They fraudulently charged us a smoking fee! They refuse to refund the money.

Service was okay. Good location but No fridge in the room. No room service. The thermostat didn’t work. Room was very cold.

Best place to watch all parades. Great staff and rooms.

We love staying here. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. Reasonable rates and right on the trolley line. Also nice to have a coffee shop down stairs. Lots of good food in the area.

My girlfriend and I stayed here on 8/6/18 to 8/7/18 and loved it. The staff were super polite and always had a smile. Our room came with two free drink tickets, one for both of us, that we could redeem for a free daquiri or a free beer they had on tap. The rooms were clean and the bed super comfortable. The only downsides were on one side of the bed, the lamp didn't work and on the other side of the bed, the outlet didn't work so I couldn't charge my phone next to the bed. Other than that, wonderful hotel in a great location. We will definitely consider staying there again.

Front desk, coffee shop and concier was very pleasant and friendly. Do get the complimentary drinks. Rooms are nice. Far as housekeeping goes THEY SUCKS and makes the hotel look bad. Stayed a week and I can honestly say they only cleaned the room 1 time and didn't do a good job at that. Day 2 ask for extra towels and wash rags it shouldn't take all day (evenly had to go buy my own) even when going to font desk and asking for housekeeping they never showed. Really liked the hotel it was in the middle of everything, but housekeeping give you guys a bad name. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone due to the fact that housekeeping don't do their job. Retrain please.

Customer service is amazing. Donna is wonderful at the front desk. Helped me out with everything! Rooms are clean! Hotel is located around the corner of all the action. I will most definitely stay here on my next visit.

From July 1-5 of 2018, I spent a family vacation at The Royal St. Charles Hotel in New Orleans. What a wonderful experience it was and the location was right next to the action; a five minute walk from Bourbon street to be specific. The hotel is beautiful, clean and has wonderful amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our whole stay was awesome until an incident occurred where the cleaning staff threw away several souvenirs that were purchased throughout the trip. While trying to solve this issue, I came into contact with the general manager of the hotel who was kind enough to resolve this issue for me. He went out of his way and purchased the souvenirs out of his pocket and shipped them directly to me. This kind of exemplary customer service is rare and deserves praise. 10/10 would recommend and should I ever find myself in New Orleans again, I know where I'll be staying!

This place is amazing. The staff is beyond excellent, the location is perfect for walking to the French Quarter and the Warehouse District, there's a trolley stop right out front, the PJ's is quick and super quality (omg, please get the strawberry Danish, you guys), and the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. I can't believe how lucky we were to find this place, and for the price, it's one of the best deals you can get in NOLA. Can't wait to go back and stay again!

Amazing:) rented the room so I could write and relax. The view is beautiful. The staff make you feel at home. The design and decor is an artists dreams in reality. You know you're in New Orleans. Love it:)

The staff won me over. Very friendly and had us laughing the whole time. Valet was also exceptional and professional. My only problem is paying for parking at over $40 per night and they charge to put a microwave and fridge in your room that is ridiculous.

Great prices! A block or so from the Quarter. Friendly and helpful staff. Great rooms! I've stayed here twice and don't have a bad thing to say. And the coffee house in the lobby is pretty great too!

Very nice place right in the center of the city. They have nice rooms and the service is great. This is a great place for the price, and if you want stress free parking I would recommend paying for the parking they offer you. It was my first time in New Orleans and this place made it easier for me. Highly recommend.

I liked it here. Friendly, informal and very close to the French Quarter. There's a coffee shop available through to the late afternoon. There is a mandatory 'amenity fee' which is a little annoying — why not just be honest and include it in the overall rate? — but I would still recommend here.

Valet open the doors for me. The bathrooms were amazing. Best bathroom break of my life. If you're on royal street and need to go, either here or the LA Supreme Court a fee blocks up.

Very nice functional lobby. Coffee vendor on one side. Attractions concierge desk. I like the sitting its public but with enough privacy at the same time. And concierge desk of course. I enjoyed the setup layout.

Nice rooms (if a bit small), clean. Accommodating staff who were willing to hear requests. Good location. A little bit pricey, but otherwise good.

We enjoyed spending time at this hotel. They accepted our cat, which was great. It was next door to a nice casin, which was great for my wife. I was there for a Submariners meeting, and this was a better option than the one reserved for us. The hotel was clean, and the staff friendly. The price was reasonable for downtown New Orleans. It was near many of the attractions.

This hotel is in a great location; very close to the French Quarter and the streetcar stops right out front to take you uptown. You can easily get anywhere in the city by foot or streetcar from the hotel, very convenient. The front desk staff is extremely friendly, especially the woman who checked us in (I wish I could remember her name). She made an easy process of switching us to a room with two beds since we were having another friend join us. Concierge was helpful in suggesting restaurants and even gave us tokens for a free tasting at the distillery! The lobby and coffee shop were beautiful and clean, and having a PJs in the lobby was convenient for my morning coffee fix. The room itself is why this hotel is only getting three stars. It was small, with few amenities, and it was not clean upon arrival. The sheets on my bed were gritty and dirty. On the second day, we asked the front desk to change the sheets; it never happened. In six nights, housekeeping only cleaned the room twice. On one occasion, all they did was change the wastebaskets and make the beds (bathroom was not cleaned, carpets not vacuumed). On the other occasion, a different day, the beds were not made and the wastebaskets not changed, but the bathroom was cleaned and toilet paper replaced. We repeatedly had to call down to the front desk (almost nightly) to request fresh towels and toilet paper (side note: I don't care about fresh towels, but my friend preferred to have new ones.

The room I stayed in was not the best. The head boards, the lamps, side tables, the shower floor was all dirty. The sink was clogged and the shower head wasn't spraying water everywhere. The maintenance man was so patient and helpful and it seemed like he was everywhere at one time. The valeted damaged my father's truck and at the coffee stand, the servers weren't very attentive to the customers. I stood at the sounter waiting for the server to acknowledge me and offer some assistance. They were not the best.

Right on the St. Charles trolley line, stop out front of the hotel, convenient! Staff friendly and helpful. King cake and complimentary beverages available daily, nice touch. Rooms are adequate, our superior king was a small bathroom, king bed, large television (who comes to NOLA to watch TV? ) I'd go back.

Easy check in. The Bell clerk kept our bags so we could explore until our check in time. Everyone was pretty friendly. They had complementary frozen daiquiris upon check-in & the front desk attendants were all so nice. Room was spacious & clean, with a separate living room. Will def be staying here again.

Hotel ST Charles is well located, has nice rooms, something small do not have a minibar, fridge or microwave, but are comfortable. The hotel does not offer breakfast service, but in the lobby there is a small cafeteria that provides expressed service. Affordable parking fee (self services) $20.00 for 24 hrs.

Well placed to go out in the evening in the French Quarter, attention the parking is paid and away from the hotel. It's $35 a day if you use the valet service. The rooms are well equipped and quiet.

Great location positioned just outside the French Quarter. Booked a queen room and was adequate space for 2 people. Rooms are clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. Coffee shop in the lobby is also great. Only thing lacking is a fridge but otherwise a lovely place to stay.

Comfortable and clean. Fantastic location. But the walls are super thin, and you can totally hear EVERYTHING going on the rooms next to you. Not ideal if you're a light sleeper. They give you a free drink ticket at check in for a daiquiri or a Bud Light. I'd stick with the beer though because I don't think they're very attentive to the daiquiri machine — the one we got was way too much mix and not frozen at all. It was a cool experience and I'm glad I tried it, but probably won't come back.

The hotel was not too bad. We were in a room facing a street on the 7th floor and we could hear the noise from the street below. The rooms were small for the average hotel but a good size for New Orleans. The people at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Self parking was $20 a day and 3 blocks down the street. We got 2 tickets for beer for our stay at the hotel. They also gave out king cake. They played music on the floors when you were waiting for the elevators. There is the PJ's coffee cafe in the lobby which was a nice spot. They have a 24 hour workout room with 2 treadmills, a bike, and some weights.

The service and the people who work there are excellent. The rooms are not so big but if they are clean.

The valet greets you at arrival and offers service ($35/night). You can park right at the front to check in and unload your bags, but then you'll have to park in a garage 3 blocks away ($20/night) if you didn't valet. The room was clean and modern. Every staff encounter was pleasant. The lobby has a PJ's coffee. It is walking distance from attractions and a short taxi ride to anything you'd be doing downtown. Would stay here again.

Being off season, we were able to "upgrade" our room to a queen suite with a balcony. Check-in was quick and easy as we had already paid for the room. We were given 2 tickets total for our choice of either a bud lite draft or a hurricane. We both chose the hurricane. We DON'T recommend the hurricane. We had to unload our car a use one of the carts to take our items to our room. We chose the Valet Parking service costing an additional $35/day. Our other choice was "self parking" for $20/day and walk 3 blocks back to the hotel. The Valet attendant did nothing more than take the keys to the car, even after a $10 tip, he did not offer assistance with our bags or anything else. The room was spacious and comfortable aside from the lighting which was horrible. The room was very clean however. The balcony was fantastic with a great view (IMO) of the street below. All in all, the stay was lackluster and slightly disappointing when it came to our accomodations. We did not feel as though we received the service that most would expect from a high quality hotel. We would stay there again, but not upgrade our room choice.

Very conveniently located. The concierge and staff is friendly and helpful. Beds are super comfy and the coffee shop in the lobby is delicious. Parking is not on site, but around the corner in a shared garage with the Hilton Garden. Parking is paid, but cheaper than many other hotels in the area. Lobby bar is open 24 hours and you get 2 free drink tickets as a welcome to the hotel.

Nice hotel, good area. Although it is not in the French Quarter, it is very close and around the there are many things to do and see.

Hotel is okay, albeit clearly in the years come. Room service has a clear air upwards. The location is good and nearby there are cheap overnight parking garages.

The hotel by itself is like a 3 star but the staff makes it a 4. The rooms are super small a/c works great. The windows are very small and pretty high on the wall. Example I am 6'1" and would need a chair to stand on just to look out.

Charged 11.95 per night extra for a "welcome drink" and stuff a hotel should provide anyway and without telling us in advance. Saw that nice surprise on my credit card. Never experienced something like that before and I've been to a lot of hotels before!

The room was very nice, with great beds. It was close walking distance to restaurants and the night life scenes. Great location to be in.

The stars are for the staff, no fridge, no microwave, no extras, not even complimentary coffee in the lobby, the a/c worked great but still did not eliminate the dampness in the air in the room, sewer gas came up the sink drain every time I turned on the faucet, and street noise horrible, woke at 4 a. M by trash collection. Stepping out onto the sidewalk, your instantly approached by people begging, others checking out your jewelry, no safe feeling at all. Definitely a place for the young. I did not choose this hotel, I'll leave it at that. And won't ever go back to Nola.

GREAT LOCATION! Two blocks from Bourbon St. One block from Canal St. PJ's coffee in the lobby. Streetcar pickup right on the corner in front of the hotel. The amenity charge is unnecessary and undisclosed to you until you check in. So be prepared to pay an additional 11.95 per night for items that a hotel should provide anyway. The rooms were clean, the service was very friendly. And you receive a free drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) when you check in.

Great hotel amazing location close to everything but don't get any noise. Get a drink on arrival. At&t right across the street if from out of the country and need a SIM card. Coffee shop in lobby of the hotel. 2 TVs in room and a couch. Only negatives there was extra $11.95 fee per day I didn't know I had to pay on arrival (probably just didn't see the fine print), no refrigerator in room and bathroom was little small. Great hotel though would stay here again!

The location is perfect if you're staying in New Orleans and want to see the French Quarter, as it's only a block away. The rooms were nice and clean, and you have your own thermostat. The service was helpful and friendly.

Checking in at the hotel, the people were pleasant. The room was small but very cute and clean. The next morning at the info desk they were very helpful answering questions about the trolley and local must stops! Trolley stop out front is nice and convenient. Location is great, 1 block over from Bourbon st. Not too far to stumble back after late drinking. We will definitely be back!

Royal St. Charles was a great home base for our wedding weekend. Tiffany was easy and great to work with in reserving a room block and accommodating for any of our special needs. They were reasonably priced, and the location was really easy for walking so many places and hopping right on the trolley at the stop right outside the hotel. The cocktails on tap and coffee bar are nice perks right in the lobby.

What a great place to stay. The building apparently has a lot of history but feels very modern and new. The lobby has a popular coffee shop, a funky/colorful lounge area and mixed drinks on tap at the checkin desk. The fresh, free king cake samples were constantly being refreshed so eventually I had to just cut myself off. Everything in the room seemed new and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. Everything about the hotel was great. PLUS the trolley line stops right at the front door & Bourbon Street is a short walk away. Just far enough away that you don't hear the noise or are swamped with the foot traffic but close enough to never need a ride there. Great location. Fantastic restaurants within walking distance. I'll be back.

The rooms are pretty small, but as I was never planning on staying in the room aside from sleeping I didnt care. And honestly, they did an amazing job making use of the space they give you. The hotel staff is amazingly courteous and helpful, they even had king cake for us to sample during the day. Downside: I'm not used to paying for parking.

I had several problems with my stay and I their response was abysmal. Problems: 1. They double charged me in addition to my Groupon 2. Room service threw away some very important documents for which I made the trip for 3. IT technical issues where they took out approx $150 dollars out of my card each day (ultimately it returns it thankfully) Action they took: They decided to waive the 60$ in amenity fees from my card, but now about a month later they actually reversed it and took the money back again. Their staff are friendly, but these issues really ruined the end of my stay.

DON'T STAY HERE! This hotel is the WORST ever! They charged $250 on our card after we checked out! They didn't give us any notice, and they say that they found a hole on the wall in the room we stayed! How ridiculous is this? My husband and I stayed there for Christmas, and we didn't do any thing to the stupid wall. Why would we make a hole to the wall? We don't understand what they are saying, but the hotel is saying that they have a photo about the hole. I think they are charging us for a preexisting hole or a hole they made by themselves. I am so upset about this terrible hotel. Please~~ don't be a target to them! Also, they have a terrible customer service. It's very difficult to contact to the manager, and they don't even have an e-mail address for customer service! TERRIBLE!

WALKED IN AND THEN WALKED RIGHT OUT! Parking is a block and a half away or you pay $35 PER NIGHT for valet. What? Funny how they tell you this after you pay for the room. Made a reservation for 2 adults 1 child for a queen and pull out within an hour of showing up, only to arrive to find we were crammed into a closet sized room that a"queen" took most of up. Checked the size out. It isn't a queen. They are charging for a queen and giving you a double. Wtf? Just to give you an idea our luggage cart barely fit with the bed in the room. We stayed at the courtyard before here and the queen we had there was definitely a queen so we could tell there was a size difference. The "view" was a strange combo of what looks like square bubble glass that you can't see through. And the floor was not scrubbed out in the shower. On top of this we have a service dog and there are no Grass patches for your pup within at least 15 blocks. I immediately called the desk and was denied a refund bc of it being through Expedia, even with this not being what we set up. I explained that I'm not paying for a room and one of us having to sleep on your dirty floor. Then was told for what we originally requested it would now be $220 to stay in another room. The woman at the front desk was giving us a different story than the woman we were calling. They were both pointing fingers at each other saying talk to her about it.

The hotel and room itself was nice, especially for the price we got as a special deal. However, I probably wouldn't stay there at the regular rate. The location was perfect, right in downtown NOLA so it made walking around easier. They offer valet parking for $39 (incl. Taxes) and self parking is $20. We were only there one night and mentioned that we would just park it ourselves to save money and they offered to park it themselves for $15. They might not do this every time, but at least they compromised. Overall it was a nice experience.

Loved it! Summer of 2015 Tu-Fr, couple. Location is amazing, staff was friendly, the room is very very nice and the bed was just spectacularly comfortable and plush! Nearly wall to wall window view since I got a corner room. Bathroom was a wee bit cramped what with the door being so close to the toilet but not a big deal. Streetcar outside was back in service before we left which was a treat! Didn't have to park any car thankfully, as that is expensive and troublesome to bring and have in NO. Well priced through their advance pre-purchase and groupon deals too. Not one bad thing whatsoever, loved it! It did what it was supposed to do and it did it well. Quiet too!

Nothing at this hotel is as advertised on the site. I'm not sure where the positive reviewers stayed during their visit but the room I was assigned was horribly small, as in maybe 100 sf — maybe! There's less than an inch between the bathroom door & the toilet! The rooms smell musty & the walls are so thin you can easily hear conversations in every direction! And parking? Blocks away AND they charge more than $20 per day?!?! Forget it! This place and any few amenities are grossly overpriced! I will not stay again and I DO NOT recommend this establishment!

We found the accommodations and amenities to be outstanding! The staff was excellent. Even to the point of a bellhop on our floor, asking us which room we had, and pointing us in the right direction. The Parking garage was close, well lit, and patrolled 24 hours a day. The location was excellent! We were within walking distance of many restaurants and bars, which made for a great night! We would definitely recommend the Royal Saint Charles Hotel to anyone who wants to experience the best of New Orleans!

The Royal St Charles Hotel was everything I could've asked for and more. I would recommend it to anyone! Located at the corner of Royal and St Charles it's a 5 minute walk to the Quarter and 10 minute walk to the warehouse district. Everyone from the front desk the cleaning lady was friendly and helpful. The staff was nice enough to tell me what were tourist traps and where their favorite spots to go were. The room was clean, spacious, beautiful view. There's music playing throughout the hotel so it has that fun energy to it. The Royal St Charles also have Hurricanes on tap so that probably helped with my fun energy ;) New Orleans is my favorite city to visit and now the Royal St Charles will be my new home away from home. Can't wait to come back!

I had a wonderful experience staying at the Royal St. Charles for 2 nights. The property is conveniently located for everything you may want to see in New Orleans. I had easy access to Bourbon Street, The French Quarter, and even the Smoothie King Center/SuperDome. If you want to stay closer to home, the hotel lobby is just as convenient and has a cafe in the lobby, a sitting area where you can watch tv, a wonderful fitness center, and a business area! In addition, the hotel offers valet parking. Aside from all these things, when you stay with the Royal St. Charles, you will experience a modern property with a friendly and caring staff, great service, beautiful views of the city, and a 5 star experience at a 3 star price! Great lil quaint nice place. Not alot of room. But nice. Clean and centrally located.

We just got back from our stay (10/23-10/26) yesterday. We were impressed with the hotel from check-in to checkout. The valet and front desk are extremely helpful and friendly. There is a $10.00 a night "resort fee", this is a common thing for the area, so don't be thrown off by it. Location is less than half a mile from Bourbon St. And pretty much everything else. We will definitely be staying again.

Best hotel I've stayed in New Orleans! The location is great, the front desk people were always SUPER helpful, and our hotel room was amazing. Comfortable bed, great view, awesome bathroom. Every time I called they would answer the phone rather quickly and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff. Bought the stay through Groupon but will definitely be coming back. We were sad to leave our hotel room! Only cons I can think of are the hotel parking which is about two blocks from the hotel, and the bed sheets didn't breath too well, but we turned up the a/c and the problem was solved.

I recently stayed at Royal St. Charles from 07/03-07/07 and I enjoyed every minute of my experience. The front desk staff was always pleasant and greeted me each day upon arrival and departure. My room (#409) was perfect. It was a comfortable size, clean and had a view that overlooked Gravier street. The location was great and the price per night was competitive. At night, the hotel had a make shift bar which was a nice addition to the vibrant atmosphere. I will definitely return in the future. Thanks to the staff for making my visit so enjoyable.

The best hotel I have had the priveledge of staying at. The rooms were emmaculate. The staff was great. I lost my credit card the day I checked out. I didn't realize until I was 100 miles away. One of the clerks had found it on the ground and turned it in. I will be staying here anytime I visit New Orleans.

The Royal St. Charles Hotel is wonderful. The staff is, to a person, polite and very helpful. I have been travelling under a handicap, but haven't had one bit of a problem. They deal with me hobbling on my crutches and have gone out of their way to see that I get the transportation I need and that is a real blessing. This hotel is lovely, quiet, and close to easy transportation to almost anywhere else in New Orleans you would want to go. And better still, it is very affordable.

The hotel is excellently located, you can walk around the French Quarter without setbacks, small rooms but comfortable, with clean bathrooms and many towels, the bad thing was the breakfast which was only coffee and a donut, the internet is on the second floor room and this included in your resort fee payment. Highly recommended.
