My husband and I stayed on property for 3 nights for our birthdays. The hotel was in perfect location. The staff is fantastic. They sent up dessert for our birthday. The hotel bar is fun. We also requested a late check out and we were granted it. The room is spacious and clean. Comfortable accommodations. Would highly recommend.

Checked in and received a lovely upgrade to this room with a fabulous view. Boats were dotting the water and sunbathers were worshipping the sun. 90 degree heat outside, so the view is terrific from inside!

The room was nicely appointed and the staff was very friendly. The location of the hotel is ideally located central to all the high end shopping my wife wanted to do. There was a strike by the cleaning staff while we were here and the hotel was still very clean well cared for.

The experience was nice. I like the bathroom was spacious and the shower had an extendable hose which is nice. The bed was unusual since the bed frame was smaller then the bed some if you sat on the edge the bed tipped a little of the frame. The view was very nice overlooking Chicago. The location wasn't far being right on the loop and not far from the observatory and many other attractions.

It is a beautiful hotel and a fantastic location. The cleaning person on our floor was amazing. My only complaint was that our keys did not work and I had to go back down to the lobby and was told that the battery was dead but I knew that was not the case but they would not issue me a new key so I had to go back upstairs and wait for security to come which took a while. And security came they said it wasn't because the battery was dead it's because the keys were not programmed correctly. I done had to go down again and ask for the keys with the security person so that I could get into my room. The security person did come back up with me to make sure that that set of keys worked. I was not impressed by the front desk person that I had to work with and all in all it took about 35 minutes out of my very tight schedule.

Second time we have reserved a suite, shown up and they did not have this particular room! Last night was the worst… Told us there was no chance of early check in because they were so busy… So, we got there at 3:45… "room was still occupied and needed to be cleaned, as they gave the people a 4 pm check out. WHAT? you're so busy and you give a 4 pm checkout? Still wasn't ready by 5! Kept offering a regular room… BFD! Finally had to take a regular room at 5:30, we had dinner plans… Not much of an apology. Whoever manages this place does a POOR job!

Was at the hotel for Seasonal training and this hotel was a great experience. From the moment entered parking garage customer service is exceptional. Training room was set up and beverage bar was stocked thru out the day. Had a great lunch in the restaurant and again service was superb. Thanks Westin for a great experience.

Checked in at 630 pm, and our room wasn't available. Had to wait an additional 30 mins. Room was clean and comfy. Staff was pleasant. No parking, have to pay which is expensive. Overall, nice place to stay.

We had an amazing stay at the Westin! We were celebrating our first anniversary and Teena at the front desk sent us a card and gift to our room to congratulate us. From the moment we got there, we felt as though every person truly cared about the guests. Another huge plus is that the location is unbeatable. Shopping and dining are everywhere around the hotel and navy pier and other tourist areas are a quick cab away. The room was clean and updated. I highly recommend this hotel and will be staying there again in the future. Thank you to Teena and all the staff for making our stay so special. -Abby Gibson.

The location is perfect, if you like the Gold Coast area closer to Oak St Beach. I've stayed in the Westin off and on for years. This trip I was disappointed in the smell (wet carpet/stale) of the rooms. I asked to be moved, and was, but experienced the same smell in the second room, so just stayed put. Staff is lovely, but the property suffers from (probably) not great air circulation and no ability to crack the window. The hotel is heavily used, and that is okay. But I wish they'd match their Heavenly Bed with a Heavenly smelling experience of the rooms.

Our stay at this hotel has been generally good, but several of the hotel staff and Cafe team have been far less than welcoming and friendly. Noticably so for us. Others like our doormen were quite nice, but overall there's an odd atmosphere with the staff that we weren't expecting for such a well rated hotel in a prime location. We can't take too much off our rating however as the room was clean and in great condition and the bed very comfortable. Just a slightly confusing experience from enough staff that it tainted our impression somewhat.

I was here for a two day conference held at the hotel. Checking in was easy and welcoming. The room was well furnished and comfortable. There were plenty if charging USB connections and regular outlets. Room service was excellent the breakfast was delicious and hot. The front desk gave wonderful suggestions for deep dish Chicago pizza the first night and to a delightful family italian restaurant in Little Italy the second. Even though I was here on business I enjoyed a fun and comfortable visit. Thanks.

Love this hotel, the rooms are so clean and spacious and some of the nicest suites in town. The staff are so nice and so very professional and love the way they treat you here, so outstanding and I really love everytime I come here its always the same pleasant experience! So if your ever in Chicago, this is a must stay place, a home away from home!

The hotel itself is in a very central part of town so it is always easily accessible. Not to mention that the staff was very friendly and gave great recommendations on where to eat around the city. The room itself was incredible with a view to match.

Great location on the mag mile. We had single king sized room and worked perfectly for our weekend trip. The bar down stairs was good too. Parking a little pricey, can find it for less in the lot across the street.

Love the room! The bed is comfy, especially the heavy blanket, love the weight! Love the interior as well. Both the room and bathroom are spacious, and it's clean. Friendly staff and service. Especially love the white tea scent!

Seems to be going downhill. They sent me. To the wrong room first, but before I was informed of this, I took a shower after the long flight as soon as I got in the room. Lots of long black hairs (I'm bald) in the shower and on the shower walls, and even in the upside down glass on the counter. When I got into the correct room later, the same thing was discovered. I'm not a germophobe, but that's still kinda gross. Bar and food prices are way high for what you get, and I had key card challenges the whole time. Staff was super friendly though, so I guess it wasn't all bad.

I visited Chicago for the first time last week and I stayed in this hotel. When I had booked it I accidentally booked for the wrong day and the hotel was able to accommodate me so that I could stay the night I arrived. The hotel is very clean, room was nicely decorated and had a great view of downtown area, plenty of room with a comfortable bed, and all the employees were very friendly. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. The price was decent as well. Thank you Westin!

Stayed with my family for weekend in chicago. Same friendly doorman has been there for years. Easy check in. Ggood service by bellman. We valeted the car. We upgraded the room and had micigan avenue view on high floor one door down from free refreshments and snacks with continental breakfast. All this was great and had a wonderful weekend. We have stayed here once a year for 6 years. Never any proble ms with hotel. For price it is an excellent choice.

I write a lot of honest reviews at the hotels we stay at because I hope that others will read them and make their decision accordingly. We have a daughter that lives in chicago and so we have stayed several times each year at different locations throughout Chicago. By far, the Westin was the most impressive! I would rate it very similar to The James in Chicago. The James is a better location on the Magnificent Mile, however, if you want to be treated with that extra specialness from the staff, stay at the Westin. We were treated so good! All those guys out front, they rock. Each one is more different than the other, but each one was respectful and helpful, without holding their hand out waiting for a tip, far from it. They truly enjoy their job and that was the best part about coming or going!

Last visited in 2011 and hotel felt grungy and old. Visit in 2017band everything seems updated and modernized. Same Heavenly bed you expect at Westin, same generic but comfortable rooms. Note: Because water pressure is limited, the heavenly bath rain shower system here does little to enjoy and if anything makes things worse. Better off if they just went with regular shower heads for pressure.

Beautiful rooms! Nice staff. Decent bar. Valet parking. Perfect for wedding parties. Location is ideal for shopping and exploring downtown.

The hotel is very clean, with large rooms and a pretty reasonable hotel bar. Great location, and nice view. Only complaint: The AC in my room was pretty non-impressive (to a point I wasn't sure it even worked).

The staff were exceptional with service. The room was very nice and comfortable, although the water pressure in the shower was more like rain than a shower. The view was definitely the thing that was lacking. My room looked out onto the center of the building so all I saw was my curtains and shades. The alternative would have been the 3rd floor roof and the staff that we're doing maintenance. If you are spending the night here insist on a room with a better view.

We had a lake view room, great visuals. The room was well decorated, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was attentive and helpful. We would suggest not using the spa services as it is a "petite spa" which means it is a room that they try to provide spa services. We had one massage that was acceptable and one that could not be classified as a massage, thankfully we were refunded for the 2nd service.

Great service. Room was amazing with amazing view. Great price found for same day booking as well. Parking was my only issue. Very highly priced.

Westin Michigan is a very nice hotel. It is elegant and classy and the service is very good. The front desk agents are very accommodating and helpful, concierge are knowledgeable and everybody are warm and nice. They have fitness studio, valet, restaurant. The location is also nice as it's by the magnificent mile.

The room was great — spacious, clean, newly renovated, modern — we just loved it. Some some longtime friends from college who live in southern Illinois came to the city to meet up and they loved the location. We were able to walk to many restaurants and shops and enjoy the sights. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Do not stay here. They messed up our reservation and gave us a room with two double beds even though we booked a king size bed for our room. While in line there were several people who were having issues with lost reservations even though they had paperwork confirming their reservation. They claimed they were " fully booked" and the only way to fix the situation was for US to pay an extra $170.00 to get "upgraded" to a king size suite. It was not a suite. It was smaller than any hotel room I have ever stayed in. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. They are a ripoff and do nothing to compensate for THEIR mistakes. One star is way too generous.

I came to town to watch the superbowl with my son who attends college. I chose this hotel based on its advertising of 55 inch in room televisions. While I was not really too concerned over rates it had a very good rate. Upon arrival the hotel lobby was very clean and staff very professional and helpful. Getting in later in the day I chose to stay in and order room service. The room service menu was priced out of control 24.99 for a cheeseberger you can imagine how much a steak cost. While waiting I began watching a hockey game on the TV when all of a sudden the TV changed channels. I thought I accidently hit the remote. Changed it back it back and ten minutes later it did it again. By this time room service arrived and I almost fell over when the bill was 59 bucks for a cheeseberger. 25% service charge delivery fee and taxes. To add insult to injury the burger was raw unedible and the fries still frozen. Little mad when the TV changed channels again I called to desk they offered to send maintanence for the TV but blew me off with the horrible room service. So maintanence arrived and tells me when signal is weak it auto defaults to the Westin channel and said he reset the system. So next morning still mad ovet room service the TV popped again. So I called frt desk who changed my room without issue. My son came over we had a great day and all was good. He went to rest room in the new room and said y didnt I tell him I got the floor wet. His socks were wet from leaking toilet?

Very disappointed in this Westin location. We always stay at Westin's but this facility needs some updating! Bed was not heavenly, old & hard, has never been the case before. Our bathroom had some smell that was not created by a human! Ordered amenity services to surprise my husband for his Birthday, it wasn't delivered & was told it was probably delivered to the wrong room. They did their best to immediately remedy but ruined the surprise & was also not what I had ordered. We'll stay at the River North location next time where we had a wonderful experience previously!

I've stayed at the Westin several times and would recommend it to anyone planning to be in the area. Great room and a great location for downtown activities.

More than what we expected in the deluxe room. Happened to get a corner room with beautiful views. The renovated rooms are fresh and modern. My only suggestion is there should be queen beds instead of full for more comfort and to match the cost and quality of the room. Also… make sure they are giving you the correct rate before you give them your card. Your reservation may not match the price in your Confirmation email. They are happy to correct it but it's an unnecessary inconvenience.

Executive longue access rooms are nicely renovated and spacious. The longue itself was a great perk with evening appetizers and Continental breakfast.

Everything is neat, clean, and modern. The service was incredibly friendly and kind. I spent my birthday weekend in Chicago and this location was perfect. I loved the Chicago night life and the way the Westin made it a comfortable stay when I wasn't out enjoying the city. The rooms are fantastic, the executive club is great, and they're affiliated with Starwood which is a cherry on top.

Great hotel… very pricy. This place is great for the fetival of lights parade down Michigan Avenue.

Rooms outdated and uncomfortable. I worked one full day in my room and found it to be very uncomfortable sitting at an awkward desk. My back still hurts. Housekeeping begins making rounds at 8 am, coming from San Diego, that's like 6 am. They charge for internet access, wow! Now that's sticking it to the guests for sure. Bathroom was good but didn't refill the soap… all in all kind of a cheap hotel. Hardly 4 star!

The check in / reception people are friendly enough and you can't really argue with the location but the hotel has a few issues. It feels a little dated for what they charge and the most absurd thing is that the hotel has house keeping start making rounds to clean rooms at 8am. God forbid you forget to put the privacy note on the door because you'll have house keeping running through the door like it's Black Friday at Walmart. The only person I'd be happy to see at 8am is Ed McMahon and that's assuming he has a four foot check instead of towels and mini soaps.

Conference stay. I went for a conference, spacious room with King sized bed. Clean linens. I loved the top quality cotton sheets. Clean spacious bathroom with tub. It had plenty of plugs and outlets for phone, computer, camera and tablet. There was ironing board and iron for clothing. They have a wonderful (if small) workout room that overlooks the street. Treadmills can attach to your smart phone to help with workout. The have some free weights. No pool. They offer extra towels and water in workout room, if needed. They have a FedEx office on-site. Computer cost $$ money to be able to use. Printing cost $$ money to be able to print. Wonderful food! We had a great butternut squash soup that I am sure was homemade. They also had a wonderful pasta and salad. We had 4 different meals, always good.

Google + tracked me on my search for hotel rooms in Chicago for the Dead shows so Google thinks I know enough about the Westin to "review. " I wish. If someone in the Google shop can fetch me Dead tickets, I will stay at the Westin and review it for your social network. I will let you track me until that cold day down below. We will all be happy. We are using Google docs for a collaborative thing so I am futzing with Google +. "Your review will be posted publicly on the web, under Sarah Dalton. " Stoked. If the "public"sees that I have no review for the Westin in Chicago, then the "public" may track me to make sure I have tickets not only for Rico and I, but also Manny, Doug, Dave, dude at the gym AND their wives/dates. So keep tracking me Google.

My stay there was average but the worse part was the billing process. I was charged for 3 nights on my card versus my employers — not a problem I thought, I'd just get reimbursed. The problem began when I called to correct something on the bill when I returned back home. I made no less than 10 calls and asked for assistance over the course of several weeks, left countless voice mail messages and not once received a call back. To this day they still have not returned my calls. I will never stay at another westin again.

This place is a complete embarrassment. I left and had the doorman take my stuff with me one block away to the Knickerbocker. I don't even know where to start. The bathtub flooded as I was trying to fill it while on the phone because the runoff drain was clogged. Upon notifying the front desk the manger on duty never responded and my request for another room was never addressed. At this point I had enough and wanted to leave. At this point the manager had the nerve to ask me to check-out and pay for the night. Absolutely ridiculous! It's also worth noting the security at the hotel is lacking drastically.

RUN, not walk, away! Would NOT take my dog there! Overpriced. Management and staff indolent and non-responsive. The "food" appears to be stolen from a Denny's dumpster. Seedy people lurking around the lobby. I suspect they are employees. It's unclear.

Loved the hotel! Yvonne at the front desk was great. I am a plantinum SPG member and she took care of my reservation when I asked for an early check-in since I was coming in to Chicago for a small medical procedure! The property is fantastic and everything you expect from a Westin in downtown Chicago.

The worst customer service ever! We had a suite and since they didn't have a suite ready for us they gave us a traditional room, without telling us, and still wanted to charge us. Then the front desk people tried to cover it up and not apologize for the inconvenience. Not to mention how rude they were! They make a mistake, and treat the customer like they were wrong. Also, the room wasn't ready until after 4:00pm when check in was 3pm. The bathroom in the room was dirty, the room was not dusted and it took over an hour for our bags to get to our room. The front desk manager (an older woman) was so rude! We will never stay there again and I HIGHLY recommend no one else does. Worst hotel ever.

Loved this hotel. Great location. Prompt service. Fantastic room. We did see the checkout line get pretty long later in the night. The bar is always busy and hard to even find a seat. The bed is just amazing as well as the shower. Buy booze a block and a half down the street if you don't want to spend 150$ on a bottle of goose.
