So sad that this is not the Residence Inn anymore. I'm a Marriott girl and have stay at this property for years, and although it's no longer a Marriott I knew the lay of the land. In prior years, I've always used a major credit card and was never asked for a incidentals deposit, but received a call stating that a $150 deposit was required. Upon check in, I was informed that a $250 incidentals deposit was required. I mentioned the original amount and the young lady at the front desk rudely replied, "I don't know who told you that! ". I wasn't comfortable having them charge any additional money so I opted to give them a cash deposit (as they have done in past years) they said they didn't take cash deposits. I reluctantly gave them my debit card and told them they need to change their reservation policy on the website to inform people of this policy as someone may be caught unprepared. The service was luke-warm at best. The room quality has gone WAY down. They are in bad need of remodeling. I had a loft and the following was not up to par: the ceiling fan didn't work, the closet doors were off track, the divider that should have separated the 1st floor bedroom from the living room was gone, the stoppers in the tub were disconnected from the drain and the downstairs shower had a spider hanging out the secondary drain the entire two days we were there. After staying here off and on for almost 20 years, I'm done. This will be my LAST STAY! Oh, and did I mention I own a travel agency?! What a shame!
