I'm staying here due to work. The hotel is very clean. Front desk was cheerful. The room had a very spacious refrigerator and microwave. The rooftop sported a pool. Was a peaceful place to take an afternoon nap. They also offer a nice place for smokers to sit outside and smoke. Overall I'm pleased with my lodging and would definitely stay again.

The place is out dated but not the worst. The room they gave us when we walked in was still in cleaned from the guests before us but after a call to guest services they upgraded our room so it was great! Karlyn the manager on duty checked us in and was super friendly and informative, gave aid a menu for Giordanos pizza which the deep dish is THE best around. We swam the pool was clean enough there were towels available. The pool wasn’t crowded, we practically had it to ourselves. A great stay! Do recommend but don’t expect too much! Parking sucks, there was none included the lot next to them was 12$ a night! But all and all would stay again!

Can someone explain why a CHIME debit card is not allowed here? I was denied to use it yesterday for my reservation. I had to withdraw from the ATM twice to pay for my room which meant $16 in fees ($6 from the atm and $10 from STRIDE BANK… YES THE CHIME CARD IS ATTACHED TO A *REAL BANK AND IS A **VISA** DEBIT CARD. See screenshot with routing number attached.
I have to do the same thing for my reservation today so that would now mean an EXTRA $32 I CANT AFFORD just cause they don't accept "that card" THIS IS A BANK DEBIT CARD.
But here's the GOOD PART! I was able to use this card for my reservation on 8/16 with NO PROBLEMS! Even though the other person was not "supposed" to let me use that card. My room was paid for with the hold… no problems!
I really want an answer to this especially because there is no signage at the location or website discriminating against this card.
I cannot afford to pay these extra fees because someone decides because it is attached to a bank that is not a brick-and-mortar that it is not good enough to reserve a room at this hotel. With today's reservation it will be over $300 spent at this location in less than a week.

The parking is not free for the guest. $50 per night.

I love the holiday inn. The breakfast buffet is cool and they give you tons of food.

Having security guards out of uniform with “Blue Lives Matter” hats during a conference for people who lost loved ones to cops is why I won’t ever stay at a holiday inn again. That’s disgusting and cruel and a horrible reflection on your hotel.

Completely unprofessional. Have had multiple people complain about being harassed by employees. Avoid at all costs.

Great great didn’t stay long had a bag too move but was nice af while was there.

This was the worst experience I had with at a holiday INN.

They do not have a pool available even though their website and numerous other websites indicate they do. Do not stay here if you want a pool. There are hundreds of hotels in downtown Chicago with open available pools do not get fooled like we were!

They went above and beyond to make an amazing experience! Randy especially went out of his way to help out when I had car issues but all made a difference. Hard to find people that are that committed to helping others.

Paid 400$ through Expedia to stay there. My flight was delayed for 5 hours once I arrived to Chicago I went to the wrong holiday inn. It was 10:00 at night so I booked reservations for that one. Didn’t think it would be an issue with refunding my money for the Chicago downtown hotel since I was staying at a different holiday inn. When I contacted them about a refund the manager told me I’m lying about going to a different hotel and having a bad day is not a reason to refund my money. Three weeks later they refuse to refund my money or give me a credit. Horrible customer service with no care of customers. This is billion dollar company why wouldn’t they give a hard working person back 400$ especially if they made a mistake by going to the wrong hotel.

This hotel needs some help, money into remodel. First of all the area is very scary. You don't want to walk around there. And there is nothing there for food except for Sunny ' s restaurant attached to the hotel. The food there was terrible. Our waitress must have forgotten the food because it was cold. They have a buffet which should be flagged for food violations. I saw her top off the juice several times with something you buy at the grocery store. So how old is the juice if you are just topping off? And don't expect to receive quality food either. Just gross! The outside of the hotel looks old and beat up. Crumbling and dirty both inside and out. The carpets need to be replaced. Overall don't waste your money here! They need to shut it down and replace.

Ideal location and decent breakfast except for the receptionist at the front desk. Victoria wasnt cooperative at all and spoke mockingly. All other front desk staffs were welcoming and could be approached whenever I had queries with regard to anything. Just shift to the adjacent counter if she is on duty is all I suggest to anybody checking in here. Happy holidays guys!

This is a pretty nice Hotel. Located about a 10 min walk from Mega bus stop in downtown Chicago. Now Upon checking in I had to leave a $100.00 cash deposit. This made me suspicious of the type of people they had at the hotel. It was returned to me in full upon check out as soon as a quick check of the room verified I did mot smoke in the room steal the linen or put a hole in the wall. The process took about 1 good minute. The room was clean the bed was comfy. The view was not bad and the staff was friendly and very helpful. They do have an exerisize room. No continental breakfast here but a little restaurant in the building. Everything within walking distance. I will stay here again.

On a road trip and checked in here late at night. Booked a suite, take a look at the room. Seems like an apartment. There is a pool on the roof but I was not able to get pictures. Good hotel. I recommend anyone to go here any time. There is also a cafe attached to this hotel and it is open for Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Amazing service. The room was below average. Part of the dresser was broke. The bathroom door does not shut all the way. The bathtub was rusting and stained. Bed was comfortable enough and the room was alright for what we needed (only a place to sleep). Would not be my first choice again, but the staff deserves lots of credit.

We had any awesome stay-the staff was friendly, attentive and gave me a lot of directions because I am clueless.
The rooftop pool was a better size than most hotel pools and the kids loved that they were on the roof. LoL
The beds, bedding, and pillows were super cozy.
The bathroom is awkwardly small, but no big deal when everything else is great.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Sunny’s.
The only negative for me is the location. Not walking distance to anywhere we wanted to be, and especially if you have kids.

I stayed here 2 nights and liked the hotel. It's in a great location near buses and the blue line. Their standard room was nice and clean but the bathrooms are small. L recommend the breakfast buffet in the a. M. If you dine at Sunny's restaurant. L would stay here again if l got a great deal.

The staff at this hotel is incredibly accommodating. Every person we encountered was friendly and very willing to offer assistance. We were able to check in early after a sold-out night, our room was clean and cool, and the pool was perfect. The restaurant was fine.

Holiday inn is garbage! No microwave usage past like 10 and apparently they give your room away even if you pay for it in full 3 months a head of time. We were running behind schedule by an hour and they told us they filled the room.

Staff are very helpful. Facility is a little shopworn, but they are making improvements. One block from blue line, so very convenient.

A nice place to stay with friendly staff. Provides good options for breakfast. Room service is quite prompt. Rooms are quite spacious, clean, and with all basic amenities. All and all a good place to stay with pocket friendly budget.

Good location near Union Station. Had reserved king accessible with roll in shower. Room was very small. Couldn't get wheelchair to bathroom or near bed because of furniture placement. Made it very difficult to enjoy stay. Management apologized but no adjustments we made to rate of over $300 for one night. Restaurant food was good.

Location decent for access to both northern areas and south/Chinatown with a walk, an older hotel, but the service is top notch with very accommodating, personal service. I would recommend if you don't mind walking a bit to get where you are going. Great diner around the corner too.

I can't say its bad… But nothing at this facility is great. The fixtures are old, the carpet is worn and you can quiet a bit of noise (never a good sign when they already have ear plugs on every night standh. The bed was kind of lopsided. The toilet tank would need to fill itself up every 10 or 15 minutes. The front desk staff were super nice and accommodating. I never stayed for breakfast although I heard from others that the food was good and service was nice. It is a "sit down and order" situation which is great is you want the extra service but not as fast as a "grab and go" continental set up many places have now. Just mentioning if you're planning how much time needed in the morning. The restaurant food wasn't bad but wasn't great. The service in the restaurant was pretty slow though despite not being busy. Even though they say they're open to 11 they were already telling people to finish up and get out at 10:15 and 10:30. I understand 10:30 is pretty late for dinner but why ask people to finish up and move along 45 minutes before your close time? If want to close at 10, then post your hours as closing at 10pm. Just wasn't a a welcoming experience.

This hotel experience was amazing! Rena, one of the staff members made our stay comfortable and convenient considering our flight was cancelled and needed someone to stay that was affordable. Rena was knowledgeable on the area and we had a wonderful dinner and breakfast at the surrounding restaurants she recommended. The hotel was very clean and comforting. I cannot thank the staff enough for such a wonderful stay! I definitely will recommend this hotel to others!

I stayed this past weekend for one night. When I booked the room, I was immediately charged with no notice of it and when I called to say I was going to put a hold on the payment from my credit card, the person I spoke to seemed irritated. I wanted to pay in cash and that seemed to be a hassle for whatever reason. On my confirmation is the only place it said that my card would be charged and by that point it was too late to change anything without being charged with the rate I secured. Next, we get there and there is a $50 a night for Valet parking. I say what valet parking. The valet parking is like non-existent. I did not have a guy get my car once. So you pay$50 to park per night. Extremely pricey. Next, the room was very noisy with the outside noise and you can hear people in the rooms next to you. The restaurant is not too bad. I wasn't expecting much in the first place with it so I didn't have high hopes. It was very mediocre but we didn't have to go out in the cold rain so I guess that was a plus. Oh and breakfast (if its not included in your room price; which I had to fight for) is $15 per person! You get cereal, eggs and biscuits. I would have been mad if I had to pay $15 for such small choices for breakfast. The only reason this even gets 2 stars is because the bed was comfy. I will NOT stay here again the next time I visit Chicago. Over priced hotel with mediocre accommodations.

So far so good. Room service hours are not before 5pm. Bed is comfy and I'm sleeping great. Hotel staff have been super nice so far.

The rooms were clean, the paint color could use an update. The hotel staff were all nice and helpful. I enjoyed the drinks in the bar, overall great experience.

We booked a double suite for a 2 night stay over a cold weekend in early February. Overall, the stay was great for what we paid. The place is out-dated overall, but considering the location and price, it was just enough for what we needed. Friendly front desk staff, plenty of room amenities as well as a clean and bug-free room, great location that was minutes to public transit and downtown sites. We would definitely stay here again! Finding the hotel was a bit of an issue because the entrance to their location wasn't clearly marked. We had to circle around after we missed it the first time. Valet parking was included in our reservation, which was definitely nice. John was our valet/bell hop both arriving and departing. He was very courteous and helpful when unloading and loading our belongings. He was also very friendly and helpful if you were needing directions or suggestions for places to visit. We had the car parked at the hotel our entire stay as part of our reservation and used public transit to get around. Our room was clean, bug-free and smoke-free. It had a little "kitchenette" of a sink, microwave, mini-fridge, and a cupboard of silverware and plates and small mugs. Our double beds were a little uncomfortable. The mattresses seemed like they were just really large crib mattresses on a platform frame. Pillows and blankets were aplenty. We asked for extra towels and bathroom amenities that they sent up promptly.

We are an IHG customer and normally only give 3 or 4 stars on Holiday Inn stays which are average for most holiday inns. The rooms were average here too. Rooms were clean and bathroom amenities were nice here. The reason giving 5 stars is that the staff at the front desk and valet that parked our car were amazing. We plan to travel to Chicago again this summer and will stay here again. Compliments to the staff!

The hotel itself was nice and clean, however if you stay at this location I recommend you park your own car. The valet service is TERRIBLE! I payed $50 for valet parking service and the price is not the issue. The first time I was brought the wrong vehicle and the valet attendant assured me that it wouldn’t happen again, the problem was fixed, and he would do something for my bill. The second time I asked for my vehicle, there was a different attendant but he couldn’t find my car. He came back asking “what color car do you have? ” and “what’s your ticket number again? ”. Once I left the hotel I called and spoke to a supervisor about a different inquiry I had with my stay, and in the mist of that conversation I brought up the parking mishap and was told that “they probably just mixed up the keys and slips because it was New Years and they had too many people. Great job management!

Price for the hotel was reasonable, but the price for the bottled water was almost $3. The 20 oz drink in the convenient section on the main floor may have been like $7 because of those things I have to give a 4. Oh they dont have a good range of children channels either.

The hotel was easy to find, although a bit tough to navigate to due to Chicago's confusing highway interchange. Rooms were clean. Service was fine. The reason for 2 stars: Parking was $50. There was no notice when we booked online. For a room that was $100, a unannounced $50 charge was a bit ridiculous. The attendant said "it's the cheapest you'll find", but as we were leaving we found a lot across the street from the exit that was $15.

Comfortable rooms with a nice view of the city. Staff were welcoming, courteous and helpful. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good. Close to Greek Town and South Loop. Would stay there again.

I chose to stay at this hotel simply because of a concert that night at a nearby venue. The staff was professional and courteous but the hotel itself was clearly not updated. It is also very noisy. They know this and even had a small sign in the room saying basically "here are earplugs to help" except there were none in my room. Now, if I said anything they certainly would have remedied that but I was tired and despite the street noise and the woman coughing all night in the room next to mine, was able to make due on my own. The bed was comfortable, but the room was rather standard otherwise. Overall, the hotel met my needs — it just wasn't impressive in any way.

The first time I came to live in the United States, I felt very good at the time, but to tell the truth, in fact, quite general. But the breakfast on the first floor is really great oh! Fruit Super Sweet.

The receptionist made my experience bad. Everything else was great. We had already contacted the hotel beforehand for them to use an organization credit card, however when we got it the receptionist asked for our personal credit cards and charged us for our rooms. There needs to be more attention to detail specially since the hotel is located in a place where various colleges students stay when there are conferences.

What a joke at the bar. This guy cares more about his friends then the customers. As a regular patron through my company this is a joke. Week drinks n no service unless your a personal friend. Disappointed is to say the least. Dwayne cares more about personal friends then customers, not like anyone cares. What's a joke. Bad language n customers are disregarded for friends. Never had worse service from this hotel chain period. Makes me rethink my loyalty.

Nice stay. Very friendly staff. Lots of attention paid to small comforts. I appreciate a hotel that goes above and beyond with the little toiletries in the bathroom! Haha. Comfy beds and pillows, nice furniture, bathroom was small but well appointed. Great location also.

Reserved and payed for a room. Upon arrival we were told that room was no longer available because they sold out. We were given a smaller room without being reimbursed. They comped the parking but that does not make up for the complete inconvenience this caused. Never staying at holiday inn again. Ever. How is this even okay? Completely flabbergasted.

Recently stayed for work. Checked in Sunday night departed Thursday morning. I noticed a bite on my arm. Didn't think much of it in the morning. By mid afternoon noticed several more bites. Currently have 12-15 bites on my arms, legs, feet and face. Anything that wasn't covered by clothing. I immediately contacted the hotel to let them know so they could check the room and treat it before any other guests had to deal with this. The front desk person was friendly and apologetic. I wasn't irrate or rude. I was told the manager was unavailable and was in a meeting but would call me back immediately. I gave my name and number. 2+ hrs and counting still zero call. Bed bugs happen, I know that but I think how a hotel handles bed bugs says a lot about a hotel. I will note that the head board on the bed has a gap even though most hotel chains have gone away from this due to the fact it gives bugs a place to hide. I informed my managers as this is a hotel we frequently use for employee training classes as well as regular stays.

My stay was great! The location is perfect, it is close enough to union station to walk, it is also very close to the willis tower, (you can see the tower from the penthouse). The pool and room were clean. While we were out exploring the city they held our luggage for free. Although they do not serve a continental breakfast, they do have a small restaurant on the first floor. Overall I would stay there again.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago downtown. It's conveniently located near the center of downtown Chicago. The hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a pool located on the top floor. The hotel has all the amenities you'd expect. They have a nice restaurant on the floor level that doubles as the room service kitchen. Parking is expensive, but there is a city lot next door as an option. Package deals for the room with parking included at a discount are available online. We had secured one of those packages, but we had to point out the discounted parking to the staff at check-in. They were pleasant and accommodating when we pointed that out. Over all, we have enjoyed staying here and look forward to returning on future visits.

The staff was amazing. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, and we were able to check in about five hours early. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Highly recommend!

It's OK. Now it's important to note that some context is critical here. If you normally stay in higher end hotels in Chicago you'll not want to stay here. If you typically stay in budget hotels you'll like it. I got stuck here because of last second travel. Things I didn't like: — Room was dated and looked dirty. I'm sure it wasn't dirty but when you haven't replaced a carpet or tiles for a decade it'll look dirty. — I found a roach-like bug one day. Didn't investigate closely and simply crushed it. To their credit, the hotel was apologetic and offered member points. I was happy with their response — The attached restaurant is average at best. Eat elsewhere — Location is not terrible but not great. Run down a bit. — It's only 5 floors so you'll get street noise no matter what, bring ear plugs Things I liked: — Mass transit nearby — Bed was very, very good. Clean and comfortable — Staff was responsive and very kind All in all, budget hotel for the budget conscious but not a Hilton or Marriott.

We got a double bed room because we have 2 adults and 1 kid. The check in is really fast and receptionists are nice and friendly. All of the other details are fine, there is nothing to complaint. Price in my opinion is a little overpriced but it's downtown Chicago so it is expected. Please about parking and fee when you book. $50 for overnight. I am not sure if this is per night or per stay.

Excellent location. It is best to ask for rooms that give to the parking lot, because those facing the street, there is a lot of noise and the windows are not double and do not eliminate the noise. I recommend to take the breakfast in the hotel, is very good and spacious.

When we pulled up, a man in plain clothes, with a bulls jacket over his heard, approached my door (the passenger door) to ask if we were going to be using the hotel valet. Once we said yes, he told us he had a deal for us. He would park our car somewhere else, and only charge us $20 as opposed to the $50 for the hotel fee… we told him no thank you, and walked into the hotel. We checked in, and were told to give the valet our keys. Turns out, he was the valet. Then he proceeded to follow us to our car, basicly scolding us for not taking his "parking deal. " The room was clean, but small! The bathroom was kinda awkward too. The toilet seat had to be raised in order to shut the bathroom door. No big deal! After we got dressed to go to dinner, we went downstairs to grab a taxi. While waiting, 2 women walked in together and handed their keys to the valet. He looked directly at us and said very loud, enough for both us and the other women to hear, that "no one around here tips. " The next morning we woke up and went down to the hotel restaurant to have breakfast. It was good, $15 for the breakfast buffet. After eating, we decided to go relax in bed and watch some TV b4 having to take the drive back. Around 10 am, I heard a faint knock at the door, but before I could even move to get out of bed, housekeeping just walked right in.
#1) it was 10 am not 12 (check out time)
#2) we had the do not disturb sign, hanging on the outside of the door.

The service was excellent. Very attentive.

The location is a little confusing to find but that's more related to the city design than the hotel itself. The staff is friendly and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is a little tight. I had leftovers with me while checking in and was a little upset at the lack of a refrigerator. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again but it wouldn't be on the top of my list.

Hotel was clean and the staff was very pleasant. Only real complaint was the parking situation: there is none. You either valet your vehicle for $50 per night or you find a nearby public parking location. All other things considered, though it was a good stay and, if I'm back on this side of town again, I'd likely stay here agaian.

Great location in West Loop about a block away from Union Station. Decent price and decent rooms. Street noise can be a bother to sleep through but it's not the hotels fault and ear plugs are provided. My second time here in a month.

I stayed here for a work offsite, and it was a lovely stay. The room was comfortable, 2 double beds, I liked the little lit buddha in my room and the bay window with pillows, my view of Yerba Buena Gardens, Metreon and Target. A very stylish hotel that serves good food, has a nice bar upstairs and another one on the ground level. I was really happy I got to stay here!

Basic hotel, OK rooms. Restaurant in hotel actually has pretty good food, but the ambiance is dreary. Hotel is in weird location also. But the price is right for Chicago hotel.

As expected from Holiday Inn. Clean rooms and friendly staff! My biggest complaint would be the nightly fire trucks/emergency vehicles that seem to show up just as I close my eyes. It appears the hotel is doing their best to rectify this situation… there are ear plugs in every room… I imagine some would find that humorous. The location does have its perks however; walking distance to many great places in downtown chicago, and close to lots of restaurants and shoppingas well. Public transit is only a few steps away for those needing to get around the city. I am here on business and my company foots the bill. If I were writing the check… well you know…

Rooms are clean and well kept, staff is friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff can be loud. The only bad experience I had was with they cab company they called. We needed a short ride to Greek town. The cab was already waiting outside before they called. The driver charged us $12. When another cab brought us back it was less than half of that. We complained to they front desk and they ju Other than the bad experience with the taxi I recommend the hotel.

I've stayed here a couple times. Clean and comfortable, albeit unremarkable room. On my most recent stay my room wasn't ready right away when I checked in and I had to wait a few minutes. Then the key didn't work, but management happened to be in the hallway when I was trying to open the door and quickly brought a new key up for me. That said, I'll happily stay here again.

Staff was courteous and helpful, as always. I stay here for business monthly and have never had a negative interaction with the staff. Truly exceptional at what they do, and with the volume they deal with. However, during this stay, for the first time in quite a while, I was not offered bottled water upon check-in, and the housekeeping staff had not put mints on the bed. Those little details were missed, because those are the things that usually makes this hotel stand out from the rest. The room, however, was clean and comfortable, like always. Ear plugs were provided in the room to drown out traffic noise (I never need them, but it's a nice touch) and the bathroom was stocked with extras like a sewing kit, a shoe sponge and a vanity kit (Q-tips and things like that). Staying at this place makes other hotels I stay at when I have to go to other cities for work just look bad. I'd definitely stay here for leisure.
