Under new ownership. Immaculate, clean, roomy, many amenities! I couldn't believe the size of the kitchen. Full size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, shelving, utensils, the works! Very comfortable bed, lots of comfy pillows, very large and clean bathroom. Nice sitting area. Every room is more of a suite than a room. The pool outside was so clean and the staff was friendly. Highly recommended! (This is an older hotel — not for stuck-up Hilton lovers).

Rooms are pretty great. Kind of like a mini apartment with a kitchen. The bed was pretty comfortable, slept well. Breakfast options were standard, cereal, bagels. There was some ham slices and I've seen eggs on my previous visits. All in all a good place to stop.

The clerk that checked us in was very rude. We didn't know that they charge a $25 deposit for "incidentals" as the clerk called it and when we asked she said if we didn't want to pay it then we could stay somewhere else. The bathroom and sink was very worn and dated. Not very clean with pieces of hair and debris in the corners. Toilet paper almost empty when we arrived. Had to ask for more toilet paper as there was no extra rolls in the room. The breakfast area was gross. Very dirty. We arrived to have breakfast and all the hot food was gone with 45 minutes left of the serving time. They never put any more food out. The grounds were gross. Cigarette butts and litter everywhere. An old pair of dirty socks were left on the ground outside our door when we arrived. The building is in disrepair. The pictures on the website must have been taken when it was new. Don't let the website fool you. A very bad experience. We will not return.

Just needed a place to crash for a night so we were not expecting much. A lil beat up and outdated but still nice.

I have to say, I was surprised by the room. I have not been here in probably twenty years. The carpet was new. The furniture was in decent shape. Overall it was a decent room for the price. So many of the hotels on the 161 corridor have been closed down or are filled with drug addicts/prostitutes. I can honestly say I enjoyed my stay here.

No extra linens, no Wi-Fi, a security officer who harassed us. Not worth it. The only upside is the woman who is charge of breakfast is very sweet and makes that part of the stay the best part.

This place could be awesome! The rooms are nicely laid out, but in need of updating. We had a non smoking room, but it smelled terribly of smoke 24/7. There is no housekeeping service either. It wasn't the worst place I've stayed, but not the best either, I think it was a bit high priced.

Improved over past years. Well lit parking lot. Service oriented employees with smiles. Rooms seem nicer than in the past. Not great but decent enough and clean. Breakfast was okay.

The hotel might look a tad dated on the outside, and be a bit off putting BUT on the inside of the rooms it is gorgeous! The room is very welcoming, and cozy. All of the appliances are relatively newer and super nice to have. Front desk staff were super friendly and made everything easy!

I really like how the rooms are set up like studio apartments. The room was nice, it coulda just been a little cleaner. Cob webs in corners, ect. Enjoyed my stay though.

Inside the room wasn't terrible. I wasn't the biggest fan of the fake hard wood floor, it was just cold and unpleasant to walk on. The couch wasn't as nice as the one in the photos and all of the furniture was pretty scratched up. All of that is easy to deal with. What was the most annoying was that every single time we left the room to go out, we would have to go have our key reset because the scanner on the door wasn't accepting it. Literally EVERY single time we went out and they did nothing about it, didn't offer to change rooms or even attempt to see what was wrong with the door scanner. They just reset it everday time like it was a known problem and didn't care. That being said, the front desk staff wasn't super friendly either.

If ever in north Columbus OH, I would only stay at the Hawthorne Suites By Wyndham. With multiple different floor plans available, king room, 2 bed rooms, and the absolute best suite with 2 floors. Hawthorne is very pet friendly, with multiple grassy areas for that picky 4 legged friend to choose from. Best of all there are no weight or breed limits, all are welcomed. Very clean and while kept rooms. Hawthorne Suite is very family oriented, With tennis courts, out door swimming area, and walkways throughout. With easy access to 71 and 270, this makes getting around a large city more convenient.

Dated. Some exterior disrepair. Not handicap accessible regardless what the web site says. But the rooms are nice. Nice kitchen. Full size stove/refrigerator. Nice bathroom area, sink and mirrors seperate from the toilet/tub.

You do not at any cost want to stay at this place. They will double and triple charge you along with them saying you owe money when you do not, and then they will steal your dog. Do not stay here they have bed bugs termites and roaches.

This hotel is not fit to stay at. It has black mold in the rooms along with bed bugs an roaches. I did tell my friend not to stay but he did called me to ask what to do because his room had bed bugs. His girlfriend and himself had bites everywhere. He said he would never stay at another Hawthorn again. New owners wants to spray rooms themselves and not call Orkin for bed bugs. This hotel needs shut down. This hotel also has prostitutes and drug activity.

Will NEVER stay again! Stayed for one night (Dec. 2017). Hard to locate once off freeway, bed with holey sheets, musty nasty odor, door did not close all the way, molding at bottom of door missing, bed skirt horribly dirty, closet door not hung safely, dirt and dust on floor, mattress was a marshmallow, and mold on tub surround. If I could post pictures I would, as I did take them. Sign out front says newly remodeled and the only new looking thing was the floor. Extremely disappointed!

Very good place, quiet and clean with Porto and privacy.

This place was in the middle of the ghetto there were cops driving by as we pulled down the drive, the staff Questioned everything and the Room was Hi-end crackhead quality. This place looks somewhat OK on the outside but other than that I don't think I'd ever come back here. I don't understand why Wyndham would even want their name on this hotel. The only reason I decided to try to stay here after seeing the neighborhood was because of the Wyndham name. It says Hawthorne suites but this place was very low end and I'm not impressed I'm trying to get a refund right now. I did not even stay long enough to take pictures of the Room but when I walked in it was cold as an ice Box there is paint chipped away On the walls. It may have a few nice amenities and the only reason I did not give this place a one star was because there was at least a fridge a dishwasher and dishes in the room but they were not high end quality by any means. Definitely not worth the disappointment.

Fraudulent charges on my bank account today, the receptionist just hung up on me. Beware. Do NOT give them your information. *update* Spoke with a manager the morning after this occured. After the employee hung up on me and refused to assist me, my card was charged AGAIN. This could have easily been avoided on that employee's end the night before, I am told. But she did not want to deal with it. The charges have been refunded, apologies made. However it will take a few days to get my money back, and this situation has put me into a serious financial bind in the meantime. Overall, my experience with these people has been ATROCIOUS. The manager who handled it for me in the end seemed to be the only person who even cared what had been done to me. Disgusted.

The rooms could use a refresh/remodel. The outside was a little rough as well. I do commend them on the amount of lighting thoughout the complex, it was very well illuminated. It is in an area that has seen better days so it was comforting to come back to a very well lit parking lot and building. Although, the bed was in the top 5 worst beds I've ever slept on. All in all it wasn't the worst hotel I've ever stayed at but also very far from the best hotel I've ever stayed at.

If you are looking for a hooker or drugs then this is the place for you. This is the most seedy rundown place I have ever been. Dont let the pictures or some of the good reviews fool you, this place is down right frightening! My room had a massive bug infestation and it was completely run down and filthy. I went to the desk and they gave me another room which ended up being worse than the first! It wreaked of smoke and was so incredibly filthy, there was NO way I was staying. I immediately checked out and found a Marriott! I only gave it a star because you have to in order to leave a review but truly it should just be torn down!

Big room, but very outdated and not super clean. The linens seem clean and there isn't evidence of an infestation, but the vents are extremely dusty, faucets are leaky, and the door to the room appears to have been forced at some point. There are stains on the chairs and soot in the fireplace, but the couch appears to be new and the beds are decent, though worn and sinking in the center. The facility is inconsistently lit outside, which is a little nervewrecking. The staff is very friendly, and the continental breakfast was mediocre — not bad, not excellent. There is no coffee pot in the room, which is odd, especially with a full kitchen setup. We only stayed for one night so we did not use any dishes or inspect cleanliness of those, but there is a fairly well stocked kitchen if you plan to stay any length of time. For the space and the price, its not awful, but I would not likely stay here again, not would I recommend this hotel to a friend. The entire area seems to be very run down — to get to this hotel, which is more like a collection of little houses, you have to drive past two abandoned/boarded up hotels which is uncomfortable. So maybe for the area, this is a nice place. It is close to the highway, so its convenient but its also loud. Three stars… Because two is a little low, but really I'd probably rank this as a little lower than three.

The rooms are a bit dated but very spacious. The breakfast area was kind of small and the choices limited. Not very wheelchair accessible. Lots of stairs.

What do I qualify with 5 stars because it far exceeds the cost with services.

I thought I would give this hotel another shot thinking maybe the first visit was just due to short staffing… Not the case… I checked in on a Sunday and was assisted by the front desk clerk who was really nice although I can't remember her name… She gave me a key to a room and I was set. Once in the room I realize the toilet didn't flush and the sink was spitting black stuff. No problem they were quick to move me. The next room was like an upgrade fireplace included but this room had no channels available on the TV. For the amount of money I spent I thought TV was the least I could get. Front desk suggested I reset the TV and trouble shoot with the cable provider… So not my job. I requested to be moved and was questioned again as to why. But was then given another room just above that one the third and final move fingers crossed and all. Not much better with the toilet overflowing with every flush. I can say the staff is amazing and I love the area but the hotel its self needs some work.

As we were looking for the hotel, we passed a few others that were extremely poor looking. One of the hotels near it was boarded up. Already, we did not have a good vibe about the area. Once we checked in, the room we had was not like the pictures online. The door for the king bedroom would not open easily if shut. We had to run into it forcefully to open it. The closet door was completely off track and just sitting up against the other closet door. It was clear they hadn't vacuumed well. There was a clump of hair in one bathroom and dead bugs in the other bathroom. One towel had a hard substance stuck to it (maybe candy? ). Overall, it was completely misadvertised and really just nasty.

Rooms were nice and clean decent location, food close by, and biggest thing they are pet friendly.

Wyndham should be ashamed their name is on this place. Just plain awful in my opinion. The ceiling fan wires were exposed as was the wire on the alarm clock. I left a wake call request when I was at the front desk and I saw her write it down, but I never got the call in the morning. I picked up the phone to call the front desk and the phone didn't work. When I told the man at the front desk about the wake up call, he said he never got the request and then acted as if he didn't understand me when I told him about the phone not working and the exposed wires. When checking out, the day front desk lady came in. The night clerk told her I had issues and when I told her what they were, all she did was stare me down like she wanted to hurt me. She said absolutely nothing. I paid $129.00 to stay there and couldn't have been more disappointed at the shape of the place and the dangerous situations with exposed wires. As I stated in the beginning of this review, Wyndham should be ashamed. I will contact Wyndham regarding the state of this property.

Very nice hotel. Great set up for an extended stay. Nice staff & hosts too. Very Clean!

We stayed for 3 nights. The front desk was very polite and let us check in early. The room was exactly what we needed for our trip — a bed, a fridge and a bathroom. The rooms are large and clean. We dont usually look for negative aspects when travelling as it is part of the adventure, but I could see where others would say the property needed a good cleaning. Rooms were tidied up daily and towels were replenished. Breakfast was good and the pool area was great for kids. If you are looking for a value priced room close to attractions and can overlook a couple aesthetic issues then I would recommend staying here. If things like chipped furniture and small areas of peeling paint will ruin your time I would suggest one of the higher priced accomodations.

The room is dirty. The refrigerator and appliances are dirty. The closest in the bathroom has a visible waterheater with bugs all over the place. The furniture is outdated. The area is not favorable.

You can't beat the price for how much space you get. But this is definitely not a fancy place. It is like a low end apartment complex and is surrounded by a few abandoned hotels. It does not feel unsafe, so I would consider it anytime you have a large group you need to house.

Im an extended stay and have been here for almost 4 months and had an awsome place to stay. Staff is awsome and if you need anything they will do there best to make you satisfied…

The hotel is located in Columbus Ohio. The rooms were equipped with a stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. Aside from that, you could tell either it wasn't the best hotel or the hotel was in transition and decided to maintain customers during the process. Reason being, there was a really nice bed and pillows, etc. And they had put in a new tub, shower, etc. But there wasn't an overall feeling of cleanliness. My husband and I went to the nearby drugstore to purchase Lysol wipesand Fabreze. The room had an odor. It could have been the rug. We were not sure. Why did we stay? We felt we could make it work. And we did.

Rooms looked like they hadn't had a real cleaning in years. Dirt and grim in corners. Furniture and wood work were all scratched and scuffed. This is a very bad area. We and others families (we were there for a soccer tournament) witnessed thugs in the parking lot doing shady deals. Very scary. Not a place for families to stay. I can't believe this is a Wyndham facility.

Horrible! It is a rough area and it looked as if people were living there, we still went inside of our room to see if we would try to stay but it was so nasty that we would not possibly lay our bodies on anything in there. Sheets didn't fit the bed, bathroom was nasty and you would need shower shoes to shower, pull out sofa was nasty and mold. No extra sheets or blankets… I was there all of 5 min. And would never stay in a place like that unless I was homeless and nowhere else to stay… it could be very nice but not kept up at all and with all the amenities if it up it would be a nice hotel but it's not and they would make more money renting by the hour! #! ##!

Don't waste your time staying here. The bathtub had hair in it. The carpet was terrible. The bed, I think it was mattress on plywood. Sofa bed was horrible. Why is there not housekeeper? Was to stay on Sunday night left to come back, stay at another hotel.

The staff is so nice and very accommodating took care of us so well with layer check outs, and the breakfest is amazing super friend staff would totally recommend.

Had a really nice time with friends. There was some damage to the tub but honestly it was a great time.

Rooms were quite large and clean. Moved between several rooms to visit friends and found that the legs to the couches are broken in each room. The service was pretty good, no complaints about it. Would recommend as a good place to stay for the weekend.

Very nice n more ways than one. Staff, property, price & for this being an extended stay hotel directly off the highway the rooms are great. I normally only do BW or Marriott but I decided to give this Hawthron a chance which is the third one i've ever stayed at ammd this is well by far the best! I will always remember this CMH Trip 2015…

The king suite was very large, with a kitchen and a balcony. The bed was comfortable, and the shower pressure was perfect. I couldn't ask for a better room for the price. I will definitely stay again.

BEWARE! This place is horrible, the rooms were filthy and I itched the whole time, our feet were black from the carpet. The curtains were torn. The people that are permanent residents were scary, I was scared to leave. The staff was rude. I should have listened to the negative reviews. Told us we would have to pay $20.00 for extra towels, this place is by far the worse place I have ever stayed. Residents sit outside on shared balcony with doors opened and music playing. I felt very unsafe. The positive reviews have to be from employees, no way someone could think this place was nice.

Run down, in disrepair, and dirty. Thought I could deal with it until I pulled out the sofa bed and saw inside it… gross. Moved my family to another hotel down the road. Maybe I got the worst room they have because I booked late and through Priceline, but it was possibly the worst hotel room I've ever gotten.

Do not stay here. I just spoke with the manager Brian and he said he would further my complaints to Wyndham. My room door came off the hinge, and the room they switched me to had not been cleaned in months. I took pictures and posted to Yelp and Travelocity. This place needs help. Not handicap accessible. Kitchen was located on the second floor and only stairs to get there. I was not worth what I paid in discounts. Rooms should be 20 dollars a night tops.

A good breakfast, comfortable beds. Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired, and things behind. Furniture dated and creepy. Seems like nothing is being reinvested back into the property. But it is still open, while the neighboring motels are boarded up.

We loved this hotel! Definitely will be back next year, stayed 4 nights and visited Columbus Zoo and Zoombezi Bay for 2 days! Staff were all very nice and professional, very nice pool, clean rooms, if you are planning to use your kitchen. Bring your own pots, pans, etc. Xbox will not connect to Wi-Fi. 20 minutes from zoo, very good breakfast, but crowded at some points in the morning. Go down early for breakfast if you want to make yourself a waffle, there is a short wait for that. Overall, great stay.

We were very pleased with our stay here. The room was nice and clean and only giving fours stars because the only issues we found was the water was never very hot for long and u had to hold the toilet handle to flush it. Fridge was nice and cold. Kitchen was nice! Staff was nice also and they have room service too. Another complaint that doesn't really have to do with the hotel itself was its quite noisy at night with the highway traffic. It's not in the greatest part of town but u can't beat the price for the room you get and we found no issues in the neighborhood itself. It just isn't very nice to look at is all. Lots of abandoned hotels near it. But Lots of stores and restaurants nearby are handy. The free breakfast is superb. Lots to choose from. There was bacon eggs sausage waffles biscuits and gravy as well as muffins bagels toast cereal fruit and juices and coffee. The employee making breakfast was nice and welcoming. We would stay here again. Just wish it was easier to get to.

I was very satisfied with my recent stay. Nice layout with upstairs/downstairs area, nice kitchen area and TV room. Breakfast was decent for a free one. I will definitely stay here again.

Comfortable stay for business trip.

My mother made a reservation for this hotel 3-27-15 and let me say it wasn't a pleasant stay. The bathtub was filthy and powder in different corners of the carpet. When we called the front desk we were told someone would be to our room. After waiting an hour, noone ever showed up. Called down for 4sets of wash clothes and towels and told housekeeping would bring them. After an hour we still received nothing. At least would like to shower before checkout. Called to pick them up ourselves but said they were all stocked and out with housekeeping. So another 30 minutes go be and still nothing. Was told the general manager would be in after 2pm which checkout is at noon and we had to head back home to Dayton. Once we stated doing a review online about the terrible service we received a Man came to look at the tub, brought only 2wash clothes and towels with him and was laughing at my mother when she was showing him the filthy tub and shower from Poor housekeeping not cleaning our tub/shower. Very rude, he kept smiling as if he bathes in filth. Totally rude and inappropriate to the guest Especially coming from another city. No one as of today has contacted my mother about our stay or complaint of how we were being treated as guest. The only thing that was half decent was the breakfast. Never again would we stay here.

The front desk person was friendly and nice as I had my brother in law wait for me upon arrival. However, we had a first floor room and upon entering the room, we noticed the frayed carpet. We could not ignore the noise from the guests in the room above us. The TV had poor visability. This was not a nice location. It seemed like there was a mall nearby that was closed, so the area was somewhat desolate. I would not return or recommend anyone stay here.

Not as clean as one might like. Poorly done plaster work left the bathroom with a hole in the ceiling and plaster on the floor. Showerhead was unclean, needs to be given a proper wash. Also, hope for a second floor room, otherwise you'll hear every step.

Not a bad place to stay at all especially for the price line rate of 49 +tax. Room pictures were pretty much right on. Everything listed on our reservation confirmation were indeed included. We stayed New Years Eve, front desk seemed pretty busy at 4 pm for check in, but very friendly. The Studio room we received was nice. Queen Bed was comfy, 4 cushy thick pillows. Bathroom nice and clean. Full kitchen, clean fridge, some pots, pans + utensils included. Coffee pot and even popcorn to use in your microwave! Real fire place. Patios or decks depending on what floor. Room was a little dated some paint chipping etc, lamp was a little dusty, sock left under bed. Only things I could find wrong. Breakfast was surprisingly good for what you might expect at a hotel. Bacon, eggs, hash browns, cereal, and your usual continental fair. No complaints I would stay again.

I was presented with a room that not only appeared to have not been cleaned in several days, but also showed signs of a serious “bed bug” infestation as well. Secondly, I also noticed numerous used Kleenex tissues that had been discarded in back of the nightstand and subsequently left for the next guest to discover. Although both of these issues are quite substantial in and of themselves, I would argue that the third item that was discovered could in fact be considered in direct violation of state and federal law: a half-bent tablespoon that was sitting idle on top of the living room couch. The spoon was quickly placed in the trash can, as well as an urgent call to the hotel front desk. I was moved to another room that had even more issues: plumbing issues with the kitchen sink, white-coloured stains on the couch, and dark-coloured carpet that had amassed a significant amount of dirt/dust that was only clearly visibly from the bottom of a naked foot. Don't stay here.

When we got there they said they upgraded our room. Overall it was nice, but my husband fell in the shower because they don't put anything in the tub to reduce slipping, and they don't clean their showers very well. So be careful kind of slippery. I also noticed that the windows were busted, and one of our windows wouldn't even lock closed. The furniture was really just for looks because it was busted or stained heavily. Prior to going there I asked if there would be pots and pans we could use in the kitchen, I was told yes. But unfortunately that was incorrect. It was a good deal @ 70 but I wouldn't imagine paying more than that for their best room. I hope you don't! Its definetely in need of an update. The hotel staff is very friendly, and their free breakfast is good.

We stayed at the Hawthorn for 3 nights. We had booked 4 nights but they lost our fourth nights reservation so we had to move. While staying there our air conditioning went out and they made us stay in the room at full cost. They told us that they did not have any other rooms available. I also received a $250 dollar parking ticket for parking next door in the vacant lot. (i was driving a tractor trailer) They had people in the parking lots and common areas all hours of the night, and we were approached by a hooker and her pimp at 10am Tuesday morning. I would not recommend this hotel to any one. over priced and bad service.
