I also wanted to mention was the Madison Hotel's sensitivity to allergies.

Tracey and I were totally happy with the entire staff's manner, the quality of food prepared by the chef and kitchen staff and, of course, the decor and ambience of the conservatory. A special thanks to Tim for always making us feel comfortable and taking care of every detail — — all done quietly and superbly. We highly recommend The Madison Hotel for a special occasion.

My family attended a wedding reception The Madison Hotel yesterday, 10-7-16, and had a fantastic time. The Conservatory was absolutely beautiful. Our cocktail hour food and dinners were delicious. We can't say enough good things about The Madison Hotel. Fantastic wait staff and bar tenders. We highly recommend The Madison Hotel. Can't wait to return!

The guest rooms, restaurants, and auxillary rooms are great! Check ahead of time to see if your room will have a microwave or mini fridge, as mine did not. The continental breakfast is disappointing for anyone who actually eats breakfast. No where to sit and poor selection of food. Otherwise a great hotel.

Location is convenient, rooms were nice; the mattress was soft and comfortable. Being located next to a restaurant was very convenient. The continental breakfast was nice, though the only hot food available was toasted bread/bagels. Overall would stay again!

Wonderful place for an event. Lovely spacious rooms and elegant decor. Service was outstanding. Lots of on premise parking and so many hotel rooms to choose from. Our event (friend's daughter's wedding) was in the Arboreteum room which was so beautiful. Highly recommend you consider for your next corporate or other event.

I've been to the Madison Hotel for two separate weddings. The rooms are quite nice, the venue itself is gorgeous, and the staff is very friendly. The food is very good, and the drinks are top notch. Both events were memorable, in no small part due to the beauty of this venue.

Beautiful hotel that handles a large amount of weddings very well. For the price, I was less than satisfied with the rooms. Ours had no mini fridge, an ancient CRT television, smelled a little musty, and our faucet was loose, leaked water all over the sink and was overall of poor quality. Our bed was also quite old and lumpy. The restaurants on premise serve good food but vastly over priced, even by hotel food standards.

Attended a work event at The Madison Hotel. Some aspects of the facility are impressive (The Conservatory), while others are disgusting (some of the carpets look the they haven't been cleaned in years) The staff were polite and helpful. The food was mediocre. One of my colleagues ordered sea bass, and commented that it tasted like they had used a microwave to prepare it. I found the meal to be average for hotel restaurant food.

We went there for the restaurant Easter buffet. The food and drinks were delicious. The service was prompt and very courteous. I would like to go back to the restaurant to try the regular menu.

I was quoted one price when I reserved the room, however I was charged a higher rate at check-out. The hotel exterior and lobby area are picturesque but the rooms are mediocre. The tub finish was peeling and stained. The door paint was chipped while the wallpaper was dingy and tattered. The carpet was worn and the bed was lumpy. Additionally, the television was inoperable and the walls are paper-thin!

The hotel is absolutely stunning! All the employees are amazingly helpful, and the hotel is kept super clean. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone for whatever reason they're looking to get away. It's a but pricier than most, but totally worth it!

Very convenient, located in the Newark Airport vicinity. Airport Shuttle was reliable, the work time a lot. For its location, prices are very reasonable. Network good. To make me happy, they let me in the morning at 7: 30, checked in, and usually check-in time is at 4pm. Thank you!

Our winter wedding reception at the Madison Conservatory was gorgeous, and the event proceeded relatively seamlessly. Catering Manager Tim MacHale was a great resource and was highly responsive to our initial inquiries all the way through final preparations. Our guests also greatly enjoyed staying in the hotel for a few days prior to the wedding, and the honeymoon suite was spacious, quiet, and lovely. Our maitre d’ Carolina was an angel—she anticipated every aspect of final pre-wedding setup, offered solutions, and maintained a cheerful and pleasant demeanor in each of our meetings. The cocktail hour food was spectacular—so much variety! Our gluten free, vegan, and Hindu guests were accommodated and had a variety of food choices throughout the hour. Dinner was a little less flexible (a reasonable part of opting for a winter package deal), but I really appreciated the ability for all guests to order table-side instead of having to indicate on their RSVP which entree they’d prefer (who remembers what box they checked 2-3 months ago anyway? ). As far as the event flow, we had our ceremony at a church in Basking Ridge, rushed through some photos (with our spectacular photographer Lindsey Zern—check her out! ), then lined up and entered the conservatory for the reception. Only a few details went amiss—we didn’t want the attendants to form and arch and let the DJ know, but the Madison staff still instructed our attendants to make an arch.

This is for a survey: The Madison hotel was okay. I enjoyed drinking coffee in the lobby. The rooms were fine. There was nothing separating the hotel from any other hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, and the service was excellent. Had dinner in the conservatory and it was delicious. Would definitely recommend. Not too far from the center of Morristown.

I was at the hotel for a wedding on Oct 31st. It was brisk out but no matter where I was in the hotel it was always very hot. Also, my room key didn't work. I confirmed with the front desk that it was the right key, but it still didn't work. Other than that, the hotel was really pretty and the food was delicious.

Good for a business trip or one nighter but hotel needs updating as much of the interior is dated. Staff were excellent tho.

Nice rooms and the wedding was pretty well done. The bar closes early in the hotel which was a huge negative but the worst part of the hotel was the night manager, she was HORRIBLE. She acted like we were being an inconvenience to her watching movies on her computer when we asked for help getting into our room when we locked ourselves out. Locking ourselves out was obviously our fault but she was VERY rude and acted like we were out of line for coming to the front desk and asking for help getting back into our room, I guess her netflix movie was too important. We were very put off by her and disappointed because overall it was a good experience but she was just so horrific its hard to get past the night manager's service and demeanor.

Everything about this hotel was perfect. We arrived at 10pm and still were able to have one of the best steaks of my life at Rods steakhouse, their in house restaurant. Every last detail was taken care of to make our stay enjoyable. The staff were also very courteous and were able to accommodate our every need. I HIGHLY recommend.

I had always dreamed about having my wedding reception in the Conservatory at the Madison Hotel, and when my fiance and I got engaged that dream came true. We were able to work with everyone at the Madison regarding blocking hotel rooms, choosing food and appetizers, decor and setup, and overall planning of the wedding. Every single person that we interacted was truly exceptional in helping us plan and deliver a one of a kind wedding reception. They were so flexible, patient, kind, understanding, and professional as changes arose. The Conservatory was absolutely gorgeous for our wedding reception it was more than we could have ever dreamed of. One of our favorite parts about our wedding reception was the food. It was delicious and there was something for everyone. All of our wedding guests raved about how good the food was, and even some of our guests took home doggie bags. My personal favorite was the ice cream sundae bar. Since all of the staff at the Madison are so professional the service was outstanding. Every aspect of our reception went off without a hitch, and everyone felt that they were in such good hands. We would highly recommend the Madison Hotel for any event, and a big thank you to them for making our day so special! Erin and Evan Chaney.

The hotel itself is beautiful, and the complimentary breakfast is really something. They even have Chobani yogurt! The room is gorgeous but it smelled like someone may have been smoking in the room and some sort of air freshener was used to cover it up. There must have been an excessive amount of air freshener used though because the smell was so thick in the room that I actually tasted it all night long. There is no gift shop in the hotel, which is really unfortunate since the nearest store is about 2 miles away. So, if you forget your deodorant, hairbrush, etc. You have a 2 mile drive to get one. The bartender was kind of rude and he didn't know how to make simple drinks, like a Mai Tai or a Seabreeze. Two very popular drinks. Lastly, there was one thing I thought was a little tacky. When I woke up the morning I was leaving, I found my bill had been slipped under my door. Really? I just thought that was extremely tacky for such a fancy hotel. I would definitely stay here again but I'd make sure I didn't leave any toiletries home and I would ask the front desk to hold onto my bill until I checked out.

Came here for a work event. I had no idea this place existed in the middle of suburbia! From this outside, it kind of looks like a castle. Inside felt like I was transported back in time (haha). Lots of antiques and big furniture, dim lighting. The ballroom we were in was on the small side; it maybe fit around 100-150 people? The food itself wasn't too bad, but it also wasn't the best food I've had. Cute desserts though.

Big family weekend spent here with over 60 people. They designated a room for all of our meals and events! nice staff! rooms are nice.
