I stayed here last weekend for a work event. The hotel itself is very welcoming and clean. The person that helped us check in was wonderful, and you even get warm cookies. The bed was very comfortable, especially the pillows. My work event was in the hotel, and the space for that was perfect. The only part I didn't like was the elevator. It is clearly outdated and a little scary, but everything else was perfect.

This hotel blew my expectations away! The room was a GREAT price, so I wasn't expecting it to be as amazing as it was. Soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and shown where to go. The lobby was very inviting and clean. The room was nice and clean, and the beds were some of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on! The pillows were also incredibly comfy!

Rooms are fine, kind of small. Beds are not comfortable. You're a lot better off paying the 10-20$/night difference to stay at the other Hilton down the street. One star due to management's treatment of a convention that's been held here for 20 years. Changed policies on too short of notice for the organizers to relocate and on top of that requested a bunch of police to stand around during the event. It made for a very hostile and unwelcoming atmosphere. Luckily the Bloomington police department is very chill and professional. If they didn't want to host the convention they should have made it clear when the organizers booked the space. I don't recommend even trying with management.

Our company held a two day training event at the DoubleTree in Bloomington (150-200 people). Everything went as planned. Staff was very kind and helpful. Food for the event was really good and the staff at the bar made us feel at home that night. You can tell the hotel is a little older but pretty well kept and they have made a good effort to update the decor. Beds were very comfortable and my room was very clean. I would highly recommend staying the night or hosting a company event at this Double Tree. Also, more hotels should great you with a warm cookie Thanks!

If you have an event, search elsewhere. The hotel management is uncooperative, unpleasant, and rigid. They nickel and dime you as often as possible, and their bottom line is always more important than their guests. I can't fault them for wanting to be profitable, but the best way to do that is by being GOOD to the people who hand you gobs of money. The amount of space they have is great, but the entire location is very dated in its construction and design (think 80s Eastern Bloc architecture), and the hotel rooms feel dark and cramped with low ceilings, tiny bathrooms, and narrow windows. The front desk and bar staff are lovely, and that's their only saving grace. I hope those folks are all able to find a better location with tolerable management where they can highlight their skills. The Twin Cities has a boatload of hotel options and event spaces — many of which are within a mile of the DoubleTree. Use one of those instead.

The room I received did not have basic appliances, ie. A mini-fridge or microwave. I do see some in the pictures people posted, so hey, I guess it's a toss up if you get appliances! Please note — many cheaper hotels do have these appliances, and it is ridiculous this hotel does not. I ended up eating at the restaurant in the hotel, and the food was just awful. When I arrived for check-in at 3pm, it was hours before my room was ready. If you want a bargain, go somewhere else. If you want to pay for a nice hotel stay, go somewhere else. This place is not worth it.

Was here for a conference. The staff here make this place fantastic! They were overly accommodating and consistently willing to go above and Beyond to make my stay comfortable. The rooms are pretty basic, no complaints. They do have a pool and hot-tub, both are pretty standard. The meeting rooms are very large and modern. I would definitely recommend staying in this establishment.

Comfortable beds and decent, clean rooms. Nice pool area. Friendly staff. I was here for a convention, for which we had the entire hotel booked, and the hotel was very accommodating of us all.

We stayed here Monday thru Thursday for a seminar. Staff were very friendly and the hotel rooms were clean. Our group participated in a banquet and classes for the week. The rooms were large and adequate for the number of attendees we had. The hotel could use some renovation and updating, otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

Attended a conference here in April with about 500 people. Had a full group meeting and then break out sessions, there was more than enough room and rooms. Lunch was provided and was well plated and tasted fine, although it was not as hot as it should have been.

The meeting facilities are adequate but the rooms are dated. The bathrooms are poor at best. The toilet is right in the middle of the sink counter. The beds are pretty comfortable but the noise levels are high. With the price they charge for a room a person should get more than they have to offer. You can do better going somewhere else to get a better value.

This may be the first review ever by a someone who hasn’t even been to this hotel. But I am so impressed by the responsiveness of the staff and especially the general manager, Ray Landry, that I feel I must leave a review. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my concerns. Thank you for your promise to hold yourself and your staff to the highest standard in caring for your guests. Thank you for being a kind and decent person in a difficult situation. No, more than that, thank you for being honorable. You are a knight in shining armor if ever there was one. May you always be that to those under your care.

This hotel billed me twice. Despite their assurances that I would receive a refund on one of the two charges multiple times, it has not ocurred. Both management and accounting dodge phone calls. Filing for fraud with my bank. Buyer beware. Update: Three weeks later and still no refund. Also, others have come forward and said this has happened to them too. Unbelievable — Avoid the DoubleTree.

Not the best hotel I have been in and not really up to the Hilton standard — Gives more of a convention center feel. The rooms were very, very small but clean. Only went to the desk once and had to wait about 3 minutes for someone to come help. The girl wore a somewhat ratty t-shirt with a blazer over it that looked exactly as it sounds. Finally, she was pretty rude when we said we didn't need a key/to scan our key in the elevator, telling us we were wrong or someone else must have scanned before us. Never needed a key in the elevator for the entire visit. Finally, the grounds were terrible, difficult to navigate and filled with potholes and rough patch work. Not a fan and never going to stay here again.

My experience. Booked online, different pictures for the room I booked. Meh, I can deal with that. Pool time for the kids lasted about 5 minutes because as luck would have it some black guys were trying to be all thuggish with one guy and we're throwing punches and obscenities in front of everyone, thus without the regard of any kids or other people. Hotel did nothing to stop this, we had to leave. This was very dissapointing for me and my family. We can't do this often and the kids were looking forward to the pool time before bed. One of the black guys even came at me when I was teaching my 5 year old how to swim and said, "What did you say bro? " I told him, I'm not your bro and leave me alone. No security and no hotel staff to speak of in the area. Sad.

Comfortable and large rooms. Good beds. Nice location, few places around to go eat. Excellent service.

I would rate this place zero stars if I could. Only based on the room service. They advertise it til 11pm then you try to order before 15 minutes before 11 and it just rings no one answers. Go to front desk and all they can do is give director of Operations number. Left a message waiting for him to call back. Waiting to find out what they will do for the guest. It seemed like a decent hotel aide from over priced drinks and tiny bath room that you would feel claustrophobic in. The staff was great from bartenders to front desk. I told Steve that it's not his fault that he had to deal with an upset customer. And I apologized and didn't want to direct my anger with him. He was great. It was whoever was running the kitchen for room service to decide to close early before the time quoted on menu. I understand about late night orders. Being in the business and all. I know it isn't b the most pleasant to make list minute orders but they b why b choose this career… But to chase away customers to me is unacceptable. It is an embarrassment to the industry. Without our guest we don't have a business. One gm to another Amenities and overall atmosphere was good. But to ruin it over room service is ridiculous. Might as well demolish hotel and provide no service to anyone. This is why places close in a competitive market. Inconsistencies in a business destroy the business. Just ask Old Chicago. Thank you for your time to vent.

Update 2.23.2018 — The hotel management team reached out to me and made a awesome effort to make it right. They owned the issues and promised to make the necessary corrections to the hotel and asked for me to give them another shot. This is certainly a hallmark of a great hotel and I will be giving them another shot for sure. 2.20.2018 I was so incredibly disappointing with my stay at the Double Tree this week and felt I needed to comment. 1. The workout facility was a mess. Two treadmills had touch screens that didn't work and one of them knocked when I ran on the right side. The workout room had no ventilation so it smelled a lot in there. 2. I could never connect to the Wi-Fi on my iphone. No matter in my room or in the lobby it never worked. The one time I did get the prompt to come up it timed out. This is more typical at Hilton properties than not. 3. The light shined inside my room brightly from under the door. It was so bright and made it difficult to sleep. 4. The iron in the room was of low quality. I actually had to wear a different shirt because the iron couldn't get wrinkles out of my dress shirt that morning. Not a great hotel.

When I checked in Tarah at the front desk first words to me once I gave my name was how many people checking in? I stated two, then she proceeded to tell me what room number I was in and we had a king size bed. We are here for a hockey tournament and I stated my son will not be happy sharing a bed with his mom. I believe we should have two queen beds. That’s when she got rude and said that is what we booked and It also happened with other people that they also got a king size bed. But unfortunately we used an outside agency that did the booking so I assumed that’s what we were getting. Clearly she was frustrated with other families responses to being told they would have to share a bed with their hockey player too. Tarah was so unprofessional with the way she responded with “so do you want a cot?! ” I knew the room would be cramped and I said no. She also stated we are completely booked and their were no other rooms. That’s when I got rude with her attitude and said looks like the hotel overbooked and once I stated two people you just threw us into a king size bed. She said, don’t tell me what I did and you don’t have to be rude, that’s what you reserved and do you want a copy of your confirmation and I said yes. The sheet she gave me was of no use and no information on it was helpful. Once I found out later that another family in our group was assigned a king size bed for a family of three, I felt better about my circumstances. But here’s where the story gets better.

Parts of the building/rooms seems to be aging but kept clean with new paints. Clean rooms but not as spacious. Great view @ top floors, unfortunately there is nothing to enjoy the view from. Good food & onsite bar.

The hotel is good and all. The best is the lounge and Tim at the bar. He knows so much about the region and was like a free virtually tour guide. Plus he was just an outstanding person. People make all the difference.

The interior of the commons area was beautiful… nice enough for Vegas. Food was a little high priced, but value the experience, it was fine. Only complaint… our room. While everything looked clean, neat, and quite classy (except for the extremely low ceiling height), our room was at the end of the hall and next to the service elevators — noisy… really noisy.

During our stay, there was a large, loud party with DJ equipment in the room next to our that went on until 1:00am. There was extremely loud music and drunk obnoxious people spilling out of the room and into the hallway. We called the front desk at 11:30pm and asked if they could do something about the noise, but they refused. After the blaring music continued until well after midnight, my husband walked down to the front desk to ask them to intervene. The staff at the front desk was rude and refused to do anything about it. I have never been treated so poorly by hotel staff. I would expect much better customer service from a Hilton hotel. My husband stays at Hilton hotels frequently when he travels for work, and he was appalled at the rude and dismissing staff at the front desk!

My wife and I went here on New Years Eve to celebrate and spend time with our daughter, grandson and granddaughter. We reserved a poolside room and I was very much looking forward to spending time on the pool deck and hanging out for the evening to celebrate the new year. But there wasn't one thing about our stay that I can say was good. First thing was it took 45 minutes to check in and then we found out we didn't have a pool side room but a second floor room with a "pool view'. Then the pool area was about 60 degrees — not kidding one bit. The hot tub was luke warm at best and while I put on my swim trunks I never once got in the pool or hot tub. It was so cold in that hotel that other guests were wearing winter jackets BY THE POOL! Our room had a little patio area out in front but we had to take the comforters off the bed and use them to keep warm. They are pet friendly and my daughter brought her dog but he wouldn't lay on the tile floor because it was so cold. At 6:45am we were woke up by people down by the pool that were loud and the sounds came right through our room. Even worse it woke up the kids. I figured I would go get some coffee for us and low and behold they had no complimentary coffee but a Starbucks with $3.50 medium sized cups. Went down there with a ten dollar bill, bought three coffees and had to go back for more money. I was so pissed. Would I recommend this hotel to friends. Not on your life.

I came to this hotel for an event inside of their main ballroom. The hall is very spacious and elegant in appearance. I didn't have much interaction with the hotel staff so I can't comment much on that. They location it's fairly easy to find as is not far from the highway and around restaurants and other stores.

Ive been to large award ceremonies here and was recently there for training for 2 days. Friendly service in assisting with a mother's room. No room with fridge available but they offered use of their staff fridge. Free parking. Easy to get to. Good venue for training and conferences.

The employees were affectionate and the food was rich.

The gentleman by the name Jesse who works the front desk is absolutely amazing! Perfect example of amazing customer service and pride in the company and his job. DoubleTree will be my go to from now on because of him. Highly recommend. & thanks again Jesse for really going above and beyond the expectations we had set before checking in. It was greatly appreciated. You made a great lasting impression.

Booked for a convention. Rooms are updated and beds comfortable. The bell staff were very helpful, especially Chris. Helped me carry a large amount of items in and out. Pool is large and the cabana rooms are nice with indoor patio areas that made it nice for our hospitality suites. The only complaint is the lack of food options inside the hotel. The coffee shop had very limited hours and the restaurant was expensive. Fortunately there are many affordable options within walking distance. Also we had to ask daily for our patio lights to be turned on, there is no switches for people to do it yourself.

The staff was great, very attentive and helpful. There's a new section in an old section — the new section was nice. I had a few problems in the room, but they were all promptly attended to. I am a Gold Member and they had some nice perks for us. They have a shuttle to and from the airport on a regular schedule. The view from one of the top floors is quite stunning.

Stayed here for a family trip. Upon check in we received complementary warm cookies which were awesome, easy and fast check in, clean and comfortable room and the pool and hot tub were nice in size. Parking was easy as well. I would recommend this place for sure!

South tower is dated and does not have a mini-fridge and microwave like the north tower unless you request it. The couch in my room was definitely not clean but the bed looked okay. Staff is very friendly and helpful, plus the Crescent restaurant food is great. Shuttle service is reliable to the airport but hit or miss for requesting other locations.

Service was great. The staff was so friendly and happy. They truly love their jobs. Would have gave it 5 stars but we had a slow draining tub. Otherwise it was a very nice place to stay. Easy to get to and from.

The shuttle driver Durha from Ethiopia was a nice introduction to the expectations of the hotel. Really nice friendly guy. Once here the staff was pleasant. Our room was nicely decorated and get up to date. Quiet! The beds comfortable. The pillows small yet fresh and soft. And the towels were the softest I have felt in years and no bleach smell. On check out Maggie's was extremely nice. Top it off the room in the end cost us less then we booked. Overall it would be a 5 but the buffet breakfast was a bit lacking. Still highly recommended. Enjoy.

Conveniently located, decent restaurant and bar, healthy breakfast buffet, room appointments are hit or miss. My last suite's alarm clock, radio and lamp didn't work, and the outlet by the vanity sink was broken, along with the shaving mirror. However, in years prior, the furniture has been tasteful and walls/linens fashionable. The staff can be absolutely wonderful (those who've been there a great while are very helpful), but the sheer amount of turnover seems to make the vast majority of them look like fools as they cannot even answer simple questions. Their lobby coffee bar is awful, avoid at all costs (there are 2 chains within walking distance). Do not get a cabana poolside unless you're okay with noise.

The double tree is a solid hotel. Clean rooms, staff that is pretty consistently friendly and helpful and a good amount of space for just hanging out in or near the pool. And it handles it's conventions fairly well, though the larger a convention the more you'll notice that the convention staff are the ones working and helping out the others wandering the hotel. If you want something fancy or cheap, this probably isn't the right hotel for you. But if you want something that has a bed and is staffed well, the double tree is decent at that.

I stayed at the Double Tree By Hilton for a convention called CONvergence. This was my 5th year staying at the hotel for this convention and, as always, the staff were absolutely amazing! They are always cordial, helpful, and friendly. The hotel rooms, conference rooms, and hallways are always kept clean — even though 6, 000 people are walking around in strange costumes eating and drinking as they go. Wonderful experience!

Came here for the NAM pageant. Staff was absolutely wonderful, they helped us get all of our things into the room and were very accomodating. Free Wi-Fi was a great bonus!

Very good. The breakfast cost money. I wish the breakfast was free. Free breakfast is much better. I should complain to Hilton. The pool is way to big lol. Jk I liked the pool but the spa was really hot. I wanted a bigger bed but the bed was small. I also like the revolving door. They should give us free money. I don't know why they don't. Any well it was very good and I like it.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view was stunning. The bar/lounge had a good variety of food (the hot pretzels were a great snack), and an incredible staff! Definitely worth staying again!

Came for 2D Con. Not a bad place to have it. Spacious rooms for events, nice bar, interesting layout for the pool. The temperature seemed odd on the second floor, though. One room was ice cold and the other end of the building was really warm. Had a good time. Would attend events there again.

The rooms in the hotel are nice. Bathrooms are a little small. If you have a pool side room, expect noise until the pool closes to enter your room. This hotel is used for a LOT of events, so if you're not there for an event, you'll likely be in for a surprise. The event spaces are nice, have flexible arrangements, and offer a variety of ceiling height, lighting, etc. There are very few windows in the event areas including common areas, so there won't be much natural lighting unless you're in the courtyard in the pool area.

The breakfast is too expensive. Beds are nice. The chlorine in the pool suck when it's in your eyes. I love all the space and room for activities. Would definitely come again!

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean & comfy but a little too cozy for 4. Breakfast was a little on the high $ide but you get what you pay for. Nice variety of options on the buffet and waitstaff was great. Pool area was clean and spacious. Hot tub had weak jets.

We're not the only ones that say stay away from here… Not only did we not get the room we booked or the amenities, but for our first anniversary we scheduled all of our weekend plans around where we could get the room we wanted which is what this place said they offered. Being treated horribly by staff and the asst. Mgr pools were closed, Wi-Fi was 9.95 per 24 hours when it was supposed to be free (got pictures off their website), no fridge/microwave in room, rust and water damage everywhere cracks in the ceiling,. This hotel ruined our anniversary. Not only that but our SUV was door dinged within 10 minutes of checking in. I originally said that I would have rather stayed at a motel 6,,, I've changed that, I would have rather stayed at a roadside inn that charged by the hour that looked and smelled like an old beat up cabin, it would have been cleaner and way less then what I got ripped off for.

I stayed here one night after delta delayed my flight 13 hours. Check in was fine and the room was decent. However there was long black hair on the towles in the bathroom which was gross. Also, the main light in the room did not work. The hotel shuttle in the morning was fine, but I waited over an hour and a half for a airport shuttle.

I have stayed at many Double Trees in my life, and this has to be the worst so far. From unhelpful staff, to free shuttle ride that I would have to wait an hour to use, to even having no cookies upon arrival. I then asked for one again, same story: no cookies. I then asked again… still no cookies. They said it would take an hour for them… an HOUR? 60 MINS? I want a soft cookie, not a burnt one. The Double Tree not having cookies is like Mcdonald's not having fries… IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN. I would NOT recommend this Double Tree… Why pay the price when the quality is one of "Budget Inn"

We stayed Saturday Jan 30th to celebrate our daughter's 7th birthday. Although late check out wasn't available due to the amount of guests at the hotel, the staff kindly let us stay at the pool for a few hours after check out to celebrate her birthday with a few friends. They also wished her a happy birthday upon our arrival and had a little gift for her in the room. The room was nice however the shower temperature wasn't working; it remained incredibly hot.

The doubletree provided the space for the event planning meeting I attended. The room provided was clean, well furnished, and suzeable enough for our needs.

I visited the doubletop tree hotel for a conference. The overall presentation of the vendors was great. All the staff were professional and the environment was excellent. Great experience! I look forward to staying there again.

Nice hotel that our corporate travelers frequent. Good rooms at a decent price (with the company discount, not sure on value at full price). The bar staff is very accommodating and helpful.

There was nothing exepional about this double tree! The king size bed gave both of us terrible neck and back pain. Makes me wonder if they ever change out there mattresses! So to make our 2 day visit bearable we went to target and bought inflatable camping beds! The way I see it Hilton owes me money for a trip to a chiropractor! This is a unbias review and my honest opinion. Thanks for the aches and pains!

Upon check in they refused cash and would only take a credit card. 5 minutes in the room, my 4.5 year old handed me a loose staple she found on the floor. Had to have a bell boy bring the luggage up and guests couldn't use the cart.

This hotel is a DoubleTree in name only. DoubleTree hotels have always exceeded expectations. This hotel was not acceptable. It seems rundown, the door in bathroom had wood peeling from it. Wallpaper peeling, no fridge, just very shabby. We were told we could check in at 3, got there about 4:30, told room not ready, and could not get room until 5. Overall, disappointing. On plus side, beds were comfortable, cookie was great, lobby areas are great for hanging out with friends.

The pictures are deceiving. The walls are paper-thin and you can hear your neighbors conversation and the ice machine. Not what you expect for being part of the Hilton family. At least the staff were friendly.

I have never been more impressed with a hotel. We are a family of five, the room was clean and large enough for us all. The staff was very friendly. We will stay here again.

Be Careful. The hotel has two separate sections and the tower which is away from m ain lobby is no good. The parking area surprisingly has no camera surveillance and frequent thefts are reported from Cars. Management happily hides behind the ''owner is responsible' board. The Shuttle service is no good. I wanted to get dropped to nearby Embassy suites by hilton (1 mile distance) and the driver asked me for the address (? ). Perhaps this is too big for the management to manage. Stayed last week.

Checking in they said no other rooms available, we got the last Kleenex and box was empty, garbage can dirty. Downstairs receptionist we'll get some brought right up, no show. The room above us you could clearly hear walking around at 4 am. The television continued to shut off during the watch. When did Double tree hit bottom? Always thought up scale? Another Hilton disappointment. Comparable to Super 8 motel, wonder if there's one close by.

We stayed this past labor day weekend (3 nights) with my kids for a visit to the Mall of American and Water Park of America. I was EXTREMELY impressed. For the price I paid. The kids had never been on a trip let a lone out of the state so after I booked I received an e-mail giving me the option for a high floor room or a poolside room (at an additional cost), I thought I would opt for the high floor to impress them with a view. When I got there we were given a room on the Hilton Hhoners 17th floor at no cost and the kids just loved it. The rooms were an average size but updated decently and just enough space for myself and 3 teenagers I had with me. The pool was placed in a nice area, indoors. It was 9' deep which was awesome for the teens I had with me. It did get packed at times but nothing the hotel could do about that. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was a daily charge for Wi-Fi, but 24 hours free. This was a family trip, so I wasn't too bummed about the lack of Wi-Fi, we were out a majority of the time. Again, this is all based on the price I paid, I definitely feel like I got my monies worth, if not more! Would definitely choose them again.
