We didn't have time to check out much in terms of the amenities, but the lobby was beautiful, the beds and pillows were the right hard/softness, the rooms were immaculately clean. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in or near Madison without hesitation. When we find ourselves back in that area, we will do the same. Thank you to the amazing staff and management!

Our client, comedian Cane recently stayed here after a performance and had a fantastic experience! The room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet, and the location was excellent. The bed seemed brand new and was very comfortable. The front desk was very helpful in getting us into a king room when we were originally booked in a two queen room.

I arrived late and checked out early in the morning. So I was not able to enjoy the hotel as much as someone who spent more time there. But the most important things were that the staff was welcoming, and the bed was amazing. Linens were great. Pillows were long, firm and comfortable. The carpet was clean. The room was large and had sofa, chair and table. I would definitely stay there in the future.

This is a friendly place with a small town feel. The staff is enjoyable and make you feel welcome. The room I had with my wife was large comfortable and clean. Fridge, microwave, large TV, Air conditioning, large bathroom with lots of counter space. Clean hot shower and even a sofa in a sitting area. It is close to everything but is still a quiet setting. Great food delivery. I give this nice place 5 stars.

Cheap? Sure… If you don’t mind the room next to you doing drugs. Oh and the best part. The bed bugs! Who wouldn’t love waking up itchy and red? Spend the extra money and don’t stay at this disgusting place they call a hotel/motel.

This is my second stay here for 2 day seminar in Mount Horeb and the service has been great. The staff is friendly, professional and accommodating. They take the time to talk to you about your stay and how they can make it better. I highly recommend this Karakahl country inn and will be using this hotel in the future.

The hotel is at the edge of town but it's a very easy drive to the Trollway and other attractions. The room was clean and the furnishings were nice. They were able to accommodate a late check out. Rate was excellent for what we got! We really enjoyed great place quite.

Clean, inexpensive, solid Wi-Fi, mini-fridge and microwave. Walking distance to some good bars and restaurants. Not much more to ask for. Thank you for having us. Recommend for anyone in the area and will be back when around.

We had a great stay at this property! My daughter celebrated her birthday here. Staff was wonderful and went out of their way to make her feel special. Our room was spacious and incredibly clean. My family also enjoyed at this property. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a clean and beautiful property with attentive staff.

We stay at a lot of different hotels and this one deserves 5 stars in every category. Had a great stay here. Went to Madison to visit family. The employees are very friendly, our room was very clean and comfortable, the 12:00 checkout gave us more time to enjoy in the room. They even asked us if anything could have made our stay better when we checked out. We could not come up with one thing! If you are ever in the area I would suggest staying here.

My family stays here whenever we're visiting my sister in Madison. Digital heating/AC unit, heater built into the wall in the bathroom, good showers, and comfortable beds. The one thing I recommend is to bring extension cords. The outlet behind the bed is inaccessible and there is not an outlet in the bathroom. There is a strip extension cord with available outlets that the refrigerator, microwave, and flatscreen TV are plugged into next to the desk.

Clean friendly staff. No pool right now and there are astetic things that need sprucing up. Overall great value for the price! Will return and am excited to see continued improvements!

It was late and I needed a place to stay overnight. I called the motel and the manager was very helpful and I was able to get a room easily. I was surprised at the great price for the for as the room, it was very clean, had air conditioning, and a large bathroom. I enjoyed my stay here and if you are around the area, visit and stay at this place y’all!

Our room was neat and large. We really enjoyed the amazing service from the managers and the beds were very comfortable. The prices were affordable and just in our price range! The fridge and microwave were very clean and spotless, so we were able to heat and store our food too! We are definitely planning to come again!

Hands down the best place in town! The employees are so sincere and kind. The prices are also very nice. The room was very clean and tidy. The employees try very hard to make sure that the customers are enjoying their time at this hotel. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel because it's truly a great hotel. I stayed one night and just wanted to sleep… didn't turn out well. (move the curtains behind the ac shield. If you don't, your room won't cool down, and it gets HOT in those old rooms). Vending machines were a minimum stock, just candy.

I saw one bug in my bed… Place looks like it was once the best hotel in town but hasn't changed since. Reminds me of the Brady bunch inside. Getting rather run down.

This Hotel Reminds me of my younger days. Very cozy and well kept. The bed was so comfortable I fell asleep instantly. I personaly love the design an architecture. My host was a very pleasant fella who exhibited the kindness of his culture and hospitalty of the greatest of inn keepers… Do try this hotel some time if your travels bring you here. It is quite close to Verona and Epic… find savings, and real comfort here…

Disgusting place! Rooms are messy and not vaccumed, sheets are stained, building is falling apart, saw mice running around the building and parking lot, our room had no smoke detector, laundry room is disgusting. Stay at your own risk!

Our accommodations were simply not as advertised on the website. We chose this hotel specifically for its charm and for the indoor pool that my friend's kids were excited to swim in after our arrival this evening. As we drove up, we saw nothing even remotely similar to how the place looked on the website. Charm is not to be found here; it's plain to see that upkeep has not been a priority for this property. We checked in and found out that the pool had already closed (at 6 PM! ) and wouldn't open again until after we checked out in the morning. (Why lie about your pool being out of commission? ) For two women taking young children on a short adventure trip, the atmosphere of this place is more 'adventurous' than we bargained for. There were several men hanging out in the parking lot after dark, smoking and drinking, and I felt less than comfortable walking past all of these people on the way to our room. I wish we had read *all* of the reviews on both Google and Facebook before settling on this place. We were warned after our arrival of the possibility of bedbugs; we searched the room and found none, but I will still quarantine all of the things I brought along until I know for sure I didn't pick up any hitchhikers. TL;DR… don't bother with this place until it gets cleaned up.

This place is so run down and unkempt I literally thought it was as abandoned building when we pulled up. The parking lot was full of trash and cigarette butts. The hallway to our room smelled like cigarettes, Marijuana and old dirty carpet. Through the hotel, which could be totally retro cool if fixed up, furniture was dirty, carpets were dirty, walls and windows were dirty. Our room itself was actually alright. It needed a good airing out and much updating. Bathroom tiles missing, desperate need of repainting, very old carpet, a couple lamps didn't work. But all in all the room was clean and functional. I would never stay there again but it worked for the night.

The description in the blurb used the word "humble"; I would use the word "unpretentious". Our room was huge, clean, and very comfortable. Lavish? No. We were delighted. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Many thanks!

After driving 3 hours from Illinois, this place was a dump and we let them keep the money for the room. We went and got a room at Grandstay hotel & suites.

Price is great, bed was comfortable. Room included a fridge and microwave. Nice and quiet. Got what I wanted for the price.

Very large comfortable rooms. Clean and quiet with very friendly staff. Reasonably priced. It has an older look to it but it was still very nice.

This hotel is dated, I should make sure you understand this right away. Much of the hotel is still very much set in the 50s and hasn't been updated. That said, its clean, quiet, very wonderful hotel. The staff is very friendly and I would stay here again. I have stayed in 4 and 5 star establishments in Denver, LA, and Las Vegas, and this is by far the nicest I have stayed in. Especially at the price.

I stayed here once a while back, and I agree with others in their review. It was cold, unclean, and the managers are paranoid. My son is staying here now with some friends, and they have other long term neighbors who are use drugs. The whole place is a shameful mark on the community.

I just stayed here and now that Wisconsin is getting cold buildings need to be heated but nope not this one! I couldn't believe how cold the office and hallways were I bet high 40s low 50s no joke! And you can see the steam coming off the pool because it's so cold in there, it's colder in there then the hallways so I'm guessing the guy heats the pool but not the pool area it was so cold in the pool area and the locker rooms it's crazy. This is supposed to be a business how do you just decide not to heat the hotel even my room was freezing any hotel I've ever stayed at everything is warm INCLUDING YOUR ROOM! Stay somewhere else drive the extra 10 minutes and stay in Verona you will get a better room, rooms are horrible and outdated, you get about 15 TV channels and the "High Speed Internet" is a joke couldn't even check my email because it was so slow, I'm guessing there's a lot of Wi-Fi "dead zones" I saw Wi-Fi routers and range extenders hanging out of the ceilings in the hallways, not to mention how rude the Manager is and it was expensive! all I can say is RUN! DON'T STAY HERE.

Run do not walk away from this one. Walls so thin that you could hear people in next room at 11:00 pm. Heard cell alarm at 4:30 am and could even hear person pee in toilet a little later and then flush toilet. Carpet dirty and rooms very dated. Bedding and towels dingy yellow. Will never stay here again.

I have been staying at the Karakahl for quite some time now. It has large, clean rooms, good maid service, and friendly staff. It also has a heated indoor pool, pool tables, video games, and a piano to play; along with a washer and dryer available at your convenience. The parking lot has just been re-paved and there is always enough parking close to your room. It is the lowest priced hotel in Mt. Horeb, and is located right in the middle of town. You can walk to Main Street and a variety of food, drink, and shopping establishments.

DISGUSTING! Filthy, smells, and has bedbugs! Stained towels and linen, along with carpeting in room. Furniture is 30+ years old, beds have holes and stains everywhere, and bed linen is ripped. Wifi is lousy, can't keep connected and the guy that runs it is completely rude to a lot of his clientele! Overheard owner yelling at children staying there that they couldn't play outside as it would scare potential customers away, ridiculous! Talked to a few people that are staying long term and they are treated horribly! Definitely not worth the money, and better off going to Verona or Madison.
