We had a wonderful stay in a great location and will definitely be back!

Love it! Always stay at the Talbott.

Everyone is very friendly, but the rooms are very noisy, the hydraulic installations of the surrounding rooms make noise every time they use the toilet or bathe and the rooms that face the adjoining buildings get all the noise from the air conditioning machines. You're not going to rest.

Good price for this location.

This was a family trip between my mom and I, and they were super kind since the first minute we arrived. The Talbott looks beautiful in picture but it’s even better in real life!. Room service was super kind and fast, they helped us with everything!. The room was super clean, large and cozy ❤️. The location is just PERFECT, it’s near almost everything. The neighborhood is so beautiful, full of restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, malls and just a few steps away from Magnificent Mile at Michigan Ave.
I would definitely stay there again.

First off it is in a BEAUTIFUL neighborhood, we were greeted at the door by 2 doormen, they helped with our luggage, as soon as we walked in the door the concierge was right at the door and said “it’s the birthday princess we have been waiting for you all morning! ” My mom and I looked at each other and couldn’t believe what an awesome welcome. When I booked the hotel in the notes I wrote that we were celebrating my daughters 9th birthday and this is going to be her first time in Chicago and we were going to the American girl store. A few days after booking the hotel they wrote an email asking her name because they would like to have a personal birthday card for her and an amenities. When I read it I thought how amazing! I believe the concierges name was Roanna (spelling? ) her and Dwayne were amazing my daughter had a smile ear to ear! Roanna told my daughter before we went up on the elevator that whatever she wanted she called down to her. Dwayne took us to our room super friendly and amazing! We walk in our room and on the bed was balloons and an American girl activity craft book! Dwayne told us a place around the corner to go get snacks in our room if we wanted them. We left the hotel checked out the city and when we came back to the hotel the hotel phone rang I answered they said they have been waiting for us to get back because they had cookies and milk for the birthday girl! Sure enough cookies milk and a personalized card were delivered. Room was HUGE! Very clean!

This hotel was amazing for a last minute weekend. Great location only a quick 5 minute walk to Michigan Avenue and other great shopping and attractions. Loved the front desk and concierge staff, so helpful and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again when I come to town. The room was great with a view and a huge bathroom with a deep, deep bath tub!

Beautiful building. Best service. Wonderful rooms and finally a hotel with a GOOD makeup mirror!
Also, the doormen are exceptional. They know the names of everyone on the block. They know the city like the back of their hand and they make you feel safe & secure as well always greet you in a friendly & professional way!

Loved this hotel and restaurant so much! Staff member Dwayne was very helpful and friendly, the gym was useful, the food great and the room stunning! Can't wait to go back :)

We loved our experience here. The Talbott Hotel had an upscale boutique vibe that was very welcoming. The very first person we met was Perry. Perry, as well as everyone at the hotel, knew Chicago so well they could give specific advice on recommendations on any and everything in the city. There is a reason why other people have mentioned staff by name, and that's due to making The Talbott a wonderful experience. Oh, and the room was great too. We stayed there for 3 nights, and would go back.

The Talbott Hotel was so amazing to work with for our wedding. We are from Kansas City and got married in Chicago so most of the planning was done remotely. The staff at the Talbott made it so easy for us. We kept in touch leading up to the wedding day and they accepted deliveries for us, assisted with picking out the menu, setting up rooms, printing menus etc. It was truly above and beyond what was expected. The entire staff also knew who was there for the wedding and was so friendly. The Talbott made this day so special for us, our family, and our friends. We would highly recommend it to everyone whether it is for a wedding or just staying for the weekend!

Planned a last minute trip to Chicago and was lucky enough to book this hotel. Such a great location and friendly staff. Literally every person we came in contact there from the moment we arrived was super friendly and made us feel at home. Not only is it great for people but they are pet friendly too! We brought our 6 month old corgi and they treated him as well as us. I can’t say enough great things about the place. Had a great experience and will definitely stay there anytime I come to Chicago. Your employees are great!

Enjoyed a weekend stay here on Labour Day weekend. You'll feel important here. The staff is wonderfully accommodating and the hotel is very clean and well kept. Our nights were quiet and comfortable, the room was spacious and beautiful. Clean linens, big TV in the room. Cozy bed. And those showers are amazing! Absolutely would stay again. The only con I have is that the elevators will teach you patience.

Very nice hotel for long stay; easier to reach as it is closer to the John Hancock building; you have many shops and restaurants nearby which is a plus; they do have a dine-in place but it gets closed at 9. Very nice spacious rooms and neat bathrooms with tub. Sit-out in the shower as well. 24/7 hot water; friendly staff, receptionist and concierge representative. Gym available for use! You have the option of getting $10 coupon everyday if room cleaning is not required! Very delicious breakfast and coffee! You have open space for dinner as well. Compliment dessert was delicious and yummy!

This is one of the best hotels in Chicago. Right from the moment you arrive everyone is really friendly and accommodating. Check in process is easy and they will deliver your bags to your room if you arrive early and want to go check out the city. My room was one of the nicest I have ever stayed in and I travel almost weekly. The attached hotel restaurant has a great selection of food and a full bar. Restaurant staff knew the menu well and was able to answer all my questions and even offered a great wine pairing. The restaurant is also a great place to grab a late drink before heading to bed. I will definitely be going back next time I am in downtown Chicago.

Clean comfortable rooms. The bed and pillows are super cozy. Friendly staff, upscale shampoo and soaps. Old school charm with modern touches. Close to allot of restaurants and shopping. The lake is only a 10-15 min walk. Pro tip if you are staying here a few days. Especially weekend, spot hero a parking spot 20 min away and walk back. Paid $20 from Friday — Sunday 3pm. Would stay here again.

This is a marvelous hotel with one of the best staffs in the business! They are friendly, professional and helpful and the modern furnished rooms are well maintained. It is also right in the heart of downtown with a lovely restaurant that has outdoor seating. It's a little gem and I loved staying there!

The service was impeccable. Everyone was so nice. It was her birthday weekend and they presented us with chocolate covered strawberries in a room. The room was beautiful. The beds were comfy. Thanks guys.

What a gem of a hotel — charming and quaint. I stayed in a Junior Suite which had lovely decor and the Jonathan Adler bath products were a real treat. Very friendly staff from the greeter and valet parking staff to the reception desk and concierge. Al fresco dining was a wonderful way to end my day and my Cobb Salad was delicious! Thanks for providing both comfort and charm!

Always clean, comfortable and welcoming. The Talbott has some of the friendliest staff members in the industry. The bar/lounge is excellent with a good mix of drinks, dining and snack options (some vegan / veg options as well). The rooms are quiet and relaxing. It is always a good day when you stay at the Talbott.

Nice location & choice for many of downtown Chicago excursions. Reminds me of the hotel 21c, an art exhibit and thematic hotel located in both Louisville, Kentucky and also Lexington, Kentucky. The staff is impressive in the ways that matter.

Friendly staff and ideally placed for all the Chicago sights including the hop on hop off bus tour. Breakfast could be a little more varied but hearty non the less. Rooms are large and well appointed. Free brolly for when it rains and nice lounge for relaxing in.

First class Hotel! Staff wonderful. We ate in the restaurant and Julia was our server. Made our evening very nice. Concierge staff, housekeeping. As you walk in everyone very so nice. Professional! Thank you for a wonderful stay on your property!

Nice clean boutique hotel. The gentlemen outside in front are AMAZING! Devin, Ray, and D at the bar made great drinks and gave stellar service! Michael at the front desk went above and beyond. Jane helped solve an issue I had and gave great customer service. The girls in the restaurant are so fun and knowledgeable and go above and beyond as well. I highly recommend this place… it was a perfect stay in a wonderful area! Thank you to their fabulous staff!

Love the Talbott hotel restaurant lounge. It's a relaxing, elegant interlude after a busy day. The staff is very friendly and care for you well. I just love their delicious version of a cheeseburger and I can substitute a raspberry vinaigrette spinach salad for the usual fries. Our new favorite place.

European style chic boutique hotel with many amenities that are found in 5 stars hotel. The staff is always courteous and attentive. The maid service that is provided every day is really good. Security is present. The rooms are nice, clean and updated. The restaurant provides great service and food. We had an American style breakfast here. Centrally located from many shops and event centers and within walking distance to the train station. I highly recommend this hotel!

Great people who work here. I was treated like an old friend the whole time. Very clean room and real quiet. The location was As Good As It Gets in Chicago!

Just redecorated! Rooms are very clean and clean lines. I preferred the European look they had before. The restaurant menu is updated but once again I think the old menu was better. The one thing that is exceptional are the doormen. They go above and beyond duty.

I enjoyed the menu and service in the bar/lounge. The only complaint was that it was so close to the main entrance that the door was open continuously on a very cold day. I'm sure that's a non-issue in the summer and found the food to be excellent.

The hotel is located in a good spot amongst many other nice hotels in the area. The room itself was small, but fairly clean. It had definitely seen lots of guests over it's lifetime, and that showed. It felt old. When I tried to take a shower in the morning, I found the hot water didn't work. I tried calling the front desk but no one answered. 5 times. I finally got through on one of my cell phones and the woman sent up a mechanic to take a look. Over an hour and a half later, the issue still want resolved, and finally I proposed letting myself use another room to shower. This came after I had already missed my meeting that morning. Oh, and the elevator was broken to boot.

A lovely Hotel with modern decor and a open and airy feeling. The room was spacious and well appointed. The restaurant and bar area was also very nice and comfortable. They do seem to have a little issue with the lobby and restaurant area temperature as all the cold air from outside kept coming in and it was very frigid the day I was at this hotel. Other than that I would highly recommend a hotel!

I booked the Talbott because it had a good sale for the night we needed. It seems to have recently been remodeled and was a nice hotel. Good location, reasonably priced food and drinks, and they will deliver ice to your room upon request.

Spacious rooms in a schwanky atmosphere made this a comfortable and elegant stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is right near some great shopping down Michigan Ave. And we were able to walk to most every location.

There was nothing this staff will not do for their customers! I've traveled lots and this was by far one of the best stays for me ever. There was no work desk in the room and the phone didn't work. A desk would've been nice, and we didn't know the phone didn't work until the front desk tried to call us. However, they sent a bell hop up to get the information to us that we needed. Would I stay there again? You bet I would!

This is a wonderful hotel in Rivernorth. They recently remodeled everything to be a bit more modern. I liked it the old way but it's still very nice. The staff that work there really are what make this hotel so great. Everyone is kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to any one looking for a great hotel near shopping food and fun.

Love this hotel: every time I am in town I stay at least a couple of days here. Location is fantastic and the hotel has that kind of warm personality I simply love.

Rooms are clean and nicely decorated, and the staff is fun and helpful. The free coffee in the morning is surprisingly good.

For someone who never experienced the old charm of the hotel (pre-renovation), my wife and I absolutely loved our stay from check-in to check-out. The location of the hotel is perfect and within walking distance to 80% of what the city has to offer from shopping, sightseeing, and of course the food, food, food. I’m missing it already. The Staff at The Talbot were amazing and extremely polite. Most of the negative reviews seem to be from those who don’t like the new look of the hotel, however, we loved it. It still has an old feel to the building with an updated look. I highly recommend this location.

We stayed at the Talbott hotel for a business Conference this is a great location to shops, restaurants, magnificent mile. The gentleman greeting us on arrival were so helpful and friendly. The staff really makes you feel welcome, Dwayne was so attentive and fun, thanks to everyone at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and reasonably priced. We really enjoyed our stay here in Chicago.

What a wonderful hotel. The staff were all so friendly. Dwayne made us feel like royalty greeting us and getting us moved in. I can't remember the other gentleman's name but he came in the lounge and sat and talked with us last night, making us feel so much at home. Even the cleaning staff were beyond nice giving up the elevator to us to get up to our room. All the valet staff were great and the bar tenders and the front desk. Can't wait to go back. Only thing to make it better would be a hot tub.

Very nice place to stay. Room is nothing special by itself, clean and well sized but staff is amazing. David the doorman in particular was incredibly helpful pointing out places to go and how to get there on our way out. Restaurant downstairs is recommended too, try the truffle macoroni and cheese! You will not regret it!

Great location, excellent breakfast menu. Very interesting and delicious options. Beds are comfy, Wi-Fi is strong, television can be hooked up to your phone.

Convenient to the activities we were taking in. We loved the generously sized room with all the expected amenities and then some. We had both breakfast and dinner at 20 East and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. In addition, we had a nighcap at the bar that we also enjoyed. The standout for us though was the people. Every single staff member we met seemed genuinely interested in making sure we were happy with every facet of our stay.

Great location and fantastic remodel. Would recommend to anyone. 20e restaurant has awesome food with a really cool atmosphere. Solid bar.

What a fabulous find. Great location. Great People. Wonderful room. I was so impressed. The Staff are there every step of the way. All I can say to one of my favorite destinations in the world, THANK YOU! I have been to the moon and back and then some.

Rooms were large and comfortable. The staff was responsive. Food at the hotel was really good. Only thing preventing 5 stars is that other guests were really loud (at ~3 am). You could hear them in the room. Better sound insulation would be great.

A very pleasant stay.

My stay at the Talbot was in 2008 possibly before Yelp and Trip Advisor had is absolutely correct this place was absolutely amazing. I'am not being exorbitant when I say I have traveled abroad and domestically, but the Talbot is unmatched when it comes to professionalism, kindness, courtesy, patience and care this Hotel's staff gives to the patrons! I am now trying to book next year, but there are no rooms available so I am thinking everyone knows about the once best kept secret. If you by chance have never gone, please deprive yourself no longer: make a reservation!

We were upgraded to 2 bedroom suite. Rooms size are generous. Staff are friendly and accommodating… location is perfect for us. Centrally located to shopping, tourists location, restaurants and park. Will definitely come back.

“European Elegance” Stayed for two nights and had a wonderful experience. It started off on the right foot when the doorman greeted us as we pulled up to the curb. He was an older gentleman who was warm, gracious, welcoming and sincere. The checkin was quick and efficient. We took a suite which was very large, clean and had everything we needed. The location was great was great for all of our touring. Just a great experience all around.

“Really good, charming and a surprise” Stayed there for three nights in August. Superb staff, great welcome and a wonderful (slightly old fashioned) room. Such a change from the usual city hotels. Parking was very expensive, but that is Chicago! Super cocktails and a welcoming feel all round. It is not ultra-modern (if that is what you like) but it has a lovely feel to it. Also allows use of a great gym nearby.

It's a fantastic hotel. I have been going there for four years with my family. Every year we are greeted by the same people and the save warm welcome. I love this place and wouldn't want it changed ever. I high recommend this girl for anyone visiting.
