Their pool is one of the cleanest I have been to. Staff is amazing and always super friendly!

Room was incredibly muggy. Bed was hard. Tiles broken in bathroom.

Floors are slippery and have a bad smell. If they remop it takes several hours to dry AND still smells bad.

Very mediocre hotel, breakfast is very basic and repetitive. Staff seem to be seriously checked out and uncaring. Okay gym and nice pool.

Stay here a lot. Consistently clean & great attitude from staff.

Clean place with decent breakfast options and a bar within walking distance.

You know the word Trump used to describe third-world countries? It also applies to the Holiday Inn Express in Gonzales, TX. I had to kill several cockroaches in my room before I went to bed. God knows what was there that I didn't see. Also, the toilet didn't flush very well. Pro-tip: If your hotel is going to be infested with roaches, at least have a toilet with a strong flush to get rid of them.

We stayed at two different ones over the course of 2 nights and I am not sure which one this survey is for. The first was in Gonzales Texas. It was clean. Breakfast was good. The second was in Port Lavaca Texas. It has suffered some hurricane damage but they were super accommodating and had a great view of the bay.

The beds were nice a little firm. HIE was next to a steak house called GG. Clean rooms with microwaves and a small refrigerator, a good breakfast with a variety of items. Nice dining area with comfy seating, free breakfast, wi fi.

Where do I even start. If I could give lower than a one star I would. The first night I was there we got our key cards and had to make three trips up and down the elevator, which by the way sounds like it'll give at any moment, for them to finally figure out how to fix the key card. I get to my room and notice it smelled really damp but thought nothing of it as it was late and I needed sleep. Well the next day I noticed the same smell after I got back from work. And then the next day I had enough. After I looked around trying to find the smell I found three rolled up towels on the window sill soaking wet and stained. Who knows how long they were there. And then I started looking by the a. C. Unit and there was moisture and mold on the wall and the baseboard was rotted. I also woke up this morning with a sore throat and a cough. Oh also there are roaches. I had enough and demanded a new room and got my new one and it still smells damp but not as bad. If it weren't for my company paying for my stay ibwould never stay here.

I was solo traveling and checked in late at night. The hotel looked great, but the room just felt so damp and a little dirty. The bed that was the cleanest squeaked so so so much, every time I moved. If I hadn't been so exhausted k would have asked for another room. This may have been a one time fluke, as the lobby and such looked great.

The room smells like mildew and if the room is as nasty with mildew as the curtains are, the health department needs to be alerted. In addition, housekeeping stinks. I left a note with a tip requesting extra towels n tissues, not only did I not get either, they didn’t even provide the usual bath supplies or coffee/tea supplies. Very disappointing.

Very nice, clean & friendly. Could use work on the breakfast offering — if pancake machine doesn't work, don't leave out & displayed. Also, sink water pressure in my room was almost nonexistent; came out as a trickle.

Stay was ok; pillows too soft and room felt humid a/c worked but felt like it was only the fan blowing however breakfast was good.

Excellent hotel. Clean. Reasonably priced. Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of options with free breakfast. Super bar and grill next door. Highly recommended.

If you enjoy sleeping with cockroaches, this is the place for you. We had two rooms. They both had bugs. It’s hard to rest well when you are worried about bugs crawling on you. The door to our room was broken. You had to close it over & over again until it would finally latch (or let it slam and that would sometimes work). When we got back to our room one evening, it wasn’t closed. Our room had been left open by the cleaning crew due to the problem with it not latching. The cleaning crew didn’t remove the trash from one of our rooms all weekend. One of the bed covers had some kind of dried brown stuff on it. Two of the lamps in a room were broken, and one of them wouldn’t even come on. The elevator made terrible noises that sounded like the cables could snap at any moment. The last night we were there, we went to the pool. It was trashed. We had to clean up someone's mess before we could relax and enjoy the area. Around 10:00 pm the desk clerk on duty came out and told us there had been a noise complaint. I know we were making some noise, but nothing really loud or inappropriate. At the hotel right next door, there were kids at the pool literally screaming and yelling so loudly it could be heard inside our hotel, and we explained that to the clerk. He told us the pool would be closing at 11:00 and he would be back then to be sure we were gone. The pool is supposed to be open until 11:30 pm Friday – Sunday.

Nice new hotel with a friendly and courteous staff, clean rooms with good sound proofing between rooms. Only trouble was connecting to the Wi-Fi service.

Overnight guest after concert in Houston. The location was a bit further from I-10 than I expected but still almost exactly halfway between Houston and my home. I'll certainly revisit when I attend events in cities east of my residence.

I saw a roach in my shower and a spider in the bathroom. But the breakfast was good. A/C blew but felt more like fan.

My business requires me to travel a lot. I love to stay at the Holiday Inn Express.

The breakfast was really great and the bed and shower were very comfortable.

Hotel staff was very friendly and informative. Complimentary got breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and even an even a evening social event in the lobby area Monday through Friday with complimentary appetizers and drinks. The room was clean and well kept, but with my room being located close to the stairwell things could get a little noisy time to time. Still a pleasant stay and would stay there again!

Internet didn't work for more than 5 minutes at a time. Room smelled like a wet towel and the AC was poor. Tried two rooms on the ground floor both were the same story. Receptionist said rooms on the other levels don't smell like mold but I checked in across the street after the two rooms try out.
