My wife and I spent three nights here at the hotel. I am writing to review after one night's stay. Check in was seamless and front desk staff was friendly, polite and helpful. The lobby was beautiful and conveyed a grand feeling as you enter the hotel. There was a lively beat to hotel, there were back-to-back weddings at the hotel two nights in a row while we were there. We ate at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse. Service and food were acceptably good. Guest room was in good condition. It is roomy with large windows, and looks well kept. The hallways were also well maintained, and elevators worked well and reasonably quickly. We were on the 20th floor, and despite that there was quite a bit of street noise. Likely enhanced sound proofing would be beneficial. However noise level inside Hotel was at a minimum and we did have restful sleep.

Very clean really nice. Stayed in the old tower. The pool is very nice and the fitness center is more than just treadmills and a set of dumbbells. The hotel staff is very nice and friendly. Everything you may want to do as a tourist is right down the road. So far I have only been here for two days but I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful hotel in downtown Chicago surrounded by tons of shopping and restaurants! Nice large rooms. Michael Jordan steak place in lobby is pricey. Starbucks off of lobby is perfect. Two blocks from waterway. Pretty good Fitness Center but only have ellipticals and treadmills, no weights. Amazing pool. Bustling area of town!

The best hotel Ive stayed at downtown. The location is right on point. Staff was very friendly. Sheila at the concierge desk was the best! very friendly. Helped us find a restaurant near by and booked our reservation for us. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Magnificent hotel as its name implies! Staff here were all very helpful and friendly! The location couldn't br any better if your touring the town as it puts you on the Magnificent Mile and close to many stations for transit. Rooms are newly renovated and appointed nicely. There's a lot of room to relax! My room was a King Executive Tower City View. I had great views of the Magnificent Mile and River also the Willis Tower. I want able to take part in Michael Jordan's Steak House but heard great things! There is a Starbucks located off the hotels main lobby but it can be quite busy there, best to mobile order while getting ready in your room if your in a rush! I plan to stay here again in the near future!

The Intercontinental has earned our loyalty for every future visit to the city. We have stayed here multiple times, but had chosen a smaller boutique hotel this visit to be nearer our daughters’ apartment. The experience at this particular boutique hotel was absolutely horrific. We were booked for two nights stay, but found things so abhorrent we needed to find accommodations elsewhere. The Hotel, including the parent group, were reluctant (unwilling really) to help at first. We were told the rooms were prepaid and could not be refunded. It was not until my wife went down to the lobby and shared our concerns with the makeshift front desk staff in a public way that we were able to make headway. In the interim, I called the Intercontinental and asked about availability. Our primary concern was getting checked in as it was 9am and we had family coming in to join us for our daughters graduation. We had 2 rooms at aforementioned boutique for all to get ready. The person on the reservation line listened to our plight and immediately suggested we speak with one of the front desk managers. She then transferred me to a gentleman named Lucas. Lucas listened to our story and immediately apologized profusely for our experience with this other hotel. He then asked for my patience as he took some time to look at the Intercontinental’s availability. Lucas was able to arrange a room for our families to get ready for graduation then find the second room we needed for our overnight stay.

We visited the Eno wine bar located in the front side by Michigan Avenue. The wine bar shares the same entrance as the Michael Jordan restaurant. Decent selection of wines and we'll known for their flights. Selection of chocolates, cheese, and other food item to go along with your wine. It's not a full scale restaurant but they are enough options to not go hungry. I would definitely recommend it.

All the hotel associates were fantastic. I loved their attentions and kindnesses. The only thing that gave me work was the doors. The main doors to the hotel are revolving. For the room, the entrance hall to the room is narrow and the door is heavy. If you have luggage/suitcase that crawls down a kids car it is an event enter. It is better to go with a baby sling and with spinner type baggage. Otherwise you have to walk through the door to the hotel and cross your fingers that do not get bruises passing the door of the room with suitcase and car. I know you can't avoid what I said but the staff and the beauty of the hotel apologize for the inconvenience.

Great hotel with central location for touring. This is a great place for a family as the pool and spa area is very nice, large, and indoor — important for the climate most months. Competitive rates for quality of hotel. You can get exceptional rate during Christmas time. Staff is friendly. Hotel extras like parking, food, and drinks are v. Pricey… but it is Chicago.

This great location is walking distance to many major Chicago sites. I visited very briefly on business but had such easy access that I made it down to the famous bean as well as the Art Institute of Chicago. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room, while acceptably clean, was outdated with visibly worn furniture. The rate was reasonable and I have no real complaints other than expecting something a bit fresher.

Located at the heart of downtown. Accessible to most places on foot. Hotel is clean & convenient. Nice to relax by the poolside. Love the restaurants. Breakfast is great too. Exceptional customer service. Room is clean always.

I do not give 5 stars, because we wanted to charge a few bottles of water in the room, which we never consume. Outside of that detail we really liked the hotel.
Highly recommended Michael Jordan's restaurant, excellent cuts. They also have children's menu and the pizza is an excellent choice for them.
The buffet of the hotel restaurant is highly recommended for breakfast. The omelets are Buenisimos and the Chef very friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay and all the extra amenities are in the rooms. Tower 1 has basic rooms and serves the purpose. Tower 2 has the deluxe rooms that also have a couch and easy chair too. Rooms in this tower are more spacious. Nice Keurig brewers are in the rooms for making individual cups of coffee and tea. Michael Jordan’s steakhouse is downstairs and has very good food especially when it’s — minus temperatures and you want to stay in. Room service had pretty good food. Just be prepared for room service fee and then tip fee for this. All in all near everything you want to go to and see.

Beautiful hotel in the city center of Chicago. Super recommended. Steps away from the beautiful Down Town buildings and museums and shopping malls.

The elevators are quick so there was never a long wait. Good room service. Nice location. Nice hotel. I would stay again.

Excellent hotel. Very good overall attention, except for an older, thick and white-haired lady who caters in the lobby. He's a rude listener.

We stayed at the Intercontinental over the weekend for a volleyball tournament. It was a little rough trying to find the parking lot, but we pulled up front and the valet parking was great! They gave us a discounted rate with the tournament and the discount was more than I expected. We were late getting in and the staff person at the desk to the left waved us right over and began checking us in. She was more than accomodating and noticed that we looked a little stressed from the city traffic at that late hour. She quickly checked us in and gave us each a bottle of water while we waited. She then gave each adult a voucher for a free drink in the bar. It didn't take her more than 5 minutes to go through everything and she was very thorough. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed and more for the 3 day weekend. Safe, fridge, blow dryer, robe, coffee maker, etc. We never had to call to ask for anything, the room was cleaned and restocked daily. The hotel is located in a great place on Michigan Ave and we were able to find shopping, dining, coffee, entertainment, everything we needed in walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and if I ever find myself in Chicago again I will be staying there.

Our friend was staying there. We only saw the lobby, gift shop, bar and restaurant. Very nice place. The door man was very courteous and friendly to everyone who walked in to or out of the hotel doors. After we came back from dinner, we had some drinks at the bar, which was a nice experience.

Amazing hotel. Centrally located and walking distance to everything. Amazing staff who made our stay easy, comfortable and fun. MJs restaurant is superb. Definitely my pick for Chicago.

Was here for a charity gala. The catering was some of the best I've ever had. The food in particular was actually really good, in contest to other catered events I've attended. The cocktails were very expensive, but beer wine and champagne were hosted. The event space was beautiful, and the building location is right in the heart of downtown. A great spot for walking around before and after, and the building itself has some nice views.

Great place to stay in Chicago. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are in good condition and clean. It has a restaurant and a subway in the lobby level. I had a great experience overall. Would definitely stay here again.

No fuss. Helpful staff. Loved my stay. Was here for a conference. The rooms were nice, clean, comfortable and had good amenities. There were a good number of lifts so you weren't generally waiting on one for long. The conference facilities were really good. The catering was good quality with variation in the food from day to day. The AV equipment was faultless. The restaurant was also excellent: Michael Jordan's bsteak house — great steaks!

This hotel was marvelous. We can't wait to go back. The pool is great almost to the point of being unreal. My only complaint is that you really couldn't use the refrigerator because it was full of overpriced "snacks" and booze. Way overpriced! The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Very friendly/helpful staff. Room was compact but nice. Beds were very nice. Hall carpet on our floor was very worn and had a slight oder. The breakfast there is mediocre at best, not the $25 they charge so take a short walk for breakfast you will be much happier. It also cost more to park my car there than the room did.

One of the best hotels to visit Chicago, you have many options for sightseeing, well very good shops, like restaurants, the hotel restaurant is very good also the attention. Fully recommended.

I’ll be coming here for a wedding in February 2018. I have high expectations for this location Intercontinental brand. This venue has a great deal of competition and certainly has opportunity to improve. As you might think a standard room on Miracle Mile is not at all spacious. The amenities are not many but the rooms for their small size are pretty well appointed. The front desk staff is well trained, the hotel could use some updates, and of course if your going to park be ready to shell out some $$. January through March is the time of year to stay here, pricing is excellent, but by April and near Food show time, be ready to pay. Great location, and very close to all shops and sites in the area. Location, Location.

We had a standard room with two double beds which was very cozy. Definitely not room for a fifth full size human though. The exercise room was nice but the pool is amazing! Definitely worth a stay!

The best thing about this hotel is the pool. My children loved swimming there. Besides that I was very unimpressed. The front of the sink in our bathroom was completely cracked and ready to fall off. The shower had. Large crack running from the! idfle of the wall to the shower head. The staff was mostly helpful but failed to help us get a taxi that would fit all 5 members of my party every time we asked for help. The location of this hotel is great but it's not worth the steep price.

Absolutely customer oriented. Did everything to make sure we enjoyed our stay & that we were comfortable. The room & amenities were altogether welcoming & the breakfast buffet was a true treat. We will definitely return.

Great food. Room service is excellent. The restaurants in the hotel have a good selection. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Great place to host a meeting. The ballrooms are beautiful.

I've stayed here twice during two separate times of the year. The staff is attentive and friendly, check-in is always a breeze. I was able to secure a room by walking in after a flight cancellation & using my reward night with my IHG membership. It is located in a great spot & never a hassle to get a ride to and from the hotel. Rooms are clean and perfect.

The rooms here are gorgeous! I heard they recently did some renovations to the rooms and lobby areas. It's a beautiful hotel and affordable for what they offer. I do wish there was more personal space in the mini fridge, however. I'm a nursing mother, and if I was staying more than two nights it would have been an issue.

Great location, the service is great and very friendly, but the rooms are not as I expected. They are run down, looks dirty in some cases. I expected a impecable room for the price and location. Update (a day later) Today I walked into my room and found a beautiful note apologizing for the room and letting me know that there is another room ready for me If I wish to change. This is an excellent service that could be consider the wow factor. Great service and recognition is hard to find. Thank you for response and taking the time to consider my post as a suggestion for improving the experience of staying at a nice hotel.

The location is Central to everything. The rooms are very clean. The ambiance is nice. The guest services are friendly. The food is amazing. I enjoyed the imperial India theme. The color scheme is pleasant. The food is nice, clean and fresh.

Attended a wedding at the hotel and stayed overnight as a guest. The hotel is beautiful and well kept, and every employee there was fantastic to interact with. The room was nice with a very comfortable bed, and nice decor. My only complaint would be the bathroom is tight, and not much room for two adults in there at once.

When we first arrived at the Intercontinental, we were warmly greeted by Will, the bellhop. He greeted us with a smile and his warm and friendly demeanor. He not only started our stay off right, but anytime I ran into him, he would take the time to have a conversation with me. We checked in and were greeted by the nicest people at the front desk. Unfortunately our room was not ready, so we went to the bar while waiting for friends to arrive. I went back a while later and spoke with Billy B. Who was the such a pleasure to speak with. He inquired about our room and got us checked in faster than what I thought it would be. Next up was Keenan who brought our bags up to the spacious, clean room. Keenan is the coolest! Anytime I ran into Keenan during our stay, he greeted me with a huge smile and never forgot my name. No matter what I asked for, Keenan made sure to get any request fulfilled immediately, even when I told him not to hurry. It was raining the day we checked out, and Keenan literally held an umbrella over me while we waited for our Uber. The room, the service and smiles we received from the Intercontinental staff made our experience a truly wonderful one and we will definitely be going back to stay. The rooms were super clean, the beds and pillows were just like being at home and the cleaning service was impeccable. Will, Billy B. And Keenan are truly wonderful, classy gentleman and I'm looking forward to my next stay because of them.

Great hotel. Bit pricey for my taste. They do offer parking for your car or truck. But you will have to leave your keys with them. Just don't leave anything in you vehicle you don't want to see missing. Not saying that they are dishonest or anything, but it is Chicago!

Couldn't check in until 4, but the suite was worth it. They brought us up fruit and chocolates, and gift certificates for drinks at Michael Jordan's and Starbucks. Very lovely desk clerk checked us in. The bellmen were very helpful and friendly. Concierge was great at helping us get to different places.

Very nice hotel in middle of magnificent mile. You can walk to all stores restaurant and Navy Pier. I stayed on 26 floor and view from window was great. Bed was comfortable and had a good sleep.

Great rooms! Fantastic service! We recently hosted our daughters wedding guests (about 48 rooms) at this hotel and everyone was very pleased. Tara Hubbard was a joy to work with and did a very nice job taking care of everyone in our room block and their special needs. I'd give 6 stars if I could!

Great location. Has an old school feel to the banquet halls. Excellent food. The hotel has a very large pool. The pool however is not very kid friendly as it's ~4ft deep at the shallowest end.

Great service at the front desk. There was a long line, but they were fast and efficient. Rooms are very clean and surprisingly spacious. A few bar options that have great atmosphere. Both quiet laid back scene and then the Michael Jordan bar is a loud, fun scene. Great location in the city with lots of shopping and restaurant options.

I stayed here for business. I really enjoyed my stay. It's well located on the Magnificent Mile. It has a Starbuck's in the lobby along with the Michael Jordan Steak House. At checkout is a large video wall and I enjoyed watching it when I went through the lobby at different times. A nice room with a partial view of the city. It was clean and well updated. I had a desk outlet problem. With a text and maintenance was there quickly. I loved the Grand Ballroom. During my meeting I was distracted by it's beauty. The large Dining Room with ornate decorations and quite tasty food. Mostly Mediterranean decoration throughout. Although I didn't swim, I did go to the swimming pool. Revitalized in it's glory as it was built in the 20's. If on a budget this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a well located hotel it's a good option.

I loved if you come to Chicago I highly recommend it and the room standard is enough for 5 days. It has air conditioning and heating. Shower and tub. The beds depends on your preference. I love it if you go to Chicago I recommend you this hotel the standard is very good for 5 days. Have cold air and hater, tub and shower, the beds are of your preference.

This is a beautiful hotel in downtown Chicago. It's in a great location with easy access to many places. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bathroom is easy to use. I would like to see more lighting and more counter space in the bathroom, but otherwise it's a good place to stay.

Rooms were excellent, staff was wonderful. I did put up do not disturb notice but housekeeping still knocked, button may have been broken.

The Intercontinental is a fantastic hotel in a great location. My room was very nice and had all of the standard amenities. Probably the best thing about this place is the pool which appears to be a 20 yard pool so you can actually swim laps. As a swimmer this is fantastic however from my experience I'm not the only swimmer who knows about this place so it can be a little busy.

I stayed at the intercontinental hotel for my bachelor party weekend. Accommodations were clean and very nice. Staff was very friendly and very helpful to us. I would definitely stay there again.

If you're trying to find a really great deal on this amazing hotel I'd highly suggest booking it through HotelRaven. Com They have great deals for it on there! Such a perfect place don't have enough great things to say! I'm giving this hotel a 3 star for several reasons. First, the location is great. Hotel is nice. Second, I needed more towels since I wasn't allowing housekeeping to come into my room. I asked the housekeeper in the hall. She had to go into a closet to get them but had to open each towel and check them to make sure they were really clean. Not sure what that means… Why, do they fold dirty towels? Third, my friend and I stayed in room 667 for three night both woke up the last morning feeling horrible. Both of us went to the doctor when we got home and were told that we had the flu. I called the hotel and asked to speak to the manager to inform them of the outbreak in that room. Hopefully, they'll clean the room properly.

Nice hotel. Well situated on the Mag Mile. Only free Wi-Fi for platinum level IHG members, however.

Booked through Hotwire, so paid a highly discounted rate to begin with. Even that said, room was very tiny, bed not very comfortable, and certainly not worth 4.5 star rating. The final straw is that even though my booking was prepaid through Hotwire and we used absolutely no additional services/expenses while there, a $100USD charge mysteriously showed up on my card after returning. When I checked out, I was told everything was prepaid/covered, and this additional charge was not mentioned. Totally unacceptable business practice.

I am an IHG ambassador member and I feel that I was treated extremely unfairly, I asked for an upgrade numerous times, that is something that is guaranteed to Ambassadors no questions asked. I called the Ambassador Services Department before I arrived at the property and wanted to confirm with them the room type I would be getting and they told me that I would be receiving a deluxe King Bed Suite. While on my way to Chicago I called just to confirm this information with the property… They told me that they could not accommodate me because they did not have it available for the room nights I had reserved. Unfortunately this information was false, I checked the website to see what they had available. It is really unfortunate that I was treated this way. I would expect more from an IHG Intercon property. This isn't the first time I've had an issue at this property. Why go through all the hassle to upset someone when they can just accommodate guests properly?

Rooms are ok sized, not big by any means. Amenities are very limited but does offer free fast Wi-Fi for IHS members. Breakfast with a large selection.

Great location. Rooms are a bit outdated, especially the bathrooms. The gym is under renovation. But, the location is great, front desk and bell service are great.

Hotel is older with character. Positives are a great location and nice pool. Sheets were scratchy, not as nice as the IC NYC. Overall the hotel is fine but not the best IC I've stayed ar.

the property is huge and refined down to the small details! It's nice and spacious too.
the room we got had a king size bed and be more comfortable. The room was very roomy with 2 desks. The bathroom was huge and had both a shower and bath. On the ground floor of the hotel is also a truly elegant restaurant and owned by the famous basketball player Michael jordan. Finally, the icing on the cake was the buffet, never seen a more varied and plentiful breakfast. There was everything from American breakfast (bacon, potatoes, eggs, pancakes etc. ) fruit, passing for croissants, cold meats and pastries! only! also the hotel is quite centrally located (on magnifcient mile, the road with all the great fashion shops) that allows easy access to all the tourist points of the city.

Location is amazing & booked on Priceline so I got a smoking deal on the room. The doormen & bellhop were great. However, when we got to our room I was really disappointed that I got a view of the top of the hotel entrance. We got double beds, I thought we were getting queen beds, apparently that's not a standard thing yet. But overall, it's a great hotel and I'd stay here again.

The hotel was nice but a few things made our stay less than enjoyable. We tried to go to dinner at the Michael Jordan steakhouse but were told it was open seating only. We tried to ask to be put on a list as we had a toddler. There was nothing we could so expect wait around awkwardly. We had to order room service instead which took forever. The room had a small fridge, but with no room for leftovers. So after spending 120 dollars on a few burgers and drinks, anything left over was tossed. And the end of the trip, we were charged double for everything. It's been a week and still no deposit from the Hotel. Won't be staying there again.
