A very good, beautiful hotel with a first class customer service and in a very nice atmosphere of Evanston — Chicago North, Illinois, USA.

I don't know about the people who had a badd experience my experience was nothing but Pleasant. The Room was clean. They actually gave me special service so that I could go eat breakfast and come back to the Room before it was scheduled to be cleaned. Everyone was courteous and helpful. Cameron gave me directions on places to Go and how to find things that I had forgotten a bring on my trip. It was just what I needed I have had an unpleasant travel experience up to that point and Cameron was patient and kind. The hotel is is very close to stores and restaurants. I do not suggest the buffet or breakfast service though. I was seated ten minutes before they closed and the server wasn't shy about letting me know it. So I never dined there even though I was still there several days. I'd stay here again its easy to travel into downtown because you are only a couple blocks away from the purple line.

Decent breakfast, toilet clogged TWICE!

It is a very nice hotel room, with a nice rooftop pool. The room was very modern, as well as the bathroom. However, the toilet flush kinda slowly and some of the pillows that my room had provided had stains. But they did provide a safe, fridge, and microwave.

Helpful, but not overly friendly staff,. Some seem a bit new to area, but try hard to give good recommendations and directions. There is construction across the street so be aware there is some noise on weekdays particularly early morning about 7 a. M. El tracks nearby so some noise from trains, but not bad. There are some good places for breakfast not far from the hotel if you want to eat a little cheaper. Try the golden Olympic which focuses on breakfast and lunch only. Rooms are a little tight but beds are comfortable. Pool and exercise area are nothing special. No exhaust fan in bathroom.

There were not enough staff manning check in, but the person who was, was pleasant and efficient. The hotel is dated and the hallways were more humid and hit than outside. The room though was cool and comfortable. The toilets are unbelievably low, but other than those few items, I would say it's a good stay. Fridge, microwave. Coffee maker and super affordable room service for breakfast. I would stay again.

The location was close to the purple line, an easy transfer to downtown. Great rooms, love the fridge and microwave. Amazing bed, good bathroom, good customer service!

Excellent hotel with comfortable rooms and many newer or updated features. One of the elevators broke during our stay but it was repaired by time I got back from work in the evening. Located close to many food options and the Northwestern University campus it's much more sensibly priced than the other surrounding hotels.

Hotel is in a real quiet area. The staff was polite and pleasant. The hotel is clean and modern. There is parking on site but you do have to pay. It was $18 bucks a day. There are plenty of restaurants but uber eats comes in handy. There is a gym, pool and restaurant in the hotel. The hotel does have breakfast but you have to pay. I will visit again.

Wonderful Customer Service! Held my bags before and after my stay. Very clean. Changed towels and made bed daily even when we didn't ask.

Staff very accommodating! Restaurant was great with all my food allergies. You can hear the people in the next room… But our neighbors were polite and not too loud. I could barely hear the train. You do have to pay for parking and the hotel staff couldn't find any luggage carts. : (

Check in was quick. Room was tidy, clean and well kept. Parking was a bit awkward just a heads up that the garage has steep grades so if your in a sports car it will not work well for you, but no issues for my rental car.

I went there for a banquet. The banquet hall was gorgeous as well as the take settings. The staff were courteous and professional and everyone enjoyed their time there.

Great view of Chicago (12 floors of rooms). Full window view to enjoy watching the ciy light pop on as sun sets. Restaurant with bar in the Hotel is convenient and nice.

Check in was very quiet by staff… not a lot of information was given to me. Not even the $50 incidental charge I was never told about. Every night I come back from dinner I get knocked back by the weed smell stepping off the elevator. This place is not worth the price you pay per night.

The good: good hotel, nice size rooms, everything works, good value. The bad: on a 5 day stay, 1 day housekeeping did not fix room. Doors close really hard, disturbing when sleeping. The ugly: received better value at HI Express, with free parking, free breakfast. Unless I need to stay in this area, we will definitely not repeat it. Seems like HI has their stars inverted, the cheaper ones are offering more for less.

The place is very nice overall. The main issue I find is that they don't include free breakfast in their stay. Other than that, they have a great restaurant, place to keep your bags for the day of the checkout and great in room amenities. But location is there strongest advantage. The place is right at the heart of everything in Evanston.

This is the best hotel to stay in during the holidays. It has comfy rooms and offers a free breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend.

Very clean and good size rooms. We had a very good breakfast. Loved the restaurant kids eat free that's always a plus. The only complaint I have is the $18 parking fee per day.

Very clean, super polite front desk, and very accommodating for a non 4 star resort. Parking is 18 and totally worth it or you can street park with meters. Restaurants, shopping, coffee and cta all nearby with a restaurant/bar/lounge on site. Train is a bit loud and can be heard at night but otherwise a very clean and comfortable stay. Highly recommend.

Hotel was clean, stay was nice. Restaurant/bar had good happy hour deals and the bartender was personable. Front staff wasn't as friendly as they could have been, but it didn't ruin my stay.

I do not recommend the Holiday Inn located in Evanston. The rooms and atmosphere are highly outdated. For what I am paying, I expect something a little more comfortable. The rooms are small and cramped; the water took forever before even heating up. The actual plug for the drain was broken and I had to use a rag to stop the tub up. The food is absolutely terrible and outrageous pricing. I paid the same amount about 2 weeks ago for the Holiday Inn located in Skokie and it was 100 times better. I will not be giving these people my business anymore.

The rooms even smell good. They are large and can easily accommodate a whole family. Pool is clean and property looks nice. Will visit again.

Got a good deal that included breakfast. Had a long wait at the front desk checking in but the staff were helpful. Room was clean, spacious, and well equipped. Free Wi-Fi was fast. Good location in downtown Evanston, a nice walk to Northwestern and the trains. Hot breakfast buffet on the weekends. Restaurant service was really good. When I asked for no toast or potatoes, because it was more than I could eat, the server helpful offered a bowl of fresh fruit as an alternative. Reasonably priced, huge, tasty entrees. I didn't try the dinner items but the menu looked great.

We stayed there for a night since we were having some construction going on at home. We had a good time, spacious bedroom, everything very clean (but the windows). Great view of the city if you get a bedroom on the south side of the hotel.

The room was too cold from the air conditioner setting being unchangeable and nothing could be done to change the building settings nor could staff be of help much except bring an extra blanket which was done at least to make it a little bit more comforting to know since other hotels may not even supply the extra blanket at all and still make it available for free use. Also, the radio was filled with static that caused my listening to the radio music to be of no better enjoyment as it was of the room temperature. The swimming pool is outside instead of inside which is preferred during winter season if the room was booked of a better hotel but it wasn't and so no swimming was necessary nor of availability if I had wanted to do my water therapy for my body injuries and for enhancement of the comfort that was desired initially of a booked hotel regardless of the time of booking. Maybe, next time even the breakfast would be of my benefit since it was so cold the night that I stayed here that the next morning was not to my benefit of even partaking of the included breakfast of which my money spent on the rented room had purchased for my benefit to enjoy.

The staff at this hotel was so service oriented. Everyone from the front desk to the restaurant staff to the custodial staff to the garage staff greeted us/interacted with us. Ahsan was particularly helpful when we discovered IHG had booked us incorrectly. The room was very clean and we had a lake view. We would stay here again.

They have excellent consumer service, very friendly and helpful staff and when room didn't have any heat they sent someone up to fix it and when he couldn't fix it they switched our room. We would recommend them to our family and friends.

If a trickle of hot water in your powerless and low pressure shower, a hold down the handle for ten seconds so the toilet flushes is your thing or flexible delivery of housekeeping (by flexible I mean no housekeeping services on a holiday because we are short staffed) is your thing… well book a room at the holiday Inn Chicago North. When you are in the hospitality business, excuses for poor or non-existent delivery of basic services is simply not acceptable, no matter what season or holiday you use as an excuse. The likelihood of a return visit is slim.

Room is nice and clean. Microwave, freezer & coffee maker available. Coffee maker was used but has not been clean. Heater working nicely. Tub and shower available. Hallway has no heater, cold air flows into room through door gap. Door/windows has no noise reduction, can hear every noise clearly from hallway and metro passing by. Recommend dinner at hotel not a bad choice if too cold to walk outside. Shuttle only available 3 miles radius, but metro station in 4 minutes walk.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. I love the view from my room 301, church near by the hotel… Its very lovely… On a whole was clean and very nice.

Rooms were nice and amenities were plentiful. A couple front desk employees were complete airheads but other than that it was a great location and in a fairly safe place. Close to the lakefront and close to the Metra line, so it's convenient for both seeing Chicago and commuting elsewhere.

Me and my family had a great time here! good breakfast, cozy rooms and free Wi-Fi! the parking was a bit of a problem but other than that it was great. The staff was really nice to us and was always there to help. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. 5/5 rating!

This hotel was great overall. Comfy beds, clean rooms, nice staff. The only downside was the lack of a business center. They had a row of chairs with a long desk that was the business area, but it was in the lobby where they play loud music. I had to do homework and so I ended up sitting on a bench on the second floor just so I'd have a plug for the laptop charger and so I'd have a little more quiet. I was traveling with others who were still sleeping so I did not want to do my homework in my room. I wish they had a dedicated room as a business center but otherwise this was a great place to stay!

Was there for Northwestern football game. Shuttle picks up right at hotel and goes right to the field. Very nice staff. Had to wait for room for some time when I first arrived, but the staff was nice and accommodating. Would recommend!

Stayed one night in August and had a great experience. Was pulling a boat, so expected parking to be a bit of a problem. The concierge named Sam was incredibly helpful. He got us parked even though he had to accommodate a tour bus at the same time. He just made it work and was such a pleasure to deal with. I hope Holiday Inn is aware of the positive impact employees like Sam have on their business. Thank you again Sam!

Nice place in quiet suburban neighborhood, but walking distance to public transit and nice restaurants. Quiet and clean. Nice views of Chicago from 10th floor room. Convenient covered parking at additional cost. Friendly and efficient staff. Slow elevator with one out of service loses one star.

ON cleanness it was pretty good. The bathroom, soap, maids were very nice. It had a nice view it just had the trains close so sleeping was hard. They gave us free breakfast coupons for the kids each day it was amazing. But for the cafe its not free and the waiters are rude. On the last day of our stay we were there but at 9:30 and they ended at 10:00 am. But they forgot about our order and we waited for so long and they ended giving it to us and 10:17. And the bacon was really burnt. Also when we had company sit with us and we had payed for orange juice one of the kids gave some of their orange juice to their friend and they charged us 7 dollars. Other than that it is pretty okay I would come back but hoping they had better service in the restaurant. Also when a bunch of us came back to the hotel from a confrere that ended a long time ago they extended our check out time from 12 to 2 pm. That was nice of them.

The room we stayed in was very spacious and the view was gorgeous. Though on the website the parking says 14 and it's actually 18, they accommodated us with a prorated night the first night and breakfast coupons. Now my only issue is that you would think the parking would be included in the room rate but it's not. So I would suggest to anyone who doesn't mind walking 5 minutes to the local parking structure, GO FOR IT. It's cheaper and in the same area of the hotel. Besides the fact we literally spent alot of money on parking visiting other areas like Grant park for the Taste feast etc, the trip turned out to be okay.

The stay was great. The hotel is clean and staff seemed to be friendly; but, upon returning home we found we were charged double for our stay. I would think this is a quick phone call to determine why. After 4 attempts I was finally routed to the correct voicemail for the person to speak with, after being on hold for some time and being hung up on previously. We still have not resolved the issue or received a simple explanation from the staff. The communication to guests when there is a problem seems non existent. Update — a very kind manager called and took full responsibility for his team as well as provided a thorough explanation. Great move on his end! And now they have charged us an additional time. This means we have overall been charged four times for one stay.

Items were stolen from my room at this hotel. Management did a poor job of communicating with me and reassuring me that this would be handled. Management never called me
… only emailed me once, after I continued to call, to inform me that they will not reimbursement me for the items that were stolen. I think they didn't believe me or follow up on this matter promptly because of what was missing and they fact that I was an African American man wearing sweats and gym shoes. I do not believe they would have treated a white man in a business suit under the same conditions! I will make a police report and follow through with their cooperate office. It wasn't even the fact that the item that was missing was overly valuable or of importance, it's the principle of feeling safe while renting a room and the communication from their staff/management during a crisis such as this. All the fancy remodeling doesn't help if customers can't be garunteed that their safety and property will be secured at this location. I'm sure John the manager may think that I was not telling the truth, but I assure you I will follow this down the line!

My stay at the Holiday Inn Evanston was great. My room was nice and clean. The view was amazing. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. I woukd have given it 5 stars but there is no complimentary coffee. There is however Kureg in the rooms but I do not drink that brand. (I like decafe)

I should with warning everyone that this despite this hotel very nice and comfortable, it is NOT a Best Western hotel. After receiving an odd e-mail less tan 24 hours before I was supposed to check-in, I called Best Western to confirm my reservation and they told me this was not one of their hotels. On the other hand, the hotel staff was polite and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I love that the hotel was within walking distance of public transportation and local businesses. The room was great my only complaint is that the curtains were a very thin, filmy material and the sun came in too early so I was unable to sleep in very late.

Right by dempster station on the purple line. Room was clean, shower was hot, staff was nice, and hot breakfast free! Only reason no 5 stars because kayak said free parking and we had to pay $14.

I was a little concerned before I arrived because I had heard it was under renovation. Well our room was 9/10ths renovated with a wonderful new bathroom, very comfy snow white beds and pillows, flat screen TV, free Wi Fi amd a more than decent hot breakfast — we didn't need to eat until dinner! The front desk was very helpful, particularly a rather short man with medium skin (sorry I didn't get his name)! He could not have been more helpful on things such as how to get to the nearby subway to the city, good, well priced restaurants in the area and asking if there was any way he could helpful. All restaurant staff anywhere should be like this! Anyway, we visited our son who is in graduate school in the area, ate well and spent a lot of time in the city, too. We paid about 1/3rd of what we would have paid in downtown Chicago for a comparable place. We will be there again when we visit.

This hotel was a perfect fit for a family. They are looking for something that was safe and nice for a good price. The service was friendly and the rooms were clean. They are working on remodeling the place, I'm interested in seeing the finished product! It is simple so dont compare it to a 5 star hotel.

Location: This hotel is situated perfectly for visiting Chicago as it is minutes away from Dempster CTA station. Evanston is a gorgeous area itself and well worth exploring as there are many great restaurants / shops etc and you are within walking distance of two grocery stores. The rooms : Very spacious. We had a South facing room and so had a lovely view of Chicago. The maids did an extremely good job and the beds were very comfortable. The AC was powerful which was great for the hot Summer days. Amenities : We didn't use the pool/sauna ourselves but the business centre was convenient. There are only two computers but they're not used very often. The breakfast is continental and well appointed. I would also like to mention that the staff in this hotel are exceptional. Very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. Sam in particular is a credit to the hotel.

Made this reservation on behalf of a family member. I prepaid for the room with my credit card. She was extremely happy with everything the hotel offered. The staff members were courteous, friendly and very helpful. In fact they let her check in at 12 noon a full 3 hours before their check in policy of 3pm. The front office offered excellent advice regarding, coming from and going to O'Hare. The Hotel just 3 mins walk from CTA's Dempster Station in Evnaston (purple line). Over all a very positive experience for all of us.

My parents stay here rountinely when they're visiting Chicago. There's nothing particularly fancy about the amenities, but the experience has always been smooth and pleasant, and the price is right.

Absolutely do not go. My girlfriend and I checked-in on Oct 12 and checked-out on Oct 14. I woke up on Oct 13 morning with minor rashes on my upper body which later spread all over my upper body and was diagnosed as bed bug bites. Bed bug bites have an incubation period anywhere ranging from 24 hours to 9 days, my girlfriend just began developing rashes yesterday, and it is progressively getting worse. I called in to file a complaint on Oct 16 and the lady said their General Manager will call back on Oct 17 but there has not been a call since.

Very friendly and helpful staff. It was much more than I expected for the money. It's obviously dated but everything was clean. We had two rooms and one was more updated. When we checked in the man at the desk was dealing with some rude people and I thought he was very professional and courteous. They went out of their way to give us rooms on the same floor. I recommend it and will definitely stay there again.

In my recent stay I experienced terrible service. The staff was rude and uncaring. I witnessed them do nothing to help a foreigner who spoke broken english and mistakenly thought dinner was free (there are NO disclaimers warning you you will be charged). I experienced little better, they were just unpleasant to talk to. Also, $15 for parking a day is absurd. Word of advice, there is overnight parking 2 blocks down on the street with the YMCA on it. No free continental breakfast ($6 for coffee and cereal is a joke) in a day and age when I would come to expect it. Avoid this hotel.
