Reviews of Hilton New Orleans / St. Charles Avenue 4*
I don’t know what all the hype is about this place it’s awful. Bad area. Terrible guest services will be filing a complaint now that I’ve checked and I can get people sets straight that need to be. Wish we would’ve chosen somewhere else. Overall horrible experience right off the get-go. That should’ve been a sign to go somewhere else but I have business here to take care of I needed a place close by to it. Their A/V royal productions awful terrible bad company. The Director and the technicians especially Stanley horrible. I do not recommend as a generalized hotel or for any of us extra services.
Clearly, the best in all of New Orleans. Directly on the Mississippi River with commanding views of the river and the city. Spacious, well appointed rooms. Incredible meeting spaces. But the best part is the staff — nice people, well trained, they invented southern hospitality.
Everything was nice, the room was excellent so was staff.
We had a great time! Quiet except when the trains comes passing lol. It was cleaned and our room has the river view which is nice. Over all it was a great stay! We also ate at the restaurant during breakfast and buffet was great! Shout out to Ms Pamela it was very good omelette 😋
Staff is efficient and courteous. Rooms and lobby are clean.
Great get away for me. Facility clean and staff friendly.
Great hotel room great experience and they have beignet at the mall.
Very nice atmosphere. Well sanitized and clean. Great front door service.
Very calm and peaceful. Connected to a mall and has a wonderful restaurant… great location.
Very clean and we felt very safe in that environment when the hotel took extra precautions during Covid to keep the area clean, sanitized, and safe for their guests.
Poor draining bathroom tub/small bathroom. Erratic TV service. Musty/unclean smelling room. Expected better from Hilton. Very unhappy.
Took 45 minutes to check in.
Parking card wasn't programmed properly.
Concierge was absolutely zero help. She either wanted to be home on Thanksgiving or just didn't want to help me. Very disappointed ☹️
Incredibly poor oversight This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a travel for work stay. I absolutely recommend do NOT stay at the Hilton hotels. I don't know where the miscommunication is occurring, but I have never had to wait TWICE unable to get into my room for over an hour. I work 12-16 hour days, sometimes longer. I have now missed the tour I bought tickets for earlier today. Every Front desk agent and all of the frontline employees with whom I have interacted have been kind and helpful; this isn't their fault. But somewhere in leadership something is broken in your process. Please fix it for the sake of others, unlike myself, who may continue to stay at your establishments. Thank you; happy Halloween.
We checked in and was greeted like we stayed here often. We were eligible for an upgrade and we were offered a very nice suite. All in all, a most excellent experience. We have booked rooms for our next 6 visits to New Orleans!
All of the above EXCELLENT SERVICE 10 stars.
Great location. Classic architecture. Great front desk staff. I would definitely stay here again.
Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, very clean room & bathrm. Great view of river.
Clean room, friendly staff, comfortable bed.
Great location. Spacious room. Excellent customer service.
Great Location, spacious rooms, beautiful views, wonderful customer service
Housekeeping could possibly use a refresher in cleaning training.
Great staff, friendly service, clean and lovely rooms, WONDERFUL pillows!
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Very nice and clean! People are very friendly.
Service was horrible, lights was out for 3 hours rude staff just horrible.
All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. We didn’t need anything, when I checked in the lady noticed I was hot and out of breath and ahe got me water…
The front desk staff are amazing. Cain was the manager on duty during my stay and he was the most customer friendly manager I’ve met at a hotel. He remembered my name and made me feel important. The Bell Desk staff are truly exceptional. My luggage was stored for me while I waited for my room and once my room was ready, the staff brought it up to the room for me. It reminded me of when I went to Disney World. 10/10 recommend!
Really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were very clean. Friendly staff from the desk associates to housekeeping. Really enjoyed being able to text for any housekeeping needs. Awesome location to be able to go to the mall and many attractions in New Orleans. Would definitely recommend and stay at this location.
Beautiful comfortable hotel.
My husband and I stayed this past weekend as a getaway. Loved the city view from our room. Really romantic at night. Everything was in walking distance including shopping. We felt really safe during this pandemic. Can’t wait to come back once COVID has slowed down. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hilton is one of my favorite Hotels, all their employees work professionally and treat you like family.
Very nice atmosphere, staff are very professional and everything is looked after for their customers safety during this pandemic. Will definitely stay here again and I’m here for 5 days. I really should extend my stay.
I stayed there in December and reported my room smelled like smoke. Bad! Nothing was done or offered. Upon my return home and after unpacking my smoke smelling suitcase (everything smelled of smoke even toiletries and makeup bags) I called the hotel to express my disappointment. I was offered an apology and Hilton honor points which I NEVER even received.
Great location.
Beautiful very clean rooms.
I
love outside going elevator with beautiful view.
Front desk people very helpful.
I definitely will stay again in this hotel.
Enjoyed every minute. King suite with the nice long glassed shower is everything.
Scott the manager is awesome. He respected my diamond member status and when there were no upgrades available he still made it happen. Good people makes a better experience. The Mississippi River view is amazing! I stayed on the 27th floor. You will love it, cheers Mike Famous and check out my invention thats perfect for New Orleans at rhythmvizion. Com.
We arrived two hours early and the woman at the front desk let us check In early and was super helpful and kind! Just left Mississippi and the worst customer service so arriving here was greatly appreciated.
Bait and Switch on AA Hotel offers sells you Largest King Suite with Breakfast included in rate and the aaoffers. Com site does not honor I know we came during a storm that refused free parking and valet during a freaking hurricane. Now the $20 Luke Burger was freaking awesome.
Good rooms, parking is ridiculous, you have to pay for Wi-Fi.
My family and I visited this establishment for a purposed 3-day stay in July 2020 hoping to receive the Hilton experience and indulge in the delectable food from Drago's Restaurant. Immediately, our desires were impeded because the restaurant was closed, and had been since March due to the Corona virus, unbeknownst to us. This was the beginning of our nightmare! That night we requested additional towels and duvet which we were told would be delivered in an hour.
The next day, I contacted valet to retrieve my vehicle. As the family and I were heading out on our excursion, the valet driver came hastily around the corner with our vehicle with no reservations. Following this rash treatment, that night valet services were not available. We were told that we had to self park, which was in a separate garage behind the hotel.
With all of these inconsistencies, we decided to discontinue our stay a day early.
Oh by the way, we did receive those towels and duvet 2 days later when we checked out. We won't patron this establishment again. So disappointed with the Hilton! Do not open your doors for business if you can not handle your business!
Disgruntled customer,
D. Johnson.
I want to take a moment to thank the staff and management at this hotel for returning my wallet to me. I accidentally left my wallet in the safe in my room. Six hours later, when I got home, I realized what I has done. The staff promptly returned my wallet to me with all of my cash still in it. Thank you, thank you, thank you… your integrity and honesty is much appreciated.
Friendly staff, clean and wonderful views close to the French Quarter.
Great accommodations! BUT Parking is too high… even when you’re a guest at the hotel.
Very nice staff! Rooms are a hot outdated, the lobby, bars and restaurants are really nice. Great river view from our room!
Great hotel and very professional staff.
Beautiful ballroom and beautifully decorated — — great atmosphere — friendly servers — great bar, well stocked — food was excellent, favorites were the crawfish etoufee and bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp. Love my New Orleans.
Great experience, great staff and nice rooms.
Great views. Awesome staff.
Love Drago’s, clean rooms, great customer service!
The staff was rude and obviously did not want to be there. The room was lackluster at best, there was a weird stain on the wall and the wallpaper was peeling. The coffee maker hadn't been cleaned out so when I went to use it it poured out a foul smelling brown liquid, and that is the only thing I can say they fixed quickly. We only received turn down service one day, and even though we told several staff members our bathroom sink continued to drain very slowly until the day we left. I must say I'm very unimpressed by Hilton.
This a wonderful ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ facility. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Great location lots to do all within walking distance.
We love staying at the Hilton New Orleans! Staff was very friendly, rooms are very nice. Very centrally located.
Staff never answers the phone, took forever to check in. My room took forever to be cleaned well after 3 pm. They add tons of service fees so a 15 dollars pizza and Coke turns into thirty dollars. For the cost I expect excellent service which I didn't receive here.
Roaches in our room, they did nothing to make it right and charged full price. So gross, will never go back.
Love it here! Great views and atmosphere. Employees are friendly!
Terrible hotel and customer service. Do not go for the view… you cannot see out of the windows. Old windows completely covered with reverse condensation AND they charge extra for the view.
The rooms are beautifully appointed and comfortable. Beautiful river view and within a walking distance to anything you want to do and see.
The hotel staff was great, but the transportation staff, which was the first point of contact was ULTRA RUDE FOR NO REASON. We were asking simple questions being that we were tourists, and they were snappy, told us to read the sign and walked away. Not cool!
Very nice but everything closes at like 9 or 10pm. All the staff was very cordial and accommodating.
My wife and I stayed at the Hilton riverside 10/26 — 10-29 and had a fantastic time. The staff was fantastic and friendly. We had dinner at Drago's (the seafood restaurant inside the hotel) on Saturday night and the food was great. I HIGHLY recommend the charbroiled oysters, don't skimp on half a dozen, you want a dozen. The hotel is within walking distance on the French Quarter, the ferry and the riverboat cruises. Harrah's Casino is also right across the street. We will definitely be staying again in the future.
Great hotel, great location, always clean. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Always enjoyed my stay here, if you opt for the higher level floor, you get a complimentary breakfast on the upper level, that brunch area has a great view of the city, its worth the 10-20.00 upgrade charge.
I stayed here for the National Guard Association Conference 2018 and I will stay the staff at this hotel was super friendly and catered to our entire event. My room was awesome with a riverfront view and was very spacious! Thanks again Hilton!
I really loved my hotel room. Comfortable bed, great view of the city, close to the convention center, and nice restaurants. The only thing that could have been better was hotter water in the showers. The water was warm I just like my showers borderline scorching.
Service was great from the very beginning. Blacks in Government training conference was well coordinated with the Hilton staff. Clean room and the facility was always top notch. Love the location being so close to the French Quarters. Food is awesome at the hotel.
Very nice accommodations, friendly staff and good service!
Very arrogant and unfriendly reception team! Opaque in the prices on the accommodation price besides tax and tourist tax, besides tax and tourist tax, some taxes are added to it on consultation with the management come the taxes from the headquarters aha but what did not you know… Airport shuttle paid for 3 and receipt received were registered only 2. Last but not least, a bathroom with mould. Not recommended despite the good location.
My husband and I have traveled to and lodged in much nicer hotels. For it being a Hilton property in an excellent location on the river in New Orleans, one would think the hotel would have major upgrades. The amenities are nice and the mall attached to it is also nice. The hotel is located near all the main attractions on Canal Street and just a few blocks from the French Quarter. The service is excellent, too. We will return.
This place was the worst experience of our life. The front desk people were extremely rude and condescending. We were told that we would receive a special discount on the rooms because we were booked on an American Queen paddle boat tore up the Mississippi. Well that was a joke and a room that you could get it Motel 6 for $69 they charged over $400 for. It's a rip-off and I would recommend that you try one of the boutique hotels like the hotel st. Marie rather than wasting all your money at this piece of s*** place. You pay an arm and a leg for parking. The hotel is huge and you could wind up walking three to four hundred yards just to get to your room. No one seemed to care except the Porter's who are expecting to see a tip from you. The buffet that they offer in the morning for breakfast is just a generic Buffet with nothing special and the price would make you choke. The drinks at the bar are so expensive you wonder why you just didn't go to the French Quarter for a drink. If I could give this zero Stars I would. If you take a look on Yelp you'll see that they get absolute horrible reviews all the time. I guess the only good selling point is that if you're a gambler the casino is across the street but then again why not just stay at the hotel attached to the casino.
My husband and I decided to come to New Orleans at the last minute. I called to book a room overlooking the Mississippi River. The Hilton had a room exactly as I requested. The view was spectacular both day and night. The room was clean and we had plenty of hot water for a shower. I saw previous comments about being on the 7th floor and not having hot water. Well, we were on the 26th floor and had plenty of hot water. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating. We will most definitely come back for another visit as we live only about four hours from New Orleans.
Pros: good location, nice proximity to all sorts of bars, restaurants and shopping in the French Wuarter. Good housekeeping and catering staff. Very good front desk staff. Huge hotel (could be a con), with a busy and active feel to it. Hotel food was edible, but nothing to write home about. Cons: In — room AC could be stronger. It’s hot in NO, and I could have used a couple degrees cooler, but the AC seems to not let guests adjust south of 70 degrees. In-hotel FedEx facility. Rude people, and corporate scam-artists. We had our event displays shipped in from CA; and although we paid FedEx a small fortune to get the materials here, the package handlers in the hotel charged an additional $35 for inbound ‘handling’ (that’s, handing the package to me and letting me lug it to the event) and outbound ‘handling’ (handing the box to the FedEx driver). Use USPS and ship to the hotel — my strong recommendation. All in all, a so-so experience. There are better, cuter, quainter hotels to stay at in NO, and aside from my conference, I would not choose this place again, mainly because of the FedEx folks.
Hotel was nicer than expected and room was clean and we'll kept. We didn't spend much time with hotel staff but they were reasonably friendly. The Public Belt was great for an in-hotel bar. The Marketplace (in hotel convenience store) and service at their "continental breakfast" ruined their chances for 5-stars. Both of which you can easily avoid.
My friends and I were in town for the Jazz fest. While checking in, we asked if we could take advantage of any upgrades. The four of us ladies were upgraded to a suite at a very reasonable price. It helped our weekend go much smoother with the added room. Gorgeous room and views. We were all extremely satisfied with the location of the hotel and our stay there. We would definitely recommend!
Good location, just by the French quarter and near trolley lines. Staff are friendly and responsive. My only issue has been the shower area in the room. The tile grout lines had dark mold or mildew like areas. Not what I was expecting. They moved me to another room, it was better but not perfect. First time I had this in a Hilton.
The hotel is nice, great location between the convention center and the French quarter. The rooms are a little but aged, but the common areas are very nice. What they really need is a bigger restaurant. Or perhaps a higher restaurant. In the morning the breakfast and in the evenings for dinner the waiting is outrageous. That's also apply for the Starbucks, where you may have to do a 15-20th minutes for your coffee sometimes.
Very nice and elegant. The localizaciion is prerfecta for any tourist. It's in the middle of the French Quarter.
The location of the hotel was beautiful however, our room was awful. There was black mold in our toilet, sunflower seeds all over the floor, goldfish crackers in the safe, what appeared to be a booger stuck to a picture frame on the wall. We asked housekeeping 3 different times to clean our room and the only time they actually came back to clean they did a poor job, didn't touch the bathroom and they tracked sunflower seeds all over the room. Finally after 3 requests we went down to the front desk, they sent housekeeping up. They were unable to clean the black mold off so they called the head maintenance manager, they referred to him as an engineer. He proceeded to argue with us stating that it was rust not black mold and that it looked just like his toilet at home. We let him know that the toilet rim was caked with black mold, not rust. Once he proceeded to clean it he said, "oh yeah, I guess it was black mold, it's coming off now". We weren't offered anything other than a free breakfast the next morning. We were very unsatisfied with our stay, this experience has definitely made us rethink staying at Hilton Hotels.
Unimpressive hotel with equally unimpressive customer service. My company booked (four rooms for three nights) two months in advance of an event, and at check-in I was told that I would have to move to a different room the next day because they “oversold certain room types. ” I was forced to move to a lesser quality room and no compensation was offered for their mistake. When pressed, they gave me a $50 dining credit — the room charges alone to my company were over $3500 for the three days. You lost a customer, Hilton. I will avoid in the future for both personal and business travel.
Loved our stay here! Room was very clean and nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable about the area. I wish I had gotten the name of the maid that cleaned our room, she was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.
This is a really nice hotel. The staff here has been nothing but amazing. The rooms are very clean and the hotel is within walking distance of a lot of interesting locations. The health club is stunning with 8 full size tennis courts (4 of which can be used as basketball courts).

RespondI attended The Governor's Games, a club volleyball event that was held at the Hilton Riverside Hotel. I parked in the wrong garage and was having a hard time finding my way to the gym level. One of the valets was so nice. He basically walked me to the volleyball courts. The receptionist took her time in speaking with me about the tournament also. Upon leaving, I saw the valet again. He made a quick joke, asking if I needed help finding my car. Lol! Great staff. Very organized and clean. Good ole Southern Hospitality! ❤️
As a Hilton honors gold member, I was unimpressed. I've stayed in this hotel several times before but it's definitely more worn down now. The 1st room I checked in had insects in the bathroom. You think they'd check me into an upgrade but I got a room with an even worse view (the building wall and part of the bridge) and looked even more dated. Small rooms & the amenities shut down pretty early. They're charging extra because of the location because the conference price isn't worth what you get. Very noisy as there were sounds inside all night, never mind the train that others already spoke about. They don't have the cocktail hour that most Hilton honors members are accustomed to, so other than a couple bottles of water there really wasn't a perk to being a member.
In town for the New Orleans marathon. The hotel was really nice and in a great location. I didn't use any of the restaurants, gym or any of that. The room was good. Overall it's a good place to stay if you want to walk to the French quarter or anywhere else downtown. The main knock on the place that I have is the fee for parking. $44 for self parking is absolutely insane.
The hotel has everything. Convenient for many places and restaurants. Burn service.
This was our first time in New Orleans attending a conference and we decided on the Hilton based on the list of reviews. We wanted a location that was convenient to the convention center, French Quarters, tourist sites and street cars — this location was perfect. We walked to the convention center in about 10 minutes outside via the street or if you want to stay inside to avoid the heat/rain you can take a longer walk through the adjacent River Walk shopping mall. We walked to French Quarters on our first day. During the other days, we took the Street Cars to the WWII Museum, up canal street and to the Garden District. It was fun to take the Street Car on Canal Street all the way to the end and then back again. This gave us a good picture of the city and local people. All of the street car stations are walking distance from the Hilton. The waterfront streetcar is located next to the Hilton front entrance. The bathroom seemed small for an upscale hotel, but our room was very nice on the 24th floor with a wonderful view of the city. King size bed was comfortable and the towels were fluffy soft. New Orleans is a hot/humid city and we were able to keep our room cool and even cold at times (the way we like it coming from the north). The Concierge at the Hilton was very helpful with ideas for restaurants and points of interest. They recommended Muriel's at Jackson Square on or first night and the food was very delicious — it was an excellent way to start our stay in New Orleans.
This review is going to be a challenge. If you get a room, make sure you are facing the River. Regardless to the Main Tower, Building 2 or 3, you will not get much sleep otherwise. The train tracks are not only for the Tram, there are Freight Trains running and they have to sound their horn! Check in and Check out is super slow, expect 30 to 60 minute wait time. Regarding the Hotel, a large complex with many services. The staff is always happy to help and provides good services. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable however the rooms may not be the size that you would expect. Make sure your AC/Heat works before you unpack. Event services completely missed the mark.
My barista I prepared a soda Italian. There is No option of soda Italian on the menu. Is appreciated a lot.
Friendly staff who were very accommodating and clean room with a great view! After we checked in the hotel's concierge sent me a text message asking if our room was to our liking and if we needed anything. I thought that was a lovely feature! Room service was timely and the food was amazing! Who knew some of the best lobster mac and cheese was at a hotel in New Orleans? Cleaning service checked-in daily with us and did a great job each time they cleaned. Overall a wonderful experience! I would absolutely come back and recommend to others!
Horrible customer service. First of all it took over an hour to check in, when we finally got to the front desk there was no apology for our wait or anything. It took at least 15 minutes for each person to receive their room keys. It was the Sugar Bowl weekend and only 4 people were working the front desk when there were at least 7 other empty computers workers could have been at! If you're going to advertise as a place to accommodate that many people then you better make sure you have enough workers to check everyone in a timely manner. Second of all, don't charge your room for parking because your key won't work when you get to the parking garage and you'll end up paying for it anyways. Witnessed several people having to do this. When I called to get it taken care of, operator just told me it would be taken care of and didn't ask for my name or anything. She just hung up the phone. After calling again a few days later, I was transferred to a front desk employee who was equally unfriendly. The Marriott has a lot better customer service if you're looking for somewhere to stay in New Orleans. Not here.
Gorgeous views depending on your room, amazing lobby/restaurants/bars and clean rooms. Staff is super kind. Only problem is that it'svimpossible to find your way around the place. I spent at least half my time there trying to find out where I was going or how to get out of the place. That's hyperbolic, obviously, but you get my point. If you're cool with being lost a lot, this place is cool.
Want to give 0 stars Derrick if u see him is rude and so is some other staff. He declined something that was promised to us. Another staff agreed for a parking discount (original 45$) after you buy stuff at the mall but he decline like he didn't know and didn't care. He knows nothing. Even though he is a supervisor, the employees sound better than him. Also dont book the hotel. If you book the standard cheap rate then they are going to transfer you to the extended hotel by the train tracks. There is no view and the windows are small. Do not try the hotel. The building is trash just like the staff.
Decent hotel. Be prepared for a hike to get to your room, but I felt safe. Snack bar had extended hours which was nice. Staff was friendly.
Excellent service and clean rooms. Only issues were that the tub didn't drain well, and they didn't give us more our toilet paper on the second day of our stay, causing us to run out that evening. Overall though, great experience and stay. Would recommend. It's one of the more clean, and safe places to stay in New Orleans. Also the proxemity to the Riverside outlet mall is superb.
This hotel is pretty mediocre. Although the room isn't overtly dirty, it isn't overtly clean either. Upon our arrival, the room smelled like a broken vacuum motor/smoke. There's also a little dust on to of the wooden furniture and an empty water bottle from a previous guest under one of the dressers. The condition of the room is surprising, considering the cost and supposed quality of the hotel. There's a pool and an outlet mall attached to the hotel which is a plus. Location is also a plus. There's tons of stuff to do within walking distance. Still, probably wouldn't recommend this place to a friend. I'm still here but I'm reluctant to report these issues because I really don't want to get anyone in trouble (I know, I know). If you'll be traveling and won't spend a ton of time in your room, this may work. Also there's a $12/day fee for use of the gym that I don't recall seeing on the website. There's free Wi-Fi but it's really slow so you'll have no choice but to pay for an upgrade if you need it.
It doesn't have desayuni included, I can't open the window. The view is tremendous!
The bathroom seemed small for an upscale hotel but our room was very nice on the 22nd floor with a wonderful view of the city. King size bed was comfortable and the towels were fluffy soft. New Orleans is a hot/humid city and we were able to keep our room cool and even cold at times. The Concierge at the Hilton was very helpful with ideas for restaurants and points of interest. They recommended Muriel's at Jackson Square on or first night and the food was very delicious — it was an excellent way to start our stay in New Orleans.
Very nice hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The only thing that I didn't like was that the rooms are kinda small, and the bathroom is extremely tiny. We also experienced a pest problem which consisted of roaches in the lounge area near Starbucks. To the point where they were crawling all over the place and one ended up crawling on one of my friends. I tried to ignore it but I also found one in my room as well. When we went to management about our concerns they were very accommodating and helpful to make sure we were taking care of. Other than that issue we had a great time at this hotel the food was great but after seeing the Roaches it kinda made me wonder if the cleanliness of the kitchen was up to power : (. We're just praying we didn't take any home.
The Riverside Hilton is a decent hotel. It's pretty big and the rooms are about average. There are nice views as well if you stay in the right rooms. The location is very good as it's close to Bourbon Street and a lot of other things.
My bedroom was a little damp during my visit there.
This Hilton needs a face-lift in the lobby, bar and restaurants. The convention area is nice. The health club is one of the best. But the bartenders are expensive and inconsistent. The restaurant food is bland and overpriced. You're better off eating and drinking nearby.
Service was great, the guy helping me was nice and super speedy. The other customers there were monsters. Give the people behind the counter a break y'all! I'm so very sure that the guy helping you isnt trying to keep your package from you.
Nice place but expect to pay a lot of high fees for basically anything. They know you're staying in a high priced hotel and they want that money too. Not just in the hotel but everywhere in this particular area. All the store and restaurants will charge you more for standard items & food, and they can because everywhere that sell anything at standard value will be farther than most want to walk or take a cab for. Oh right, be sure to check the items you buy especially beer, they leave it on the shelf longer than anyone knows. Also a tip, be polite when explaining anything wrong no matter how upset they get, they will fold before you do.
Beautiful place with an outstanding view. The immediate shops and restaurants in the hotel are overpriced. However you do not have to travel far to find affordable food or entertainment. Recommend a walking tour with Know Nola Tours. The tour guide was born and raised in the area and can trace their lineage back over for generations still within the city's boundaries. The guide, Malik Bartholomew, is a very charismatic, honest, knowledgeable, and genuine individual.
Good location although you won't think so when you first arrive. It looks secluded bit it is actually minutes from the French Quarters and Bourbon Street. Also attached to a nice outlet mall and near great restaurants. Hotel is nice but typical. Nothing extravagant. No complaints though.
The restaurants are excellent!
I am here for the Beta convention. The room was clean and a fridge was provided. The water pressure is incredible in the shower! I'm sad the Starbucks doesn't take Starbucks gift cards but I understand. It is convenient that the hotel connects to the Riverwalk and the aquarium is near by. Parking is an outrageous cost. But I was happy that I got to stay here a second time.
Great accommodations. Riverwalk next door is great. Loved the view of the Mississippi. Hotel is very large though, easy to get lost though. I would stay there again though.
Very nice hotel, the bathrooms a little
careless.
A six day business trip May 4-10 turned into a nightmare when over $1300 worth of jewelry was stolen from our room-The room safes are faulty and apparently do not always close all the way — no doubt housekeeping is aware of this and took advantage. What was more upsetting was the attitude of the hotel management and security! They kept insisting we left our jewelry at home and would find it there when we returned — which of course was not true. The security staff is a joke and does not inform hotel management of guests — when we complain to management they said they were unaware and once again tried to write it off — obviously we were hoping we would "just go home and forget about it" — well we haven't forgot about it Hilton! Your protocol for handling customer relations is terrible — the worst I have ever dealt with! 6 days and thousands of dollars spent at your hotel — never again!
STOLEN PROPERTY AND NO HELP FROM THE HOTEL! My company stayed here for a business trip from May 4th to May 10th (6 nights). On Saturday, May 7th, I returned to my room to meet my husband around 3:30pm. At that time our room had not been cleaned, which was odd as my husband had said the cleaning people had been on our floor (by our room) all morning long. I changed my clothes and put my jewelry in my Kendra Scott box and placed it back in the safe. I called housekeeping and asked them to make sure that they please clean our room. We returned to our room around 8:30pm Saturday night. I took of my jewelry and laid it on the dresser. Got up on Sunday May 8th to get ready to go to my meetings. Approximately around 8:30am I opened the safe to take out my Kendra Scott box and put on my jewelry. The box was missing. We searched the room, no box to be found. We then called security and reported it. Security arrived and took the report while in the mean time telling that when I got home I would find it (says it happens all the time). I assured him it is not at home… I had just been in the night before. Kevyn was the security person's name… he was not apologetic, sympathetic, or anything… just accusatory. I left for my meetings. Came back Sunday afternoon and asked to speak to a manager so I could find out the details, the manager knew nothing about it. I had to explain the entire situation again.
Great place to stay in New Orleans; near to the river front and a brief walk to French Quarter. The restaurant and cocktail lounge were excellent. The amenities were an added plus. I highly recommend.
Very clean I service was perfect.
We stayed here April 29-May 1st for Jazz Fest. The hotel was clean, but the service was just awful. I am a Hilton Honors member and expect more from Hilton hotels. Our flight landed at 6:05 in the morning. We were aware that check in wasnt until 3, but figured we would drop our bags off and see if they could check us in early or let us know when our room was available. So after a quick breakfast we headed to the hotel and drop off our bags at the bell hop and then asked to check in. Of course the room wasnt ready, which was fine. But we were told that they would text us soon when it was available, and it shouldnt be too long. Flash forward to almost 3:30 (clearly after check-in) and we hadnt heard back. So I called to find out the status and got some rude lady on the phone who acted irritated that I had the nerve to check the status. So she put me on hold and came back and claimed "max was supposed to have texted you, the room is ready, but whatever its ready" ok, so I go to check in and am met with the same rude response, first he claimed he couldnt find my reservation, then after searching tried to put me in a two queen room and when I pointed out I paid extra for a king river view, he rolled his eyes and eventually was able to find one. So we checked in. The room was very clean, the view was great. However, everyone who worked there seems to have an attitude.
I thought the room we stayed in on the third floor, offered a great view of the river. The river boats top deck was same level as our room and you could feel the energy from the boats. Ocean liners also cruised by. The sunrises and sunsets, incredible. We got a food Boucher and we had breakfast every morning and enjoyed freshly made beignets. There is also, in the adjacent mall, a cafe du monde, it's not the original, but they taste the same without waitting for hours in line. There is an electric tram that is just outside of the Hilton. The French quarters are maybe a 1/2 mile short walk from the hotel on he river walk. Taxi was about 11 dollars from the hotel split between 4 people. I would definitely stay there again.
Located adjacent to the shopping mall and riverfront. This made a great starting point for our morning. Cafe du Monde and the river walkway are here which makes access to the French Quarter easy. The room was clean and large enough as well as having a comfortable bed. My only complaint was that throughout the night it was easy to hear the slamming of guestroom doors. I hope they can adjust the doors in the future to prevent this.
They did, as usual a great job with hosting all the Mardi Gras krews. There was enough parking, although the garage was near full capacity. The interior of the hotel was clean and full of positive energy. I had a great time.
The location is great. It is far enough from the noise of Burbon St. Yet only a short walk away. The room was clean and the aesthetics are nice. The staff is helpful and friendly. The view from our room unfortunately did not have sight of the river, but of the parking garage. Not a big deal, but if you book a room, you may want to ask for a room that faces it.
We are staying at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside with a large group of students during a very busy time, the hotel seems to be fully booked. Despite these challenges the hotel is very clean, quiet and the staff friendly and helpful. Prices for purchases inside the hotel (restaurant, bar, etc) are stiff, but I guess this is the price to pay to be in this location at this time of year.
Went here for a company Christmas party. The inside is great, the staff is friendly and the food was amazing. The inside appeared to be well kept and clean. My complaint is the parking area. It's dark, and while there are multiple garages for parking, one of the had extremely tiny places to park, and we're in a car. Not to mention many people took up 2 spaces. But either way found a place to park in the end and everything turned out great.
Building is a little older than other Hiltons that I have stayed at. Location is good as it is very close to the convention center and outlet ~8-10 minute walk. Service has been good so far. Drago's restaurant is located right downstairs. Bourbon St is not too far from the hotel ~15 minute walk. Overall, this has been a good stay.
So far so good. Everything is nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. Bring some cash tho because everything is pricey.
If any of you guys are looking for dirt cheap hotel deals I would check out HotelRaven. Com I saved a ton of money using that site. Nice Hotel, unfortunately unable to keep room reserved. Reserved a king and even though 20+ year honors member was given a downgrade rather than an upgrade. Not my first problem with Hilton not giving loyal honors program a better deal. Losing even more of my business. Moved many of my stays to Marriott already. Now even more going elsewhere.
The Hotel itself was wonderful! The staff, that we interacted with both directly and indirectly, were extremely courteous. My ONLY complaint is the quality of the mattress and pillows. The pillows, although they appear to be thick and fluffy, flatten out. I had 3 stacked up to sleep on and was still uncomfortable. The mattress was awful! Not only was it HARD but the springs could be felt when lying down. Again, those are the ONLY things that were not exemplary.
The Hilton New Orleans Riverside is in an excellent location for a trip to the French Quarter, the new Riverside Outlet Mall, Harrah's Casino, or the aquarium. In short, the location is perfect. The rooms are nice and spacious. We did have an issue with our toilet — it would shoot water at us whenever we flushed it (not the most pleasant of experiences). We also had a bad experience with a drunk waitress, but this is New Orleans! All in all, it's a perfect jumping off spot for many of the tourist destinations you'll want to visit. One word to the wise — this is a popular conference hotel. If you want to avoid a packed experience, ask your reservation agent what conferences are in town.
Everything was nice for the most part. The one BIG issue I had was the matress. Absolutely horrendous. I felt like I was sleeping at a motel instead of a great hotel like the Hilton on the river. Very dissapointing. For the amount that it costs to stay here, you would think you could count on a good night's rest. I was wrong and will not be coming back.
Stay far far away from this place. One of the WORST hotel experiences I have ever had. I was in town with co-workers for a convention. The initial hotel we booked (Grand Hyatt), was overbooked, so they sent us to this hotel, covered the stay plus transportation. By the time we arrived at the Hilton, it was very late at night. We didn't get into our room till past midnight. We entered our room and it was hot and smelled like vomit. As we were settling in and I went to take a shower, ROACHES crawled along the bathroom sink. I screamed and went into the room, and we found another roach on the wall. I immediately got dressed and we went downstairs to ask for a new room. The staff was rude and unapologetic. When they handed us the key to the new room, we asked if they were sure there weren't any roaches in this room. The front desk attendant just shrugged. We got up to our floor and were reluctant to enter our room so we waited by the elevators. I called to try to speak to hotel management for the night and she was no where to be found. I then called hotel management at the Hyatt who was extremely helpful. She said she knew who was working that night and would get in touch with them. When I was finally able to speak with the manager, RUBY, she was EXTREMELY rude and non apologetic. I asked if there was any compensation she could provide for the inconvenience (keep in mind, this is now about 1:30-2am). She said any compensation would be through the Hyatt (our original hotel).
Stayed 4 nights in August 2015 as a Hilton Gold Member. Was upgraded to an Executive Room, on a upper floor with great view of the River. Room was great and maid service was awesome. Received 4 buffet breakfast for $40.00 as well as access to Executive Lounge. Would stay here on any visit to New Orleans.
We paid $564 for one night plus a week of parking for our car while we were on a cruise. The parking is very confusing, especially for us country folks from out of town. Nobody explained anything to us so we ended up dragging our luggage from the parking deck all the way to our room. Me being on Dialysis didn't help things at all. Everything in the room was fine until we got ready for bed. My wife walked around to the side of the bed closest to the bathroom and stepped in a puddle of PUKE on the floor! I am on Dialysis and had already hooked up to my machine so we had no option to be moved to another room. I called the desk and they said they would send someone right up. About 30 minutes later and guy showed up and looked at the puddle and said he'd get someone in there to clean it up. SERIOUSLY, it took about another 20 minutes to get someone in there. The guy actually accused US of doing it! I was shocked! No compassion, no apology, no nothing. They didn't offer a discount or anything… Horrible experience. I will never stay there again when we go on a cruise. Gross, Gross, Gross! We stayed the night of August 1, 2015.
I guess the Hilton standards for the rooms in new orleans is about the same as a motel 6 anywhere else. They obviously only put money into the lobby and ballrooms. Everything else was neglected. The rooms were ok although I swear that was the smallest king size bed I ever slept in. The shower had mold and was leaking because of broken sealing. The pool had a huge layer of mold all along the edge. The pool liner was completely bubbled up causing you to almost trip over it. The ashtrays on the smoking deck weren't emptied once in the 4 days we were there. Breakfast options in and around were terrible. French toast was impossible to find unless you wanted it stuffed for $14, not really to the liking of my 5 year old. $40 total for self parking, had weirdos in the lot. Then worst of all my credit card number was stolen and led to $600 of fraudulent charges. I only used that credit card once in the hallway for a $3 bottle of soda. Ugh. All I could say is that it was great location wise for the aquarium and the mall.
The night staff at the front desk was so rude to my wife this week. The desk attendant harassed her because they didn't have our credit card on file in order to bill this week's stay. The attendant claimed she didn't have any of the stuff we sent in prior to arrival at the hotel. Both the day manager and the finance office managers assured me they had our information and that everything was OK for our stay. My wife is so upset because the front desk attendant keeps calling her and asking her to come to the front desk during the middle of the night. We want to move to another hotel and ask for a refund but the other hotels in the area are booked solid for this week.
The hotel itself and the amenities were quite nice, but I did have a problem. While I was here for MechaCon, I accidentally dropped my ID. Luckily for me, an upstanding citizen turned it in to one of the desks, and upon realizing that I didn't have it, I asked my friends to go to the desks to see if the ID had turned in. The hotel staff gave my ID, with no question, to my friend without ID'ing her or calling me to notify me at all after they told me they would call me if they found my ID. While I am pleased to have my ID back in my possession, I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that someone is just able to come up and claim my items without taking precaution first. Other than this, however, I found my stay to be quite enjoyable and will definitely consider this hotel for other visits to New Orleans.
Awful customer service. Was charged 38 dollars per day for parking but was never told about the charge for parking. Wasn't given a receipt until after I arrived home. Called and spoke to the assistant director who argued with me instead of apologizing. Refused to even offer a partial refund. No one offered to help with bags, rude and unaccommodating. Will not be going back. They do not value your business at all.
Called ahead of time to ask if I could valet park my F-250, I was told that was not going to be an issue at all. When I arrived they told me I had to park on the "whale lot" because of the size of my truck. This parking lot is a city block away from my room. On the walk back, I noticed there was an uncovered parking lot, that was much closer and that was valet only plus I watched them valet the same truck as mine before I walked into the hotel. Guess my money isn't green. They put us in a room right next to the elevator closet, (this was supposed to be an upgraded room) the noise was so loud we had to call and ask to change rooms, and got two small queens instead of a king. Shower water pressure was weak, and the shower head was nasty. I wont be staying again.
Upon arrival the front desk were far from friendly and almost rude. We went to the conciege desk to ask for information and the woman who was there at 6 pm on Tuesday May 5th was RUDE beyond words. The room was awful considering the price. Skip this hotel. I have been a Hilton Diamond member for years but was treated as dirt.
One of the best, if not the best, places I've ever stayed. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the view of the river and city; amazing. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Convenient and accessible to everywhere.
Had an awesome time! Stayed there for Jazz Fest! Love how it's connected with the outlet RiverWalk Mall. Drago's Restaurant is inside hotel, really great food! Amazed with the gym, one of the best hotel gyms I've seen! I will definitely go back and stay! Thank you guys! My room was very cleaned. Nice view.
The rooms were nice but the front desk staff were extremely rude and completely messed up our reservations. Even when we checked out I was charged an extra 500.00 on my card and no one could explain why. It took days to get the money back and the manager could not explain why my card was charged again for nothing. I was very disappointed with this hotel and will never stay there again.
I was extremely disappointed at my recent stay. I payed over $900 for three nights of poor service and letdowns. Arrived on Thursday evening at 6pm to find that they had given our room we requested away because "we did not arrive at 3". After coming home from dinner and drinks on Friday evening we had only scalding hot water. They sent someone up who took the entire shower apart and was unable to fix it until late in the morning, leaving us unable to take a shower. We asked the front desk to send up some water so we could at least brush our teeth and wash our faces, and they tried to charge us $20 for two bottles of water! They also tried to make us pay $10/day for each of us to use the gym and we were also supposed to get Wi-Fi with the room and I had to haggle the front desk and go over all of my paperwork so she could have just as easily given me the password over the phone. Overall this is my worst hotel experience I have ever had. I thought the Hilton had a reputation for being elite. I guess times have changed.
Highly qualified staff. Good care and services asus customers work in the area of Housekeeping. Thanks to the Hilton for opening up their doors.
My friends and I stayed at this hotel during Mardi Gras to catch the Muses parade. The staff on the nightshift were absolutely amazing, met our expectations, and made sure that we had a great time during our brief stay! Jonathan who worked the executive suite reception was also fantastic and gave us some great suggestions on where to go in the area. This is a great hotel in a great location and I'd definitely recommend it to others.
I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton on St. Charles while in New Orleans due to the fantastic room and view I had, along with the helpful and friendly staff. There were a few nights where the adjoining room was a bit loud, but nothing unbearable. When I return to New Orleans, I will definitely consider staying at this hotel again.
Great location, very welcoming, and friendly staff. Was here during Mardi Gras for a very good price. The room was excellent. King bed, great TV and an amazing bathroom. If it wasn't for the fact that my room wasn't ready when I arrived, I would have given this experience 5 stars. Good place.
Had to pay $50 more per night for a king sized bed that I had a reservation for. The room was so small, my wife's wheel chair would not work in the room. Terrible housekeeping — waited until after 3:30 and just took clean towels. Would not recommend this hotel-there are others close by that people had a better experience.
Wonderful. Stayed for rock n roll marathon. Amazing breakfast, customer service, charming view of city, valet excellent, front desk very accommodating. Loved it.
I was here for a school conference. I got a discounted rate on the room and a "discounted" rate on parking, which was $20.00 a day. When I checked in, they also held on to $100.00 over the room rate and the taxes. When I called to ask about this, the person who tried to help me sounded as lost as I was and could only tell me that the hotel "holds" $50 bucks per night in case you use the extra things in the hotel. For someone who is on a strict budget, that extra money is factored in to everything, from travel to food. The rooms are small and not special for the price. Everything in the hotel that you COULD buy is incredibly expensive. There is no microwave in the room, which really isn't that big of a deal, unless you were planning on saving money and cooking your own food. Overall, the conference space was great and nice. But I would not stay here on vacation or otherwise. I wish I had stayed elsewhere for this conference.
Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Location is fantastic and cabs always available. For whatever reason the beds are comfortable until you wake up drenched in sweat. It was around 45 degrees outside and my husband and I woke up literally soaked and hot as hell. He is always hot so we had the ac turned all the way down already. I'm the opposite however and am always cold, so this was a first for me. Wi-Fi is 12.95 per day, nearly every where has free Wi-Fi now so that surprised me. No bottled water stocked, expected to pay for it but wasn't an option. No microwave or freezer. For us cleanliness and sleep are most important so I rated 3 stars, very clean but we probably slept around 4 or 5 hours each night due to the heat. Probably won't stay again.
I tried to park here today and there was no indication that the lot was full. I drove in, pressed the button and then drove around the parking structure for about 10 minutes. There were no open spots anywhere. I had no choice but to leave and try to park somewhere else. There were no people at the gate, just a computer and no button to press to talk to anyone. I had only been in the lot for 10 minutes and there were no spots, but it made me pay $20.00 anyway. I can't believe that Hilton cannot afford to have someone at the parking station because there was a booth and a spot for someone to sit, but it was empty. They either need to have a policy where 10 minutes is automatically free or a menial charge of $3 or something, or have someone there to be able to make a decision. This is completely unacceptable. To the managers of the New Orleans Hilton. You got my $20, but i'm sure that at least 5 people will not go to your hotel due to my review, so its actually costing you $ in the long run. And btw, I travel 90% of the time for my job. If possible I wont be staying at your hotels if I can avoid it. Thanks! Happy new year.
I would like to commend Brandon (desk) for resolving our problem when discovering on arrival that our agent had forget to confirm our room on a 98% sold outt night. This combined with extra help from the concierge team on the Executive Floor turned our 3 day stay into a wonderful New Orleans mini vacation. The room was nice but it's the staff that turn a good hotel into a great experience.
The hilton was very fun im actually from new orleans and my sister wanted a hotel party and we had one there its really easy to sneak in because how big but every thing was nice but we didnt get a chance to go to the pool cuz we were tio busy partying.
This place is great! I'm a cruise fanatic, so the view from the place is AMAZING if you like watching the harbour. My first stay (when I tried out for Jeopardy), we had a harbor view. I love that this hotel is connected to the mall with a HUGE observation deck. The second stay (before my first cruise), we had a city view. Great way to see the skyscrapers at night! The only reason this hotel is not five stars is because it is pricey. Cokes are $3.50 a bottle and $2 a can. There are two pools, and I only went to the free one, but I've heard that the other one is for a charge. Parking is convenient but $34 a day. We always stay here when we go to New Orleans.
This is my second time staying in this Hotel. The service was great, staff were very nice. They even upgraded my room to the executive suite the free drink and snacks were great. The rooms were nice and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I will return.
This Hilton is a Historic Building renovated into a lovely hotel, great location close to the central business district, the french quarter, and to top it off there's a John Besh Restaurant on the first floor with $. 50 oysters for Happy Hour. I've stayed here multiple times and its now a go to when looking for accommodations in New Orleans.
What a nice Hilton! Fabulous service. And in walking distance from burban st. And pet friendly.
Good place near fun.
This hotel is nice, but the front desk manager and associate very rude agrumentive with guest. They gave me a occupied room, I opened the door the guest were having sex, went back to the front desk The manager was very rude, they made a mistake, it took a while to get a room, they sold my room I paid in full awaiting for them to clean up. The front desk needs training in customer service, the general manager wasnt concern about the attitude he had one his self, please search around first for quality, I rather stayed in super 8.
Nice hotel but front desk staff is not nice! very good food but poor attitude of restaurant waiter in Luke restaurant. there are plenty of nice hotel with nice staff. i don't think I will come back this hilton again.
Typical Hilton, old but clean. Device dependant WLAN rates are not acceptable.
