The rooms were nice. The AC unit in our room did not work well. The pictures online were very deceiving. Restaurant was amazing and the servers were phenomenal. There needs to be signs posted for the hours of the restaurant and bar. Also if you are going to advertise things like lunch and room service then offer them.

Love the Hotel. Updated rooms. Clean Property. Need to have the Bar and Restaurant open more hours with large Groups. Need emergency Elevator Service for Large Groups. 3 Elevators — 1 went down 1 day into the Event — 2nd Elevator went done 2nd day — the 2nd did start running again — but we missed that 3rd Elevator.

Oh my the service is so good. And house keeping are very good.

Beautifully updated no carpet in the rooms, awesome shower spacious gorgeous lobby… Lights and power outlets everywhere in the room. They finally got smart.

Horrible customer service. I checked into the hotel at 2pm and didn’t get a room until after 4pm. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because of the LSU game that night. Well when I finally got a room I got upstairs only to find the cleaning service had just started. Sat around for a few minutes waiting only for another group to show up claiming my room as their own. Finally got the rooms situated only to wake up and find my vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot. When I asked the employees at the front desk If they had my vehicle towed they told me no. When I responded that I was calling the police department to report it stolen, they just gave me a blank stare and went on about their business!

Terrible customer service… room booked for over a month with an early check in at 11am, get to the hotel at 12:15 and we’re told there are no rooms available and come back at 4pm.

Great room, great view, bed very comfortable, TV did not work but I would definitly come back.

Very poor service and management. Rude desk workers. 20 floors with no guest laundry. Refused to help. Customer service with Marriott rewards tried to help but the hotel refused. Done with Marriott completely. If you want sleep don’t expect it here. Paper thin walls. People partying all night in halls. Security does nothing. Room wouldn’t cool off. Very hot. Worst hotel experience ever. Do yourself a favor and do not come here.

This is a beautiful hotel. The showers in the bathrooms are huge and beautiful. The bar and restaurant are great.

The room was very nice and refreshing! We had room service for the night. The food was delish but we didn’t receive our bottle of wine that was ordered. We called to let them know but we were told they were closed for the night. Other than that the stay was great!

Absolute most deplorable service I have EVER experienced in a hotel. We checked out of Hotel Indigo because of no AC… power went out. After my wife had paid for the new room at the Marriott, they would not let me go up to my room without a room key… guy blocked me from getting on the elevator… never in my life… crazy. … Will never stay at Marriott again anywhere!

This is what a Marriott property is all about: excellent, caring staff, well-appointed and comfy rooms, fluffy towels and robes, a concierge lounge with delicious snacks and food and the entire hotel is clean. This Marriott has recently been updated and it was done with an eye for detail and to imptess the guests. Will be back here again!

Good location. Good price. Good rooms. All around best place in Baton Rouge. View from Concierge is great (see picture). Service is excellent. Hotel Restaurant is good named Stinky something or other but it has good Louisianan food.

Great view if staying on the higher levels. Shower design was perfect and refreshing to be able to sit as needed while taking a long shower with hot water. Also liked the wood floor in the room but a small rug by the bed would have been a nice touch.

Very nice and clean food is top notch and waitress at the breakfast was the most nicest we have ever met overall great experince we will definetly stay at marriot from now on.

What a beautiful hotel. The shower was amazing; the room was beautiful, and clean; the facilities were well maintained. I was there for a conference and appreciated the size and quality of the conference rooms. The one negative was the lack of a microwave in the hotel room. There was a mini refrigerator, and I brought soup, however because there was no way to heat the soup, I could not enjoy it. It was nice to have a full size ironing board and iron, plus a hair dryer. But, I consider a microwave oven to be essential for a hotel room. I am recommending this hotel for our conference next year, it is far superior to the previous years' accommodations.

The room itself was very nice. I loved the laminate flooring — it was sleek and clean feeling. The restaurant and bar inside the hotel was also good. Good food, good wine. The happy hour specails are worth the time. That being said, the housekeeping staff did not restock my room, and didn't speak English. I couldn't even ask for what I needed that they had failed to resupply the room (towels, coffee, hygiene supplies). Fortunately the front desk staff was kind and accommodating. The pool was nice to have. It really catches the sunlight which makes for a warm swimming experience. The water was a little cloudy and there were tons of bugs, but it's Louisiana, so some of that's to be expected. Again I had to make a trip to the front desk to get pool towels because they weren't stocked with those either. Overall: the staff is very kind, the bar is great, and the ambiance of the rooms is delightful. Hopefully they can get the housekeeping issues addressed before I make a return trip.

The hotel has been recently relocated and looks very nice. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Cleaan lobby and friendly staff. Room was hot even after I turn down the a/c. The pillow covers are kind of polyester and get hot making it hard to sleep (Baton Rouge gets pretty hot). They need some love seats or sofas to seat. Only one chair for a 2 bed room. The weight room only has weights and trail mills. They should include some basic cable machines.

We loved our stay at the Marriott in Baton Rouge. Derrick at the front desk was wonderful. We needed a small accommodation which he easily took care off. The hotel was recently renovated. Everything is modern and clean. Rooms have solid surface flooring which we prefer particularly in a hotel room. View is also great if you are on an upper floor.

I been to a lot of Marriotts I have to say this one is the cleanest one I ever been to.
The staff is very polite, friendly and always greeted you with a smile and a Hello. It was done from their hearts not because they had too. If traveling to Baton Rouge I would highly recommend given them a opportunity to serve you.

Loved our stay here. Nice, spacious, well designed rooms. It's located near a lot of cool places and right next to the interstate for anything else. Will definitely be steering here again in the future.

Decent but not exceptional hotel. The room was fairly large and comfortable and the heat & a/c unit was quiet. Unfortunately the walls are thin with no soundproofing or deadening — I could hear the guy next door snoring, showers and doors closing several rooms down the hall. Just not a quiet experience — bring your ear plugs. The nearby Courtyard is older but more comfortable and quiet despite this Marriott just having completed a renovation. Housekeeping is spotty — the wand in the shower was left on & pointing outward so I got a blast of cold water when starting the shower. Soap was not replenished. Trash was not removed. Towels were replaced though (except for the one in the tub recess which was soaked by the wand spraying). Room service is also erratic — they didn't pick the order up despite being hung on the door well before the midnight cut off and the eggs were undercooked to the point of being inedible when finally delivered after being called since room service didn't pick up the order as they should have. Overall not really up to the Marriott standard.

Visited the hotel for a conference. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and courteous. Service was excellent. Rooms are renovated and very nice, though wood floors make it a bit noisy.

Rooms were updated, clean and modern. Bed was quite comfortable. Staff will leave you feeling very welcomed.

Very clean. The update is beautiful. Nice staff. No assistance with bags though. There aren't any associates at the door. There were no luggage carts available. This is definitely not a luxury property. But, fine for an overnight stay. This is not near downtown. It's in an area that seems a bit warn out.

My wife and I attended my company's Christmas party. Everything was beautiful! Everyone was courteous and well mannered. Had a ball!

The room was very comfortable, though it would be nice if the lights were a little brighter. I think they were going for a dimmer, more opulent (or mood-setting) tone, but it isn't easy on the eyes. That's the only complaint I have other than I wish I got a robe like my buddy who is a slightly higher level member. The bar wasn't bad, but I'm not picky about drinks. They had plenty of options. I didn't eat there, but it smelled good. The service was great as always, as the staff is very courteous and respectful. All in all, it was a good experience.

Really nice, clean rooms. The beds are comfortable. The pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance — it looked like it had been that way for a while. There was a very nice continental breakfast. We stayed on the 18th floor and they have a private lounge area for some of the customers on the upper floors, which was really nice. The only downside to that was that it is closed on Saturdays, so we didn't have much of a chance to utilize it. The hotel is also within walking distance of Sullivan's Steakhouse, which is where my husband and I had dinner one night. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

It was under renovations when I went, but they did a good job of minimizing the impact on my visit. My room was clean. I felt the hotel was safe and well lit. Food for breakfast was decent, but the overall choice was a littler limited. I would stay here again.

Was there for a professional event. The rooms were just large enough for our group of 300 adults. The food was delicious and fresh. Servers were polite too.

Went to a fabulous wedding here this weekend. The place was fantastic, drinks were delicious, and the food was out of this world! I'm telling everyone.

I came to the hotel on business. My first impression was the lobby was very nice staff was nice my room was beautiful. I had a room on the 13th floor and had a great view of the Mississippi River Bridge and I State Capitol. Overall I had a positive experience at the hotel the only thing was the pool was being repaired / renovated and I was looking forward to a swim. And what I did not like was that they charged $40 a day for incidentals. I don't feel that you should charge my credit card anything unless I have used it so now I have to wake up to a week to get that money back.

Very nice. A sweet young man stopped what he was doing to help me find some information during Women's Week pre-luncheon activities. The lady from the luncheon was also extremely helpful. I wish I had their names.

Hotel staff was very friendly when I arrived and asked for assistance locating my meeting room. The room was large but still had good acoustics for non amplified discussion. Fairly soundproof but we did have some noise from staff and some sort of machine in a back room.

I spent three nights at this hotel. As others have said, renovations are ongoing. I was in one of the renovated rooms (I assume). Tastefully done. My only criticism is that the room felt a little dark. I had to turn on all of the lamps to feel like it was bright. The restaurant had really tasty breakfast. The staff were all friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the servers and host/hostesses at the restaurant. I stayed rather high up at the property facing away from downtown and there was some road noise from the interstate. Not the hotels fault… just FYI for light sleepers. I suspect other hotels in the area would have the same issues.

Stinky fish camp is amazing the best gulf coast fish selection of any restaurant in town a must stop.

They are in the remodeling process. The rooms we are in have been redone and are very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Staff has gone above and beyond to make us feel welcomed.

Recently renovated and told to use it was complete. It was clear it was not. Everything was thrown together and looked like they were not ready. The food was the worst part. Bread was inedible, salad nope, pork was no good. Not sure of the dessert but it was bitter and soggy. Had to stop on way home to eat after banquet.

Staff is very friendly. Meeting room was setup nicely. Did not stay in the actual hotel.

Beautiful rooms and great breakfast. The only thing is that they're going through construction, which means there are lots of boarded off areas of the hotel. And, the older (ugly) decorative finishes around the front desk and lobby are still there until they finish renovating. But, the guest rooms and hallways have been updated and are BEAUTIFUL!

It wasn't bad. Construction was a bit of a pain, and we weren't aware that it was under construction. Room was super nice and view was great.

Was a good location. Service was great and friendly. The room was beautiful. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was the bed d was very hard.

I stayed here this past weekend for a birthday and anniversary celebration. It's the same hotel we stayed at last year so we wanted to make it somewhat of a tradition and purchased the romance package. The hotel is in a great location and the newly renovated rooms are very nice. Our champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries made it to the room at the exact time that was requested. Unfortunately, there were a few things that made our visit a little less than stellar, this year. First, I'm not sure if it was because the A/C unit was so small, but the room was never cool the entire time we were there. Even when we would stay gone for hours, leave the curtains closed, all lights off, and the A/C set to 60°. Second, there was something on the corner of our blanket and one of the pillows that looked like a small, old, blood stain. Another thing that bothered me was that house keeping threw away an entire pizza that we had just purchased, when we left, so they could have time to clean. On the other hand, they left behind some old, cold, muffins that we had ordered from the kitchen for breakfast that morning. When I told someone at the front desk what had happened, they said Maybe they could cover our breakfast the next morning or Maybe they could put more points on my card, but they couldn't reimburse me for the pizza. I never received either of those things.

The hotel is getting a make over so it is nice and clean. The room cools quickly. (I stayed in room 1610. ) The bathroom is large. The view out the window is beautiful in the evening. They charge for EVERYTHING except the gym. They have breakfast to purchase. The Wi-Fi in the room is an extra charge. The gym is huge!

I attended a professional event in the Confrence area. I had limited interaction with the staff, but the facility was well kept, and the equipment seemed average or better. The site is easy to access, with ample parking. The main parking strip is an awkward one-way, that doesn't lend to easy to read traffic flow, but that's a minor inconvenience.

Awesome service! Friendly, helpful staff. Nice facilities… will be exceptional when renovations are complete! Room service server was delightful and the food was excellent! The sales staff was fabulous; they treated me like a rock star as the facilitator for a seminar we held in one of the meeting rooms.

I enjoyed my stay though there was a mix up with the room selection being whether or not a room was available or not. The contsruction was occuring during our stay but it never disturbed our convenience. Overall I was satisfied but it could use a hot tub. The amenities were on point like soap and other room needs but there was also no refrigerator which may promote a problem for extended stays.

Louisianime 2016 was hosted here & the hotel was great! Everyone was really nice & helpful. My group didn't get a room because we're local, but everything else was wonderful.

Had a standard room on the 15th floor. The rooms were fairly mediocre for this brand. This is probably why they're in the middle of massive renovations. I didn't try the bar or restaurant. The concierge lounge was pretty decent if you're an elite member or book a room above the 15th floor. My biggest gripe is that in a day and age where almost every hotel offers Wi-Fi they expect $12.95 at minimum for the pleasure to rip you off. Again luckily my membership status got this for free. To wrap it up stay here if you must, but almost every other Marriott property in Baton Rouge is much better. At least until they finish their remodel perhaps.

The main lobby looked nice, but the rooms are very loud. The noise from the roads are clearly heard. The bathroom is cramped too. The breakfast buffet is fairly priced. Location is close to the highway for access to many restaurants nearby. Service was acceptable, nothing special.

Overall exceptionally well: polite staff, decent food. Minor problems, but they were addressed.

Window in room faces the interstate. Can very easily hear cars all night long. To make matters worse, the blinds are intentionally designed such that only the translucent ones may be closed fully. Thus, one cannot make the room dark. There's no free Wi-Fi, and they give you 4 miniature pillows instead of two normal sized pillows.

The location was good; near lsu campus. The hotel was clean and staff was super friendly. I have stayed here a few times before. The free coffee bar is great in the mornings. The only drawback was the hole in the ceiling that was leaking water on me while I was on the toilet. The hotel could use some renovations.

Staying at this hotel puts your health at risk. I stayed in the BAton Rouge Marriott one evening in July. I checked in late in the evening and was up and out the door around 5 AM the next morning for the business day. Shortly after leaving the hotel I began itching all over my body. With a quick inspection in the men's room at my client's office, I discovered I was covered with insect bite. The itching was growing worse by the minute — literally my whole body was a maddening itch. That evening I went to an emergency clinic and was told by the physician that the bites were from fleas. Additionally, the doctor said she hadn't seen so many bites on a person… and then expressed concerns about a large area on my arm the was already infected. The prescriptions were just beginning. Over the next several weeks I had three more doctor visits. Antibiotics, prednisone, topical ointments, sleeping pills and Benadryl became the regimen. As an FYI — try 20 Benadryl a day to try to control the itching — without success. The bites remained a problem — constantly fighting infection — non stop extreme itching — and an inability to go to sleep despite two different types of sleeping pills — for five… yes… 5 weeks. Cold showers followed by covering the body with ointment and a diet of medication was the routine.

The staff in this hotel are the nicest, kindest and friendliest people you will ever meet in a Marriott. They should be the poster staff for the whole corporation on making guests feel welcome. We love this staff as they always make us feel like we are at home! Can't wait to see all the renovations!

Really nice. Stayed twice in one week. Very nice staff. Enjoyed it.

One of worst Marriott in the State. In the room, noise was high from I-10 freeway due to single glass window, but also through walls and door. Fan cannot be stopped at all of air conditioning unit either cold or hot. Linens all smelled bad so as floors and halls, suspecting mold. Breakfast supposed to start 6am, but not opened until 6:10 and serving buffet items never finished until 6:20 and some cereal item looked stayed there uncovered at least overnight or more. Room rate was low as Marriott that tells low level of all, but we can choose much nicer hotels with similar rate in the same area. Mat not to argue, but Wi-Fi charge needs to be added. Will never stay there again unless management changes and renovates that seems remote. June 2015.

Every staff member I have met has been friendly, had a smile on their face and if appropriate asked if I needed something. While this might not be the newest Marriott this might be the friendliest. Especially the front desk staff like Kayla who make you feel very welcome when you come in. Something that's very nice after long day. IMO you get what you pay for. The location is well suited for getting in and out of the city quickly in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Very nice desk staff. They checked my fiancée's ID, saw it was her birthday and offered her a free snack from the gift shop. Room was clean, beds were comfy-just a great room. The restaurant on site (The Acadian) it's good too, but over priced. Probably worth it for the convenience. Burger was really good. Would certainly stay here again.

I really enjoyed this Marriott, the young lady at the desk (Kayla) was wonderful and extremely helpful, we were on a long father's day road trip and had driven from Tampa to Baton Rouge without stoping. It had really taken it's toll, and she seemed to cater to our every need. The only thing that annoyed me was the bartender. I went down to order some dinner to try and save some time and he wouldn't even acknowledge that I was standing right in front of him. There was a Beauty Pagent going on and there were beautiful girls everywhere, so I guess I can understand. I went back to the room and called room service, and they were very prompt and also helpful; all in all I'd give this Hotel a 4 1/2 stars mainly on the merit of the young lady at the desk. Also the room was terriffic.

Very tired. 2nd rate service. Air con does not work in room or gym. Noisy. Gym equipment not maintained.

After the last several years and averaging 100+ days a year here I can attest to the excellent service. The rooms are slowly being modernized. The staff are friendly, to the point of remembering names and personal interests. One of the best marriots anywhere.

Nice room, good location, friendly staff. Restaurant/room service was good but pricey. Would consider the hotel to be on the expensive side and would not stay there if I didn't receive a gov't rate and tax exemption.
