THE most disgusting room I’ve ever set foot in. The chair had a hole in the side and it looked like every possible bodily fluid from every possible creature had been deposited on it.
I took a picture of the chair and asked the gal at the front desk if she would want to sit on the chair. To be fair, she did move us to another room but it still smelled.
I can’t even wrap my head around someone taking that chair for free were it on a curb let alone leave it in a room that people PAY to stay in. Clean your act up Comfort Inn. That is gross!

I ride motorcycles so my qualities that make up a good hotel are not as picky as others, a hot shower and a comfortable bed. When I’m traveling for work I usually need a place to park the big truck and trailer, often times it’s tough to find nice hotels with this option. This hotel is a true gem, the owner actually takes pride in his hotel as does the staff. Everyone was super friendly, the breakfast was great for Covid era breakfast, the hotel has a adjoining road where I could safely park my truck, and the hotel amenities were spot on. So if you are traveling bypass Topeka and head to the Comfort Inn & Suites University in Lawrence.

Pool area has tons of mildew and soggy ceiling!

I have always enjoyed using the Comfort Inn for our monthly meetings. The staff is always helpful when needed and never minds of we go over our reserved time frame.

Love this little pet friendly place. Staff were friendly and our rooms were clean and breakfast was really good.

Very satisfied. Gave a four star due to the fact that my husband got his finger crushed in the door of stairway. They close too quickly due to lack of spring maintenance.

Was a great stay the person at the desk was very nice and gave us a discount on the room. Stayed in a 1 bed room was very nice and clean the bathroom was very clean there was two tv's the channels were limited, but were good size and quality. The free breakfast was nice and had a variety a good stay.

Clean room, fairly quiet (ask for the quiet side), friendly and nice staff. Overall a good stay.

Overall it was ok. We always stay in Comfort inn or Suites because its a great motel for the price. This one was being remodeled which is good to see. The location wasn't great as we had to drive to restaurants. Would have been nice to have a few closer because we spent time in motel room relaxing. Upon arrival the staff was super and room looked nice and clean. Normally my wife really inspects the sheets before going to bed but didn't this time. The next morning while making the bed she noticed a spot of blood on the top sheet and it wasn't like faded. I assure you it was not ours. So when we left my wife nicely asked the staff to change the bedding. What gets us is that the staff asked her if she only wanted the top sheet changed. REALLY? She politely said no, all of it. We left and came back at 2, still not changed. I asked the cleaning gal on our floor to change them. She came and changed sheets only not pillowcases. Just odd we thought. Breakfast nothing fancy same other motels. Really good coffee though wife said.

Good breakfast, they have amazing blueberry waffle batter. I don't know if there is a swimming pool. BTW room keys are NOT nfc enabled. The breakfast there is a standard hotel breakfast. They do have Irish cream and French coffee creamers. The Irish cream is really good.

Clean and quiet! Can’t say enough good things! Would definitely recommend and stay again! They bring comfort to a whole new level!

I am a 75 year old grandmother who lost my husband of 51 years in Jan. I also am taking chemo treatments for cancer. My son invited me to go with him to New Mexico for my Grand daughters 5th B-Day hoping to lift my spirits. All was fine until we made the mistake of stopping at the Comfort Inn In Lawrence Kansas. We checked out around 10 am and went on our way. Later when my son tried to use his card for gas, it was denied. He found the motel had pulled almost $500 from his account. When he called to ask about it they were very rude and called him TV man. He asked what they were talking about and they accused us of stealing a very large TV that was attached to the wall. If you were going to steal a TV would you have left all your info at registration, and then call back to check the charges? And where were the security cameras? Needless to say our vacation was ruined as my son was out of money and I live on SS. Getting back home was a financial stress. I highly recommend not staying at the Comfort Inn at Lawrence. Kansas as you may be the next victim of whatever scam they are pulling.

Large airy room with a decent sized bathroom. Plenty of hot water in the nice shower. Exceptionally clean and a real treat to rest here.

Not a fan of this hotel. Clerk obviously did not want to be there. Seemed annoyed that he had to check us in. Also, hotel is in a strange place with no other hotels and no restaurants within a reasonable distance. Room was huge but that's about it. Parking lot not cleared of snow either.

The overall experience I was very happy with. The price meets the quality off the room. The staff was very friendly and professional. The rooms were very clean and up to date. The bed was very comfortable. Very satisfied with our stay.

Our visit was fine. Nothing special. Did appreciate that the bathroom was spacious. Good breakfast. Always appreciate when there are several warm options (biscuits, gravy, sausage, eggs, oatmeal, etc. ) Only complaints are that the location next to the highway makes for a dismal view, and the only elevator is quite slow.

We had a meeting in the conference room and the service was great. They set up the room for us ahead of time and put everything away after. The front desk person was polite and the hotel was clean.

Stopped last minute while traveling to Colorado. Room was very clean and large. Comfortble and quiet. Front desk clerk was very nice and directrd us to restaurants. Breakfast was hot and attendant kept it well stocked. Would stay again.

This hotel is very nice. The rooms are large with ample space and very clean. The pool was a nice break for my kids to release a little energy. The breakfast was great, with lots of choices and very fresh. The staff was very welcoming and accommodated our requests. I will definitely stay again when I am visiting Lawrence.

Overall the experience wasn't bad. However, this facility is showing its age. It needs to have some touch-up painting and the light in our bathroom had a grill missing which showed the bulb and the accumulated dust of many years.

I always stay here when I visit Lawrence. Front desk staff is awesome and the rooms are nice. The free breakfast is good.

Was spendy but we stayed at cheap hotels that sucked and this place was nice! Clean large room, breakfast was good, sausage, good yogurt, etc. Worth the $103 for two queen beds with large bathroom, plenty of room for the four of us. We'll be back!

This was a very comfortable stay. It was less expensive than the other well known hotels near it, but was clean, had great beds, and the staff were accommodating. Recommended!

Way over priced older hotel in need of some repairs. Spent one night here and will probably be the last. This hotel is in need of some updates/remodeling repairs. There were patches all over the walls and hallways, rooms had marks and stains on the walls and needed paint. We had the two bed suite that had the pull out sleeper sofa and the mattress was as flat as a pancake and was falling apart to where the stuffing and springs were exposed. Couch cushions were stained same with one of the comforters. Lighting​ in our room was very dark and did not feel cozy at all. Pool lighting was horrible as well along with cloudy water. Breakfast in the morning was a nightmare definitely not enough tables and chairs to accommodate everyone and food was okay not much to choose from. Pet fee was only $10 which was nice but we paid close to $200 for one night which is way over priced for an outdated hotel in need of repairs.

Staff was friendly but the room was definitely not worth what we paid. It was very rundown. In need of serious paint. Breakfast area cannot accommodate for the amount of rooms. It was clean enough to stay the night but again for $200 I expect much better quality. I have stayed in much nicer rooms for a lot less.

Stayed for one night. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Indoor heated pool was nice. The hotel felt very clean and well managed. Great free breakfast with plenty of choices. Very close to Massachusetts Ave which offers lots of shopping and dining choices.

The meeting room was well kept and worked for our purpose.

Clean room and aside from one issue it was ok. They glhad free Wi-Fi but I got no signal at all on 3rd floor so internet use isn't possible from some area of the hotel. We stayed only one night while we were going home from Albuquerque.

Spacious room with an equally big shower. The bed was comfy and we enjoyed the breakfast as well.

Visiting daughter at KU. Room was great. Staff was excellent! This is one of our favorite places to stay in Lawrence! Book early for busy KU weekends.

Solid hotel except my room ceiling was leaking in room 316 during a storm. I had to put a ice bucket under the dripping water.

An excellent price for an exceptionally nice hotel; simple fare for breakfast, thorough waitstaff and a nice atmosphere. Would stay here again.

Our room was in front above the entrance — very noisy big trucks would pull up and back out beeping all hours of the night and the pool (which is why I stayed there, stunk with swamp & mold. Water, I used 2 bottles of shampoo to wash the smell — I complained on second day and they poured shock in it. Beds were a+ and breakfast top notch — staff awesome.

Very nice hotel, we enjoyed staying there one time. We signed up for rewards and student discount etc. Very nice staff and clean nice room where our little dog was welcome. 4 times since then they have been full every time, now I tried to book 3 months in advance and they are full again and they put a 3 night minimum on their stays. I guess it's nice to be so busy that you can rip people off.

Walking through the halls there was a strong pet urine odor. Also once I got to my room there was a huge hole in the bathroom door. I took a picture of it and showed it to the front desk attendant before we went out for the night. She wrote down our room # and said thanks for letting them know about it. We got back to our room around 2:30 a. M. To find out that our room keys had been changed without telling us. Frustrated, we go to the front desk to find out why our keys had been changed. It took 10 minutes to find the front desk attendant. Our keys were fixed but we wasn't given any reason why they were messed up in the first place. The final issue was with house keeping. We began to get knocks on the door around 8:30 a. M. After a few minutes of unanswered knocks they left. About 20 minutes later there were more knocks. After a few more minutes of unanswered knocks they decided to try to open the door with a key. Luckily we had the manual lock on the door so they didn't just walk in. They attempted one more time before we checked out at 10:30 a. M. I feel like the hotel should be more organized. If a person isn't checked out of a room please don't send room service at 8:30 a. M. On New Years Day when check out time is 11 a. M. I expected much more for the increased rates for New years eve & New years. i will never stay here again!

Checked in with 6 people; were given mattress pads when we asked for extra blankets. A little under the average I expect from Comfort.

This place was WAY below my expectations. I understand raising your rates for graduation weekend but at least meet minimum expectations. Our bathroom door had been punched the night before and had a hole in it. I could get past that but the sage didn't work in the room (I was told they would replace the batteries when we left the room. If they did it didn't work when we came back), the ice machine on our floor didn't work, the AC didn't work properly, the breakfast was gone 30 minutes before it was to end. The young man working the breakfast was doing a great job but it was his second day alone and they didn't have what they needed for a busy weekend. I asked to speak with the manager but he was in Vegas for the weekend. He is real dedicated to his staff. Jose, head of housekeeping and Lauren at the front desk were great but they can only work with the tools they have. A new leader may improve the place.
