Booked a smoking suite with hot tub: We drove for about 8 hours and really needed a long dip in the hot tub, a good night sleep, and a decent breakfast. We were thoroughly disappointed. We had stayed here about a year ago when it was Country Hearth Inn and it was amazing. Not so much, anymore. Both of the entire hallways (two floors) reeked of marijuana. Oddly enough, the reception/lobby area did not? Not able to smell in room, though, +++! Room was very clean at first glance, until we went to the hot tub: hairs and some sort of black chips, like paint, was inside. Beds and pillows were both terribly cheap and uncomfortable = awful night of sleep. Two over-shampooed, and still very wet, spots on carpet at foot of bed… stepped in it with both bare feet without knowing just what was there before cleaning and how clean it had been, so I immediately washed feet my off just in case and did not step in that area, again. Night was very quiet, also +++! Right off the highway, but cannot hear any road noise, that I recall. Breakfast is until 9:30, arrived in lobby at 8:30 and the options were little to poor: one blueberry muffin and one possibly banana nut muffin small enough for a toddler, but if you wanted toast… there was plenty of white and wheat bread for that, as for pastries… again, toddler sized, prepackaged honey buns and pinwheel cakes?! Who eats pinwheel cakes for breakfast? I don't know. Maybe you do. This hotel's web page shows pictures of biscuits and a crock pot assumingly with gravy, yet, there was neither of those things. The waffles were okay, at least. If you want any other food choices, you are out of luck. Nearly every place I'd been to would have bagels with jam and cream cheese, perhaps also a small variety of donuts, or streusel, coffee cake, danishes, or croissants. Nope. There was what I'm sure was apple juice, but the "orange juice" was a drink mix; NOT juice. The milk in the refrigerator had ice chips in it, and to me that gives it more of a watered-down cream taste to it. It was fine, though, as I just needed it to add to my coffee. No other juices were available, but their mediocre coffee is an option. For paying over $100 for one night, I expected more in comparison to many other hotels with this chain and others. I would only stay here, again, of it were the very last place available within an hourlong drive. I didn't expect a 5 star hotel layout, but for that much… we could've stayed at a five star hotel and had a much better experience!
