I enjoyed my stay there. When checking in I felt like a guest in someones home, they were polite and welcoming. There is a deposit for those of us who pay with cash, but so long as you respect the room you get it back. The room itself was really cute, we had a brick wall in ours paired with happy yellow walls. There was a cool velvet love seat with a matching bench by the bathroom/changing area. We slept very well in out king size bed, and I was very surprised at how good the pillows were! I enjoyed some cereal and a donut for my breakfast, they do have a few other options as well. I would definitely stay here again if I were in the area.

After a long trip it was so refreshing to find a place to spend the night that not only is charming on the outside with it's Dutch look, but also on the inside! We didn't expect for this in to have as many darling features to it. Our room which was one of the less expensive one's had a full fridge, stove and oven, pans and baking sheets and a kitchen sink, it was like a home away from home. If given the chance we would make this our stay whenever we come through missiouri! So impreased and the staff only adds to the charm of this place!

This place was scary. Should have gone somewhere else, but too tired… about the only positive was lady at desk was nice… rickety steps to go up to room, comp breakfast was in little space as u go in motel, didn't eat there, room furnishings very outdated, and AC very loud… would never go here again.

Room was clean. Had good hot water for bathing. Breakfast could use some better options. I would stay there again, service at front desk was very friendly.

The room smelled, the TV was a a bit glitchy, and the air conditioner worked very slowly. But the room was clean and comfortable and great for the price.

Very nice accommodations. Value for the $$ was great. Would stop here again.

Everything is good! I just don't like the shower. Needs new showerhead. Very comfy and friendly staff.

Key didn't work for our second nights stay. Room had not been cleaned, drains in sink and tub were very slow. By the time water was warm sink was full of cold water. Refused to offer any compensation.

Bathroom a little small and worn and the door didn't close properly, but great stay overall. Very nice and friendly staff. Good location, great prices, comfy bed and plenty of hot water. Didnt have the room available that we wanted originally, but they let us look at a couple rooms and choose one, also took 5% off. Much better than expected for the price. For a couple looking to have a place to sleep and shower while visiting family, it worked out great.

Awesome staff! Great prices, nice rooms with fridge and microwave and comfortable bed. Have stayed here a lot and have never had any problems. They are awesome!

This place is great, we have been staying here a few days out of the week while house hunting for our move into the area. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly and they keep the riff Raff out. We feel safe and comfortable. We have probably stayed 20 days total or longer with nothing but a good experience each time.

While it is a little dated, there have been numerous upgrades. Upon entering the room it had a fresh smell, and was very clean with clean linens, good pillows and comfortable mattresses. The owner was extremely friendly. It was well worth the money!

We visit family in Carthage every year and we bring our 90lbs Black lab/Rottweiler mix dog. The staff is accommodating to our needs and the stay is cost effective. The location is great too because it is central to the South side of town near family, the High school, shops and also not too far from the town square should we decide to go that direction.

Decent place. Pick it up because of the price. Trapped in Carthage because of an accident. Chose Carthage Inn. Staff is friendly. Rooms have chemical scent. Clean. Will try sleep good enough this night. Microwave and a fridge are in. Ice machine is available. No more then 3 stars but it worth the price. 3 stars are not enough, but four stars are too much. If there was not the smell than 4 stars. Good luck@

I gave 5 stars because based on my expectations this little hotel was perfect. Charming exterior and dated interior, this hotel was super clean and super friendly. The beds were extremely comfortable and that is saying a ton since I have back pain which is aggravated by a bad mattress. The price was on point. The bathroom was clean and the WATER PRESSURE was perfect! I would stay here over many higher priced places I have tried. Thanks for having a vacancy!

This is an older motel and very well kept up! We were just needing a place to lay our heads after 15 hours of driving! The room was very clean, freshly painted inside, new COMFORTABLE mattress, linens and bedspread! Rustic setting, very spacious! Family owned and family run! All staff were very helpful and polite! Very reasonably priced! We will return next passing!

My husband and I use this motel several months in the year during our show season. The family that runs this motel are wonderful. The kindness that they showed us was the reason we continue to come back. They always make sure that we are comfortable and are very accommodating. Beds are always comfortable. We stay in motels across the U. S. Weekly and for me a selling factor is whether they treat you with kindness or that you are using up there precious time and these folks definitely made me feel the former and not the latter.

Its a nice room, I like it, the feel of it is nice, but the bed sheets are stained, but it's alright.

Very affordable. We stayed one night there for $45. Room was very clean and big. The bed were so comfortable. Loved it.

We were traveling through and our RV broke down. Our family was exhausted and stopped for the night while we were getting RV looked at by a mechanic. Room seemed ok. While showering that night I noticed mold and mildew peppering the ceiling. Disgusted, but tired with no where else to go, we shut the door and went to sleep. My three year old then found a "spider" which was actually a giant roach. Strike two. I immediately packed up all most of stuff and put in trunk of rental car we had gotten. Then next morning, my husband ran to deal with RV. I tried to let our exhausted children sleep until I opened the curtain and the flood of sunlight revealed a plethora of maggots on the floor. The management offered no apologies. She told me that the roaches were beetles attracted to the porch lights. My husband returned to find us sitting with all of our belongings on a bench outside. He argued for a refund or at least a discount. They would do neither and told him we probably brought the bugs with us. The management is appalling and the fact that my family slept in that horrible place is more so. Stay away.

Reasonable rates and clean room. My family enjoyed our 2 night stay.

This is a private owned Inn; their policies are different than a franchised inn or hotel. Be careful, if you change your mind for any reasons, even within hours, or if you have a death in a family, they still like to charge you due to their policy "Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to scheduled arrival time". No mercy. We recently stayed at this inn to participate in Marian days and got a smoking room because we were not "specific enough", it was not noted on the receipt Smoking or Non-Smoking. The owner claimed that they normally tell the customers verbally. Our family has health problems and reactions to the smell. We even tried to ask for our partial money back due to non-refundable deposit (total was about $480 for 3 days) but they refused. At last, they agreed to pay us back by finding another customer who was willing to pay a little less. We moved on. Suggestions. Best Western (Precious Moment) or Super 8, may costs a little more on off peak season but very worth it, they are new, great breakfast just as friendly and chances are you can get your money back in case you change for your mind within reasons.

Well if your going to Carthage and don't want to spend lot of money on a hotel or motel then this non-chain Hotel is for you. We enjoyed the great staff and the well kept room. The free ice from the ice machine came in very handy for our cooler. We enjoyed our stay and Carthage Inn had a great price and location. And our price was 49 dollars a night tax included in that price. Our vacation was great and so was our stay and we look forward to staying there again soon.

Very accomodating and friendly. We have been coming here both spring and fall since 1999 for 3-4 days each time. Peaceful, quiet and close to the everything you need. This time we took our trip in summer with our 84 yrs old parents. Motel Staff took good care of my parents. As usual rooms were very clean and very affordable. Will recommend anyone who is looking for affordable and nice cute clean place.

This is the only hotel in the US which require non-refundable cash deposit reservation that I know of in the US. It also make customer pay for the whole stay upfront ($450 for 3 days) so there's no back out. Service was horrible — dirty carpet with cigarette ashes, bad smell from lot of cigarette smoking from long ago, tower smells bad with all the smoke. My kid found a coach roach inside the stack of disposable cups Facility is so outdated with malfunction shower water control (water turn to extreme hot or cold every few seconds), frig was not working at all and smelly when open.

I stayed 3 nights in room 105 and I enjoyed my stay very much. The new owner is very accommodating and doing a great job. This is Bavarian style motel and in-room brick was very classic. I hope new owner knows the importance of it and keep the in-room structure as it is. The new owner is planning to covering the bricks architecture with drywall and then it would be just like any other hotels. The only dislike is smaller size TV and I hope they replace with bigger TV as they are saying.
