I was a little shocked at how nice this hotel was for the price. Very clean and the staff was friendly. Had a small problem with the TV and they were quick to switch us to a new room when they realized it wasn't a quick fix. The new room was only 2 doors down so it was easy to move out bags. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

This is one of my favorite hotels in Evansville. It's affordable yet a step above most of the others in its price range. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast is on point! Recommend HoJo to everyone and will continue to do so!

Nice place. Clean comfortable beds and a strong hot shower. Only suggestion would be to replace or clean the carpets. Nice staff and a good rate.

Husband and I stayed several nights. It was a great experience. Management and staff were very friendly. We will definitely stay here again. Rooms were clean and pool was awesome.

Upon arriving the hotel staff was very nice and I asked for another set of sheets because I am a germaphobic and they were very accommodating and sent them to the room within minutes. I wiped everything down when I went in the room but I did not see any dust or dirt. The bed slept very comfortable and we stayed on a Saturday night and I heard very little noise. There was a lot of kids in the swimming pool and there wasn’t much room to get in otherwise I would give it a five star! Great hot breakfast also! For the money you can’t beat it!

Check in staff fabulous they have a continental breakfast which is not all carbs to that's good rooms were clean and updated so nice place to stay, now for the real enthusiast this hotel is a Motel 6 on steroids updated Furniture but it's like staying in a Motel 6 but this one was clean so if you're paying more than $100 a night here you're getting took in my opinion at $60 it's a good deal and very comfortable and clean and the continental breakfast in the morning is good a lots of variety for everybody, staff was fabulous took care of anything any issues we had I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms were clean. We left for the day and came back housekeeping cut off the ac in the room. Not enough towels had to ask for them. But over all had a good stay. Would recommend. ☺

I'm pretty sure I've reviewed this place before but Google Opinion Rewards keeps asking so here's my (3rd? ) review. Recently renovated last year, the room is clean, the TV is big, the internet is pretty fast, and it's close to several reliable chain restaurants and the mall. Their soap is a bit weirdly oily though. Bring your own.

Am currently in a room here. I've not talked to staff but my bf has since he paid for it for working out if town and the remote wad nasty, TV stand was filthy and the wall by my bed looks like a booger on it. He says the shower is good! Bed sheets do have some stains on them.

Very clean. Great location. I'm from out of state and I was treated amazingly well. The best place I've stayed.

Friendly staff. Rooms were very clean and I searched under the bed and mattress. They used mattress protector. They use mini pillows and I suggest you bring your own.

This hotel is across from a shopping mall and adjacent to a Bob Evans restaurant, Firehouse Subs, and Taco Bell. It's a convenient location that is a short shuttle ride from the airport. Breakfast starts at 6 am. It had a nice decor, was comfortable, and the staff was helpful.

Price was good and the lobby was decent design and pleasing to the eye. Good location near mall and food. The staff was friendly and gave us an extra towel and a warm greeting. The room we stayed in had a few stains randomly placed on furniture. Batteries in remote for TV were dead. The walls are a little on the thin side. The quality was on par for the price. Would I stay here again? Yes if I was on a modest budget.

Nice and tidy place to say. Its a huge property on road and visible from traffic. Service is good, the room was properly cleaned. The breakfast is served from 06:00 AM till 09:00 AM.

Wonderful stay. Our room was convenient especially with our dog. The only thing was the pool was very green. They closed it off the morning we checked out to maintain it. Breakfast is amazing!

My son and I stayed here night before last due to work being done on my home. We checked in late and only slept in the room. My son got bitten by bedbugs in the few hours we stayed at this location. To be fair, I have stayed here several times in the past few months with the repairs to the house and never had a problem. I called the hotel to report the issue today, since I wasn't aware of it until late last night, and was told that if I didn't report it at the time if my stay too bad. Really? Too bad. I never complain about things and I've stayed several times, yet my child is bitten by bed bugs and I get too bad. If course they wanted to know what room. Although this may be petty on my part, I did not tell them. Maybe they have called id and can use that, maybe they'll have to refund other guests instead of just me. Good luck to them.

This place is extremely nice and very reasonable on cost. We stay here frequently. They are currently remodeling and they've chosen a very modern look for the hotel. I love the colors. The staff here is friendly, the breakfast is great and our overall experience is fantastic!

Nice room, location easy to get too, centrally located. Rooms updated and clean. King bed super comfy! Arrived late (10 pm) but overnight staff was friendly. Enjoyed our short stay. Used Priceline Express for great rate!

Very nice remodeled place to stay. I love staying here. It has a modern look and feel and it is very clean. I also love the rates. Its very inexpensive but very nice!

Clean room (and sheets! ), super comfy beds, 3 pillows each queen bed. Clean bathroom. Micro, fridge, and REAL freezer (great for cooler ice packs). Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Pool open and looked nice. Lots of shopping and restaurants right there. Good value for the money. Would definitely stay again.

The Howard Johnson was an awesome establishment. The service was awesome and the staff treated us quickly. I will say the outside of the build could use some work but overall everything was good with my stay.

We loved this hotel it wasn't our first stay in Evansville but was by far better than the other hotel we stayed in prior to the week we stayed at Howard Johnson! The hotel room was very clean and spacious with nice big comfy beds and heavenly pillows lol… The hotel staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to help us if needed they had a nice big breakfast with yummy waffles, muffins, cereal, biscuits and gravy etc my fiance loved his coffee and he's very picky about his coffee lol! The hotel itself was very nice on the inside and the cleaning ladies were very polite and friendly… My favorite thing of all was the beautiful swimming pool they have (seasonal) of course but it was the best part I spent my days by the pool while my fiance worked! Would recommend this hotel to anyone! If my fiance and I end up back in Evansville this us where well stay but for now onto the next job and mini adventures!

This was my first time staying at a Howard Johnson hotel and visiting the city of Evansville. The people were nice but my room didn't meet the standards. I reserved and paid for three rooms (room 106, 163 & 128) for my family and myself for the weekend and I was expecting my stay to be comfortable and at least clean. My carpet was dirty and had spots of juice stained in it. The tube looked very nasty. We went to Walmart to get shower flip flops and cleaning supplies to clean the tub. After trying to scrub the tub, we realized that the tub was just old. It looked as if the tub had been burned or that it was peeling. Also, the room had a smokey smell, even thought, it suppose to be non smoking. We made the best of the stay because the hotel was sold out and they had already deducted my money for all rooms from my card. Unfortunately, I was stuck at this hotel. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The only reason I gave two stars was because the people were nice.

My first experience walking into the room was an unflushed toilet. Needless to say, there were cleanliness issues. The staff was friendly, but very slow. There aren't many features that make staying here worthwhile, but I guess that's to be expected from a 2-star hotel. The beds are very outdated and uncomfortable, but I did take a nice nap in the shower.

The walk from the elevator to the room was excruciating after the Concert. But besides that it was amazing! Comfortable beds, excellent tvs, and warm showers!

Good location to several restaurants and shopping, all within walking distance. Friendly staff. Large, comfortable rooms. Many lighting options in the rooms is a plus too! Free Wi-Fi has great speed. Beds are a little firm, but still comfy. Good size shower tub combo.

The hotel and room were clean and in good repair. The breakfast was not good: stale biscuits, tasteless gravy, and the other food was not being restocked enough for the amount of guests.

I would give this hotel a 1 but the staff was very nice. I don't know if it is because we had dogs or what but we were put in a filthy room at the end of the hall next to the exit. All night long we heard people coming and going by the slamming of the door that woke our 1.5 year old son up all night. The room itself was so gross I didn't want my son touching the floors. Their was mystery stains on the floors that were still sticky from not being cleaned. The chairs were stained and uncleaned. The bathroom was the worst. The apparent black soap scum ring around the tube and the peeling of the shower and tub area had me bypassing bathing my son. Then I found hair in the tub and not just one sadly. Then I found hair in our towels. The bathroom also shared a common wall with the exterior and there was no heat in the bathroom. The front entry and check in area was very misleading to the condition of our room. I will also be contacting Howard Johnson once I get to our final destination.

Although check-in was great the rooms give a dirty appearance. Window glass looks like it hasn't been cleaned in forever. Bathtub looks dirty and doesn't drain. At all. Now I'm stuck with a nasty water filled tub that hasn't budged in hours. Place needs renovations and a good cleaning… stat!

Best Stay ever *****, nice clean hotel. The staff are amazing. My family was so tired when we arrived. The check in process was fast and easy. Great location. This will deff be my go to hotel… GREAT JOB STAFF KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

This hotel… it's nothing like they advertise! Breakfast is just bread and water down coffee. You CAN hear everything going on in the other rooms. Their is a 3 inch gap on the bottom of the doors, hence you listen to every housekeeping joke or comment, and not to mention that the hallway light SHINES THRU ALL NIGHT LONG! (I had to put a towel on the door) They say in Hotwire they have a pool (booking in the middle of Christmas hence you expect a indoor pool) NAAAAHH! (FALSE ADVERISEMENT NO POOL bc it's an outdoor pool). It's says it's a non-smoking hotel, yet I can smell cigarette smoke. The indian house keeper said she did house keeping in my room… what she ment to say was: I put extra towels, BC SHE DIDNT even do the bed, or placed new cups. Or even look to replenish the coffee cups, or leave at least a little bit of extra hand lotion! THEY ALSO TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR SMOKING IN THE ROOM 150.00 (BUT I DO NOT SMOKE! ) well played! (aparently it's a habit! ) SOOOOO… LOOK AT YOUR CREDIT CARD CHARGES! Their are way better hotels in Evansville. I got BUSTED! NEVER COMING BACK, and if this helps to anyone not from the area like me! SERVED IT'S PURPOSE! :)

Well the stay was alright to say the very least, the staff was incredibly rude. When checking out, we were charged an extra $150.00 to the room and decided to tell us at 10 a. M. When check out is at 11 a. M. And the couple that we were with didn't receive any kind of information regarding that charge when they checked out. They charged us for smoking in the room, which I am a smoker, but the multiple cameras would justify that I went outside EVERY SINGLE TIME. Room service is a disgrace, when they "checked" our room, they didn't replace anything but 2 towels and the one trashcan. They said the hallway had a funny smell, but I wonder if every room in our hallway was fully checked or charged just like we were, I know for a fact that I wouldn't ever pay to return to this hotel. The rooms had stains on the carpet, the toilet was very very slow to flush, the shower had terrible pressure. Basically overall if anyone is going to Evansville save your time and maybe invest a little more money or look for a better hotel, because this was a ridiculous stay… and to just drop an extra 150.00 charge only 1 hour before check out… insane. If you don stay here bring extra money, because you might get a bogus charge to your room. And don't even bother with the "free Wi-Fi" it never connected.

Very friendly service. Free Wifi. Breakfast was very good. Room was somewhat clean, but very dated. Benches, chairs and carpeting were stained looking. Water pressure was very bad.

Overall, we were very pleasantly surprised with our stay. The hotel is in a great location in the middle of everything. On the downside, the time on the alarm clock in our room could not be set, and the desk chair sat way too low (the pneumatic did not work) — — the alarm clock and desk chair should be replaced. We would stay there again on a next visit to Evansville.

A good hotel for the price (on Priceline at least), but the internet is really bad. Decent location, but seriously I think they have dial-up.

Got turned away from another hotel then came to the Howard johnson. The staff was super friendly and very welcoming the room was very clean, a couple of items were broken around the room but the hospitality and cleanliness made up for it. Wouldn't want to to stay anywhere else in evansville.

Jason on the night shift is awesome, room was very clean and omg the bed was comfy. Only thing is housekeeper left a cleaning towel in the room but overall great place.

Could not get maid service to clean the room, hotel was dirty.

Have stayed in hotels around Evansville for several months on business. First time here and booked it for a week. First blush it seemed clean and ok. What I found out was that taking a shower is an adventure; some days you may get a little hot water, others none. The "free breakfast" is slop; bisquits and gravy tasted like glue from 2nd grade. Of the 7 nights I stayed, housekeeping showed up 3, even though the staff would congregate outside my room in the mornings and yell and talk for an hour, then take a break. My key would not work most nights when I returned and on one night, the dull-witted desk clerk wouldn't let me into the room, stating that she showed I was checked out. Short version, another Wyndham dissapointment. Don't waste your time/money on this dive.

Rooms all smell like cigarettes. They have an incredibly rude staff. The day after Christmas, I overslept and the cops were called on me. Until that point I stayed there every time I visited Evansville. Of course by the time officers arrived I had already paid for the evening, so that was awkward. It got even more so when we called the manager (the police and I) via an employee; she appeared to be hammered drunk and at that point considering how often I stayed there, how I had paid for the evening, and how incompetent the staff clearly was for being in the (hospitality) industry; the police gave me a nod and said "We would never stay here again if we were you. " Total sh1t show; head to toe. Did I mention most of the rooms smell like smoke and there's obvious drug traffic? Probably how/why the room rates are so low on priceline. ($32) Don't be fooled by the fake reviews the holding company posts. Don't stay there if you have kids. And don't stay there if you like clean. But the manager is nice, I will say that much about Rebecca. She is just totally unaware of how horrible her staff at night is. Totally oblivious. I think his name is Doug. Not sure. Totally unprofessional guy and sits in the back watching TV or a computer his whole shift. Oh, and the staff kept going in and out of a room across the hall from mine the whole time I stayed last. Party room! Yeah, Rebecca probably doesn't know that either. Sh1t show.

My room was filthy. I'm glad I brought Clorox wipes.

We had great service, 11/21-11/22. The staff allowed us to check in early and easily. Helped with making sure my wife was settled in well, she had just had surgery, and answered every question. Hotel is obviously being renovated, mostly finished, looking really good.
