This is my fourth stay at the Inn. Always cozy. Shovel Handle Pub is fun and had good food also.

We got married here back in 2018! We love it here! We love the area! The staff is super nice and accommodating! Don the owner is the man! Whenever we’re in the area this is our home away from home to stay!

Amazing Inn and fantastic owners and staff! We love this Inn and our planning our wedding here next month!

I stayed here a lot as a kid in the late 80’s. Brought my “ person “ recently in march to have the Black Mt experience! I will always love this place, even if we didn’t have hot water, and they turned my beloved game room to a hair salon! Disappointed. Covid is weird. Still dealt with an excellent staff person! Really miss the game room!

Unsafe:
Iced over parking area very difficult to get from car to entrance
No one to call for assistance
Entrance Door does not work (close or open) properly. Therefore every time the door had to be slammed shut
filthy:
Scum, etc in sink drains
dust everywhere (lights, closet, blinds, mirrors)
Couch, chairs, bedspread smelled. Not sure of what but totally disgusting.

We only stayed on night but it is a wonderful little in.

Charming, quaint, & beautiful. Amazing, friendly staff and a very comfy bed!

I had an incredible experience at Whitney’s Inn! Late night/after hours service was ace! I wasn’t able to check into my room during the allotted check-in time before they closed, as I was photographing a wedding and was a little preoccupied. Late-night help came to the rescue and I was able to get into my room at the end of it all peacefully.
This service in general it was an absolute dream! I really hope you come back, whether it be for work or for pleasure! Thank you so much!

I enjoyed the wedding Aries very nice they did a good job.

The property was quaint and picturesque. Our kids had a lot of fun in the pool and at the pond. (The fact that kayaks, life jackets and all fishing supplies were provided was a pleasant surprise! ) We also enjoyed the fire pit. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The suite was perfect for a family of 5. It was a good size, and very clean. It included a mini fridge and microwave. The breakfast was excellent and they were able to accommodate the food allergies in our family. We also enjoyed the food and live entertainment at the pub.

We stayed midweek. The Inn is lovely and comfortable. The room was prefect! The staff and owner treated us like royalty. We loved the pool, the grounds and breakfast. I highly recommend Whitneys Inn!

It was an a wonderful place to stay. The staff is amazing. The only thing I recommend is they should have coffee available by 7 am. Most restaurants dont open up before 8 am. 4 mile to the first DD.

Each room is unique. Cozy but comfortable. The wedding venue is great.

We got married here August 11th, 2018! It was amazing! The service and staff are unlike any I’ve seen! Feels like you are home, renting out the property for the weekend! Don is an amazing wedding assistant and coordinator! The experience was everything we hoped for and more! Many guests commented that it was the best wedding food they have ever had! And I completely agree! Would absolutely recommend for your wedding if you are looking for a romantic setting with hospitality like no other!

Had a wonderful stay at the Whitney. The staff went out of their way to help us with food since we were traveling with our 19 month old Samoyed. I can’t thank them enough, it made our stay much more pleasant.

Adorable mountainside inn. Comfy rooms, great location close to North Conway and ski resorts. The Shovel handle Pub is gorgeous and delicious. I very highly recommend this place for any season!

There was a lot to like: The staff were nice, the building's quaint and the surroundings were beautiful, but there were some negatives. The mattress needed replacing a while ago, and a machine of some sort vibrated the building until about 11pm. Their prices are good, but they are not your choice for a good night's sleep.

We've had the pleasure of photographing two weddings at The Whitney Inn over the past few years and they have both been beautiful. For Steve & Lindsey's wedding, the ceremony was in a clearing across the street that was complete with a stone hearth. For Lis & Will's wedding, the ceremony was on the lawn on the Inn in front of a beautiful birch arch. Both receptions took place in the barn, surrounded by hundreds of twinkle lights. The Whitney Inn is a beautiful place for a nature filled wedding. The accommodations and staff are lovely and so professional.

We live in GA but I was born and raised in NH! We have been planning a trip up north and this will be the place we will stay. Their random act of kindness speaks incredible volumes! Haven't even stayed here yet (but will), however they have already displayed some of the most amazing customer service! Well done!

B&B room is good, breakfast lovely and server helpful, just really disappointed as we booked this place for the pub next door, it was shut first night and said open tonight until 10pm but they told us it was closing at 8.30pm when we arrived: should stay open as advertised as we would have come in earlier had we known! Not a great way to run a B&B business.

Pros were enthusiastic service, all of the workers were amazing. The food was good. The property was well kept. Cons would be small things, no extra toilet paper, broken chair, odd hours for food availability.

We stayed at Whitney’s Inn for a wedding and it was a beautiful venue! The views from our suite of the skiing mountain were amazing. And the suites were cute and cozy. The breakfast (which was $8) was delicious and you could tell it was made fresh. The wedding ceremony was across the street and there was a stream that passed by that had a wonderful ambiance. But it got a little loud and I couldn’t hear the JP. I would recommend getting some of those rock speaker things.

Nice place for the weekend. Right next to the small ski resort and a short drive to the cross country tracks. The restaurant was fun and the food was tasty, making it easy to stick around for the whole night. The room we got was very small, with a sink right next to the bed, pretty strange.

Warm welcome, friendly service, cookies and HOT coffee — all during a 18" winter storm fiasco. Whether you are there for a few awesome days on Wildcat or just enjoying the quintessential New England Inn experience … Overstuffed chairs in front of all day fireplace, books and walks galore … Then this is your place. Don and staff could not have been more gracious during our 2 day skiing trip. A short walk to the Shovel Handle Pub and Restaurant and you're in for a treat. Generous portions for any palate served up with smiles from great wait staff — who you may see up on the stage singing a duet with the band. Top notch food and wow, what a friendly fun place. Looking forward to staying again.

I first came to Whitney's as a child in the 1970s and have amazing memories. This is now the 7th year in a row I've been taking my son here. The location nestled at the base of Black Mountain is perfect! We love walking out the door and straight into the chair lift for great skiing. The staff at Whitney's are wonderful and the breakfast is excellent. The rooms are cozy and lovely. Clean and with comfortable beds. We always have a fabulous time here!

Room is awesome! Inn keeper was very pleasant, and the atmosphere is cozy. Would most certainly recommend and return for future stays. The restaurant attached has an awesome layout and decor, although the food is average. Price for the room was well worth it. $118 after tax.

Our stay here was great! We spent one night here after a day of snowboarding on Black Mountain. The woman who checked us in was very kind and gave us some tips about when was best to go to dinner at the pub. We specifically stayed at Liftline Lodge. It was very cozy and room was spacious. The pub was across the parking lot from our lodge, which was convenient. We were given a list of activities/amenities that the Inn offered, but we were too exhausted to take advantage of them. Overall, it was a great experience.

Wedding was beautiful, food was delicious, everyone had an amazing time. Mattress was older than dirt and springs made noise at every movement. Woke with back ache. Lovely place just pack your egg crate pads.

Here for a wedding and it was a great time! Super scenic location and the Shovel Handle Inn was such a neat spot!

Joe was fantastic and very helpful with recommendations around the area. Luxury king was comfortable and the large windows offered a nice view of the surrounding property.

We recently attended a wedding at Whitney's Inn. The setting was beautiful inside and outside. The staff was helpful and professional. The food was great. It was a lovely venue!

Went to the shovel handle for a few beers. There was entertainment, and they were good!

Had a wonderful couple of days relaxing in this beautiful setting. Horses grazing in back and babbling brook in front. The gas fireplace was perfect for our unusually cool summer temps this week. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Joe was so warm and friendly checking us in and fresh cookies and lemonade were greeting us in the lobby. Fantastic blueberry pancakes for breakfast in the dining room. Too cool for the pool but it was clean and pretty. Loved it so much I booked a ski weekend this winter!

Rooms are small and need updating, tiling in bathroom was loose, but front desk was helpful, breakfast was very good, and waitress/host in dining room was exceptional.

Went there for a wedding. Staff was friendly and helpful. Venue was very nice. Perfect for rustic setting weddings.

Beautiful location and very charming! We were there for a wedding and the owners were very accommodating. The Shovel Handle Pub was excellent and very cool with the rustic barn look. The inn is very old and the rooms aren't very sound proof, so you can hear a lot from the hallway. This is the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars.

It's incredible, we attended my cousin's wedding there this past Saturday. The food and service was phenomenal! They definitely pay attention to detail! I can not say enough about the food, the apps were incredible and the steak tips were probably the best I've ever had! Definitely a great experience!

Was the photographer at a wedding here recently and I really enjoyed the venue. The food was very good, I had the Steak Tips. The steak was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The staff were very friendly and the manager also was very helpful and made the experience very good. Located next to the Whitney Inn, the Shovel Handle Pub is a great place to celebrate an event.

Rooms were small with very few amenities. The location was very nice and the scenery was beautiful. The porch was so rotten that my mother-in-law stepped right through it. It was pretty expensive for what it was.

I had the pleasure of being at Whitney's Inn for a wedding this past weekend. The innkeeper was a pleasure and the steak tips, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus was one of the finest meals I've ever had!

Rooms are nice. Staff is great. And aside from outrageously over-cooked scrambled eggs (read: yellow rubber) at breakfast, the food was darn tasty too. We were with a wedding party. It was made abundantly clear to us (by the mother of the bride) that the bartenders had already been tipped and that there was no need to tip them. Even still, the bartenders put out tip jars. This is a blatantly dishonest and greedy thing to do. I will not be back.

Absolutely amazing place and people! We had our wedding here on 9/27/14. The entire process was seamless. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating from day one right to the moment we left! I (the bride) was able to fully enjoy our wedding weekend knowing that Paul and Don had every single thing taken care of! They are phenomenal and I can't say enough about them and their entire staff! Both my husband and I are so very glad we chose Whitney's Inn! Oh and the food was delicious.

Nice Inn, very quiet and nestled in the mountains. It's outside town but not a far drive. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Excellent breakfast included with hummingbirds flying right outside the window. Strong ski lodge and rustic theme. Restaurant was very good as well and set up as a ski lodge.

Just got back from an amazing weekend of wedding fun! My daughter's wedding was at the Inn this past weekend and I can not say enough good things about the facility, the food, and the staff! We arrived on Thursday with the wedding party and the fun never stopped. When we arrived we had a few concerns about the grounds and as soon as they could the staff addressed them and went beyond even our expectations (and we are a very PICKY group). The food was amazing the banquet crew was a pleasure the deal with. I can honestly say that everything exceeded our expectations and I can not thank Whitney's Inn and the entire staff enough.

We just had our wedding at Whitney's and we couldn't have asked for a better place to get married. The owner Don and wedding coordinator Susan and staff made the whole weekend run very smooth with great friendly service a beautiful location and food to die for (thanks Sheamus). They made our wedding the best day of our lives and we can't thank them enough. If your considering going to New Hampshire for a wedding, skiing, or hiking you won't find a better place to stay or eat then Whitney's Inn and the Shovel Handle Pub in Jackson. The best part we stayed for the honeymoon. Simply the BEST.

We haven't been back to The Whitney's Inn since 2003, a friend told us that there we're new owners and they put a lot of money and thought into this historic place. We were so happy when we arrived and saw our room. The pub food was really good, the bartender was extremely nice and the music a little loud but very good. The innkeeper Susan accommodated all our needs. We will be back fro the winter and hopefully ski packages will be available. A special place for sure.
