Amazing hospitality and staff. Yummy breakfast.

Tried to redeem points at checkout. Staff didnt know how to do it. 3 days later — they still havent fixed the problem. Hotel is great but my word—this isnt rocket science. I am staying with Marriott.

The Sofitel hotel product was like an upscale European hotel. Really well situated and was luxurious!

I didn’t stay there (yet) but it’s an incredibly beautiful building, another jewel in Chicago’s world class architecture.

This was recommended to me by a family member I had visited there but never actually stayed until yesterday. I would recommend this hotel to anyone the minute you walk into the door they are extremely welcoming and friendly! I got a city view room as I was there to shoot a video and take some pictures. They gave me a awesome view of multiple different angles of the city view from the windows in the hallways to my room was fantastic! I will be back here awesome staff very clean room beds were so soft I slept amazingly. Highly recommend.

This visit has been one of the best experiences in my entire life! I don’t know what it feels like to feel rich but the plushness & the luxury of this hotel allowed my mind to shift to rich thinking! 5 stars for me! I’m ocd and extremely picky, Sofitel set the bar high for me. I will NEVER look at a place away from home and except nothing less than this stay!

This was a gem of a hotel in the city. The place is beautiful. Overall the check in process was super easy and smooth. The room and bed were AMAZING. The bathroom was HUGE and the linens we so soft. I would definitely return to this hotel to stay. It is French themed and so cool to experience the culture while there. I ate breakfast at the restaurant as well and the french options were to die for! 100%recommend this place!

Other than the valet service being slightly disorganized, and on vehicle delivery it seemed to take several minutes to drop it back off, our 1-night stay was great. Bed was very comfortable, loved the mechanical blinds and curtains feature, and bathroom was large and spacious with both shower and tub. There really isn't a good view looking out the East, not sure if the other direction is any better, but that didn't bother us. The price is a little high, but you get what you pay for, which is a good luxurious experience. Location is nicely situated in River North, could blocks from both Michigan avenue and Red line.

This was a very nice hotel located in a great location. The rooms were nice, the beds comfortable, and they had very spacious bathrooms, which is always a plus. The lobby was welcoming and very well taken care of. The staff was helpful and friendly. This is a hotel I would definitely be back to. If you are driving here there is a garage next door which means you can park for significant savings over thier valet service.

Had an awful experience with cleanliness. Multiple clumps of hair in the shower. So disgusting. I can not get the images out of my head. The manager comped our food for the night but was pretty stern about any other accommodations they could offer. I did have them send housekeeping up to re-clean the room but the damage was done. Gross. Gross. Gross. Also, the rooms are small. Their junior suite is a standard room most places. Chicago has better options folks.

A little bit late but I just wanted to say this is the best hotel in all the land. My husband surprised me for my 60th birthday (February) of 2017 with the Sweetheart Package. Chocolates, champagne, a perfect view, late check out and the most luxurious accommodations. A breakfast that cannot be beat.
This is not our first stay with this hotel and it won't be our last. The perfect blend of service and yet privacy too.
Need to start saving our pennies because we'll be back. …

The service was great! Nothing to complain about. Our check-in was at 3:00pm but we were able to check-in way earlier (11:00am). We dropped off our bags and they bought them to our door when our room was ready. They have a restaurant and a Bar on the first floor! One of the best places I've stayed yet.

This hotel clearly caters to French clientele traveling from overseas, and the hotel certainly embodies the feel of a nice French hotel in the middle of Chicago. The check-in process was quick, and the hotel staff were friendly and considerate. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated, and I especially liked the large, bright bathroom with separate shower and tub. I ordered from the in-room dining menu for one meal, and it was beautifully presented and was the best tasting meal I've ever had via room service. There were multiple pillows on the bed to choose from, and while I found the mattress to be a little too firm for my liking, I slept well nonetheless. I was concerned about being located in a room with close proximity to the elevators due to constant guest traffic, but I found the room to be well insulated against outside noise. I enjoyed my time at this hotel, and I would strongly recommend it to others visiting Chicago.

Excellent location if you here in Chicago for a short time (it’s right by magnificent mile). You can walk to anywhere. Room is well decorated and the entrance lounge is super pretty! There is a bar on the first floor and it’s a nice chilling place. My bf and I ordered a drink for each. There’s complimentary snack to go with drinks (nuts, olives, etc. ). Overall great experience.

One of the finest hotels in Chicago. The room was quiet, thoughtfully designed with amenities you would expect from a five star hotel. The location is steps away from luxury shopping in an upscale neighborhood. Staff is attentive and very friendly.

Real nice luxury hotel in great area near red line. Room on the smaller size but very quiet. Bed not the best. Big TV in hi-def. Good internet included. All the amenities expected of luxury hotel except for pool.

Great hotel, clean, well located and great price. Check-in service was easy and quick. Love the free grab-n-go coffee and croissants in the morning. Also liked the fact that foregoing a day's cleaning went toward F&B credit so I got breakfast smoothies too. Definitely recommend and will come back!

It is right in the middle of everything with easy access to get out of the city. Highly recommend this hotel.

I had an overnight stay at the Sofitel for a work event and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the bathroom and comfort of the bed. The towels were quality and soft, not those hard towels that scratch the heck out of you. I had breakfast the morning in one of the meeting rooms and the croissants, eggs and chicken sausage were fresh and delicious. The kitchen staff for the meeting rooms provided outstanding service.

We booked The junior suite on the 27th floor it was a beautiful room with great views. Room service was really good especially the steak. All the staff were friendly & polite. The in room massage was great. Definitely stay here again.

The worst manager I’ve ever met, I love this hotel based on it’s comfortable bedroom, but the attitude of the manager is terrible. I paid for 24hrs parking on spot hero, and I showed the confirmation to the valet, but the valet recorded our time wrong. I didn’t sign in to pay for the spot hero, so I couldn’t show any record when we checked out, so the manager had terrible attitude towards us, me and my friends doubted he was discriminated as we are Asian. He said we had no proves that I paid for 24hrs, but I showed bank statement to him. He said he doesn’t care how much we paid, he seems like he doesn’t believe that we paid the right amount, and he thought we covet little advantages. This is unacceptable as we are the guests, I would rate 0 if I could. I stayed in this hotel many times, and I would never come back.

We stayed in a king suite. The hotel is undergoing Renovations, but our room had not been renovated. Even though it hasn't been renovated it was still very nice. The entire hotel is extremely clean. Some of the furnishings worn, but as I said, the entire hotel is undergoing Renovations. We did sneak onto the upper floors and look at the renovations. Very very nice. There is a gym but no pool. The gym is nice, and has everything that you will need. The room service was fantastic. Over the stay I have the triple chocolate cake, turkey club, parmesan truffle french fries, and each morning we got the bread basket. All the food was very good. Room service is 24 hours which is always nice.

Not very clean! Suite 3107, the vacuum cleaner has not been passed. Cookie crumbs all over the place. The bath tub in the bathroom still shows the traces of soap on its flanks. Frankly, for a hotel of this class, it's unacceptable. Otherwise, for the positive, perfect location, nice rooms and very attentive staff.

We attended a fundraising event and it was very nice. The event space was large and had great views of the surrounding streets. The appetizers we're great, the staff was really friendly and accommodating, the facilities were clean. The location of the hotel is convenient. Would recommend this place for fundraising events or anything in the event space.

Actually, I was expecting a little bit more, being the Sofitel chain. But very good hotel and attention.

Excellent hotel and service. Room are nice except few small things. Location is perfect and the view is nice for the price. The magnifique romance package is good but could be better. Breakfast options are limited but the serving size is perfect and the taste is amazing. The hotel took care of my special request which shows nice attention to details. They could improve the package experience by integrating things in their app or the reservation details.

We had trouble with billing. It was prepaid and we tried to rectify this three times. This is only reason I gave four stars. Our room was immaculate, bed was extremely comfortable, and view was nice. The hot tea was a great touch in foyer. I can't say a negative thing about stay. I liked location near shopping, restaurants and a beautiful church.

My girlfriend and I stayed her for a night and it was an excellent hotel. I accidentally scheduled our booking for a week in advance so I was forced to cancel and rebook, but the hotel fully reimbursed me for the extra fees. Great rooms and atmosphere in the hotel and the staff is amazing. Overall I’d definitely call it a five star hotel!

The hotel is magnificent and it is very convenient to visit the city because of the central. It included a French breakfast even very early in the morning. Absolutely recommend it.

It was an absolutely gorgeous hotel with extremely friendly staff! I really enjoyed my stay there! The rooms were very clean and probably taking care of every morning. The bathrooms were also in great condition. I felt very welcome and relax at the hotel and would come back again.

We enjoy the greetings every morning and every time we came or left the hotel. Everyone we encountered in the bar or restaurant and front desk were pleasant and always had a "can do" attitude. We wished that there was a hot tub for soaking after walking/running all over the town. That would have been just perfect! Many thanks for a wonderful stay, Ginger.

We enjoyed the hotel very much. It was a recommendation from family & we were not disappointed. Your staff was very attentive & pleasant. We had a few room requests and they were handled very promptly which we really appreciated. Will definitely book with you again next visit to Chicago probably do the Jr. Suite next time for the extra space.

The hotel is magnificent new centric with an air of modernity in its details both in the reception dining room and bar as in the rooms the staff polite and very professional-the bouquet of flowers of the reception is spectacular.

To the staff & Management of the Sofitel Magnificent Mile, I want to sincerely thank you for making this trip so very special for my wife and I. Upon learning I was staying for the Marathon (as a runner), you went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. The simple Gatorade, granola bar and note (the night before the race) was an excellent gesture. The shuttle bus service to the start line was outstanding. You took off so much worry of mine on race day in order for me to concentrate only on my run. I cannot thank you all enough for such a wonderful stay and I look forward to returning next year!

Very nice hotel, very quiet with a staff of very high quality. I went to this hotel during the Chicago Marathon and everything was available to welcome us in the best conditions (breakfast from 5h, word in the room with energy bottle…). Bravo!

Was upgraded for my girlfriend's birthday to a nicer room. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. Room was clean and perfect for our 1 night stay. Great location! Would have liked to see more amenities in regards to hospitality (free breakfast, complimentary cocktail or two, complimentary snacks etc) but overall a fine experience!

I found the check-in / out process to be very quick and pleasant. I didn't understand what the resort fee was for as there is no pool or sauna, which was disappointing. Room was nicely designed and very quiet. Posted prices are exceptionally high, but got a good deal through a third party.

Lovely hotel right in downtown Chicago! Excellent accommodations and service! My friends and I were staying for a conference — this is my second year and her third — and we look forward to staying here. This hotel is located near many attractions and is just a short walk to the Navy Pier. If you aren't sure where to go or want to experience Chicago's best pizza, dogs, or just need to know what's exciting in town, be sure to stop and see Bernard at the concierge desk; he is amazing and always on point! I look forward to a return trip next year.

— The first room we were given had a really bad chemical smell, so we had to be moved. — We were in a room with 2 queen beds and found that the rooms were quite small, there was not much walking room once we unpacked our things. — The way the room is organized, we couldn't open the closet doors to put our things in because the bed was in the way of opening the closet door. — The bathroom was nice and spacious, I like how there was a tub and a stand up shower. — My friend and I ate at the restaurant and both ended up getting sick. — The staff was quite friendly and even when told them about our experience at check out they were very polite and accommodating which ended our trip on a good note. They truly made the experience.

Everything about my stay was wonderful. From the excellent customer service, to the beautiful room, was amazing. The bed was just the best! I slept the best that I've slept in a long time. The room was clean and beautifully decorated and comfortable. The views were amazing. And the staff was great.

First time staying in this chain and we will definitely be staying at a Sofitel hotel again. Their customer service is extremely great, from the moment we stepped on the sidewalk of the hotel, all through the check-out point. We loved the attention of the team, they always greeted us and had a smile on their face. The check-in and check-out process were extremely smooth and we loved the way were treated. The room was well equipped, clean and very comfortable, with an unforgettable view of the city. Keep up the great work!

The service was top notch and the location is great, walking distance to Gold Coast strip, Oak Street Beach, and millennium park. There is also a Whole Foods just a few short blocks away. The lobby area was very lavish and hallways were nice and quiet. The room was super quiet, unlike many hotels where you can hear your neighbors' every word. The only negatives I had were with the room smelling a bit damp, and no real space in the fridge for necessities. Traveling with infants and/or small children make mini fridge space a necessity. Most places have the mini bar stocked, however, also have room in the fridges for personal items. That's just nit-picky. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay, and appreciate the wonderful staff here. Every single staff member was top notch!

We enjoyed the kindness of the bar staff and the cafeteria and the Concierge's advice on the choice of excursions during this short stay.

My car was stolen from Sofitel Valet a month ago… I'm a 32 year old single girl, and I was traveling for business. The hotel comped my $71/night valet parking and have not contacted or responded to my emails since. The night I was robbed, no one bothered to check with me or help me contact authorities to locate. The next day I asked to see the surveillance video and was told I can't and they can only turn over to Chicago Police if an officer requested it. After my own perse…verance I learned that they saw the robbery on camera. Nothing was done! None of the employees were questioned and the valet was no where to be found until the car showed up missing. The valet company never called to speak with me. Instead an aggressive woman called me to say that they are not taking ownership of the missing vehicle and it's not their problem. I have only asked Sofitel to compensate my personal loss… a set of golf clubs I've been saving for since 2015 valuing about $1200. I had a pair of sunglasses too. If this happened to my Little Sisters (pictured) in a Big, Dangerous, City. I would hope the hotel would make her feel secure and at the very least check in to see how she's holding up. Not a thing. Terrible situation I've been in for the past month. When I returned from the trip, I took a Concealed Weapons Course and feel a need to protect myself and my pets. Shamefully, it's not a big deal for Sofitel's guests to be violated while in their care. This is not how you treat people.

Superb hotel, personalized welcome, attentive staff perfectly well balanced (very present, answering, without obsequiousness),. Well placed at the top of North Michigan Avenue, very close to the main shopping signs. Very comfortable rooms, beautiful beds.

The hotel is very well located. The suites are of high quality, complemented by the kindness, friendliness and efficiency of the staff. The only downside is the breakfast which is not up to par with the rest. The orange juice is not fresh and one would prefer by far a buffet to a map not always adapted to our desires.

They have a mini fridge in a four star hotel that is pressure sensored if you move an item they automatically charge you for said item, which you have to dispute upon checkout. So if you plan on bringing a bottle of water plan on paying 10$ for it. A miniature fridge is there for the guests convenience, whoever designed this system had a good idea but does not work in the real world. For almost 500$ a night stay somewhere else. If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. The fact it is a 4 star hotel baffles me.

The location and the service very good. The décor in the rooms seemed to me regular, they can begin to remodelarlas. In general the experience of my stay was very good.

Sofitel Chicago was a high class experience in the middle of the city that man, did I feel underdressed for walking in dressed in a pair of scrub pants. The staff was very courtious and friendly, we were checked in promptly. The bed is ridiculous soft and comfortable. My only real complaint is the lack of available fridge and the room environmentals didn't seem to get the room cold at all.

Well-designed and comfortable French-owned hotel, within a very short walk of Michigan Avenue. It's even closer to several great restaurants! The lobby is welcoming, both as a place of entry and a space to relax or wait for your party to arrive. There is a lively bar and restaurant on site, as well.

Everything was nice and very well decorated. Services were nice but there were a couple of people at the front desk that weren't very friendly. One other downside is not having wall sockets near the bed and not having enough power sockets in the room.

I have stayed here many times and I'm never disappointed. The service, food and rooms are always great. The beds are heaven and room is well insulated from city noise, can't hear a thing. Brilliant hotel, always coming back when possible. Highly recommended for work or leisure — easily one of my favourites. My only minor gripe is that the gym could be bigger, would love to see this get upgraded.

Enjoyed our stay. Clean rooms, nice attentive staff. Wish the complimentary croissants were available for a reasonabletime in the AM considering the price of the rooms. Was disappointed when we went to get our coffee at 9 a. M. And a croissant to find out that they stop serving the croissants at 7 a. M. Other than that it was a good stay.

Wanted to get some drinks I had brought with me cold but didn't know where to get ice. I called the front desk and they said they would send do some up. Within 15 min someone was at my door not with ice but with a refrigerator! I was impressed!

I was there for a wedding so I can not give a fair review of the services. The facility was very clean, including the bathrooms. I did not have much interaction with the staff but the limited exposure I had was positive. I had an overall positive experience but cannot recommend nor state anything negative.

Fantastic room and great location. The service overall was great but their seemed to be a lot of confusion about the romance package available on the website and what the hotel offers. The website experience was really bad but would definitely stay at the hotel again.

I went to a business conference that was at this hotel. After the business conference there was a small open bar sponsored by the business conference. The bar tender was not allowed to have a tip jar because supposedly it was too "classy" of a place. What ended up happening is he was tipped very little. He was not tipped very little because the patrons were cheap. The patrons just had nothing to remind them of tipping as they were too preoccupied with making business contacts at the conference. Surely they would have tipped if there was a tip jar serving as a friendly reminder. I spoke with the bar tender afterwards and he said they his hourly pay is very little and he depends heavily on these tips. Shame on Sofitel for not allowing the innocuous tip jar to be displayed for their hard working employees.

Le bar: Unbelievable crab cakes. Nice wines and whiskey. Lovely bartenders. Yummy bar snacks.

Amazing place! We stayed the night and got ready here for my sisters wedding, super accommodating, helpful, great service, etc. Could not have asked for a better place to stay before her wedding it was great :-).

Just wanted to give a big shout out to the Chef and Staff at the restaurant! We did not stay at the hotel (which we had! ) but, had breakfast outside every morning there. The menu and food was Fresh, Healthy and Delicious! The presentation was amazing! Being a past caterer and designer. I am picky and am all about good food and presentation! We loved the Buckwheat Blueberry Pancakes — — just filled with fresh blueberries. They brought around fabulous choices of pastries! The French Pressed Coffee was great too! Great job Sofitel! Can't wait to go back next time we are in Chicago and will look for Sofitel wherever we travel! Keep up the good work! You have set a good standard.

I have yet to stay in a Sofitel that didn't strike me as being true luxury at a mid-range price. This one is no different. Exceptional service from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. Beautiful, large, plush rooms with lots of added touches. And an excellent location, walkable to the El "Loop" or the Mag Mile. Only complaint (a very small one) is that the lobby feels crowded.
