George the bartender is amazing. He can make drink like no one else.

It was very clean through and through. Very secure. You can’t even get in the front door without a key. They were also very customer service oriented and breakfast was great every time. 5 star all the way.

We’ve already talked to the director of valet…. We had an item stolen out of the console of our vehicle. Make sure if you valet, take anything out of your console and/or glovebox that is of value. Even though it was out of site, they opened it up and dug through and took the item. Besides the stolen item, the hotel was great!

We had a wonderful experience at the JW Marriott. Every single person here from the doorman to the concierge to leadership team went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. If you were deciding between a hotel brands stay at the New Orleans, do yourself a favor and just stay at the JW, you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent service from checkin, to breakfast to checkout.

We stayed there during the Covid pandemic mainly for the location. It's only steps away from everything. We felt safe and loved the privacy because of the locked entrances. No one could come in without a room key. All the staff was especially helpful and it was immaculate. I highly recommend it.

The hotel had mold. Not only did they have mold along of homeless people out front of the hotel with loud music and drugs and drinking. Lt was not a good hotel for 5 day stay.

We stayed in room 1010 it was a corner king suite. It was very spacious and super clean. The service was prompt and the staff very genuinely friendly. Would definitely recommend to others and stay again or stayed longer if we had time. 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the way. And I’ve been told that I’m not easy to please but they’ve went above and beyond for me. Wow!

Attended a wedding there. It’s a beautiful place, very spacious. The staff from valet to the bartender was great. Had a fish entree that was perfect. ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️

Really great location, steps from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. Streetcar stop nearby. Rooms are spacious with a nice view. Staff were accommodating and lovely. I didn't love the amount of light coming in under the door from the hallway, but that's the only nitpick!

The place is beautiful, the staff is welcoming and helpful. The pool, fitness room and all amenities attached were closed for renovation. I wish they would have mentioned that when we booked the room. And even though we were on floor 18 we could hear drilling and hammering throughout the day. Since we didn't spend much time in the room it wasn't too intrusive. The bar area was very nice and better than average food.

It was a great experience staying at JW! Everyone was so nice! Sean helped me check in and he made me feel warmly welcomed as he said it was the southern hospitality. I would recommend it.

Very nice hotel. The rooms are recently updated, the staff is very attentive to the traveler's needs, and the lobby is a great place to meet for business or pleasure. Located centrally to pretty much everything.

It has been a blast staying at the JW. Only downer was that you had to be executive level to get breakfast. The rooms were amazing and the staff were fabulous. I would love to stay here again. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

What an outstanding hotel! Located across the street from the French Quarter, this modern and upscale property is a welcome escape from the heat, noise and smell of the FQ. A great place for a relaxing stay. I especially liked the "turn-down" service, with chocolates on my pillow and they even lower the blackout curtains in case you'd like to sleep in!

I stayed at this hotel recently for an academic conference. The hotel staff who worked with the conference we all wonderful and the conference seemed to run very smoothly as a result of their customer service. We did not have a good experience with our actual hotel stay, however. The hotel was undergoing renovation construction, and they gave everyone a pair of ear plugs for daytime noise and mentioned at check in that if we had any problems, we should call the front desk. Well, when the problems started, it was a different attitude entirely. First some type of sticky chemical seeped up through our room carpet, making it wet, and someone just came and put towels on it and said it was probably from the room being cleaned (it wasn’t). And very strong smelling fumes came in through the bathroom vent. I was traveling with my two young children and was concerned for their safety inhaling chemical fumes that were strong enough to give me a headache, but the concierge on duty at the time was very dismissive and told us there were no other rooms and nothing could be done until the morning. We ended up canceling the rest of our stay and rebooking at the Sheraton, with no help from the JW Marriott (except for a very kind bellhop who helped us walk our bags down the block to the Sheraton). So it was a very mixed experience overall— if your trip goes perfectly, you may enjoy your stay here, but if anything goes wrong, don’t expect any help or sympathy!

It was an AMAZING experience. Good rooms, center of the French district in New Orleans… obviously. Good stuff around. 8th floor is okay, because it has a gym, pool and other you might need or want on vacation. Tall building. Parking is okay, has valet service. Quite pricey… about 200 dollars per day.

The staff was overall friendly. My room has been HORRIBLE during the day. They are renovating and I had construction crews literally drilling above my head most of the day. I had no advanced warning. When I called I was pretty much told I needed to just live with it. If they are working literally above my room, I'm not sure why you would put customers just below. I would never stay here again or recommend a stay here.

First time staying here it was very nice the staff was very nice and proficient — — rooms clean. Beds are very hard — — pillows are too soft and my friend (s) and I argued over the air conditioning room temp. All night hahah! We had fun and will stay again… — _ — Bad pionts are: the floor was wet on side of the bed by the wall we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. No free breakfast. Neighbor in next door complain because we were talking too loud. Huh? really!.

Construction. The room was nice. Construction. Very convenient to the French Quarter. Construction. 9 am construction, 6 pm construction. There was no mention of construction when booking and I would not have booked if I knew. Shame on them for not warning us.

Very convenient and comfortable. Only 2 staff members greeted me over 2 days so far. The rest just stare like I dont be long. The pool was too small.

This hotel advertises that it is being renovated and completed by fall 2018. Thank goodness, because it needs it just as badly as Jade's threadbare, ill-fitting uniform (although he was very pleasant and helpful, I'm sure it's not his fault the uniform is a tragedy. ) The curtains are tattered and torn, the bed was lumpy and painful, the pillows were horrendous, the blanket too hot and lumpy (how old does it have to be to get like that?! ) Even the bathrobe was threadbare! Lord have mercy, if any hotel ever needed an update, it's this one. I would NOT consider this luxury, although I'm sure the renovations will fix that. You have to use your room-key card to use the elevator (why did no one tell me this?! ) Great location though! Normally I'd have photos but there wasn't a single photo-worthy thing about this place. Maybe the lobby. No one stays at a hotel because it has a nice lobby. It's the room that counts, as well as the bathroom (theres hardly room to open/shut the door and can't hold more than one more person at a time.

We planned to stay in New Orleans a couple of days after our cruise on the Mississippi to enjoy a New Orleans experience. Unfortunately, we all came down with some kind of crud and ended up enjoying a stay at your hotel. The bellman was delightful, check in was effortless, our room was neat and clean. We did venture downstairs to watch the Derby on Saturday. We found a place away from everyone else and had a mint julep and enjoyed the Derby. On Sunday we felt really bad so we called the concierge and she had the kitchen staff make us chicken noodle soup from scratch! That was definitely above and beyond! My friends have left for California and I will be checking out soon to spend a day with my niece before heading back to the OBX. I read the reviews from 2017 and they were not very complimentary. Obviously, corporate listened because I saw none of what they complained about except for the Wi-Fi charge. Fortunately, my phone doesn't need it, but it would have been a plus for the hotel. I will have to come back so I can enjoy the city as much as I enjoyed the hotel! I am not a rewards member, but maybe I should be.

I've stayed at a lot of different Marriott's, but this was my first time staying at a JW. First off, staff was excellent. However, the hotel rooms were very outdated and not in great condition. Because of this, there was construction going on in the rooms directly above this. I wasn't told at booking, but I was told at check in that construction noise would be 10am-5pm. First morning the construction started at 8am… Maybe once they finish renovations it will be good, but definitely not worth the price for a JW.

The lobby and third floor were pretty. The staff was very nice. The hotel restaurant was very comfortable and the bar tender serving our table was awesome! However, they were doing construction so our room was not tolerable during the day and one day we didn’t have water. We were not prewarned before our stay but given a letter through the door after checking in. The rooms weren’t horrible but the carpet looked dirty and we had some bugs. Not what I would expect for the price but we were compt a little for the noise.

Just popped in for our wedding anniversary because we held our reception there. Same as every year. We had a great time planning goals for our next year together.

Decent place. Concierge was great! Bathroom is nice size but not a lot of room to unpack toiletries. Bell staff did not seem overly happy to assist us. Room was clean and spacious. Front desk staff friendly.

The check-in was great. I like that it's on the back street which allows for ease of unloading and parking. The facility is immaculately kept. The room and the view is very nice. They have a grab and go breakfast station in the lobby and Marriott Rewards members get internet for free. Score!

I don't understand how the reviews on this place is so high. The best part of the stay was the location, the convenience of room service from the in home restaurant, and the breathtaking view. The view is the reason I gave 2 stars instead of one. Now for the complaints. Firstly, way overpriced. Secondly the rooms were very plain. Not visually beautiful like I'm used to. There were dead cockroaches in the elevators, and mouse droppings in the bathroom. It was a disappointment to my roommates being that there was no complimentary Wi-Fi in the guest rooms, also there were no microwaves. How can you call this luxury? Never again!

Very nice hotel, great central location with easy access to the French Quarter. Lobby and rooms are nice and modern. Staff is friendly and the dual access doors to the front and back of the hotel make it easy to come and go as you need.

Great Location. Check-in was amazing, Room was a really nice size for one or two people. They don't pressure you for housekeeping. When they say they will come back, they actually do. The room was cleaned perfectly! Nice view of the city with a last minute registrations. Also, the late checkout was PERFECT. 8 Stars if I could!

Great service, internet TV, comfortable bed, and excellent location. The staff was considerate and courteous at all times. Check in and out was quick and painless. The view of the French Quarter was amazing. My only complaint was my sandwich in the boxed lunch came with mayo, rather than having it on the side. But despite that, this was a long my best hotel stays ever.

We had a corner king suite that was attractive, spacious, and quite comfortable. The JW Matriott toiletries are great and our housekeeper, Sonia de P. “blessed” it every morning with sweet spirit as she tidied up after us. She made our stay super special and deserves a raise! The location was convenient to everything we wanted to see and do while also being a quiet respite from the lively French Quarter. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and will book at the JW whenever possible.

Pleased to stay at the hotel. Very clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly. Location is good but parking is expensive. Continental breakfast may be a good add on, if provided. Overall, satisfied with the stay.

Great view of the city, clean rooms and friendly people. It's downtown so of course everything is expensive. Breakfast was $25 and parking was wasn't an additional fee. Not a cheap place at all but still nice. Slept great and was refreshed.

We came to stay for the day. We needed a different room to accommodate one of us. They said they would have another room ready shortly. Three hours later, they did still did not have the room ready. And instead of telling us "it'll take a while, please go do something. " they kept saying it was "almost" ready and that we "just" needed to wait for housekeeping to clear it for them. The room was very nice, and the lounge was great. But we lost a huge chunk of our trip to New Orleans sitting around waiting because of the staff.

I stayed in this hotel with a closeted homosexual name Robert Micheal Hamilton. Once we were at the breakfast bar upstairs. The elderly lady working mentioned all the gays in town and not being a fan. This "friend" complained and got her fired. I also heard he informed her boss I was gay and upset which he used myself a local at the time. This was not the case. He paid me to hang out cause I danced at the Corner Pocket but am str8. This horrible man ruined that ladies retirement. I hated knowing that lady got fired for being herself and have resented I couldn't tell management cause he spent so much money with this hotel. Horrible person ruining lives as he sees fit cause you don't believe in his fairy tale secret life.

Nightmare at JW Marriott New Orleans — bedbug and awful service We stayed in JW Marriott for 7 nights (Room 2219) from Dec 9-16. When got up in the 6th morning, I felt itchy around the waist and found big patches by touching. I had a presentation at the convention center and rushed for it. At night, we examined and found 9 big and red patches around my waist, in group of 3. My wife had 1 on leg. My son 5 on leg, 4 of them in a line. We reported and a claim (type of incident: illness — bed bugs) was filed by an officer from loss prevention department. We were told that they will seal Room 2219 and the surrounding two, do the bug investigation the next morning, and contact us ASAP. We flew back home early morning on Dec 16. All the baggages were placed in large plastic bags to prevent bringing any bed bugs or eggs to our home. No responses from the hotel and we called around the noon on Dec 17. The first man said he didn’t know the name of the guy who filed our claim, they didn’t get a report yet, they can do nothing and we need to wait… I told him we were living in panic of bed bugs. The second guy said the officer would be there after 3:30 and he will contact us. No call! Around 4, I called again, the supervisor answered me and told me to wait one more hour. After 5, no call again! I called and got that the report will be available tomorrow. Around 5pm of next day, I got an email and a voicemail from Marriott claims service.

Stayed here for anniversary! Check in was quick and professional! Nice view over French quarter! Very good location cuz everything yo want is in a walking distance! Staff very professional and helpful especially Tim, Stephanie and Adam de la Cerda Who happens to be front desk manager!

Clean but the Buffet is not good… to spend a night this well and within the area of hotels near the airport.

Nice hotel, great views from upper floors of the French quarter. Friendly and helpful staff. Management very responsive to issues. Bed was comfortable and room clean. Issues with external noise, hotel does provide ear plugs. Executive Lounge has a decent breakfast, it also has games and a pool table. In walking distance of most of the sites in downtown New Orleans.

The main level of the hotel is nice in a decent location not far from the Quarter and Bourbon Street. The room was nice, but a bit dated. The door wouldn't latch properly unless leaned on quite a bit. A refresh of the rooms would go a long way, especially at a JW.

We checked in 3 days ago. The rooms in this JW are the filthiest hotel rooms I have seen in a long long while. First room was infested w bugs. Second room dirty, dusty, nasty w I don’t know what smeared on bedskirt and draperies, smudges of nastiness on furniture came off with a wash cloth water and a little elbow grease. Never again! If not for the Convention in town I would move to another hotel NOW.

Great, clean hotel with nice executive lounge. Outstanding gym with plenty of machines and a lot of space. Location is very convenient, can walk to basically everything. Valet parking too expensive for my taste.

I came to the JW Marriott for a pedicure appt at the Serenity Spa on the first floor. They couldn't find my appointment and didn't have a pedicurist in that day at all. But they never even asked me if I could come a different day. They just said '… sorry'. All 3 girls on staff didn't offer any actual customer service. Very poorly run business. I'll never return.

Great room and staff. Luckily everything you need is close by because if you buy from the tiny store they have, it will cost you an arm and a leg. Walk to CVS it's much cheaper. The only other thing I would say is be careful in the shower, I am not sure if our room just needed new grip tape in the tub but is was dangerously slippery.

Best Hotel I have stayed in years. Let use check in hours early and help find us great places to eat! Will be staying here again.

Just what you expect from a JW Marriott hotel. Nice rooms and friendly staff. I was here for a professional conference. We had a Continental breakfast every morning and lunch one day. All of the food was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and clean. Everything worked. Great location across Canal Street from the French Quarter. Easy walk to the Quarter.

Not bad, but not amazing. Pool was a big part of us choosing this hotel over another, and it isn't a very glam setting compared to some of the others. There was no poolside food and beverage service, so we ordered a $44 filet via room service (so once you add all the fees, it's a $58 steak! ) and it was over cooked and had no wine sauce to speak of. They advertise pizza in their room service menu, but "it's a misprint on the menu. " They were out of chocolate cake. They only had strawberry ice cream. Rolls were dry. However, the staff was very friendly, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the bathroom was spacious, and the fitness center is nice.

Do not stay here. I travel often and this is by far the worst customer service and dirtiest hotel. When we first came down for a birthday//girls weeks for 5 girls we requested two rooms 3 months in advance. I called that morning to double check and was told that both room were good I also let them know that we were coming in late. When we arrived there were no longer any more double beds. So we stayed in a king for the night with the promise of moving us to two double the following day. We called the next morning as the front suggested and they said that we would be moved. When we came downstairs the front desk was very rude. She stated there was no possible way I spoke to a gentleman because no men worked downstairs but keep in mind I checked in the night before with a male. She then proceeded to tell me that I was using a friend of Employee Rate and I get what I get. Basically insinuating that we were lucky we even received a room — that we booked months in advance. REGARDLESS, if I was on a friends rate we should not have been treated like we didn't deserved to be there. We paid just as much. At this point we wanted to just endure the rest of the weekend and make it work. We asked for a roll away bed which we called 5 times for with no apologies for any delays. It finally arrives around 2 am when we asked around 10 am that morning. The gentleman said that it doesn't come with blankets and to look in the closet.

Good room with a good view of the city, nice bar, the only q we did not like was the pool was not very clean it had a bit of mold and mildew, the floor was slippery does not have service there are q call by phone for the q you bring something in addition q had no music even though there were speakers…

Very good location. Plenty of food and entertainment right outside the door. Service was superb and everything in room 1515 was perfect. Gym is bigger than most and 8th floor pool is small but clean with decent view.

The internet is not free but the hotel is very clean and quiet.

This was a lovely hotel with great staff. Tracey in Lost & Found was especially kind and helpful in seeing that I had some items I had mistakenly left behind shipped to me promptly. I would highly recommend!

If I could rate this hotel a 0 I would. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you need to speak with their billing department due to a billing issue don't expect it to be resolved. After emailing them several times in a 4 week span I still have received no response. I also called but every time I am transferred to their billing department it goes to voicemail which I have left several messages on and they still haven't called me back. I will never book with this hotel again. There are many hotels that I have booked with in the past that are beyond helpful and go out of their way to assist. I don't recommend booking here because you never know if they will mess up your stay which results in having to contact their awful billing department.

Excellent location just steps from the French quarter. Friendly bellman, concierge and front desk staff. Rooms could use an update but are in decent shape. Nice pool — never crowded. Could use a bit of soundproofing between rooms because you can hear neighbours very easily. Had a very pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel.

I was there for a meeting of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Marriott was in charge of food and drinks. The drinks were very good, the food as well, my only complaint is that the hot food was not as good it could be. (English is my second language)

I seriously cannot praise the staff at the JW Marriott enough, they are all amazing! Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I felt for the price and the type of hotel that they should offer free continental breakfast. Great experience though.

Have stayed at many Marriotts and was a little disappointed in this one. The staff/service was friendly and great, but the rooms were average at best. The lounge was nothing special. Dessert is served until 10, I think. Stopped down around 8 and heard an employee telling a guest that all the desserts were gone, was a little surprised. Will try a different Marriott next time I am in NO.

My daughter kept saying the people are so friendly here. The concierge were outstanding. They helped with all aspects of my trips. Highly recommend you stay here just based on them. In addition the location and facility are great. Hotel was very clean and quite. Front desk staff and all other staff was professional efficient and helpful. Lounge was well stocked. Facilities were a notch above and well maintained. I look forward to returning. My daughter raves about the place and people. This hotel helped make new Orleans trip very special.

Great location in New Orleans just far enough away to be relaxing with a quick walk down to the action. The staff was extremely helpful and I will be staying again on future trips. Great hotel well worth the price.

Amazingly not as swanky as you'd imagine since it is a JW Marriott. I always thought they had lazy rivers at every JW too. I didn't see one here. It was convenient to all tourist stuff though.

This is the second time I've stayed, and both times have been great. I travel for work, and always try to book the JW if it's within our price range. The location is perfect, being on canal and the edge of the french quarter. It's close enough to walk to anything in minutes, but you avoid the chaos of actually trying to sleep in the middle of the quarter. The hotel itself is very nice, above and beyond service from all staff, and the executive lounge is one of the nicer ones I've ever been in.

Was over booked … Put four of us in a queen room after reserving a two and yes pre-paid. Ordered room service paid cash but evidently the server kept it because I was still charged. Never made the bed or changed out towels.

Overall the rooms were clean and service is good. The concierge lounge is very large here after the upgrade. One drawback is the food and snacks left out after breakfast are lacking.

A fantastic hotel. Very clean, upscale rooms. I love staying here, but I can rarely find a discounted room. It's usually out of my budget, so a solid alternative has been the other Marriott on Canal St (also nice, but not on the level of the JW). Regardless, JW Marriott is a great luxury hotel in a perfect location. If you can score a deal or are filthy rich, I highly recommend.

I stayed their during blues festival, service was impecalble. Staff professional and top notch, this in my opinion is a 5 star hotel, from front desk, bellhops, dining experience everything was worth staying here. Food excellent. Bartenders are the best. Wait staff top notch. Don't think I would stay anywhere else than this hotel. Facilities clean, spotless, housekeeping excellent. Every employee here works as a team. Overcharged me. We had secured a group rate of $199/per night and I was charged $249/night. I asked them to fix it and they said they had done it but then I look at my credit card statement and, there it was, $249/night. Called them and was forced to leave a voicemail. No response yet.

I was very disappointed in the service I received. My family booked this hotel for our family reunion for July 22-26th. Several people in our group got ripped off! My reservations were booked since May 2015. Every month I was calling to make sure my reservation were set. Each time I called I was assured it was. The week prior to checking in, I called the hotel numerous times to make sure everything was in place for my stay. When I checked into the the hotel I was given the key to my room and upon entering the room I had a king sized bed. Not what I was guaranteed! The gentleman that checked me in knew all along it wasn't what I requested. Once I returned to the desk, he says "Oh we are out of rooms with double beds as you requested, but we can send two pull outs to your room and move you to a double bedroom tomorrow. " Well I only got one pullout because the corner room we was given was so small. The next day I called and inquired about the double beds and I was told by Danielle that the double room wasn't ready and she would call me when they were. Never received a call. I was informed later that night after returning to the hotel from an outing that it was confirmed they were sold out of all rooms with double beds. The remainder of my stay insisted of 4 people in a room with one bed and a pull out. Three of us was cramped in one bed and my son slept on the pull out. I was beyond pissed, but for the sake of my children I didn't want to spoil it for them.

Check in took 25 minutes. No free internet. Tub in shower did not drain well. Elevators are under maintenance and took 25 minutes to get on one going up instead to come downstairs. Only valet parking and told it would take 1 hour to get car. Toilet ran in Mom's room. TV didn't work in the president's suite bedroom where my brother stayed. On the other hand staff was very friendly and there is a storage room to put stuff after checkout.

When we got there they could not find our reservations. They ended up putting us in a tiny room (we had paid extra to have an executive corner king. ) After 4 hours the room was still at 80 degrees. They finally moved us to a executive corner king room. We called down to the front desk and asked for a bottle opener. We waited for 2 hours and they never brought it up. The pool was disgusting. They claim this is a 4 star hotel and it is no where near that. We will never stay there again. We should have just stayed at the double tree. This was suppose to be a relaxing trip with my husband (first time away from our 3 year old daughter) and the hotel experience ruined it for us.

I come out to NOLA several times a year, it is my favorite city to visit in the US. I usually come alone and stay with my local friends. The trip I made in May was the first time bringing my boyfriend and his first time in NOLA. So I wanted to REALLY show him the city I love. We decided to stay around the French Quarter for the full experience. And I was going back and forth over so many hotel options. I always enjoy staying at the Marriott and their guest service is ALWAYS great, so when I saw that the JW was available and for a military rate, well there was no way I was gonna pass it up! From the minute we arrived with the attentive and personable bellmen and front desk clerks, to the day we left, we were VERY impressed. The doormen were very polite and professional, and charming and funny. Alfred was running the show most of the time we were there and he did it with ease and style. The front desk clerks were very knowledgeable and helpful in offering suggestions, maps and directions on things to do. Between the front desk and doormen, you could run your own tour company out of the lobby! We would head out for breakfast and then come in in time to change and get ready and make it out for dinner. Every time coming and going the staff would ask us specifically about our day, they remembered where we had planned on going and seeing.

I loved everything about my experience at this hotel. The Staff was so nice. We got off our cruise at 8am and early check in was no problem at all. After 7 days out of the country we just wanted to rest and this hotel let us rest in peace and quiet! The rooms were nice the bed was very comfortable and the view was of downtown New Orleans. I really loved this hotel and will be back soon.

We loved the location and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect room. Alfred C. Made our trip and excellent doesn't say enough about how he went out of his way to make sure we had a great stay. Ask for Alfred he gets things done.

Very convenient as it was close to the Mississippi River and the Marriot had it's own station for the on — off tours throughout the city. The concierge lounge was also amazing, so I would recommend you booking a room on the 6th floor. The only bad part was the pool. There was a very minimal amount of towels and they barely heated the pool up. Even though it was 80 degrees outside, it was still freezing cold in the pool.

No hot water for bathing. Ripped and torn robes. Upsold second room when initial reservation room, for gold member, much too small. Needed wheelchair for injured daughter. New wheelchairs require second person for each use, as they are not self usable. None available. Rethinking my Marriot membership. Checked out within 24 hours and found another hotel. Did New York, Chicago, and Ft. Lauderdale. Much better.

The hotel itself was amazing and beautiful, but they had no microwave in the room or dvd player. The food was so pricey for just a club sandwich was $17.00. The location was great and within walking distance to everything.

Cons: The front desk staff were VERY rude, and even openly mocked me. I had negative interactions with at least 3 different front desk people (sneering, laughing at me, talking to me as if I was stupid. ) On my last morning there was a leak in the ceiling in the bathroom and it got all of the towels and the shower curtain wet. When I called the front desk she said, "It is probably just condensation. " Um. No. Then I asked for more towels and a new shower curtain and she said, "What for ma'am? " Ummm, so I can take a shower? Why was that her business? They did send a maintenance guy (who was very nice), and it was fixed within 2 hours, they cleaned it all up, and I had all new towels etc. So they took care of it, I really think the front desk lady was just rude about it (I really don't understand why you would be rude about such a thing. ) Also, randomly, there was no blow dryer in the room. It has probably been over 10 years since I stayed at a hotel and there was no blow dryer in the room. I had an iron, and ironing board, coffee maker, mini fridge, and all kinds of other things, just no blow dryer! And, the bed was not comfortable, but they kind of made up for it by giving me 6 pillows. :) These rooms are also expensive, which can be a con if you are not getting service to match the price. What I don't understand is. It doesn't cost anything to be nice to people, so why don't they just do it? Do other people want hotels where the staff is snarky?

I stay at this JW Marriot when ever I come to NOLA. The hotel is great and the staff is very professional friendly. The valet guys (not Marriott Employees) are just as friendly and welcoming as the Hotel staff. The rooms are clean and setup for both business travelers and NOLA visitors. The corner rooms on high floors facing Canal St are the best for views of the city. The gym is great. Several machines, free weights, and exercise equipment. Includes a decent pool for tanning and swimming.

Hotel was beautiful, the staff were great and the rooms were clean! However after returning to our room late, we realized our ac wasn't working and the front desk sent someone up immediately. Unfortunately he wasn't able to fix it. But someone came up and brought us keys to a new room which was a very nice upgrade! They also gave us a voucher for breakfast in the restaurant which we did't get to use, but a couple days later I look at my bank statement and see that they refunded our room service! Excellent customer service JW Marriott.
