Very comfortable and spacious, staff are all friendly.

Hotel is in the perfect location to walk to major Chicago attractions. Willis Tower, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Millennium park were all right there. The subway was also less than a block away. My 1 and only complaint was the lighting in the bathroom and the shower were both not great. The only light source came from behind the large bathroom mirror, which made the shower dark. The shower handle was very stiff and hard to turn. The navy blue hallway was really cute, but again, lacked light.

Clean and beautiful inside. No pool though but has gym and restaurant inside. Walking distance to Millennium Park and tower's. Wish parking would be included free with the stay.

Make it look and feel like it's from the 1900s the rooms are nice! but it's 100% very modern! the sad thing is the out said looks a little old but with all the new stuff it's nothing! what I expected from here is to much hip. I think. for being a 200 year old hotel it's sad and very disheartening to see the history here being demolished keep it old keep it high class like back then… as the wallpaper says here "How will you help make memories and continue it's story? "… you can't become there is no history here!

This was our first visit to Chicago. It was a wonderful experience. The hotel was in a great location. Everything was perfect or so it seemed. My family and I originally booked 2 rooms. Due to a scheduling conflict, after the first night, only 1 room was needed. We spoke with the front desk and they assured us that it would be no problem to make the changes. One room would be canceled and no charge for the remainder of the reservation. We agreed only 1 night would be charged. Upon arriving home and checking our credit card statement, we were charged for BOTH rooms for the FULL week. We have called the Hotel twice, sent emails and messages to the General Manager with no resolution. We are told that they have no record of the cancelation transaction and they have no way to prove that we did not stay in the canceled room. Even though we turned in our key card after the first night, they still charged us for the full week!

The Hotel Blake is absolutely beautiful! The staff is super friendly and the concierge Showtime is fabulous!

The Hotel is Beautifully Decorated and Unique Designed. I Love the Location, not too much traffic and the Staff is Very Friendly and Provides Excellent Service 😊. We Only have (1) Complaint or maybe a Suggestion that they implement a On Site Self Serve Laundry facility… We travel A Few times a Year For Several Days and Sometimes with Children and Grandchildren… and Never like to Take home Dirty Laundry 😣

We were celebrating my birthday and there was a card and chocolates in the room for me when I got there. How thoughtful.

Smooth check in, great room and a fantastic location. Room was clean and we had one of the newer updated rooms that has a fridge, microwave, flat screen TV and many other updated amenities. The bathroom is fantastic and nicely appointed touches throughout the room to give it its Unique Style. Very classy and elegant and right in line with how Bluegreen does all of their other properties. We have been owners with Bluegreen for going on 2 years now. This was our first stay here and we will definitely be returning.

We stayed at hotel Blake for Valentine’s Day. It was the best hotel I ever stayed at! Definitely deserves 5 stars. The luggage guy that goes by “showtime” was awesome. He knew the best restaurants, shopping places, and AMAZING site seeing’s. I’ve never stayed at a hotel with such polite workers. Will be back again! (:

We stayed here after being displaced from our Loop apartment due to a pipe bursting. No one ever made us feel any different than every other guest. The staff is attentive and friendly. The Hotel itself is super cute. I feel like it is a hidden gem in a great location! You should stay here!

Exceptional service, views of the city, and location! We are fans of boutique hotels in Chicago, and Hotel Blake has moved up the ranks in our list of favorites! We stayed in a suite, and it was enormous and perfect (especially the pool-sized bathtub). Don’t leave without eating at Meli Cafe (attached to the hotel). We will be back!

Not sure how this place got all of its ratings. I can understand the value proposition given its location, but it is a much older place and it shows. You can do better for little more than the posted rates they have. I’m not labeling this place as “bad” but I wouldn’t stay again.

Classic Convenience! This is a classic hotel, centrally located in the Loop for easy access to most of Chicago's top attractions. Walkable to the Theater District, Art Institute, Museum Campus, Magnificent Mile, and more. But what truly made our stay here most enjoyable was the superb service. The staff greeted us every time we entered and exited, enthusiastically meeting all our needs and offering advice on places to visit our eat. Will definitely stay here again.

Certainly a fine hotel with all of the amenities and cleanliness one might expect. My only surprise was the look of the room. It is much more on the older country club feel — dark and rich with high ceilings, but really dark. Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz.

The location and service from the staff was great, however the room was small, it was very loud (noises from within the hotel, outside traffic noise was tolerable), the hot water took about 10-15 minutes to heat up every day and you had to step inside the shower, move the shower head away from you, then turn the water on as the shower had one glass wall covering only half of the shower (no door. ) The bed was also very hard, and the room constantly felt damp. Our room specifically had peeling paint and wall coverings and visible drywall patches that hadn't been painted over yet. Would most likely not stay there again unless it was the closest hotel to the location I needed to be.

Really enjoyed my stay. The staff was so helpful and kind. While checking in a staff member offered my children a selection of stuffed animals and let both children choose one. I thought that was super sweet and made our stay that much more memorable. I liked the location of the hotel. So many places in walking distance that I was able to leave my car with valet parking upon arrival and I didn't use again it until I was ready to check out! Hotel was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Good place only stayed one night and was nothing too special but that may be my fault for not using everything available. I do wish they had a pool. Staff was very nice and the rooms were big and modern.

Front desk staff is super friendly and genuinely interested in making your stay a great one. My room was spacious and clean. Can't beat the location, which is less than a 5 minutes walk to 2 different subway lines.

Hotel Blake makes staying in Chicago a great experience with all it has to offer. Its location downtown close to the CTL rail station makes it ideal for getting around without a car. It's also within walking distance to many attractions, such as, Grant Park, Millennium Park, Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy and Willis Tower, just to name a few. Dining options are only blocks away and there's even a food mart nearby. Parking across the street is always convenient. I really love Chicago downtown and staying at this historic hotel even makes it better!

Stay here for our trip and the place was very nice! The rooms were clean and looked very fancy and the hotel staff were always so friendly! By the second day they knew our names and greeted us when we left and came back. I felt very welcomed here and would come back next time!

Loved it! It's a hotel and not a condo like we're used to from Bluegreen, but the room was nice and the staff was super. It's been a while since we stayed in the city and the street noise was a little aggravating at first but I got used to it quickly (they have earplugs in the room if you need them). Note: valet parking is $55 per day but you do get unlimited in and out; however you can walk everywhere and can park it yourself for about $12 — $15 less per day.

My wife planned this as a surprise stay for me for our anniversary. From start to finish they went above anything we could have imagined. They assisted with all our questions. After a warm welcome including "Happy Anniversary! " they made sure to keep all the additional little "surprises" a secret from me during check-in. The corner room's view was breathtaking. The unexpected anniversary gift and note was only one of the many extra touches you don't typically receive or expect from hotels anymore. It's the perfect balance of feeling welcomed and at home with the additional lavish, resort style elements you expect on vacation.

In a traditional building with the comfort and attention of a five star but the glamour of history.

The staff was the best I’ve ever come in contact with while traveling! Showtime is hilarious and a very fun big personality! Everyone that worked at the hotel was awesome and had a great time interacting with people. I would definitely recommend staying here the fun atmosphere tied in with our whole trip.

Very amazing place. Has great rooms and great views. The bed was also very comfortable. The next best part about it was the restaurant downstairs. It was delicious. Ive eaten all over the country and it was in top 3 for breakfast. There is also a starbucks across the street. Walking distance to lake front parks, aquarium, museum, restaurants, and best views of the city.

Very accommodating staff. Enjoyed the faculty and the accommodations. Would recommend this place to family and friends. We liked walking but there is easy access to subway and bus lines as well the "L". Hotel Blake made our Chicago vacation awesome.

Excellent, clean and comfortable.

Second time at this beautiful place. The staff is friendly and "Showtime" makes you feel at home. This is close to most places you'll want to see. This time we were in am amazing corner suite where we could see the Willis tower. The main area was pretty cold due to the windows but the bedroom was warm. Bring blankets or ask for extra if you're there during a cold month! Walking distance to the El or bus, walking distance to the lake.

This hotel is amazing! Our room was very nice and clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. The night doorman, Showtime, makes sure you know exactly how to get where you want to go, and goes out of his way to make sure the guests are happy.

Hotel Blake was a nice surprise. We weren't sure what to expect, but it's a great place, conveniently located in the South loop with nice rooms and great staff. The surrounding neighborhood is great — much nicer than I remembered from many years ago.

Great staff! We came here for our honeymoon, and have never felt more catered to! They even sent up a bottle of wine our first night! Thank you Timothy! The room was beautiful and clean. Enjoyed our stay so much. The room service is affordable and very tasty! Great stay.

Great Hotel! We can walk to everything. Rooms are spacious, on site restaurant has amazing breakfasts! It's becoming our home away from home.

We had a premium king room, and it was very nice! It was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean, and the toiletries smelled amazing. The staff was all very friendly, and the restaurant connected to the hotel was tasty. The only places it lost points: there was a small yellow spot on one of the shelves that was kind of gross… We just pulled the sheet off so it wasn't a huge deal. We were also still in our room at 8:45am when housekeeping came one morning, and also in our room at 6pm that night getting ready to go out for the evening, so our room never got made up that day. Also not the end of the world, but it seemed worth mentioning. Good experience on the whole, though, I'll definitely be staying there again.

Hotel Blake is a Chicago destination smack in the best part of downtown. It is classy, upscale, yet personable in the best way possible. Come her, stay here, and be sure to ask for "Showtime" at the door for the best advice about directions, restaurants, deals, and transportation. The service is fantastic plus toy can reach the best destinations in Chicago on foot or via public transportation. Definately come here.

Michael at the front desk was great! I am an early riser for exercise, and he was quite helpful and I felt quite safe in entering/exiting the hotel. Additionally, when I asked in advance to have my vehicle at 6:15 a. M. It was there waiting for me when I checked out. The only thing I think I had a little trouble with (and I am quite a clean freak) is that when I went to plug in my laptop and phone to work from the room, the outlets were not real convenient to the work desk and I noticed build-up of dust in those areas where you don't readily see. All in all, the cleanliness and location were great! There's a great little coffee/sandwich shop on the next block called Hero, and it's convenient to State Street, Michigan Avenue, and the Loop. There's also a Gino's East right across the street. The weight room is sufficient for a quick workout while traveling and does fine as long as you aren't expecting your franchised big gym. Especially if you're traveling for business, this was a great place to stay.

It honestly was such a great place to stay. A gentlemen greeted me at the door, and was very polite. The rooms had really high ceilings and the view wasn’t all that great, it was a brick wall. But hey, it was still really good. The streets were really loud, but we were on like the 2nd or 3rd floor. I enjoyed my stay.

Wonderful little boutique hotel. So glad we found this place. It's located just south of the Loop in the Printer's Row neighborhood. Close to Michigan Avenue, the museums, Grant Park, etc. The "L" is only about a block away. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and made to feel at home. The staff were all very friendly and eager to help in any way. Our room was quite large, was very clean, great selection of amenities (toiletries, tea/coffee, etc). Contrary to some negative reviews I read, the bed was awesome! The street noise was not a problem either, but then I live near a busy street and work downtown, so it's normal background to me. Having said all that, I would definitely return and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you Hotel Blake for a very very nice stay.

Rooms are nice! Every staff member we met was so friendly, especially Showtime! A very sweet man who can tell you where to eat no matter what you want or what you didn't know you wanted! Hotel Blake is conveniently located to all the popular tourist attractions. Would definitely stay here again!

I have stayed at the Hotel Blake several times through the past 10 years, when visiting Chicago, and have always gotten excellent service and good deals on prices. The staff has always been courteous and pleasant, the rooms clean and well kept, and if I've had any questions or needed anything, they were quick to help me out. I highly recommend the Blake Hotel!

Great hotel close to Chicago loop. Staff is very friendly, some live music in lobby for happy hour is a nice touch. Rooms recently rehabbed and are very cozy. Quiet overnight atmosphere. Great bellhops too!

Thanks best part about our stay here is the amazing location. It's effortless to get around. We spent time St the Chicago Public Library right across the street, ate at the amazing cafe right downstairs, and are within walking distance to free concerts in Millennium Park.

Hotel Blake is a chic hotel that is located very close to the fountain and Millennial Park. Also, its a 15 walk to the train station. The popular Meli's cafe is right next door and has a wonderful array of dishes on their menu. The only downside I would say is that they do not gave their own parking lot and there is no complimentary breakfast. All in all, it's still a very nice hotel to stay at with lot of activities to offer.

Had a very enjoyable stay. Concierge and valet staff were outstanding — very personable, friendly, and attentive. Great location, and the building itself is immaculate and has a highly historical feel. Housekeeping was very friendly and took great care of us as well. Short walk to the downtown amenities. The restaurant in the building has great selections of food and drink. Overall, highly impressed. We'll be back!

Just got home from our stay at Hotel Blake. The hotel was gorgeous, staff was friendly and very helpful. We loved the location in Printers Row, giving us a more authentic Chicago experience staying in a smaller neighborhood than on the Magnificent Mile. Highly recommend, we will return!

Excellent service, staff, and location. Only critique would be cleanliness which I would give 9/10 (still pretty good). Also just want to shout out Jamar, he's the guy to see there if you have an issue (which you won't) or if you need suggestions on where to go and what to do while in Chicago. He deserves a raise and a promotion!

Hotel Blake seems to be at the perfect distance from everything that you would like to visit. The rooms were well taken care of and the service was incredible. The pricing was very cheap and was very high quality for the amount paid. Would definitely stay there again with my next vacation.

The rooms were huge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Showtime, the doorman was so funny and friendly! The soap and shampoo products in our room were awesome not to mention the coffee and tea. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Chicago. It is in a great location too!

Went for printers row. Aside from limited seating (which isn't really them) and limited AC (ya, that's them), everything was fantastic and perfect. Staff were friendly and accommodating, everything was clean and ready, very nice.

We celebrated our 15th anniversary here. The rooms were really wonderful w tall ceilings and great views. The price was well worth it. We would visit again.

Came in for a quick night stay. Room rate was reasonable for a last minute booking and the location was great. Staff wee helpful and the room was nice.

Pretty neat hotel right downtown. Fantastic location. Very helpful and accommodating staff. Every time we ran across an employee we were met with a smile and a greeting. I stayed in a king bed room. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but could've been worse. The cable was also out during my stay, however I wasn't there to watch television so that didn't bother me terribly. The cafe attached to the hotel was fantastic! See my review for Meli cafe for all the details.

I love this hotel! This was my organization's 3rd year in a row staying here. They have great service/amenities and most of the rooms have a great view.

The check in process was quick and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The rooms are decorated nicely and make you feel at home.

We were delighted with the vintage/deco charm of the building and our room was beautiful. Just like all of the pictures. Clean room, extremely comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly. We'll be back!

The bell man are so awesome. Then know everything about the city and the best way to get there. We stay there around this time every year and they are the main reason why.

The three star rating isn't an indictment of a bad place to stay, rather, a comparison to other hotels of varying price ranges. The staff was simply phenomenal. Everything about the staff makes me want to give it five stars. A few things that influenced the 3 Star rating: A website that lacks useful info — I don't need to know about Chicago, I do need to know check-in/out times. The bed I was in had some pretty noisey springs. The only ice machines are on the 12th floor (but honestly, I've never used a hotel ice machine) There is no continental breakfast — rather, there is an amazing attached restaurant, but it's going to cost you over $15 a person. My ceiling had a noticeable crack in it. Elevators seemed to be a bit older, possibly. They run fine, but seem a bit creeky. The TV in my room wasn't centered with the bed at all. A very petty complaint, I agree! It's a perfectly fine hotel for the price point and would gladly consider staying again.

We love this hotel and the restaurant next door. The rooms are big & comphy and clean. Beds are great, staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed here 3 times in 2014 and 1 time this year. Love chicago and the blake!

Stayed two nights. Room was somewhat small for the price, but clean and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and our dog was welcome, which is rare for a hotel of this caliber.

The Hotel was clean, the rooms were comfortable. The staff were very very helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay in Chicago! If and when we return to the city we will certainly be staying here again! The absolutely only disappointment was no fridge in the room.

Very nice rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant connected has good food. However I would be giving it 5 stars if the rooms had a Refrigerator or a microwave. I feel if you pay this much a night you should have those things. Otherwise you have no way of keeping things cold, reheating food, and thus making you spend a lot more money and time running around everywhere. You can't wake up in the morning with something cold to drink unless you get dressed and go to the 7/ll or to the vending machine upstairs. (Which they didn't have one at all until the last day I was there). I'd stay here again if it had at least a fridge. A microwave would be nice, or one in the building at all. Otherwise it was just too much hassle not having these things and forces you to spend even more money than you should need to. Oh yeah… bring ear plugs. It's Chicago so people are in love with their horns.

Hotel in the downtown close to major department stores and sites of interest, the only thing weak is the air conditioning. Very loose.

Only shade on the blackboard, the buffet breakfast consisting of cakes and take sitting at a table, if you are lucky: 3 tables in the lobby!
Beware of water bottles ($4 room) deposited in the room, but not offered…
The rooms on the street are a bit noisy.
