Reviews of Hyatt House New Orleans Downtown 3*
Very nice, clean and well maintained. Great view of the city. Actually like an extended stay even has a stove. Good breakfast, comfy bed. Super close to Superdome and Smoothie King Center.
The suite is big and beautiful! Customer service is wonderful so far as well.
Nice hotel and all, encountered a rude and nasty room attendant during my stay, probably racist too. Definitely my last time staying here. Pay too much money at a downtown New Orleans hotel to be dealing with that.
The staff was so friendly.
Great experience clean room friendly staff and amazing views.
Enjoying our stay. Lovely rooms nice location with restaurants grocery store and farmacy.
My room is very nice! Everyone was extra friendly. Made me feel very welcomed. Bed was quite comfy and I had all the things I needed. Breakfast at the door was extra touch that I loved. Thank you so much. 😊
The service was great, the guys doing the valet parking was very friendly. Room was nice and clean, and Lord the breakfast was g r e a tt. Very friendly staff. Will definitely stay at this hotel in the future.
"Excellent hotel" First off the valet was amazing with helping us get everything up to our room! We stayed in their one Bedroom Two Queen Suite Room which was very relaxing and spacious since it was 590 sq ft for just 3 people! The Den area was also quite large with great views all around! The high floor we stayed on had a spectacular view of NOLA, especially at night! Although we did not need certain amenities they did have a dishwasher, Mini refrigerator and microwave, 42" flat-screen TV, Dedicated workstation and remote printing, Single-serve coffeemaker, Spacious closet, Iron and Ironing board, KenetMD® bath amenities and 1875-watt hair dryer, Alarm clock radio with MP3 connectivity, Plug-N-Play TV adaptors, Cordless speakerphone with voicemail, and Sofa Sleepers. We were completely satisfied! Thanks so much!
The breakfast was wonderful. Everyone was so very friendly, very good customer service.
Beautiful ambience and private. It was quiet until the ppl next door started slamming against the walls, so hard that my head board hit me in the head! my room is beautiful, with a mini frig, and mini microwave. The staff is awesome. The view of the city skyline is awesome. No crowds, no drunks, no prostitutes. Breakfast was included, and it was basic. Happy hour was good, but ended yesterday. No late check-out here and no bell hop station to hold your luggage, though they will hold it at the front desk, which is unsecure. I would not eat at the Lagniappe Exchange, in the Hyatt Regency. I told the worker that a bug was flying on the pastries. Her response was, "oh, it's just a fruit fly". So, the "fruit fly" jumped from pastry to pastry! Finally, do not leave things unattended close to check-out time. If housekeeping doesn't see luggage (I was giving mine to a friend to take), they will remove all of your valuables. Imagine my panic after only being gone 5 minutes, and check-out wasn't for another 30 min. I would still recommend it, thin walls and all! Just bang back, like I did! lol.
Awesome great and convenient walk to the Superdome.
Great place, very friendly staff, rooms are new. I only stay at Hyatt when I travel.
Great location, wonderful views of New Orleans downtown from the 13th floor, beautiful ambience, cozy and comfortable.
The location and the room were awesome and the breakfast was the best.
Nice and clean hotel has everything you need. Perfect all you need is to go shopping for food. Has all the appliance you need.
A great place to stay when on business however it was pretty confusing to find our was around the building because there is actually not one but TWO Hyatt hotels in the building! If you are not familiar with this particular location I would suggest coming early to familiarize yourself with the venue.
Great service, super clean and comfortable rooms and very friendly and professional lady at the service desk, MRS. Leslee thanks for the great help. Will be back.
My first visit was great! Brent our host was the best, he was the hardest working man in the building. & Evelyn was very sweet & thanks for my gift. Plan to see you soon, I'll definitely be back. Thanks you guys!
I booked this hotel through Hotwire as a place to stay during a work trip. Hotel was easy to access from the street, staff were friendly and helpful. The room I was given exceeded my expectations and all in all it was a wonderful place to stay. The only drawback is the elevator situation, which to say the least leaves you very confused on how exactly to reach ground level. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel.
Wonderful hotel. Great free hot breakfast. Will definitely stay again next year for Mechacon. Great room with no smoking, and fridge. Fully stocked kitchen. Generous, helpful employees.
I want to say that this place is absolutely wonderful. We are from Arkansas and my mother had to travel to new Orleans for surgery to beat her breast cancer. Well when her and my dad got back to their room, the hotel had flowers a card and a get well balloon. That really raised my mothers spirits. They went above and beyond for the guest. This is absolutely amazing. Thank yall.
I loved our large room with a great view! It was so convenient to have a microwave and a refrigerator. The HBar staff was courteous and Reggie on the valet staff was over and above accommodating. A gentleman working at the desk assisted me downstairs with my clothing cart. He went above and beyond and I was so appreciative!
Love this beautiful hotel. The room was nice and clean an my husband and I even received an upgrade for our anniversary. The check in staff was really nice. Oh and the breakfast was amazing! The pool has a bar and its a great getaway to clear your mind. The parking was a little pricey but that is expected in New Orleans I guess. We will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel!
Beautiful hotel. Not a convenient stay. No restrooms on street level. You have to go all the way to the eleventh floor for "check-in", to eat and use the restrooms. We got use to that part. However, housekeeping is relentless at barging in the room. We put do not disturb and they knocked at least 4 times every 20-30 mins while we were sleeping. Same thing every morning. Last day they knocked, we said "wait a minute" and they opened the door and came in while we were undressed. After we paid $75 for late check-in and $42 for another parking pass. The manager could care less.
This hotel to me is the best kept spot in the city. Awesome large, spacious rooms with great city views. Bar/breakfast area was large and also had a great view. Feels very cosmopolitan. It was a little distance to the French Quarter. But the streetcar was right there. We took it and enjoyed the NOLA experience! AND. It is attached to Dave and Busters. The downside… MUST valet. But that's all the CBD/French Quarter hotels.
The hotel is beautiful and in a great location for everything you want to do in New Orleans. Breakfast is fine but if you're in this city and you eat the free breakfast at the hotel, you are NOT doing this City right! The only problem in the valet and you must valet or party to come and go. They are slow. You can call thirty minutes ahead of time and they won't go get your car into you come down, even when they say they will. Other than that, this is the PERFECT place to stay for a trip to NOLA!
Excited to revisit New Orleans! Paid $400 plane ticket. After paying $900 for 6 nights to Hyatt House, plus $300 held on credit card, plus paid for food, drinks, and tips to hotel… souvenirs, homeless cash donations= $2, 000 per week; Experience: NOT PRICELESS! I was accused by Security of just being in hotel to use the restroom. THREE total security questioning me. I felt NO southern hospitality; but profiled. SMH change; yet, remain the same! Spend hard earned money Anywhere else Future travels! :''''' — ( ( (
Attended a conference and this hotel was located about a mile walk from the convention center. The front desk was not on the ground floor you had to take the elevator up to the reception area. That became a wait since they only had one elevator, then add luggage. The staff was friendly. The hotel was very clean and had a modern feel. It was within walking distance to Bourbon street and the French Quarter. The room was nice and I had views of the city. They had a very nice breakfast buffet. You could order your eggs to order and they had other offerings available. There was an indoor walkway to a Starbucks located in the hotel next door. I gave it 4 stars because it was a little farther from the French Quarter and if you don't mind walking that's okay but after a day at the convention — walking around to get dinner began to wear on us. This hotel had a very limited dinner menu. Mainly snacks and a bar for drinks. Overall I would stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay and were upgraded at no additional cost to a King Suite with a kitchen, fridge, microwave and great views. A nice treat for my graduation weekend. My only complaint is the housekeeping forgot to clean our room on Saturday (we checked in Friday) it was a bit stressful as I was preparing for graduation and we needed clean towels for a shower and they said housekeeping leaves at 5 pm and we ourselves were trying to rush out the door. They did come afterward because when we came back from the event, the room was cleaned. Also, I was taking a picture of my husband and I was stopped by security stating that they do not allow pictures in the building anywhere. There were no signs posted anywhere that stated that especially when you are graduating and there are a bunch of people taking pictures all weekend long all over the hotel. I thought that was very unprofessional and would like a manager to comment on this. This happened Sunday around 11:30am.
Turned out to be an amazing weekend for my fiance & I. The room, hotel, service, & amenities ended up being far greater than I ever expected. Thanks to Priceline our room ended up costing $100 less than Days Inn a few blocks away! We can't wait to go back!
The hotel itself is nice, in a good location & very clean, which I appreciate. The free morning breakfast includes hot & cold items, waffles, and made to order omelets. This is very helpful & we saved a lot of money on breakfast during our 5 day vacation. What we did spend a lot of money is the parking. The parking garage is shared with other businesses and Dave & Busters. So even though were already paying for your hotel stay, you are required to pay a $25 nightly parking fee. Adds up real fast & then your car is kinda stuck at the hotel because if you leave, there are fees for that as well. They do offer valet but its $40 a night, the benefit is you can go in & out as you wish. Is that really a better deal? Id rather the hotel add in the parking fee to their nightly price. Over $100 in parking fees and I still was unable to drive in & out as desired.
Nice, clean hotel with great view of New Orleans. Staff was always helpful and friendly. I'd absolutely stay there again.
I was kept 350usd of the card without notice, with the room already being paid.
Excellent room with view of bridge. Nice breakfast. Convenient location that's not very far to walk to warehouse or french quarter areas. Very close to the Hyatt Regency and shares amenities with it. Parking situation was confusing.
This hotel was great. Friendly helpful staff. The interior design was modern. Room furnished with 42" LG flat screen tv, mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, king bed and a chaise lounge and 2 ottomans. The buffet breakfast was nice, omelette bar, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes and various fruits and breads. Dos f.
Great location within walking distance of downtown New Orleans destinations. The rooms are nice, the restaurant/bar is good though the drinks are expectedly pricey. The laundry room is very nice with a couple of new washers and dryers. Parking is expensive, valet is by far the better value. I plan on staying here again the next time I'm in New Orleans.
Overall great hotel! Very clean, comfy, and conveniently located. Obviously the area gets congested during a home Saints game, so expect elevator delays, traffic, and noise, but it was nothing excessive. Free breakfast was convenient but not great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Taxes on the rooms are outrageous but what can you do. It's the area.
What a great place! The staff here were fantastic. The rooms are up to date. Modern. VERY Clean. Like renting a condo for the week. Little kitchen. Great views. Huge shower. Comfy beds. I didnt want to go home. Fantastic breakfasts. Great bar for a night cap before bed. Walking distance from the French Quarter and other sites. This will be the only place I stay when in New Orleans from now on…
Staying here 3 nights right now. It is almost 3am on night 1. Got back and found a cockroach running across the end table by the bed. Front desk says they cannot move us. 2 nights left. Very concerned. Last night — no water at all on wake up. 6am. 7am. 8am. Plane leaves at 11am. No way to shower or use our toilets. Two staff members say water is out throughout downtown new orleans. Found out this wasnt true. Water pressure was fine on lower levels. Not a common or expected experience with Hyatt in all.
Overall the hotel is nice. The room is very new and has a fully equipped kitchenette. For people who want to cook their own meals while traveling, this is the place to stay. The only problem I noticed is that the toilet wasn't properly cleaned, which is why I'm taking away one star.
Wow very good services, nice rooms and excellent choice of lunch.
Awesome hotel with good free breakfast. You can get omelettes or make your own waffles along with cereal choices, sausage/ bacon, scrambled eggs, fruits, yogurt and coffee, tea, juices. My only complaint is that housekeeping never seems to come during the day even with a sign on the door, only in the later afternoon when I get back to my room.
I stayed at the Hyatt House as part of a work conference. The rooms were fairly nice but the service was what stood out. Our bathroom door was not closing properly and once we informed the reception it was fixed almost immediately. The front desk staff were always friendly and remembered us from the previous day.
I had a horrible time at this place. Actually, it was not horrible. I just had to make the most of it… due to one employee tried to kill my positive vibes. The good is that my suite was upgraded due to them not having available the room I paid for. However, I was not aware that this is a "self service" not "full service" hotel so no room service. After a night of partying on Burbon St Ms. Patrice an African American lady that worked at the desk was really rude to me and called me retarded for inquiring about room service one too many times (2 times). I called the desk asked about room service her tone immediately changed and I had to tell her… really it's just a question. I said thank you… then. I heard her talking and herd about how dumb and retarded my family is for her having to repeat herself again…
First the bad: It's a little far. That's it! Even still we walked to Burbon St and the River area. The good: The staff is great. Everyone from the dude at the front desk to the valet were genuinely friendly and helpful. The hotel is new and really clean. They had comp. Breakfast that was fantastic. They will loan you anything an umbrella, board games even a blender. Great views of the city and the Superdome as well.
Zandre an employee here has amazing customer service and problem solving abilities. She listens well, and try her best to meet the customers needs. She is an asset the Hyatt House and they looking for her to be a managerial position. She helped my busy schedule and stay hectic free when I was was able to get to the room. Thank you!
Less Expensive than the joined Hyatt. Shares the same amenities. Great service. Safe environment. Uber friendly and easy 24/7 access to them.
Excellent location. I stayed in a standard king room. The room was fairly nice. It was modern with high ceilings and great city views. The black out shades that Hyatt House uses are better than other hotels. The shower was a large walk-in tile shower with a full glass front. The bed was very comfortable. Cons: no fridge and no room lock box.
Great place to stay! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the breakfast and the rooms were clean. They have a white noise machine that you can borrow, however, I did not get to try it out on this trip.
Very clean, great hotel staff but kitchen staff were often rude. Even though, the hotel was beautiful, clean kept. The breakfast was truly hearty, amazing and lots of options. Highly recommended.
Location is a mile away from all central attractions by Canal Street. Customer Service is great, very friendly & helpful. Room is very clean & nice view from the 15th floor of the city. Breakfast omelette is freshly made to order. Overall I would stay there again.
Very nice, slighter cheaper to the (attached anyway) Hyatt Regency. Inside the rooms, can you tell the difference? Nice hotel, and one of the better buffet breakfasts of the Hyatt House line. If you'r up for a walk, pretty much everything in New Orleans of interest is within walkable distance. Too lazy to walk? Cable cars are inexpensive.
My room was very nice, clean, and smelled very neutral. The free breakfast was decent, along with the view. The staff was professional and restaurants in the building were awesome.
Service and room to order.
The hotel was beautiful but the valet was horrible. When we arrived the mirrors in room were not clean from last guest. The room was nice, spacious. The bathroom was nice and large. I just feel like they could have dust and cleaned more. The location was good, close to river walk. (15 min walk) The valet was awful. We had to wait 15 mins several time because they had one person working valet. They tell you to call before coming down but, their phone was dead or no one answered. Also. They were not friendly. I'm surprised that such a nice hotel will have a horrible valet that will cost them customers. But, I can say upon checkout the management was very concerned about our valet experience. They were very prompt on making a wrong right and for that we appreciated them for.
Had a great time at the Hyatt and the location was great I really like that you can walk everywhere. The breakfast was great they offer something for everyone. My room was amazing and the bed was soft.
Probably the best overall Hyatt House I’ve ever stayed at. Getting into the hotel is a bit strange (you see the late sign off Poydras, but then the hotel lobby is midway up an office/condo building). The rooms seem brand new and are well decorated. Try and get a studio suite if possible. The cooked-to-order breakfast they serve each morning is complimentary and pretty good for hotel fare. On the weekends and during big events the lines can get long, so try and go during off peak hours.
The views of New Orleans are amazing. The Breakfast was one of the best complimentary breakfasts I've ever had. It is a little strange to take two elevators to get to your room.
The hotel is very nice. Our room was more beautiful than I thought it would be and the corner view is great. The hotel meeting rooms are very clean and well organized.
Nice new large rooms, if you do not want to hear the AC from the Superdome get a room on the opposite side. Low water pressure on the 15th floor. Would stay here again.
The room was very clean and spacious for me and my husband. The valet was horrible. We always had to wait at least 10 minutes for someone to come to the valet post, and then go get our car. We were informed during check-in to call at least 10 minutes before hand to have the car waiting for us, which was a waste of a call. No one was ever at the valet post. After waiting so long each time to get our car, when we got in the car something was always moved around. I am aware that the people who work valet tend to go through your car which is why I locked my glove compartment, but it was blatantly obvious that someone had been through my things. Also, the valet misplaced our keys. Before going to get the car he could not find the keys, we saw him search all over. When he left to get the car he did not have the keys, but he did come back with the car. This lead me to believe that he left the keys in the car, which meant my car was not locked while it was in the garage. Because I feel like my privacy was violated, I would not recommend this hotel.
Excellent Hotel. Great Staff. Responsive Housekeeping. Nice complementary hot breakfast with an omelet bar. Very contemporary. Unknown jewel in Downtown. Will love stay here again.
Amazing amazing amazing! Stay here! Great safe area amazing staff! We got a free upgrade to a suite and oh my god it was the greatest hotel experience ive ever had! Thank you and if we are ever in NO again we will for sure stay there!
THIS HOTEL, WITH BOOKING, are disgusting, disrespectful. I booked BOOKING VIA THE HOTEL AS PETS admitted said. After traveling 12 HOURS, arrived at 10 PM and I find THAT IN THE HOTEL "NO" admitted PETS. Desentendieron they called the problem and "don" booking, that automatically cancel the reservation me (allegedly). QUESTION I got on my own A HOTEL AT 2 PM. The book was cancelled, but when my home banking entro, I find that hyatt hotel charged me 124 uds know no. In question, call hotel where I was told they would settle with booking. Who was contacted me booking, the hyatt disappeared! and booking pretend you send screenshots of my bank account, which agreed to me return my money, and now step one month and I do not have returned, saying my capture screens not serve because there are united by what should I send photos again where my privacy and abuse is a lack of respect. They're cheeky, nobody is responsible for anything, so I decided to make a claim WITH AN ATTORNEY FOR BOTH AS FOR BOOKING HOTEL HYATT.
The stay was great. Customer service was excellent. The breakfast was also a great asset. Overall experience was wonderful. We have made this our hotel when ever we are in New Orleans… we luv it. Juliette Walker and Bruce Winfrey…
Very nice room. Within walking distance of almost everything. Friendly staff. Amazing view at night. Overall very good.
My family and I stayed in two separate rooms at the Hyatt House on July 29-31, 2016 and we had a great experience. The bell man, I forgot his name (the office can look back and see the date and time) started things off by helping us with our baggage. After which, we met Nelly at the registration desk. She was awesome with assisting us in getting registered and accommodated from the time we arrived until we checked out. The rooms were nice and clean and so was the entire hotel. The complimentary breakfast was awesome. The omelette chef, I didn't get name, but she was Black, was extremely nice and accommodating, even when I asked for pepper and she gave me a mixture of pepper and salt and I was rather perturbed because I didn't want salt in it, she kindly gave me some pepper with a smile. I will definitely visit again… Thank you all for your kindness.
I am not usually a review writer, but I felt this stay rated a review for the poor service. For the price, was very disappointed in the service and staff. 4 night stay, three of the four breakfasts attempts were a joke. First day, they "ran out of food. " Yes, that is what the kitchen staff said when there was NOTHING on the line. Not even coffee. Second morning, we had to ask for everything and the kitchen staff had a major attitude. Acted like it was a problem when we requested items they were out of on the line. Not to mention the silver ware holders were dirty and no napkins. There was coffee however.
Over all the staff was very disappointing, three times we requested the car to be brought around had to wait, finally asking the valet to get off his ass (he was too busy playing on his phone and listening to music) to go get our car.
We contacted management at the hotel with all of these concerns on the first day and it seemed to have no affect. The breakfast was still lacking and we had to wait and ask the valet (again) to go get our car after waiting 20 min. With our gear and luggage to leave. I guess there is a reason my partner and I are Gold Marriott Rewards Members. They know how to treat a guest. Wouldn't recommend this Hotel to anyone. Stay somewhere else, you will get better service and value for your money.
We loved the Hyatt House & our room was beautiful. There was a separate living room, a big bedroom, a office area with an island style desk and a large kitchenette. We also had three large flat screen televisions, one in each area. The shower was large enough but did not contain all the water. Some of the water splashed back into the bathroom so we had to put towels on the floor. Parking was available one street over on Girod. You enter from the parking garage through the Hyatt Regency and there is a bit of a walk to the Hyatt House and with the hotels being on different floors different sides of the building, it can be a bit confusing. The Mercedes-Benz Super dome was a quick walk up the street and across from that the Smoothie King Center.
The staff was friendly enough and the breakfast was decent enough but the hotel itself was great. I could be happy in that space for a while. I will definitely book at the Hyatt House in the future. It's not cheap by any means but it's very convenient for all things.
