Review of Jekyll Island Club Resort 3*

If you are looking for a resort to visit that combines an experience that is not only full of grandeur and luxury but is also relaxing, and soothingly energizing as well, then you should stay at the Jekyll Island Club Resort. Located on Jekyll Island, Georgia, and listed on the register as one of the Historic Hotels of America by the National Trust for Historic Preservation for Restoration in 1986, this historic hotel was originally constructed in 1887. I just think this place is so enchanting and magical. The resort is spotless and immaculate. The rooms are well appointed and have a vintage feel with all the quaint furnishings. And, there are lush tree-lined grounds dripping in Spanish moss which provide a scenic backdrop and transport one back in time to the 1800's. Now for fun… activities abound. You can do a lot of things such as: go swimming; workout in their fitness room; and go biking along trails which take you past a marsh, on a boardwalk, over a bridge, to a park, a pier, along the beach, and past numerous shops as well. If you want to kick it up a notch, you can indulge in: taking a dolphin tour; a horse drawn carriage ride; or horseback ride along the beach. The restaurants are excellent here, too. I ate at both the upscale Grand Dining Room and the casual Wharf Restaurant. Both places offer delicious food that is beautifully presented and excellently prepared in a totally unrushed atmosphere. Try the Jekyll Island Club Resort if you're ever in the area for a time that is sure to be memorable. I just love it!
