Clean. Lots of improvements in the last few years. This year the parking lot and exterior was improved. Good value and room for Semi trucks with trailers in the empty paved lot next door. Great Mexican Restaurant next door with a full bar.

The rooms are nice for the price but there was an odor that was not so pleasant. I like the updated hardwood floors. I didn't like that there are no elevator here. One other thing, and that is the parking lot. It just rained earlier and the parking lot is pretty bad. Between the holes and mud that alone lowered the experience. I don't want to sound negative about the place entirely, I did freshen up the room and once the odor was gone it was easy to sleep. I have to admit the bed was comfortable. It looks like they are or recently updated the hotel because the rooms are modern. No real complaints for the price. I think the issue is they are located next to a Holiday Inn, and when you look at it first it is a sad when you look at Hiel st k huh.

Have stayed at this location several times. Twice this year so far and was upgraded to king suite. Picked a great day for it as was a really rough day. I am diamond member of rewards program due to my constant travel with work and upgrade to Jacuzzi room. One of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. Usually opt for simple rooms but have been working over 4 months without a day off and huge jacuzzi king suite was a great change for a homesick family man… thanks econo lodge and all employees I spoke with did a great job… felt much more like timeshare condo than hotel room. And a big one at that…

The room was reasonably priced, the staff was great while checking us in. The room was clean when we arrived and they even had a continental breakfast! It was a great experience and I highly recommend visiting.

Older hotel smelled like a thrift store. Parking lot needed a total redo. Pool was ok. Breakfast was pretty good. Would try to find somewhere else to stay when we are in the area again.

Brianna was helpful and friendly. She made me feel welcome and not like a burden.

Good place to stay for the money. Room was clean staff friendly and good breakfast. Only complaint is the parking lot is awful… Pot holes, puddles, very uneven. Wouldn't want to park a low clearance car there.

I would recommend this hotel very much. Except for the. Parking lot which is horrible. Breakfast was great. Hottub and pool was amazing also very clean rooms very helpful staff.

Convenient location from airport. 1st room we stayed in was nicer than the king size / accessible room on the 2nd (return) stay. Bathroom sink didn't drain. Housekeeping came to fix after we mentioned it however we were on our way out. Good discount with AARP. Place to lay your weary head. Good Value when vacationing on a budget. Pool and jacuzzi were working but no time to use.

Friendly and courteous staff. Also they are pet friendly not just with dogs they also allow cats.

I soo enjoy this hotel the hospitality is the greatest thing about this hotel to me. I travel to Duluth 4 times a year I stay here EVERY TIME! The staff always remembers us they do such a good job informing us of events going on in tbe area and discounts even get you a cab or if it's quiet let you swim lil longer! It is very clean comfy and affordable and to me personally it's a 5 star hotel for me and my children!

I love this place. It is usually booked up so I am not the only one. The staff is very friendly and good at what they do. I love the free breakfasts. There is a nice indoor pool and hot tub. I had to stay at a "ritzy" hotel in Downtown Duluth during my time here and when I compare the two, I'll take the Econo-lodge.

Our stay was very nice. We stayed in the king suite with a Jacuzzi tub. We especially enjoyed the large comfortable rooms. Our visit to Duluth was for a relaxing get a way. It would be nice if the TV in the living room had been larger. We will definitely stay at this motel again.

The highlight of this hotel is the staff, everyone was very nice and helpful. I will stay there again. Rooms are clean. Only downside I saw was the parking lot need to be repaired desperately, but that didn't affect my opinion of my stay!

Inside of the room looked great! However the exterior and Hall's did not look like they take care of the parking lot and building all that much. Employees were very kind and helpful.

All staff are extremely friendly and helpful, which we loved. Comfortable beds. Pool was great but a bit cold. Parking lot definitely needs some work. We loved the free breakfast with tons of choices.

I would not recommend. Showed up an hour after check in, and after we checked in our room was not cleaned and we had to wait even longer (over and hour) to have access to our room. The building smelled of cigarette smoke and weed. We did not have high expectations and were expecting a basic stay. The back door of the building did not lock, allowing anyone in. To make matters worse, we found a dirty washcloth that was left in our room and did not have a working TV remote. Overall, not worth it at all. Spend a little extra for a nicer, cleaner hotel.

I travel for work & stay at a lot of hotels, specifically Econolodges/Choice hotels. If youre looking for a solid room this will do. They offer corporate rates for CN. Good TVs, good beds, good refrigerator, good heat & clean from what I noticed. Ive also stayed at this specific location about 15-20 nights and in various rooms. I obviously keep coming back!

There is absolutely no insolation/sound proofing in the walls. There were people running up and down the halls, having drunk conversation, and knocking loudly on doors all night. It's a decently looking hotel but absolutely horrible if you want to sleep.

We had a great time at the Duluth Econolodge the staff was friendly and helpful however some people had experienced over booking issues and were turned away. We stayed in the two queen room the beds were comfy and the room clean. The breakfast was great.

Staff was great! We stayed in the two queen suite and enjoyed it! My husband and I enjoyed the huge jetted tub inside the room the only issue was a jet was broken, it was not a huge deal. The man who checked us at night on the evening of 9/9/16 was GREAT, fabulous personality Would definitely stay their again.

Awesome place to stay. Pool hot tub awesome clean rooms… The staff are awesome people and all of them go out of they're way to help you… House keeping staff do awesome job… Free breakfast. Will come back here to stay again:)

It was thw cheapest in he are and we needed a place to stay. Not too shabby overall. Staff was friendly and very helpful, room was very clean. The only problems I had with it were the room smelling fairy badly like cigarettes (It was a smoking room) and the toilet not flushing anytime we had to drop a lot of kids off at the pool. Not too bad though! Id give it 3 5 stars if I could. If you hate cigarette smell, stay away. If you dont mind, its not bad at all! Oh, and breakfast was damn decent. Standard hotel stuff, but the waffle maker cooked one of the most perfect waffles ive ever had. A tad bit crispy, but still light and fluffy.

The staff were kind, polite, and helpful. Slept great, and there is a continental breakfast. It's an older place, it's showing its age, but it was a great stay and if I'm ever in bed of a one night stay I'll head back there.

Was just visiting. It was pretty much what you'd expect, decent rooms, nothing fancy in my opinion. I'd probably stay there if the price was right.

I read reviews before staying and agree that the parking lot is in need of repair. Breakfast was satisfying and there were many choices including fruit. The hot tub was closed, but the pool was open which made my kids happy. There was a leak in the ceiling in the lobby, but this appeared to be taken care of. Staff were friendly towards us and always helpful. I like that we got a beautiful landscape view as we drove to downtown Duluth for our site seeing. I would stay here again and recommend Econo Lodge to others as well. This was my first vacation with my kids and we all loved it!

Decent price but you absolutely get a budget deal. No working hot tub, noisy guests.

Not bad for the price. Lots of noise and kids running around, but the room as clean and updated. Breakfast in the morning was decent for a discount hotel.

We had a minor issue with our room and I wanted to bring it to the attention of the front desk before we left. Alex the young man at the front desk was so receptive and professional. We were more than pleased with his resolution. We felt he went above and beyond our expectations. Incredible customer service! We will definitely stay there again.

Keeping in mind that it is an economically priced hotel, it is an excellent stay: The staff are friendly and fast at their jobs. The rooms are clean and well kept. The beds are comfortable and come with incredibly soft pillows (4 per bed) ; The decor is modest and efficient with the outlets being easy to find and plentiful if you're carry a lot of electronics. The pool and hot tub are in full working order. The only complaint might be the breakfast which is sustenance at best. Nonetheless, the hotel is even better than Minneapolis's Airport Hilton. I had high expectations for the Hilton with the better sounding name brand, but this Econolodge was superior in every way for the weekend vacationer on a budget. I highly recommend they stay and will be staying again if in the area.

When we first arrived at the hotel I was shocked by the entrance road and the parking lot. Just awful. Upon going into the lobby it appeared clean. The 2 young men at the check in were both perfectly pleasant. I immediately told them I didn't want to be charged for the safe. I had seen this was an issue on many of the reviews. I was told it would be taken off. The halls had a little smell, but that's common. The room was clean, the beds very comfortable. It was a very hot weekend in Duluth and we were thankful that the air conditioner worked perfectly. The fridge did freeze all of our beverages, and one pop actually burst. I mentioned that to them upon check out. The room was quiet and we were not bothered by any other guests. As I checked out I quickly scanned the bill and did not notice the safe charge, apparently I scanned too quickly and missed it. Yes indeed I was charged for the safe. While it's not a huge fee, it's still really annoying that it was still on there even though I made a point of telling them to take it off. This hotel was way overpriced for the quality of the hotel. But in saying that… all the hotels in Duluth Mn. Are WAY overpriced when you visit during tourist season. This hotel was not worth $180.00 for a night, but there weren't any other options. All in all… it was fine. I didn't eat the breakfast but my daughter said it was good. So there is that! :)

Nice place! Definitely not the typical run down Econolodge! They even have an indoor pool. Clean room, cozy. Tiny room for shower and potty, just don't bend over! Nice staff. They're helpful and friendly.

For the price I paid, I felt satisfied with the service and amenities provided by the hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable enough even though the access from the main road to the hotel building needs to be polished. However, this is definitely a good 2-star hotel. I would come back for sure.
