Price was okay, room was clean, the place could use a remodel, but is serviceable.

Do not let the outside deceive you. The rooms are huge. And tastefully decorated. There are mr coffees not just a tiny one cup at a time coffee maker and real glass mugs. Something I sincerely appreciate. If you're a old movie fan, the wonderful host once worked for the Von Trapp Family from the ' Sound of Music' fame. (and which is about 30 minutes away. ) There is a kind of run down bar next door that had 2 dozen motorcycles in front, however, they could not have been more respectful. Each one took off as quietly and safely as possible. We did hear kids running around above us late night, but kids run. If you stay here, venture less than a 1/2 mile to see 2 gorgeous silos at the traffic circle. They're both painted by a very talented artist. One looks as if Sam Elliot posed for it, the other, Carl from Walking Dead. Do not pass Deer Run Motor Inn.

Very nice place. Older but nice. Always clean room supplies and everything and the owner RICH is the Nicest guy you will ever meet!

No coffee for coffee maker. Walls are paper thin.

The location is great the rail trail is across the road, local restaurants and shopping are within reason. The motel it self is dated and old. Upon arrival it smelled musky though the room appeared clean. The door that divides our room from the other inside was thin enough so we could hear what the other room was watching. The room was like a normal motel room with the bare necessities. They might want to wash the blanket on the bed more often since we found what looked like oatmeal (hopefully) crusted on it when we pulled it off to examine the bed. Yes we have worked in the hospitality industry before and tend to know what to look for.

Our stay was ok. The room was large and decently clean, but more basic than I expected for the price. A drip coffee maker was provided, but no coffee filters or coffee were supplied. Also, no hair products or hair dryer were in the room. Our room was hot for January (over 80F according to my husband's watch) despite the thermostat being turned off, which made it difficult to sleep and stay hydrated. When I brought up the issue with the owner, Rich, he told me to open the window. He seemed like a nice enough guy, but didn't seem to particularly care about the temperature of our room. The walls are incredibly thin, which made it difficult to fall asleep while our neighbor's television was on, and made us feel incredibly guilty that we were up and getting ready around 6 AM on the weekend. This place is alright as long as you are just looking for a bed and bathroom, and can handle some cigarette smoke smell. I'm reluctant to return.

Had an excellent experience at Deer Run Motor Inn, where my brother and I stopped for a night in civilization from our hiking trip on the Long Trail. (Note to all hikers: this is a very hiker friendly place! They have a hikers discount! ) The owner, Rich, is a truly incredible guy. One of the most generous and affable people I've ever met. To illustrate: we were asking him about options in town (Jeffersonville, very cute, one mile away) for dinner, and, seeing we didn't have a convenient way to get there, he tossed us the keys to his truck so we could drive in ourselves. That didn't end up materializing, however, because he followed that offer up with an offer to just eat some of the spaghetti he had just made with his buddy and right hand man, Tim. We sat in his kitchen and ate a delicious meal, all for free, and listened to his life story and told him ours. To me, that's the kind of hospitality you just don't expect to find anywhere in the world these days. So go to Deer Run, say hi to Rich, and tell him the Silverman brothers say hello. You'll learn all you wanted to know about the area, have a great sleep, and meet a real peach of a human being.

It's not a Ritz Carlton however, the beds were new, firm and comfortable. The water is nice and hot for an endless relaxing shower. Their is a HUGE wooded picnic area for grilling and pet playtime. The owner (Rich) is a wonderful man. Everyone there treated our dog like part of the family. If your looking for the ultimate pet friendly lodge, THIS IS IT.

I had a great stay at the DeerRun Motor Inn in the beginning of September. Rich, the proprietor, was a very friendly fellow and extremely welcoming to a Long Trail hiker like myself. He was accommodating in every way, even giving us coffee and teaching us where all of the great spots around town were. I honestly have never been to a motel with so much personality and that was so clean. Great experience.

My husband can stay fir free as long as he didn't. Get caught taking to me n who has pep live there for years a decade really! If ur into the get thing go on there n I no I got proof n I'm about to show it my hubby stole my car money n useing drugs n he went n hung with the owner n staying free two months lol anyone he helped that's y n all the staff n drunk druggies Lisa the housekeeper can't clean yoi room but u she woo for a fee n drink n it a dump old run down dump the gay owner won't put money n beds n it should b burnt down.

My friends and I have stayed at the Deer Run twice now. The second time was better then the first, and I'm sure the trend will continue. The staff welcomed us open-armed both times, and they are very very concerned about your quality of stay. The owner, Rich, is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and loves meeting new people, sharing conversations and telling stories. For us, this aspect really multiplied the quality of our stay as it is amazing to hear what people have to say. We WILL be back, and look forward to it. This place is very economical and is well worth every penny. I have never been treated so well at any facility, and I'm sure this service is not an isolated incident.

I've stayed at this motel twice and had a pleasurable experience both times. I find that the motel to be clean and the staff to be friendly, especially Rich. Thank you for your hospitality!

Shortage in rooms at the resort pointed it's to this gem. Fist steep in the door I was greeted with the pungent odor of cat urine. The smell didn't abate in the room. We were forced to purchase candles. The sheets were stained and full of burns. The bathroom was a total nightmare. Left the shower feeling dirtier. Avoid it like the plague.

Great location. Great price. Not fancy at all with décor left over from the seventies. The owner is lovely. You are quickly booked into your room. He even sent me off with a cocktail to bed. Wonderful hospitality! Thanks…
