We had a very stay for 2 nights. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were quite a few nice restaurants nearby as well. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

I am only giving it a 4 because the room smelled a little bit like smoke, there was some crusty stain on the carpet and the grout was cracking in the bathroom. I was offered a different room but declined. Other than that, the stay was wonderful with pretty good cleanliness and an outstandingly attentive staff. What more could I ask for? There was (unexpectedly) a water slide, which kept my daughter busy and happy. I was also surprised with the variety of breakfast offerings. There was something for everyone. I also liked that I could buy wine and beer at the front desk and it was inexpensive. Hotel is in a great location with many shops and restaurants in the general location. Pretty good stay!

The hotel was alright. The pool area has a huge slide the kids liked. Breakfast was standard Hampton Inn. The rooms seemed smaller than the normal Hampton Inn rooms. They were clean. The clock alarm wouldn't work.

Hotel is clean. Staff is very helpful and very nice. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good.

Pricey, even with a military discount, but oh em gee! Most comfortable bed I've ever been in!

Day 1 We arrived and unfortunately the bathroom was not cleaned. After complaining at the front desk it was cleaned within minutes. Room is nice but if you open the window it's loud (you can hear the nearby interstate). We later found out that there were also some leftovers in the fridge. Complained again, lady at the front desk was shocked and we received 50% for the first night. They promised that the next day everything would be alright. Shower is very good, bed is fine, pillows are not so good. Breakfast on the next day was good too. Day 2 We left at 9 am and went to the airforce museum and then explored Rapid City. We came back at 3 pm and our room was not made. Complained again, second night 50% off. Room was then made and left overs from the fridge were removed. One hour later a housemaid lady just came in our room. No knocking nothing. Thank god we were dressed. That is simply unbelievable! Day 3 Hooray! Today everything was nearly as it should be. We came back at 3:15 pm and the room was made. Only the trash can wasn't emptied and two towels were missing. Finally I have to say that the staff at the front desk is really nice and tries their best. The hotel itself is good, rooms are nice, showers and breakfast are good. But the housekeeping is definitely not good and must get better. Maybe we experienced two really bad days…

One of the better Hampton Inns in the region. Good staff. Ask them to make you cookies if it's late, they will. Really, really appreciate that.

This a fine hotel located near an area where there are many places to shop, including the neighboring Target store. The facilities were in great shape, and the staff very helpful. I did find the hotel a little noisy; for example, we were located near the hotel laundry and the noise from there prevented a quiet experience.

It looks like a small and unassuming chain hotel, tucked away around a corner behind the interstate exit, and it is. But in this case, unassuming is a good thing. The interior is up-to-date and strikes a nice balance between feeling contemporary and homey. Staff are incredibly pleasant, professional, and helpful. The location off the main drag means it's in a pretty quiet spot, which is unusual considering it's adjacent to Interstate 90 and the newly-developed Rushmore Crossing shopping area. I haven't stayed in a room here, but I've been to several functions in the meeting rooms downstairs, which are surprisingly roomy (I didn't expect a basement meeting space to have such high ceilings) and comfortably furnished. I really love coming out here for group events.

There was tobacco chew on the TV stand, mold in the bathroom shower, the shower walls were cracked and hair on the towels. It was gross! The staff were nice but that doesn’t make up for all the negative things.

Needs work. Bedframes stuck out and cut one of our party on the shin. Noise from the swimming pool area was hard to drown out in one of the bedrooms. And the shower head was in serious need of cleaning.

Above average hotel; friendly staff, good location.

A very welcoming environment. Family friendly and kids love the water slide. Parents can enjoy the hot tub while the kids are enjoying the slide.

I was there for an office Christmas party, and had a great time. They had great food/drinks and the staff were very friendly.

Everything was great! The breakfast buffet was delicious and the kids loved the pool! We will stay here whenever we go to SD!

Great service and the prices are unbelievable low. Family suite 3 beds, 2 rooms, kitchenette and plenty of extras like pools, hot tub, bar and food pantry.

We had a room with two queen bed‘s. Rooms were quite small but definitely sufficient for a one night stay. Very clean. Everything in the room was functional. Friendly desk staff. Decent pool area with a waterslide that our kids had a blast on. Clean breakfast area with several options to choose from. Staff did a nice job making sure items were restocked for the breakfast rush.

Good clean rooms. The ones with the wet bar are nice and open. Sits on a hill, so if you enjoy loooong views of the plains, getting a room that faced East is pleasant too.

I really liked the waterslide. This hotel's breakfast was good. Nothing else to say. It was nice.

Hotel was nice, clean, comfortable. Restaurants close by. Hotel offers free continental breakfast, but has nothing for us gluten free folk, except fruit and yogurt.

Great clean rooms. Friendly staff. However wish they would assign rooms based on your hampton inn profile as we always ask to be close to the elevator. Room was at end of the hall which was a good 200 yards or more away.

Got in late, and left early the next morning. Room was neat, tidy, and comfortable. Bathroom well stocked and clean. Breakfast was nothing special but no real complaints. Beds were comfortable — I slept well.

Hampton Inn, Rapid City was our second hotel night on the trip out to our honeymoon destination camping in the Black hills. Very nice accommodations, clean, and great staff. No complaints about our stay, and I'd definitely return in the future if going through the area again.

This hotel is located on a side street tucked behind some other hotels. It takes a second to find the first time. That said it is one of the better of the Hampton Inn brands I've stayed with. My single king room was large and clean. Staff was nice and accommodating. Breakfast is served in the morning and the business center printer was actually functional which is always helpful for me. I got to go visit Mt. Rushmore which is only about a 30-40 minute drive away. Avoid the chain restaurants and eat/drink downtown. You'll be glad you did.

Would definitely come back here again. Great staff and a wide array of amenities.

I stayed in a room with a jacuzzi (which was awesome) very comfortable bed and warm. Receptionist was polite and the breakfast was good.

This hampton is so different from the other ones. It has free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and really nice beds. (Obviously the same as all the other ones). Just what I was looking for.

Two things I would change. 1: move the extra outlets with USB ports to the side table in the bedroom. If I am going to use the desk to do some work, my laptop will have all the USB ports I would need. 2: dimmer switch in the bathroom. Loved the idea of wine, cheese, and other spirits. The hotel is hard to see from the highway, so know where you are going before showing up.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, everything you would expect from a Hampton Inn. Breakfast was very good and in my opinion had a fairly large selection. Pool was clean and the water slide was tons of fun. My only complaint is that this hotel shares a parking lot with a neighboring hotel called the Microtel and the parking lot was packed so parking was hard to find but otherwise a great place for all the Black Hills attractions.

It was pretty nice, but the air conditioning on just the "low cool" setting woke me up in the middle of the night because I was freezing.

The room was nice. The hotel staff was nice and informative on the area. Nice pool facilities for the kids. Did not use the fitness center or business facility. Great continental breakfast, the staff definitely excelled at the breakfast.

What a great visit. I have stayed in many Hampton Inns over the past 15 or so years. I traveled for business on average of 40 weeks a year. This was by far the nicest and one of the beat maintained properties I've stayed in. Everything was clean, the pool was fantastic and the breakfast was well stocked for a continental breakfast. We truly enjoyed our time there. Thank you.

Passing through Rapid City on my way to Montana. Stayed here and it was phenomenal. Everything I could ask for. Clean, great breakfast, and reasonably priced. The service staff were excellent (dealt with Beth and a blonde woman).

Our stay was great. Clean rooms, clean bedding, hot breakfast was great everyday and I like that it changes slightly each day. Pool was a good size with a slide and the kids loved it (so did the adults). My only complaint is that their snow vendor shoulda laid salt because the parking lot was covered in ice and one of the housekeeping people seemed "off" would talk to himself and just seemed downright crabby; I asked him for more shampoo and what not and he was just telling me where to grab it from on his cart… Needless to say I got it from the other housekeeper.

Made reservations for hot tub room. When we arrived at 5 we were told the room was never cleaned so we would need to wait for a hour until it was taken care of (why not clean it when I called to reserve room) front desk woman was rude and acted as if we were a burden to her. Room amazing service sucks.

Bottom Line: bedbugs, but quick to accommodate. We are Hilton brand loyal and as such, our frequent travels have earned us Diamond status for several years. We are currently Gold members. At the start of every hotel stay, I always spend 5 or so minutes checking for bed bugs. We have never found anything and until last weekend my husband thought it was a waste of time. Last night, we found living bed bugs in room 324. We immediately discreetly notified the front desk and she was very shocked and apologetic. She comped us a $25 restaurant coupon and our night's stay. She accommodated our request of a new room on a new floor. My kids slept well in our new room. Beds were comfortable, pillows were not. Room was relatively quiet. My husband and I barely slept a wink we were so grossed out. Our reservation included one more night, but several hours after official check out time, we decided we would rather drive 6 hours home and sleep in our own beds rather than stay here another night. They were accommodating to our late notice check out and did not charge us for that night, even though we were past the deadline to check out. I'm stuck on how many stars to rate the hotel. My internet reading has taught me that even the cleanest, most expensive and fanciest hotels can have bedbugs. That bedbugs do not equal a poorly maintained property.

Room was pretty comfortable, but heaters didn't work correctly. Manager said they are replacing many of them and didn't hesitate to make it right when we checked out. Water slide was a ton of fun for the kids.

Most expensive due to slime filled bio hazard "Water Park" grossest oldest hotel in this entire Rushmore trap. Pubic hair in drain, crumbs and stains on bed. Ask to have room cleaned at check and where told it was fine. "Free" breakfast was moldy bread and broken waffle maker I wouldn't make waffles doe my enemies in.

This hotel is in the perfect location! We stayed here for 5 days and were pleasantly satisfied with the hotel. Staff were courteous, room was spic and span, housekeeping provided us with what we needed and the breakfast was outta sight! We'll be staying here again when we come back to the Black Hills.

Had a great stay at the Hampton Inn in Rapid City. Very clean room, very comfortable beds, good food in the morning, nice pool, etc. Everything was super clean and in excellent condition. We had 2 adults and 3 small children in our room and it worked just fine.

The staff was pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. If we had neighbors, we did not hear them. The appliances worked perfectly, and we were very comfortable. Our children LOVED the pool. It was well maintained and stocked with plenty of big, soft towels. We paid only $16 more than we had paid at a "bargain" hotel the night before, and were very pleased by the improved accommodations. Overall, it was one of the best hotel stays we have had.
