Checking in another couple said to check for bedbugs because they just found bugs. Got to our room, smelled of smoke, stained walls, blood on the light switch, dirty floors, no toilet paper or towels. And when we lifted the mattress to check for bugs there was a dirty pair of underwear…

Bed bugs, cum stains on sheets, drugs deals in hall way, dust everywhere. Nasty do not stay here.

Nice location, has a Walmart right across the street that you can walk to, along with some restaurants. Room was typical red roof room, if you've stayed at one you know they are all pretty much the same.

Great room and location! The fridge didn't work the greatest and the AC was humid smelling, but everything else was perfect.

NEVER AGAIN! Even though we're told at a young age "if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything", I can't in good conscience stay silent and let another human walk into this place. It smelled of stale cigarette smoke, the linen was disgusting, it looked like someone had just kicked our door in, there was tissue stuffed in the hole where the peephole was supposed to be, there was no fire extinguisher I the broken case… I get disgusted talking about it all over again and yes, I did explain this to the manager who blew off my concerns. Hope the pictures help the owner when it comes to what needs to be fixed around the place.

Very unclean place to stay. Staff was not very nice. Smelled bad. Carpets dirty. Rooms are bad. Microwave broken. Wish I could upload pictures to this. Travelors BEWARE. Complained to management about nasty room and they said we could leave if we dont like it. Wont recommend this place to ANYONE.

Nice room. Cordial staff at check in. No remote in room but we just slept. Good value for the money.

Room was clean and neat. Grounds we're well maintained. Staff even offered to help with the loading as we got ready to leave.

This hotel is worth for what you are paying. Very near to many restaurants. We checked in the night. The front desk staff was so friendly. The room was clean and neat, however it smelled bad. Apart from the unpleasant smell everything else was fine. Good for families to stay.

It was a place to sleep, the people in the room next to us were fighting, the room smelled of cigarette smoke, the linens had stains, or at least I hope those were strains. The water took a while to get hot and the floors were dirty. On a good note, the people at the front desk were very nice and pleasant for the night we stayed.

Great management. Ice machine. Big, nice TV. Great housekeeping. Comfy mattress. Microwave and fridge ought to be standard though. The exterior is somewhat ghetto.

Our room was Worn and clean. The hotel is located within the easy access on the expressway. If you're looking for a reasonably priced broom for the evening this hotel will fit your bill.

You get what you pay for, folks. The receptionist with her belly hanging out from under her way-too-small shirt was a nice touch. Room was acceptably clean, but just barely. Glad I only needed somewhere to crash for a few hours.

The rooms are decent. There are flat screen tvs. The rate is pretty good and it's a huge step up from the adjacent hotel. There are other hotels down the street that are 15 dollars more and are wayyy better. So take that into consideration if looking in this area. It is just above average for hotel stays. Indian owned. Housekeeping will absolutely bug you and they do not speak English. They are just too intrusive. I had to stay for an extended period of time and spent almost 2 thousand dollars at this place, and It was not that good. If housekeeping wasn't so annoying and the front desk was a little more appreciative and accommodating, it would have helped. Needs improvement.

The room was clean & simply laid out. I was given a wheelhair accessible room, which was fine, however there was no tub, only an accessible shower with a bench. Again, I had an accessible room so this was to be expected, but if you want a tub, keep that in mind. The service was prompt & courteous and the price was very reasonable. There's no on — premise breakfast that I could tell but there are places close by. I'd stay here again.

Tv swiveled! staff so nice mini tub was new excite for me and chanel 98 had my favorite the Globe show on at night. Staff went above the beyond so please.

Great place to stop and get a good nights sleep. Clean and, quiet.

Not exactly the cleanest hotel. Cigarette burns in the blanket and what looked like small bloodstains. Gross bathtub and stains on the wall that I can't even explain (room 115). Unfortunately, we didn't have a choice. The roads were really bad and the nearby hotels were booked. We had our baby with us and the choice was stay at a grimy hotel or chance getting into an accident. Thankfully I had spare blanket and we all shared the pillow we brought along for our road trip and just got the hell out of there as soon as the roads were cleared.

It was pretty good stay, much better than I expected. We had to stay in 2 ⭐motel because we have 2 dogs and a cat. After I read reviews I didn't expect much but it was clean and when I just walked in the room it smelled like clean laundry, which very surprised me. BTW they have washing machine and dryer. Smoke free rooms also big +. Good location! A lot of restaurants around and Walmart and gas station. Would recommend.

Over priced (especially their weekend rates, they jump up $30 more per night), the room smelled like a damp basement, sheets on the bed were dirty and had stains on them, and the bathroom looked like it hasn't had a good cleaning for a few months. I don't know how they have close to 3 stars, this is a 2 star motel at best.

Roach in my room. Don't go there. When I told management they just asked me if I wanted $20 off. Of course I didn't want to stay there.! Management wouldn't give me my money back after 5 hours of being there. I tried contacting Andrew Alexander, Red Roof Inn president who didn't care to respond.

A great place. Very clean and reasonable. It's close to Michigan lake and Chicago. Check in was very easy. Close to food and shopping. Would definitely stay here again.

Bed Bugs! This hotel (Red Roof Inn, Michigan City) is not very clean, but we were willing to overlook that because it was one of only two options priced reasonably around $100. But I woke up with about 10 bed bug bites, and I'm NOT willing to overlook that. I'm not going to just write a bad review, because that isnt enough. You cannot in good faith continue allowing people to stay there and leave with bedbugs. That is unacceptable. Ill be contacting the BBB and every authority agency I can to shut this down. Disgusting.

They did not clean our room or make our bed every day. We were not happy. The first room we were given was saturated with smoke. The second room was better, but you could still smell smoke. We will not come back.

I booked two rooms for 3 days. For $814.00 plus, My room was filthy. Had not been vacuumed, there was a dead cockroach on the floor, several cobwebs in the corners; the fridge and freezer was dirty, floors felt sticky, the room smelled and the bathtub actually had 4 inches of water in it. The bedspreads had stains on them. Pillows were completely flat. I was totally concerned about bedbugs. August 4, 5 and 6th. I chose one star only because it was the only Hotel available and of its proximatey to the boat races.

Red roof put a lot of work into this location. But the house keeping. They need a new supervisor and inspection. Very much o. The low end and needs maintenance update one the regular. For a hundred dollars a night. They may need to pay employee's better, to get better cleaning results.

The room was musky & the carpet was damp feeling. The area was shady. There were kids walking out by the cars all night. My wife & I felt unsafe. We will never return & it was definitely Not worth the money.

I purchased online. When I got there on july 3rd. My room was FILTHY!, Glen at the front desk then put me in another room that was someones room already and then the 3rd room was again FILTHY!. I asked for a refund. And he charged me again! im discusted with the service I recieved. Do not go there unless you want a stained up bed and dirty room! GROSS, 0 starts.

If you have any kind of common sense, do not stay at this hotel. The rooms are completely unsanitary and should be reported to the heath department. Blood, hairs, and bodily fluids can be found on the bed sheets because they are not changed — when reported to the management, they simply say their housekeeper "needs to be fired". The bathrooms are not properly cleaned and the overall maintenance of the building is lacking. If you want bed bugs and a room that smells of pet urine and cigarette smoke, this is the place for you. Please do not waste your money on these overpriced bacteria breeding grounds. The "management" is an illusion, they are unprofessional and unable to offer any kind of help. The front desk clerks look helpless and humiliated to be working there. Please listen to the other bad reviews of this hotel — they are not exaggerating even in the least. Also, if you do stay at this hotel, bring your own towels. They DO NOT give out any extra towels, claiming that they "do not have access to them".

There was plenty of room to park our trailer in the lot. Our room was pretty rough. Our fridge had mold in the door. Our toilet had some leftovers on the bowl. Our drain was rusty and nasty. The room smelled like a smoker was trying to cover up the fact that the had been smoking. It was a nonsmoking room. The nice thing was it was out of the way and very quiet. We didn't hear a thing the entire night. Sometimes those kinds of things out weigh the nasty things when you've been driving for 4 days. Probably wouldn't choose to stay here again, but it got the job done for the night. It is right next to a gas station and some restaurants. It's also miles from the beach, which is pretty cool.

If I could I wouldn't even put 1 star! This place is gross, blood on the sheets went to complain & nite mgr Glen wouldn't even come back to the property & assist nite clerk Tyler. We were sent to 3 different rooms & all rooms were disgusting! In the morning we did speak w/ mgr Glen who didn't think anything had to be done except was the sheets. Would not recommend this place at all! health code violation big time.

Refrigerator made weird noises all night.

Room are great. Room service is mediocre. But what get me is the kind of peaple around the hotel. Cars park in the parking lot with loude music and the front desk dose nothing. I feel in constent in fear that my truck is going to get broke into because of the peaple out at all times of the night. Like my second night I woke up at 2am because of children running around outsid! Then I feel like I must constantly check on my truck every time I hear a noise out side. Now you may just think I'm paranoid but I travel for a living and stay in hotels 365 days out of the year so I know the signs of peaple that are up to no good. I would feel alot safer here if the had cameras in the parking lot and if management did something to keep the noise down. But if you have nothing of value to warry about this is great for you. As I said great room. Pretty clean and newly remodeled witch is great. Mattresses are nice and seam new witch is to my liking.

It was a clean room at a good price.

After having positive experiences in past Red Roof Inns I recommended this hotel for a girls weekend. This is a sad shabby hotel that over charges for what you get. Room stank of smoke, carpet worn & dirty, ants in bathroom. If you were a fan of Red Roof Inn like I was stay away from this one.

For a good night! Price performance ratio is also good! Everything is clean. In michigan City there are but nothing special to Look at! Good for a passing thought!

They redecorated looks better.

Don't ever stay here with your family more then one day. I was staying there with my sick mom and kids waiting for our house to be ready. And the maids complained about the room and I tried to keep the room from being a big mess I even vacumed my self and we took out garbage. We tried to check in a week later again after a few hours they told us we had to leave, well the front desk lady did. The last room wasn't even that messy and I left a tip. Don't go there with kids and homeless and stay past a day or two.

I would not consider staying there due to management
problems.

It was nice, stayed only for two days, wasn't too happy about the tobacco stains on the sheets and the air smelled but I got used to it. The Wi-Fi is great! though, I was able to stream really quick and that is amazing enough for me lol.

Pet Friendly — Only reason I stayed over night. But considering this is the only hotel chain in the area which is pet friendly. Its my go to hotel. I wish it would just update the rooms and a longer range Wi-Fi.

The mattress/box springs were on the floor, carpet stained and dirty. It looks nothing like the picture posted. We should have been paid to stay there. avoid this hotel.

This is the worst piece of s*** place I have stayed in. It smells like a sewer, the blankets were wet, and there were stains everywhere. Whatever you do, don't stay here.
