Very comfortable, very friendly and a beautiful setting.

Ski in and ski out is great! My son loves it especially when he can go night skiing. Location is great but limited to food options here. Would come back again.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at while visiting our National Parks. The place is gorgeous, inside and out. Extremely well maintained and cared for. The atmosphere is ski lodge; warm and inviting. I highly recommend it!
If there was any drawback, it would be the lack of an elevator when your room is on the third door and your family was at the limit for weight on their suitcases. But don’t let that make you miss such a wonderful experience… just pack light!

The flowers, the food, the ambiance — there is nothing about the Kandahar that isn't 5 star.

Seriously lacking on amenities, transportation, and accessibility if you like to relax in the evenings this isn’t the place for you because their lobby reminds me of a high school house party and there’s no way to block out the noise.

Nice experience from the check-in to our check-out. Nice early meal at the Snug Bar. The coffee was amazing at breakfast. (So important to me) The bar manager was so nice and helped us map out an alternative route through Glacier National Park since the GTTS was partially closed due to wildfires. Definitely recommend a stay here. Clean rooms and comfortable beds… so quiet too.

This place was amazing, I absolutely loved how homey this place was. Also with world class dining whats not to love! My dad was there 30 years ago and he says it was just as good if not better then he remembers it. The beds were comfy, pillows not so much but whatever just fold it in half. Definitely gonna be back soon… From the eyes of a 12 year old.

This hotel was okay. When we arrived to check in, the front desk staff member took a phone call before checking us in; maybe my ideas of customer service are outdated but I thought it went the other way round. The walls were paper thin, as were the ceilings. I am fairly certain elephants were staying above us, elephants that got in at 10:30PM and went to bed around 1:30AM every single night, after dancing the hours away above our heads. The sleep deprivation was a little disconcerting. I thought it might get better after complaining to the front desk but elephant fiestas continued apace. Aside from all that, the accommodations were adequate. Location was lovely.

The road to the lodge is not for the faint of heart. Steep slopes and sharp turns but well paved. Parking is somewhat limited near the lodge but adequate space is available across the road in an unpaved lot. The interior and rooms are well appointed and spacious, if a little dark and rustic. There is a cafe and a bar inside the lodge that serves food as well. The menu at the bar is a little pretentious but the food is good and reasonably priced. The only down side is the lack of elevators in the main building. Four flights if stairs, after climbing the hill from the parking lot, can leave the less physically fit a little winded.

This place was amazing. Came here for valentines day. The room was perfect. We also had dinner here. I can't even explain how good the food was. It's the perfect place for any special occasion.

We will for sure stay here again! A beautiful lodge in an awesome location. Front desk was super friendly and very helpful. Everything was top notch. The ski in and ski out was perfect, rooms were lovely and the breakfast was great. We enjoyed drinks by the fire each afternoon after skiing and headed into town for dinner. What a great lodge!

Love the woodburning open hearth fireplace. Beds and pillows were great. Ski in and ski out is excellent.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Kandahar. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast spread & cookies and hot cocoa by the fire place after skiing. The hot tub is great for soothing tired ski legs. All on mountain dining is within walking distance from the Kandahar, which has a great bar & restaurant on site The staff is really friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return this summer to hike Glacier & surrounding area. Highly recommend!

Great old place to stay. But they have no elevator. Over age 70 packing ski equipment up stairs is a bit strenuous! Beautiful lodge!

If visiting Whitefish Mountain Resort, I recommend you consider staying at the Kandahar Lodge. Built in the style of a ski lodge, it has a great lounge with leather sofas and chairs oriented towards a fireplace that, during the day in the winter, is constantly lit. There is a large outdoor jacuzzi, and if you haven't gotten enough of a workout on the slopes or outside, there is also a fitness room. All of the staff are uniformly friendly and extremely helpful. Your stay includes a continental breakfast buffet that includes beverages, bagels, muffins, yogurt, boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal and cold cuts. When you come off the slopes, you can grab complimentary popcorn, cookies, coffee, tea or hot chocolate. There is a small bar off the great room in which you can also order light fare; if you have an opportunity, you should also try Cafe Kandahar, which is in the lodge, for fine dining. You have a choice of different room configurations; we stayed in a studio with a kitchenette that included a microwave, refrigerator and combination range and oven. The bed was a wonderful wooden sleigh bed, and the pull out sofa was both comfortable and supportive (which was one more extremely pleasant surprise). The lodge is a 5 minute walk (although not in ski boots) from the slopes, and the lodge provides a courtesy shuttle to the slopes.

Awesome lodge! Walk across the street, strap the skis on and go. There is a ski trail that literally goes right to the lodge called Hailey's Run. The lodge is very cozy and nice. My wife and I are here on our honeymoon and we absolutely love it.

Haven't stay here, only stopped by for drinks a live music. It's quaint and cozy. Cocktails are good and the bar is pretty full for the size. Sit on the sofas by the wopd burning fire and Xmas tree and enjoy music with a good cocktail or beer in hand.

This place is quite cozy. The staff are extremely hospitable. I would love to come back every year!

Amazing. Great food. Great cocktails. Inventive, creative and excellent execution. The dining room is intimate and the service is almost perfect.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Each course was spectacular. And the Elk Tenderloins are to die for! I highly recommend the Cafe at Kandahar.

Fantastic resort! Beautiful rooms, good Wi-Fi (important because there is little cell service), and good food/drink options. The cost is a little disproportionate, but you are paying to be on the mountain.

We stayed there two nights. The first night was wonderful, and I would have rated it 5 out of 5 stars. However, when we came back to the hotel on the second night, after ten hours on the motorcycles, we found out that the water heater in our wing broke, so we had no hot water! We had to load up our things and use the showers over by the hot tubs in another wing. Not very convenient! We complained and the management told us they were sorry. They were sorry, all right! A reduction in our bill or even a free drink in their bar would have gone a long way to improve customer relations! We voiced our irritation at checkout time and were again told, we're sorry. I won't be going back there again. Will take my business elsewhere, where they appreciate their customers and show it with how they treat them!

Great place to stay. It would have gotten 5 stars, except for the lack of counter space in the bathroom, and the bad experience we had, ordering food from the bar. After 40 minutes waiting for our food, another couple (who came in 20 minutes later and ordered the same thing) was served. When we complained, the bartender came back from the kitchen and said they had burned our order. To further console us he said, Sh*t happens. That was supposed to make us feel good? We cancelled our order and went back to our room hungry and ticked off.

Cool place with limited summer options. I don't have any complains about the hotel room or staff. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was great. But the village is almost entirely closed for the summer so expect any food options to be a ways away. I didn't have a chance to try their on-site bar or restaurant, both looked great but they were a little fancier than we had been hoping for. Did use the hot tub and steam room. No complaints there either. Overall a nice hotel, close to Whitefish that would be awesome in the winter.

It is located in the mountains, we love nature! It is minutes from Whitefish mountain resort which has a lot of fun activities. We rode the lift up to the top. You have a 360° view of the area. You can see the pikes at Glacier National park and all other mountain ranges. It beautiful, peaceful. The lodge itself is geared toward the younger generation. No elevator, thus the 4 instead of a 5. After an all day venture hiking Glacier, you still have a small incline from the parking lot and then the stairs it you're not on the first floor.

Absolutely a beautiful place for skiing. The lodge was gorgeous and the condo we stayed in was top notch. Enjoyed the heated pool very much after a long day on the slopes. World class skiing too!

The Kandahar offers very comfortable lodging at a great location on the mountain. The hot tub offers a welcome respite after a long day on the mountain. The nook bar is a great place to get an adult beverage and the staff there is very friendly. The large fireplace in the lobby is very welcoming and a great place to relax and unwind with friends. I highly recommend staying here when you are at Big Mountain.

We went to Kandahar for Valentines Day. There aren't words to describe how great everything was! It was one of the top 5 best meals I've had in my life. I can't wait to go back.
