The suites were nice and roomy. The beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool area with happy hour drinks and snacks. They also had a basketball court. Breakfast was good and had many options including waffles and pancakes.

Staff is very friendly, breakfast is good for a free one. Location is not that far from downtown and is also close to some good restaurants. Our suite was nice that it had a completely separate bedroom. Only issue was the room was in need of an update. The furniture was stained. The lighting in some areas seemed lacking, and the bathroom needs a redo. Nothing terrible but also not what we expected for the price.

Very nice hotel. Hotel nice and smell good. Love the beds, didn't want to get out of it. Breakfast was very good. Next time I go, I will be booking to stay there again.

I booked a King suite and prepaid for my stay well over a week in advance this past weekend. Despite check-in being at 3:00 p. M. I was unable to check in until almost 3 hours later. Yes, 3 hours later and was still told that check-out would be the normal time. The gentleman checking me in indicated that the hotel had been full and the room was not available yet. This is unacceptable and I will not book another room at the Richmond again and will let others know of my experience. When people are traveling they expect to be able to check-in at the time the hotel says they can check in, not 3 hours later. The next day I checked my bank account and the hotel charged my card again for the room and the $25 incidental — this was a prepaid room.

Solid experience. The hotel seems recently updated and the lobby was very impressive. The bar and breakfast areas were adjacent. Very nice decor. The room was great. Clean attractive and just big enough. The bathroom is more evidence of a recent rehab. Bright with lots of space. CON: the walls (ceilings? ) of the rooms do not seem very thick. Noise from other rooms and guests was pronounced. Hallway noise was limited, however. Great location near the highway. Shopping and restaurants a short drive away. The staff was very pleasant and responded very quickly when I has a TV remote control problem and, later, asked for an extra blanket.

Very good location… very nice service, but no staff who speak Spanish.

We just started a 5 day stay here and I must say that first impressions are great. It really upsets me to think of the number of times we've been in Baton Rouge and stayed in nearby places that were more expensive and not as nice. We chose the king suite room because of some reviews and we're thrilled at the size of the suite and the cleanliness. This is an older hotel but is in the very best condition. Lobby and breakfast are impressive. There's a lot of highway noise but absolutely none in our room. If things change during our stay I'll update this post but I don't expect any problems. I can't imagine where any bad reviews come from.

Excellent room suites has a full kitchen. It has a beautiful pool and free gym. It's near from downtown.

Morning breakfast was good. Water pressure was great! Hallways smelled like my grandma's perfume and the rooms are dated but we enjoyed our stay. Beds were comfy.

In my career as a Coach Driver. This is the 2nd BEST. Room Ive been in. They took good care of the NJROTC.

This place is amazing. Ms. TY was the first point of contact of course and she welcomed us with a big juicy, loving and beautiful smile. She smiled the whole time and kept us up at the front desk having an imposing conversation we did not want to leave! I wasn't going to write a review but my wife encouraged me into letting everyone know how awesome Ty is. Ms. Tina was the sweetest lady ever! We had a wonderful conversation with her as well. The food was amazing, God bless Ms. Tina! God bless you all. My stay was extremely over the top. I will be seeing you guys again next year!

I can't even begin to express how disappointed I am. I stayed in the presidential suit a few years ago when it was Best Western Plus and it was perfect. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, service was nice, and the room service ladies were great. My boyfriend and I paid $158 for the Presidential Suit so we could have a night out to ourselves for New Years. First of all, when we checked in the girl at the desk had such an attitude. Second, when we got to our room we were unloading things into the kitchen. A room service lady just opens the door and comes in. Didnt knock or anything like she didn't know anyone was in the room. Not a good start to a night out. On the website it says 2 robes in the closet, no robes. Jacuzzi tub, single person tub. Which also happened to be filthy. I cleaned it with one of the white wash clothes. When I was done the towel was brown from the filth. There was no stopper for the drain and when I asked room service about she said "oh just use wash rag to stop it". The entire hotel was filthy. They used so much air freshner in the halls to cover the smell that it literally made us sick. And to end a horrible stay, check out is at noon and we were rushed out at 11am. I used to recomment Best Western Plus to anyone and everyone. I wouldnt recommend Richmond Inn and Suits to ANYONE! Highly disappointed after looking forward to a great night for New Years.

I have had a lot of trouble getting the information of who is staying here for my wedding. I visited in June to look at the property. I thought the block was good but then I had to go back in August to confirm when I thought it already was confirmed. Now, the week before my wedding, I have had to spend days on the phone and via email to try and figure out who is staying here. They switched systems on Tuesday and entered my information by hand from the previous system, for a block that has been in place since August. This has been the worst experience I've had with a hotel staff. No one I talked to in June is still working here and the staff now does not communicate with each other or do what they say they will. I finally had to drive up to the hotel today to try and get a list of guests but it's still wrong. So now I get to try and communicate with my 150+ guests to figure out who is staying here. If you are a bride, do not make a hotel block here. This has been an additional stress which I was not expecting for my wedding.

Stayed in 2 rooms during my stay. The heater in the first room filled the room with smoke and we had to be moved to another room where the heater didn't work. Haha. The room had a decent set up though; clean, large bed, working shower, toilet/shower/kitchenette.

Deserves 0 stars. My husband reserved the Presidential Suite for this Saturday, October 7-9, 2017. I became concerned with the reviews that I read due to he lives in Baton Rouge and I currently reside in Florida until I relocate. Due to he made the reservations, I told him to call regarding the "We do not book locals" comments by the GM that I read. My husband called the afternoon of October 3rd and a person named Ty answered. She was very rude and didn't allow him to finish asking his questions which still didn't get answered. I advised my husband to cancel the reservation right away. I'm a Call Center Supervisor that deals with Real Estate Agents for a government entity and that type of service would never be tolerated.

I would give this less than 1 star if I could. The hotel is listed as smoke free but I don't think it was. The hall ways and rooms stink of room deodorizer so thick your nose burns and your throat closes up. I have asthma issues so it really is a problem for me. It was so strong my husband even had issues. Room was dusty. There was a screw valve missing from the shower head so water went spewing from the top everywhere on the ceiling. Wait! I saved the worst for last. At midnight, turned on the kitchen lights to see a convention of biggest roaches ever. Floors, wall, ceiling! So gross I wanted to sleep in the car! Never again!

I have 3 kids and a cat. This is the best hotel that I ever experienced. Their service is magnificent. Their breakfast and hors d'oeuvres were delicious. We stayed last year. We stayed in a suite. We will be back. Thank you everyone. You would probably know me from my girls Bug & Honey. Keep up the GREAT WORK.

It was an okay stay. Front desk clerk was super nice. We had an issue with our television which they fixed quickly. Room smelled funny. Breakfast was hot and delicious. Location was good.

We had the President-Suite. Breakfast is very good for American conditions. Pool is good. Cleanliness… Carpeting… Well. Silicone joints in the bathroom not i. O. Hence star withdrawal.

Don't get me wrong this is great hotel. But my stay was anything but great. There were small black ants on the air conditioning unit, on the bedside table, on the regular table and on the TV area where you store your clothes. I had to go out and buy a lot of zip lock bags in order to keep any snacks safe I had in my room. I had to make sure I picked up all the trash and any leftover food before I left out of my room. I practically cleaned the room every day before I left it. I called the front desk and they told me the ants come into the hotel when it rains a lot. I was very uncomfortable sleeping at night thinking the ants would get in my bed with me. They said there was nothing they could do about it because the ants came in when it rained a lot. There wasn't that many but just enough to be annoying. The third night after dealing with the ants, I decided to go to the bar and get a drink. When I walked out of my room I encountered the biggest COCK ROACH I had ever seen in my life outside my door trying to get in. I tried to get a picture and a video of the creature and it actually ran under the door into my friend's room across the hall from my room. We had to fight to kill the roach before it got loose in her room and we couldn't find it. We managed to kill it. After taking the video of the roach running under my friend's door, I went the front desk to show the clerk. He directed me to night manager who just happened to be tending the bar at the time.

Room was spacious, clean, and accommodating. Pool and hot tub were nice additions and the bathroom was sparkling clean. Highly recommend.

Clean and pet friendly! Beautiful grounds to walk. Friendly staff and nice pool/fire pit area. Breakfast was ok but overall highly recommend! Especially traveling with pets!

Decent hotel. It appears a little older, but not bad. Staff very friendly and helpful. Building "B" smelled somewhat like a dog, but that's what happens when you stay in hotels that allow pets. It was by no means, nasty, just I could tell they allowed animals.

Very friendly hotel manager and staff at first when we entered our room the TV didn't work but they imediatly called management and kindly got it working in no longer than a few minutes without any trouble. There we're large rooms lots of space in the morning breakfast was excellent there were already set tables making it super easy to get your food and get settled to eat also breakfast was huge and for once actually had Bacon!

For the location these hotel has alot to offer. Very quiet and clean rooms.

I'm so in love with this hotel: from the breakfast to the great beds that send me to a heavenly nights sleep. Only issue I ever have is with the front desk clerk (name starts with an A ends with s) … although she's somewhat professional, I've never seen her smile and I almost get a vibe as if she hates her job so try not to ask her to do too much. Every other attendant is pleasant and all smiles. The hotel overall is reasonably priced and centrally located to shops, restaurants, and actually the whole city. I can guarantee you'll stay here over and over again… I HAVE NOW FOR A YEAR!

2nd time we have stayed here and will be back many more for LSU events. Huge nice rooms, best breakfast bar for a hotel…

The experience at this hotel was phenomenal, and the customer service was great. I appreciated the quietness by far my favorite hotel so far.

Clean rooms and non smoking which is a huge plus. The breakfast was excellent too. Definitely will stay there again the next time I'm in town.

Awesome hotel… Great hot breakfast every morning. Waffles, biscuits, eggs, grits, sausage, bacon, hash browns, etc… They even have free appetizers in evening time… Awesome beds… Nice bathrooms. Easy access to interstate, in the middle of everything, a lot of restaurants, shopping, & things within 5 minutes of hotel… Only downfall no elevators in section A where we stayed… But its only 2 floors.

Very nice hotel, reasonably priced. Staff was very nice and accomodating. I had booked a "two queen beds and a sleeper sofa" room, and it turned out to be a two-room suite, with the sleeper sofa in the second room, each room with a bathroom. Lots of space. Breakfast was good, and though we didn't order, the room service menu looked delicious. We booked the room because we had expected to be enjoying the night at The Cove right around the corner, and did not want to drive under the influence. If you want to enjoy a diverse selection of drinks in a classy-but-comfortable space, look them up, and book a room here for a short walk on sidewalks. Worked perfectly for us. My worst complaint would be housekeeping knocking on your door before checkout time. This seems to be the norm everywhere, though, and if that's the only issue, I can live with it. This hotel exceeded my expectations, and did it at a good price. Five stars.

Great suite, clean, comfortable beds, Fast Wi-Fi, spacious room, clean well maintained grounds, nice televisions, great breakfast and bar in the lobby, excellent location. No significant complaints, although I did not interact much with the staff which other people seemed to have complaints about.
