Come to Boston every month, always try to stay at The Colonnade. This hotel has awesome staff, super friendly, polite, 1st class service. And the rooms throughout are super comfy, not to mention the fabulous views of the front ones. Also perfectly located, I definitely recommend for any new or old time Boston visitors like me.

Beautiful hotel, great location and staff that really went above and beyond to make our stay nice. Highly recommend!

Only stayed one night, but lovely hotel with super friendly doorman who kindly gave me a lift. Clean, spacious, comfortable.

It was quiet and there was a convenient facility nearby and the service was good. Even we were so late checkin though.

I would recommend the hotel although it was no fun when the workers started drilling at 8 am in the morning. They did stop on request until 9.30. Rooftop pool is a blast!

So peaceful and such accommodating staff. Very friendly atmosphere. Roof top pool and bar was enjoyable on a hot Summer day and great for evening relaxation with music after the hustle and bustle of visiting tourist attractions! ♥️ great place to stay!

Not impressed with this 4 star rated hotel. Staff were friendly, but they are in the middle of construction and remodeling and honestly for the price paid, quality is the same as a 2 start hotel. My room wasn't cleaned properly, the TV did not work, bathtub had hair in it, drunk loud people yelling in the hallways at 3-4am every night. The pool did not have any of those lounge chairs they have posted in their pictures. Really disappointed.

We needed to cancel our room because my mother was sick and could not watch our infant child. The hotel staff refused to give us a refund and charged us the full price of $173. I will never make a reservation here again. Piss poor management. UPDATE: a new manager spoke to my wife a day or so after the original altercation and did end up refunding us in full. I am happy now that the hotel made this right.

Super clean property. Staff from bellmen to front desk to concierge to housekeeping to maintenance we're all wonderful. Beds and pillows we're very comfortable. Convenient location. Fantastic water pressure. Rooftop pool cabanas are gorgeous. The coffee machines were not clean and need to be upgraded and the temperature control for the room was limited. But overall great property.

I have stayed here before — consistently good. Great food in Brasserie Jo. Summer roof top pool makes it by the far the best choice for that time of year. Well located any time of year. My only complaint is that there was a very loud party on our floor during this last visit, and the hotel staff was nowhere to be found or reached by phone. That is the only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. Despite that, I would still return, although I will inquire if there is a group staying there for an event and then request a room far away from them!

We booked a premium double room for my family — two adults and two children for three nights. It cost over $2000 and two of the lights I the room didn't work, the room itself was cramped and there were major issues using the pool. There is a small rooftop pool which was one of the main reasons I booked The Colonnade I booked — we'd travelled a long distance he week before from Niagara Falls — and my 12 year old deserved a hotel with a pool. If you are a hotel resident there is no policy to allow you access to sun loungers. Non-residents walk in, go straight to the lifts and occupy all the seating without even paying. This is not managed by hotel staff. On the third day we eventually complained and we received a complimentary drink as compensation. I asked for a late check out and was offered one hour. In retrospect I would definitely have booked somewhere else. Door staff ere fabulous.

Hotels of great charm although the property would need some tweaking. Value for money and great value since in Boston it's all pretty expensive. Great location in a neighborhood with various restaurants and clubs and in front of the subway stop. You arrive from the airport in half an hour and downtown in 10 minutes. Nice pool with rooftop bar for some relaxation.

Nice and conveniently located hotel in Back Bay area. General surrounding area is well kept / maintenance. Metro line is right next to the hotel which is a plus, which make it easy to navigate and convenience. Rate was average, comparing to other nearby establishments, for first few days, but then for whatever reason sky-rocketed (more than double) on the return trip.

I wish I could give negative stars! My friend and I went today to visit the pool, called before hand, but was told the pool was at capacity to non-hotel guest when we arrived. We rode the elevator up with a white couple and both parties knew people already inside, so we decided to try our luck at the door. Despite the many people exiting the pool and open chairs/cabanas we were turned away and the other non black party were allowed in. We asked to speak to the manager Jon who told us to wait and he would check the deck and see if their was enough space to let us in. After waiting he returned 10min later to tell us that there was no point in us waiting anymore, they were not allowing anyone else in. I asked him why then he allowed the couple who came after us to enter and he could not give me a straight answer. I understand a policy of not allowing guest in after capacity! However, this rule should be consistent to ALL guest!

This was our first stay at the Colonnade. We picked this hotel for this particular trip because it was summer and wanted the option of an outdoor pool. When we arrived we were a little perplexed that although there were signs that said valet parking there was only self parking available. Upon checking in at 4:15 PM, and after driving a great distance we were told that because they were super busy the day before our room was not available. We complained that if the room was n…ot available as it should be that they should give us a discount. A young manager than interjected and told us that they had a room ready for us. Hmmmm… We stayed in the king room. The room itself was fine. The bed was super comfortable with nice linens. The view was horrid (nothing better than looking at a Porta potty). The bathroom was extremely small. But overall the room was good, clean, and comfortable. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, brasserie Jo‘s. The prices were very high but the food was excellent. We both had the eggs Benedict. They were cooked perfectly! It cost us $63 not including gratuity for two of us. We immediately went up to the rooftop pool at around 9:30 AM. By that point all of the chairs had been taken and the cabanas were all rented. We were able to find a table over by the bar area which we snatched as quickly as possible.

The last time the renovation in the room for $617 was done 10-15 years ago. The wallpaper is unstuck in some places, in the inscription on the wall marker, the ceiling is yellow, in some places flakes and all this for $617 per night. Such a terrible number for so much money, I have never seen.

Overall, a really great stay. Staff were helpful and courteous. The room was clean and spacious but the view was crummy. They provide water bottles which is a nice touch. There is a fridge in the room. I loved the rooftop pool though the service wasn't great. You may want to sit close to the bar if you are planning to order a lot. Also, try to go early in the day because it gets very crowded. Location is perfect, it was very easy to get around, I think I only used a cab once my whole weekend. I did have an issue with my key card resetting which was resolved but a bit of a hassle as I was locked out of my room coming back from the pool with no id or anything.

The event space we were in was relatively small — probably good for 60-70 people. The food and drinks served after was excellent (sushi, Mac and cheese balls, and mini grilled cheese). Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall property looked high end! Would go back to stay or for an event.

A lovely first class hotel in Back Bay that will not disappoint any traveler. Beautiful French atmosphere with a delicious restaurant, amazing rooms that have every attention to comfort, and, top rate staff who are interested in your every need. Highly recommend the Colonnade for a special trip to Boston.

Absolutely loved this hotel! Amazing beds, perfect bathroom and so much space! Also, the room service was very yummy! Only downfall was that it smelt like someone had been smoking in the room before us.

Come and experience for yourself a taste of the Colonnade hospitality; we did! It was everything it had been 46 years ago on our wedding night in 1972 when the Colonnade had been opened for about six months. Excellence at its best. From the moment you enter the hotel until you exit. Kindness, courtesy, and helpfulness all made our stay a memorable one.

The Colonnade was right across the Prudential Center and provided easy access to the convention center. The Duck Tours was near the hotel and allowed the group to do sight seeing. The rooms were clean and they provided free water bottles. The mini fridge was great to keep drinks cool and the TV had all the basic channels to make sure I didn't miss out on my nightly shows.

What a cheerful hotel. The Old Town Trolley has a stop right in front of the hotel that provides a 2hr tour of Boston complete with options to tour at all 19 stops. The green line T train station stops at Prudential which is exactly at the front of the hotel. Roof top pool, weight room on the 5th floor, it's own restaurant and much more! Enjoy!

I was not very pleased with check in at this hotel. I was also a little upset when check in had processed my payment twice. The accounting department helped me quickly, thankfully. The reason why this hotel is getting 5 stars from me is that the support staff were amazing. I interacted with concierge, bellmen, engineering, and housekeeping and they were all great. The amenities at the Colonnade are great: K cups, water, tea. The toiletries are of very high quality. The sheets and towels are soft to touch. I had to spend my last night in Boston at another popular hotel with my family member, and sadly I felt cheated and longed for the Colonnade.

Great location, great lobby, but certain bad points came out during our stay. There is very little sound proofing. I could clearly hear the family next door to us, clearly heard conversations through doors as I walked past then. Our room was next to the entrance door to the apartments next door, so there was a lot of traffic going through. What we heard at all hours of the day was the open, slam, open, slam of this door. When we asked for a change of room, we were told that there weren't any comparable rooms available. We had trouble controlling the room temperature. It was quite cold in the room despite turning the thermostat up. Even hours later we couldn't feel an increase in temp. There were odd rips in the sheets and the television only worked sporadically (certain channels came in, others did not). Despite all of these complaints, the concierge was great (special shout out to Thomas who was amazing), as were the valets. This is supposed to be a quite nice luxury hotel, but there were too many disturbances to back up their reputation.

Where do I start. The smell if vanilla is strong and hits your sense of smell like a sledgehammer. I booked the room through travel zoo which confused the front desk staff regarding the breakfast and parking. The room was clean. The mirrors made me look really good (kind of fun house optics). I liked the free Wi-Fi. The hallways were dark but well decorated. There was no I've bucket out glass glasses in the room which was slightly disappointing. The Continental breakfast was great. The pineapple was fresh as was all the fruit. Everything that was in the buffet ended up in my plate and was amazing. I would stay here again if the price was right.

Such a beautiful and comfortable hotel. Conveniently located directly across from the Prudential Center — literally across the street. The subway entrance was right outside the main doors and parking was very easy. The doorman was the nicest man and it was really nice to be greeted so warmly coming and going. The room was comfortable, great pillows (I always bring one but that wasn't needed here). Showers are powerful and HOT! Will definitely stay again when in Boston.

A very comfortable and classy hotel. Something old but very well maintained, in an excellent area close to restaurants and in front of a shopping centre. With a Subway station at the door, close to a train eatacion and minutes from the city centre. As for the excellent Servixios.

We had a flawless stay. Unpretentious. Very clean and comfortable. Very reasonably priced. Very helpful staff. Holiday spirt with hot cocoa, candy canes and cookies all day.

Great hotel! The service is great, real nice change from the much less approachable Boston public. The room was very nice, clean, however a little worn, probably needs some updating. The restaurant was mediocre, food is decent but service is what you’d expect from a French restaurant, non-existent. Overall loved the hotel, will definite stay here again.

It is an excellent hotel. Situated in the heart of Boston, all the hotspots are nearby, and those that aren't can be reached by the subway that can be accessed as soon as you take a left while you leave the hotel. The staff is really friendly, the breakfast is great. The rooms are cozy and most of them have beautiful views of the city. I stayed with my parents and my grandparents and all of them enjoyed their stay as much as I did. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is great! Short distance to many shops and restaurants. Staff was excellent and the Doorguys (Bellman) were great in arranging a driver for the group if we wanted to go longer distances. The only downside was that we could not pay for the visit (5 rooms) in one payment. We needed to pay for each room separately and extra $500 were blocked for each payment, $2500 for the whole group in insurance fee. But as I said, hotel highly recommended to anyone!

During check in they told me $100 a night deposit for the stay, I'm staying 7 nights, seemed excessive. Told I was upgraded to a larger room king bed, that's fine room is just a tiny bit bigger then average room. All wood furniture is scuffed, scrapped and ding up bad. This was the upgraded room. Bathroom odd nice. Table chairs are metal and dark wood black leather they are nice but there are multiple huge lamps around table. Bed really worn on one side, bed linings were dirty, black marks on one pillow case the other a reddish Orange color on tip of pillow case. Pulled back sheets a small brown stain at head of bed. Front desk very apologetic, the women who came to change bedding was not. Thr phone hand set did not work only speaker phone part. It's 3 days into the stay currently.

Update, with two added stars: The general manager reached out to me not because of this review, but because of the customer satisfaction survey post-stay. That is important, and they did what they could to make me feel valued as a customer. I respect that, and it was done in the best way possible, and for the best reasons. I truly believe they will act to make sure this doesn't happen again. Please note that they did NOT ask me to change this review, nor do I know if they've even seen it. Really overpriced, with an overpriced mediocre French restaurant. My room had a broken do not disturb button that was never fixed (despite calling the desk), a room that was cleaned despite asking both service and the front desk to leave it alone, a fire alarm that went off in the middle of the night with no indication that it was a fire alarm and no indication from staff that all was clear when it was shut off a few minutes later, and finally a leak in the ceiling dripping onto the carpeted floor. At that point they moved me for my final night to a suite, and acted as if I should be overjoyed to have a night in a large (unsold) room with the same size bed to sleep in (it was already 9 pm). The front desk was apathetic at best whenever I called, except about the leak. Oh, and the rooftop pool was closed for the season (it's in the 80s every day still, with lows in the 60s at night…).

The staff were so friendly and treated my husband and I like we were the only guests there. Very personalized service… and the room was absolutely gorgeous! Made our honeymoon wonderful!

My husband and I came to this hotel after we got married this past weekend. We have stayed at the Colonnade in the past and had a good experience. However, this time was different. Our desk clerk who checked us in, didn't even greet us just yelled "last name? " While I was standing in line. I told her my last name and then when I was directly in front of her she said "last name? " again. I bought the freedom trail package, she didn't explain how to get breakfast or how to get in and out of the parking garage since we had free overnight parking. I didn't want the guidebook but I never received that. She was just not interested and I was put off by the experience. My husband tried to get our room decorated with rose petals (trying to be romantic) and was transferred three times to different people and was finally told to email someone, who of course never responded. He just gave up. All of the housekeeping, waiters in the restaurant, door staff, and other front desk clerks seemed nice and polite. I don't think we will be coming back though. There must of been some event in town because the rooms were $700 (surrounding hotels were expensive too) and it was definitely not worth it.

Although front desk staff is friendly and accommodating, the room itself is lacking in features would be helpful to a disabled guest. There are barriers at the transoms between the room and the bathroom which prevent a wheelchair from passing smoothly from one room to the other. The shower is of poor quality in terms of water pressure, but adequate. The roof top pool is fully accessible from the freight elevator, and was quite inviting in all respects. We expected a bit more for the ~$400 per night rate which was charged. The front desk/concierge person named Jen was very friendly and informative.

I planned an 11 person Bachelorette Weekend out of NY. Joe at the front desk was patient and pleasant, he went above and BEYOND when I probably drove him crazy! Fred at the front desk was great as well! The Colonnade was clean throughout the hotel and our rooms were amazing! HIGHLY recommend staying here! The rooftop pool has limited seating, so my suggestion is if you have a large party inquire about cabanas or get up there early to reserve seats! we sat beside the pool and still had an amazing time, our waitress Katie was there for our every need! I am already planning a trip back with my husband and daughter!

Room 1143 could do with the shower being re-grouted by someone who knows how, half an hour with a grout rake and a fresh batch of grout would make a big difference, such a small gripe. Rooftop pool was really intimidating on first visit (full of young beautiful people). Staff were incredibly helpful, we loved Fred on the main desk he was brilliant. Rooftop pool was great. Location in Boston is perfect for Hop on Hop off tour and Metro Prudential station.

Very nice place. The subway entrance was right outside the hotel which was very convenient… a huge plus, as the 'T' was so easy to use to get around the city. Hotel is located across the street from the convention center, mall, and restaurants. Great neighborhoods behind the hotel made it nice for walking or jogging, or grabbing something to eat at a local tavern, like the Five Horses Tavern. Amenities were average (nice) compared to other hotels, but the rooftop pool was great. A family-friendly place.

Have been staying here for over years and location is phenomenal with great staff an awesome Brasserie and of course a kick ass rooftop pool bar!

An excellent hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. As soon as you arrive you are made to feel welcome from the doorman and reception staff. The restaurant is great, fabulous food (try the macaroni with spinach, truly amazing but a huge amount of food which we couldn't finish! ). The restaurant staff are wonderful and were great with recommendations, including the best wine to choose. Have loved our stay at this hotel and if ever back in Boston, this would be our first choice. Thanks to Padam and Norman on the door/concierge and to Rich in Brasserie Jo. We have truly enjoyed our stay at the Colonnade.

Reviews on Trip Advisor will certainly tell you the same about this multiple four-diamond hotel. Service is great — between communication via email directly with reservations and upon arriving/ checking in. Very comfy bed, though I personally think having 7 pillows all to myself is a bit ridiculus. Pillow Fights however are awesome. If I can score a good rate again during the summer, I'd definitely come back during the Summer and check out their rooftop pool.

I stayed here during the summer but didn't even have time to visit the rooftop, so don't hold that against me. Internet access was pricy, unfortunate considering that the rooms themselves also prohibit any sort of cell phone reception, so I couldn't even use my MiFi to circumvent the reception issue. The rooms are a bit dated, though mixed in upgrades and the hallways are a bit dark, which doesn't fit with the fun vibe they seem to want to portray. All in all, rooms were clean, the front desk was helpful and the location can't be beat, but I just wanted more after all of the rave reviews from friends.

Absolutely beautiful! The rooftop pool was a perfect escape from the craziness of the city. Everyone who worked there was pleasant and helpful. The rooms are a nice size with beautiful views. Centrally located. I would definitely stay there again.

Classy, sophisticated and. Free. The roof top pool offers a great escape from a hot summer day. Nothing makes a girl and her friends feel classier then sitting by the pool with a drink in her hand enjoying the beautiful sunset over the Boston skyline. But a word of warning the pool is 21+ after 5 pm for non-hotel guest.

Colonnade Boston is such a charming hotel. It has a nice bright and modern lobby and the rooms are spacious and clean. I did a check based on a tip I learned from and it passed! Anyway, I had a room with two double beds but unfortunately, neither the TV or Internet worked in my room. After troubleshooting for a while, the manager upgraded me to another room with King-size bed and was nice enough to apologize for the inconvenience personally. Their customer service is great. The hotel is very close to Copley Square and Back Bay. It is definitely in a great location and close to the T. Would love to stay here again.
