The owner are a wonderful sweet couple! And the breakfast is amazing! I wish I would have took a picture this morning! The presentation was beautiful. The Decor is very charming, let’s not forget just how comfortable the beds are! Wow! It’s like sleeping at the Ritz! REALLY! We will definitely be back here. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
PS: I’m so glad, they don’t allow pets! 🙌🏻 I’m so allergic, and the first time in years, I really enjoyed my stay! Thank you carrie & Zack for a wonderful two days!

Hands down, the best B&B experience we've ever had. The owners Zach and Carrie are personable and just awesome people. The breakfasts are so yummy, fresh, and are different every day. Coffee and tea are available as well. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We are already looking forward to our visit in December 2021!

I HIGHLY recommend Open Gates! You will not find better service, more accommodating hosts, and in such a charming environment! Do yourself a favor… Just book it!

We have stayed with Zac and Carrie twice. Once at their Dockside B&B and once at the Open Gates B&B. Both visits were wonderful. Zac was helpful with points of interest and restaurants in the area.

Zach and Carrie were terrific from the moment we arrived. Their knowledge of historic Darien added to our visit, and they made certain my interest in the town's storied past was satisfied. The postbellum Open Gates House and its grounds were well-maintained. Zach's sumptuous and savory breakfasts were phenomenal. We will be back and highly recommend it for a weekend or week-long getaway.

What a neat place! My fiancé and I love staying in bed and breakfasts. We were greeted by Carrie who was super friendly and showing to our room. The sheets were amazing and soft. Everything was beautifully decorated. We were served breakfast by Zach And it was stellar. You’re conveniently located to everything that the town has to offer and you can’t beat the price. We would definitely stay here again if our travels take us through this area. Thank you Carrie and Zach!

The best B&B in Ga. I've stayed in many, but open gates is hands down the best! A home away from home, quite, relaxed, no pushy home owners. Zach is the best! Money well spent for true hospitality.

Beautiful venue! We just provided entertainment there this past weekend for a wedding and the staff did an amazing job from set up, to decor to catering!

This was our first stay at a B&B and we loved it! Our bed was super comfy, the house was beautiful, and the food was delicious! Zack, the owner and chef, was so friendly and such a gracious host!

Step into the past. Wonderful older home with that just build look. Every where you look is another surprise. Chief Zak will wow you will just cooked food.

Such an amazing area, quiet and so welcoming. Wish we could have spent more time in the area. Right across from an amazing chocolate shop (Sugar Marsh Cottages). Great local restaurants. Amazing breakfast and the fresh baked cookies upon arrival were so much fun after travelling!

A truly wonderful small town experience. The house is so beautiful and Zach and Carrie May are excellent hosts. The breakfasts are award winning and words cannot Express the deliciousness! We were the only guests on a rainy afternoon and Zach baked fresh chocolate chip cookies for us.

So lovely! Had a great time! Thank you Zach and Carrie for being so welcoming and, essentially, giving us free range if your place. We felt very much at home. We were passing through on our way from Florida to Michigan and just happened upon Open Gates website while searching for a place to stay. I called and was able to book the last available room for the night. He graciously accepted my kids. Zach gave wonderful recommendations on local places to check out for dinner, blue bay was delicious btw! I loved all of the information in our room. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of outlet space for phone and tablet charging. Chocolates on the bed. Scent sachets under the bed. Sadly, we left before breakfast but it sure did smell amazing! Would definitely visit again if we are in the area!

Victorian B and B located on historic Vernon square, great host Zach Rath, delicious breakfast and pastries, comfortable accommodations, nice place to host an event, inside or outside.

Went to Darien, GA. For a farm to table dinner. Stayed at the Open Gate B&B. Wonderful old house with 12' ceilings. Run by Zach, a trained chef. The breakfast was wonderful with crepes stuffed with a cream cheese mix, fresh fruit and berries and pastry.

Didnt get actually enjoy a stay. Just came for a wedding as a stylist. One of the wooden dens had a strong moth ball odor but it is older. The yard was set up beautiful for the wedding.

Lovely room! Gourmet breakfast! It rained during our stay and it was still wonderful. Beautiful little town.

Zach & Carrie were so incredibly accommodating! I came from the other side of the world, and was extremely nervous, but they both took me in and made me feel so at home. They showed me around the town and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. The breakfasts were BEYOND delicious and kept me full all day! I will absolutely be back, should I ever pass through town again. If I could stay here every day, I would! Thank you!

Love this quaint inn that is so close to so many near by Georgia coastal attractions. The old oak trees in the town are magnificent. Zach and Carrie do a lovely job of making you feel at home away from home. There are not enough words to describe the scrumptious breakfasts that Zach whips up in the kitchen! Every breakfast was different and delicious. There is plenty to do nearby during the day and when you are done with your day, you come back to a quiet, relaxing and peaceful evening in your room that is decorated with lovely antiques. This inn is also a wedding venue and would make a beautiful location for a wedding!

What a hidden gem! Zach and Carrie are very hospitable. Don't get me started on the food! I'd have Zach be my personal chef if I could afford it. Comfy, clean and is always a pleasure to stay and experience some truly amazing hospitality!

We only stayed for 1 night, but wish we had stayed longer. Open Gates is a great place… peaceful and very relaxing.

We have been visiting Zack & Carrie at Open Gates for the past three years. They just keep getting better and better! Chef Zack makes the most amazing breakfasts & pastries! The rooms are beautiful and Darien is such a charming stopover — nothing to improve on.

A late night at work and early rise. Nice and quiet and upon wakening breakfast was ready with fresh fruit and cigar crepes with Carmel drizzle. Mmmmm. Thanks Zach.

The Open Gates B&B is a fantastic getaway destination. Zac is an extrordinary chef, and the setting is like that you would imagine the best of coastal Georgia to be… both the house and grounds are impeccably maintained, and the location, in the heart of Darien, is a perfect place from which you can start your adventures. If your looking to stay a night, or more, in Darien, this is your place!

Beautifully located on a square with live oaks and spanish moss in the delightful fishing village of Darien. The decor was wonderful, I was toasty warm on a very chilly January night. I woke up to a gourmet breakfast, like I have never had. I will return.

Great hospitality, great food, great accommodations.

Totally loved it. We slept in the private guest house and it was awesome. Great breakfast too.
