Review of Bowman Lodge & Convention Center 3*

The hotel is very nice and is probably one of the only nice places to stay on a long trip in this area. I've been there twice in the past week and the rooms and front desk we're great. If only there was a good place to eat. The restaurant is not anywhere near the same quality of the hotel. Honestly, I felt compelled to write this because somehow the restaurant has amazing reviews and I figured they must be fake, or I must be batshit crazy. My body will not forgive me for going there. Maybe it was rush hour (both times I went a week apart), but even so, they need more wait staff to take orders so the guests don't feel like a burden to the overwhelmed crew while still getting everything to the customers. Their burgers are really greasy and will soak the bottom bun and paper below it with grease. The fries are greasy as heck, and do not have any texture other than sogginess. It looks like the restaurant has good intentions with the choice of never frozen beef and freshly cut fries and chips, but who cares if they are just grease soaked bowel destroyers. Good ingredients + bad excecution is the same as bad product + bad excecution. The prices are really low, but thats not a reason to not look at the product the kitchen is putting out, I'm pretty sure they don't even realize how much grease comes out with the food and subsequently in their customers. Really sucked to have a long drive the day after eating there, but now I've seen all the rest stops… I thought the first time I went I may have got them at a bad time, but the experience was worse the second time.
