Checked in early. Sketchy surroundings. Asked to come back for keys. Returned to find office closed (was not told there was a deadline). No one responded to phone call. Does not function like a hotel. We had to find another hotel when town is booked for large event. Called Central reservations to cancel second night reservation. Told could not be done. Called front desk and was told they had no reservation. I explained we had already checked in, The woman hung up on me. Absolutely the worse hotel experience we have ever had. Place for those who have no where else to go. Should not be listed on hotel booking sites. Do not stay here.

Had a tripadvisor confirmation, had no rooms, the fella was rude about it, making fun of me for using an internet site instead of just walking in. The vibe reminded me of that old movie New Jack City.

The staff should get a five star because they don't have enough resources to work with. Terrence is a awesome manager.

I do not recommend this place at all! we reserved our room in april. We always reserve a room when we come to the nhra southern nationals, so we chose hometowne studios this year (2018). We left the nhra event and went to the hotel and they were closed. We arrived at 7:04 pm and it was closed! we called the phone number on the door for assistance, a security guy answered the phone and told us management had left for the day and there was nothing he could do for us! so we had to find another hotel, americas best value inn and they treated us awesome plus gave us a discount since hometowne studios screwed us over. Will never reserve a room there again… I mean why did they close at 7 with such a huge event around? they never said anything about closing at 7 pm when we reserved the room! zero stars from me!

I found it very easy and pleasant to book a room at Hometowne Studios at short notice. The staff was accommodating and flexible with my needs, including taking care of some trouble I was having with my key cards and providing me with an option to stay a longer period for a lower rate. Plus, the hardwood floor and kitchenette in my room suited my needs well. I stayed two weeks here at the Gainesville location, and had a very nice experience overall.

I stayed a week and had to deal with bugs. They only give clean towels once a week. And the sheets are stained with blood and such (maybe they should dye them black). The so called queen beds are only full size. And they don't give a blanket, just a bedspread. So take your on towels and blanket. Spray the room with bug spray and use air freshener. I sprayed everything with Lysol as soon as I got in the room. I did complain to the office about the bugs and the heat/air unit not working properly. I did take some of my own towels and wash clothes once I found out I only got new ones once a week. The t. V. Wi-Fi and refrigerator work good.

Only concern is lack of security and lack of monitoring property guests. Office closes at 7pm and closed on Sundays. Been here a long time. Seems to be going backwards from when I initially arrived. Police activity very high here.

Dirty rooms. Loud. People constantly knocking on door and not there when you answer. Manager was great.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are horrible. Cockroaches and other tyoes of bugs everywhere. Mold on celing in my room. All over nasty place to be. And forget about gettimg in ur room past 7 if ur key messes up or u lose it on accident bwvause lobby closes at 7. This place is a joke.

The rooms are luck of the draw. I drew a bad room Mold on the bathroom walls, tub was dirty, dust was everywhere. The pillows had stains on it and found a hair in the covers when I pulled them back. I check in and out in ten minutes. If you like gambling try your luck.

This motel offers decent accommodation and value for your money. The front desk clerk is friendly, helpful and professional.

They could use more housekeepers gound people and a good power washer. The rooms are not what you see on the web page. If you need to cook it will do.

The room was clean when we walked in Friday afternoon, but the tub was not scrubbed and there was mildew growing in the tub crevices. The elevator had trash all over the floor. Saturday morning, there was trash all over the parking area and the trash bins were overflowing with trash bags and flies all over. They need a grounds keeper for 2 hrs on weekends to keep the grounds and trash bins. Housekeepers need to have higher cleaning standards The room next door 226 had a dog and it keept barking. The website said "no dogs allowed". It would have been OK if it had not been for the TRASH.

This "hotel" is nothing more than a weekly rate ghetto apartment complex. I'm staying for 3 days unfortunately. Kids running around the parking lot while their parents are doing who knows what. The room 3 down from mine has assorted men going in and out. By v assorted I mean 13 different ones. This place needs to be raided by local police, child enforcement, immigration, and, drug enforcement. This place is nothing but ghetto.

The customer service was phenomenal and the fridge and stove top were clean, but that's kinda where the good news stops. In our smoke free room there was an ashtray and cigarette holes in the sheets. The microwave interior was horribly stained. I was almost locked in the bathroom because of the door handle. There was trash in the parking lot outside my room. This hotel idn't really for the faint of heart.

ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS! We came back from Formula Drift last night to a room FULL OF ROACHES! We passed by some occupants that reeked of weed. There was blood on the bathroom wall. People were firing off fireworks in the parking lot next to our car. There is honestly just too much to mention. We ended up leaving in the middle of the night to stay at a great room in Commerce. You can tell this place used to be nice… but the extended stay part has ruined the hotel as a whole. The best part was how easy it was to get a refund and how nice the front desk guy was. Would absolutely recommend you spend a little more and stay elsewhere.

My family and I have been staying at the Sun Suites in Gainesville for a little over a month now. I can say that the General Manager JaQuari is awesome. He truly cares about what goes on around there and has made wonderful improvements since joining the property. Brandy is awesome and they both are great people to deal with. Five stars for Sun Suites all the way.

This is the worse hotel ever! We spent three nights here and the cops were out for two of them! Once for a drunken dispute with another room and again for the dead body found a few doors down! The cops are investigating it as a homicide. And it has nothing to do with the dismembered body that was found here a year ago (feel free to Google it) No one ever answers the phone in the lobby (even the emergency number) and I seriously couldn't tell you how many times we saw drug deals happening. Please don't waste your money or risk your safety.

Great place to stay — the staff are all very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the maintenance. My husband I stayed here about a month and enjoyed our time here. There is a grocery store in walking distance across the street, and enough space in the room to cook and store necessary belongings. We were very comfortable here and would recommend as an affordable place to live a short time.

Horrible place to stay. Absolutely no room service. The cold water never worked called 4 times in 2 days and was told it would be looked at and no one ever came. Not to mention at arrival there were hairs and dirt all over the bed and sheets they were never changed. I would never come back or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Staff is very friendly. But my last stay was awful. Roach infested room. So they switched me to a different room and it was also Roach infested. Roaches are a deal breaker for me. Especially for almost 300 dollars a week.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE 4/5 star reviews! My wife has submitted video and pics of this disgusting place to the appropriate officials. Not just the local health inspector. I'm so baffled that the health department hasn't issued so many sanctions — OR CLOSURE — to this utterly disgusting, pest invested, inconsiderate, unsave, and outdated rooms that it's disturbing being an American consumer. This completely sad place doesn't clean your room but ONCE a week — that's why it's so freaking nasty and FULL with pests — they want their guests to WASH SUN SUITE'S TOWELS, no tissue paper, etc. Who cares if some guests bring their own toiletries? It's just freaking courtesy. The ONLY security cameras on the property is by the offices and the PAID laundry room with NO ICE! No cameras on the floor by the rooms, elevator, etc. Susan and Amanda — so-called managers, that any human would be embarrassed to be labeled that at this filth — ACTS so clueless to the growing-pains here. WORD OF ADVICE, CHECK THE ROOMS BEFORE GIVING THESE CROOKS ANY MONEY! As one poster stated — "it's cleaner and saver to sleep in your vehicle rather than here! "

Cleanest place I have found in Gainesville to stay very nice hospitality.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The rooms are filthy. The manager and property manager live there and are clueless about the property or rooms. Bugs, snot, stained beds, dirty walls, etc, etc. The list goes on and on. To me they really need negative stars.

Never stay at this hotel. Is better to sleep in your car, safer and cleaner.
