My uncle had reserved 2 rooms, one for his family and one for myself and my family. These were reserved as 2 Queen beds for each room. This reservation was made in January. Our stay was from June 26-28, so plenty of time in advance to have this accommodation met. My uncle arrived first, only to find 1 King Size bed and a sleep sofa that was unsleepable (felt like you were sleeping on just the springs). After finding this out, my Aunt was very unhappy to say the very least, she spoke with the front desk to voice her displeasure over being charged for a room with 2 Queen beds and not receiving it. The staff explained that "they were overbooked" and could not offer another room. So, apparently it is okay to just give away someone's room who had booked well in advance, to whoever they felt they needed to and everything would be okay. So, the way to resolve the issue in the hotel's eyes is to just bring a small little cot into the room and that would make everything okay… UNACCEPTABLE! Now, myself and my family arrive… to find that AGAIN, that there was not 2 Queen beds, as was reserved, but 2 Full Size beds. My family of 5 is not fitting into 2 Full Size beds. So, to not cause a problem and complain, my wife slept with 2 kids and I myself slept with 1 kid. This made for very uncomfortable sleeping situation for my wife. Apparently there was some type of race taking place this weekend in the area near this hotel (we saw the racing crews in the halls, breakfast and lobby areas) so, they had obviously chosen this as their place to stay over the weekend, no problem. Saturday night when we are coming back into the hotel, my wife is walking in carrying my youngest kid who is asleep. As we are walking into the hotel, there is a large bag with cases of alcohol sitting on top of it, which we had to walk around as we were entering. There is a large group of the racing crew who were completely intoxicated, being loud (as again we were a family walking in with a sleeping child). Very bad impression when you first enter a hotel, to have to walk around cases of alcohol and a bunch of drunks just to get to the elevator. Then later, I tried to call the front desk on multiple occasions to speak to someone and no one answered the phone. The only good thing that I can say about the hotel is that it appeared to be very clean. I expected more from a Holiday Inn Express, won't be back.
