Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel "Room 1027" Review05/31/2016 20:50
Reviews of Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel 3*
Great service and great restaurants, Hotel service is the best in town.
Love the view from the runway side. Rooms clean and spacious. Good food and conference space.
Great service and friendly staff.
They was very helpful… will be back.
Has great views of airport, the rooms are spacious and great shuttle service.
I absolutely love this hotel and the staff is so friendly and helpful.
I 💘 the atmosphere and the scenery the view of airplanes are intriguing. I had so much fun. 🥰🥰🥰🏆🏆🏆
Great view of watching the airplanes take off and land on our balcony. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
It was an awesome stay. The hotel
Is beautiful. The personnel were
very friendly, accommodating, and
professional! They gave us a late
check out which was greatly
appreciated. I will gladly recommend
your hotel! Thanks for your
hospitality!
Such a fabulous experience!
Loved the hotel and the staff is simply AMAZING! So accommodating, warm, friendly, and professional. I wish our stay had been longer than one night!
I absolutely enjoyed my stay this past weekend! The staff was very personable and accommodating! Will definitely recommend this hotel! The breakfast at the in-house restaurant was also amazing!
The staff is amazing. We got stuck in Atlanta due to weather. Rhonda was great. She got us set with toothbrushes. The bar staff was lovely.
I really enjoyed my stay! Everyone was exceptional! Due to the corona virus, I hate that I couldn’t experience the dining lounge area but from the looks of it, it looked like a wonderful place to dine. I thank you and appreciate the wonderful experience I had while staying there.
Clean room. Great views. Amazing front desk staff.
We booked our room a couple nights prior and drove 2 plus hours to get there. We were TIRED when we got there and wanted to nap and freshen for a dinner reservation 😒 well we arrived shortly after 4 and were told the rooms were not ready and there was no projected time for check in. Ok, so we went to have mani/pedis while we wait 😒 an hour or so later and still no room or anticipated time. The only solutions provided are to blindly wait… no compensation for the inconvenience. We cancelled and will not return. If this is how this location does business then I definitely don’t recommend this location.
Awesome atmosphere and service!
Perfect location, awesome staff, great food.
Amazing location to spot aircraft from your balcony.
Beautiful. Great service. Friendly. Great food. Love watching the planes. They have balcony.
Service is exceptional. Jose is always smiling and helpful. The food is delicious and the entire staff is top notch and friendly!
Lovely hotel. It’s at the airport but very quiet. St least my room was!
Great food and service at the luncheon. The chicken was very tasty.
Absolutely amazing view of the airport concourse… and very friendly atmosphere.
It's a beautiful place. Rooms are large, clean and outside patio overlooking airport is pretty cool. Restaurants are good, nice place to sit and have a drink and relax. Convenient to catch next flight.
Beautiful hotel and wonderful customer service!
What a beautiful hotel. So comfortable. Great service, so clean …
Great staff, very attentive.
Comfortable & spacious, clean rooms. Very good restaurant, a bit pricey but the only one on the property. However, note that the hotel shuttle hours are limited! The shuttle does not run to get you to the early morning flights on time! So before you book, check your flight time with the shuttle time!
Very courteous employees and good cheese n wine.
The food at the hotel is up-and-coming great atmosphere and lovely view of the sunset and sunrise.
Great staff and very convenient to the airport.
A very good hotel to stay for a connecting flight, dinner at the restaurant was delicious and a very joyful environment, lots of people around! The room had a view and we could see the airplanes at take off and landing and was not noisy at all. I recommend the hotel, we also had a shuttle airport-hotel-airport and everything worked out fine and very easy connecting airport.
Very nice hotel. Pleasant and acommodating staff. Love a balcony room overlooking the runway at the airport.
Huge kudos to your staff! From the moment we drove up, the guys at the valet, to check in, to the bellhop (do they still call her that)?
bringing our bags to our room.
Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly!
A gentleman came around from behind the desk and handed my 9 yr old a little gift box, a little something for her to use to watch the planes. What a way to make her night! Thank you all so much!
We are very tired from having to drive from Greensboro to catch our flight, our Raleigh flight was cancelled due to the hurricane.
We are grateful to have a home to return to as many on the coast will not.
You ALL made our arrival to Atlanta wonderfully restful!
I was at the hotel for a business conference and had the pleasure of staying overnight. The rooms are beautiful and overlook the airplanes departing. It's an unforgettable view. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was great and it had a very nice bed. The workers were nice and food was good. All in all a nice place and a great view. Only thing was it was hard to sleep with the noise from the planes.
Nice hotel with a soaring atrium. You can enjoy great views of Hartsfield-Jackson if you like watching planes. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful.
Arrival: As we were checking in, the bellman had our car unloaded before we knew it. He took our bags up for us and was very friendly. When we approached our room, there were dirty dishes outside the room. The bellman went in first to make sure the room had been cleaned and it had been but I had to call room service for them to pick up the dirty dishes that were left behind. Interior: very pretty and it seemed to be newly updated. Loved the openness and had a “vintage” feel. Rooms: The rooms are spacious with balconies overlooking the concourse. It was really neat to sit out and watch the planes come in. However, the room was not soundproof as advertised. The bathrooms are very small and need updating. The bathtub is white tile and mold/ black substance was in the grout. From the looks of the room, it had been updated with “bookshelf” wallpaper and was nice and inviting. The first night we stayed before flying out, the beds were lopsided. However, the 2nd night we stayed after flying back from vacation, the beds were much more comfortable and was a corner room. The restaurant was half par. They advertised a social hour with new craft beer. When we got to the restaurant to try the new advertised beer, they did not have any. The bartender said they never got any in. Food was ok but wait staff were friendly. Pool: 2 pools were advertised but only the indoor pool was functional. This area needs some major attention. It’s very outdated and the water was dirty.
I lived in this hotel on and off for a decade or so. The food is delectable. The concierge lounge was my favorite place to go in the mornings. The gym and pool are more than adequate for the guest. The staff are helpful and will do their best to fix any inconveniences. If you're in Atlanta and don't want to stay inside of Midtown this is the place.
Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport was overall a very nice hotel. It was easy to get around and very clean. The rooms were well kept and had good appliances. With the location of the hotel, you could see airplanes taking off and landing from your balcony. There were not many negative things about this place. It was a very nice stay.
What a beautiful place! The lobby is awesome. The staff is very attentive. The only thing I didn't like was the price of parking. You don't really have a choice otherwise. $8 for up to an hour is not right. But if you wanna go there you have to pay. Better to have an uber if you can mange.
Very beautiful hotel. High rise! The interior is cozy. I was to a meeting there. Downstairs room special organized. There is restaurant inside, bar. The elevator clean and transparent glass so you can see how hights. Stuff are okay. Not to impress.
This use to be a really nice hotel experience, but upon my arrival this stay I can say The Renaissance should change it's name to Motel 6! At check in my reservation couldn't be found, after being embarrassed and made to feel less than a valued guest "the manager" decided to try to accommodate me. My room was horrible, the carpet entry to my room was filthy, the bathtub has mildew growing along the side in the tile grout. Even the elevator carpet hadn't been vacuumed looks like in days. I spoke to guest services about everything and was told there no more rooms available because the hotel was booked. I took pictures and went to the front desk and then "the manager" offered to change my room. This use to be really nice hotel experience, NOT ANYMORE!
I stayed here for way longer than most people and the experience was pretty great. Jonathon at concierge was fabulous and made sure we were always taken care of. The only thing that was bad was house keeping eating the food we had in our room. We had stuff missing (not a huge deal) but when you're practically living there for a few weeks you have food in your room to get you through the long days and for it to go missing is just annoying. But other than that it was great!
EXCELLENT accommodations. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Meeting rooms were well maintained throughout event. Staff was courteous and helpful. Highly recommended!
This is a difficult review because there were some things that were great about this hotel. So let's talk about the good first. The location is excellent! It right next to the airport and if you go to zone 2, in the transportation area, there is a free shuttle to the hotel. The lobby is phenomenal, lots of space and areas to sit and talk. There are some restaurants near by if you want to get out and explore. The staff here is amazing and the foodservice even better! My bed was probably the best hotel bed I've slept on in a while. The bad: our room was not ready. Check-in was at 2 but we didn't get our room until 8 pm; some people in our group had to sleep at another hotel because it was overbooked. There were not an adequate number of bathrooms for the number of people that were here. My room did not get fully service on my last night and ended up having to reuse a bath towel from my roommate. I think I'm going to give them 4 stars because I think that they earned more than three.
I enjoyed my stay here at this hotel. My boyfriend and I stayed here for St Partricks Day weekend and it was very lovely. The staff is was very kind, especially the restaurant servers. The valet was very timely and friendly; the maximum time we waited for the car was about 5 minutes. The room itself was very spacious and it was clean. The only issue that we had with the room was that that the screw to drain the tub got stuck. It was very late, so my boyfriend ended up spending a few minutes to unscrew it. Other than that it was very nice and the view is absolutely incredible. If you're thinking about staying at this hotel and you are worried about the noise, don't be. My boyfriend and I slept straight through it. The noise is very subtle. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again the next time I visit Atlanta.
The hotel was very nice and clean. There was issue with the billing that unfortunately took time to resolve. I really dislike that the bathrooms did not have fans in them in the rooms. Also for the conference the 3rd floor did not have an available bathroom. The food in the bar area was very good.
Great hotel. Food great. I loved the view. They need microwaves in the rooms though. And even though it didn't bother me, if you're a light sleeper, don't get a room having the runway.
Awesome place to stay, close to the airport and everything in Atlanta. Hotel staff members are very courteous and friendly. The airport view is the best and it doesn’t get any better for lovers of airplanes!
Stayed for an event. Hotel performed way below expectations. Running out of food, giving away rooms of people already checked in, slow service, waiting over an hour for your dinner check (if you even got one. ) Trash cans we're virtually non existent. The toilet seat in my room was old, yellowed, and smelled like a military surplus store. A friend was told that the coffee machine was out of order and right away she sees an employee making a cup of coffee for himself. The event was GREAT, but we WILL NOT be returning to this hotel and neither will the conference.
Adequate accommodations. Virtually noise free even though you can see the runway from most rooms. Don't skip breakfast, it was awesome, especially the made-to-order omelettes. Easy shuttle to domestic terminal. Take a taxi or summon a car with an app for international and save yourself a lot of time.
We're here for our Anniversary and our room smells horrible like old mildew. Big nasty stains on the carpet made you not want to walk around without shoes on. I ordered room service and they added OLIVES. I didn't order olives on my pizza Front desk said they'd comp it but I was STILL HUNGRY. All in all the rooms are nice, check in was rushed and we weren't told about the amenities or anything but It definitely was not worth the $170.00 we paid. ‼️ The best part is the patio looking at the airport strip outside. Very disappointed…
This is a great hotel. Very comfortable accommodations. Very helpful staff. Great location. I came to attend a conference and was mostly pleased with the space. It was a little awkward to navigate when larger crowds were present and consistently cold in the lobby. (But that's not usually an issue in Atlanta! It was uncharacteristically cold when I was there. ) I also was not a fan of the weird over sized book wallpaper in the hallways. Nor did I appreciate the way too overpriced items in the little convenience store. Overall I was very pleased with my stay and would come back.
Hotel appeared a bit worn… needs to be deep cleaned. Handrails outside if rooms haven't been dusted in a while… a bit of rust on the bathroom vents… interior doors showing signs of wear on paint… most of the coke machines out of order or not working.
My wife and I stay at this wonderful hotel every year for Christmas. We love the runway views, a great restaurant, and the hot tub. Our room this year was penthouse suite. It was amazing and the staff was super friendly. It has become a tradition for us and I look forward to many more wonderful stays at the Marriott Renaissance Concourse Hotel!
Very nice hotel. We didn't like how the maids knocked and woke us up early to clean the room. They should be informed if we had checked out or not.
Beautiful building. I was here for my brother's wedding and some of my family stated here. The layout of the rooms is such that once you step outside your room you can see across to the opposite side. It's almost dizzying but that was one of the things I liked. Plus, even with the proximity to the airport the rooms stayed quiet enough to sleep easily.
Very nice hotel with a friendly staff. We got an upgrade to a room overlooking the runway. It was fun to be able to sit on the balcony and watch planes take off an land. Also, we got a good deal that included free parking for up to 10 days. Warning — despite being named "Concourse", this hotel is separate from the airport and requires a shuttle ride.
Stayed overnight at this hotel. Fly out of Atlanta quite often and try to get different hotels the night before a flight. This is one GREAT hotel even though it's older. It is well kept, staff are very pleasant and I received the room I requested which was on the top floor. This is a full service hotel with breakfast and concierge level. Many special events are held here. The bed was soft and room view was nice, but not the best. I could still watch takeoffs from my window. Surprisingly, the noise was very low from aircraft. In fact, I heard more from the inside of the hotel coming under my door, so I packed a towel up against it to solve that problem. Try it, it works! No complaints and absolutely would stay here again. Video on youtube channel. Thanks for reading.
Great stay! At check-in room was upgraded because I love the runway view! It really made my weekend! Cory was so friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and spacious! I'm usually really picky and can't find anything I don't like about my stay!
It is a very nice place the people who work in that place are very nice. I recommend you visit it will be stunned.
MOLD MOLD MOLD! I stayed at this hotel (room 710) for a corporate conference. I noticed the first night that the room was damp. The bed and sheets felt damp. When I was checking out I went to check the thermostat and saw there was black mold all around the ac unit (see pic on review). One of my peers told me their carpet under the ac unit was sopping wet. Unacceptable. I returned home on Wed night and have been extremely sick up until the following Monday. The keys to room constantly failed and they didn't offer a virtual key like most hotel chains. I will never stay in this hotel again.
I have never experienced a more incompetent staff. Rooms for a group booked months in advance weren't available until hours after we were supposed to check in. They billed people for nights they didn't stay here but didn't even have the room available lol. When my boss asked to pay for my room instead of having me reimbursed they said fine, but wound up charging my card anyway and said they needed a form that they never asked her to sign in the first place. My first night a maintenance employee walked into my room saying I called about the shower not working — — I just arrived and hadn't even had a chance to see the bathroom. Apparently he was given the wrong room number. The bathrooms were dirty — toilet seats falling off the hinges, blood on the walls, a trash hotel with a thin veneer of prestige. Go to Hilton.
I used the long term parking for a week. 3.25$ a day online, easy to park, use shuttle to airport and when I returned easy to get back. Friendly staff, I would definitely use again.
The staff here is so caring and phenomenally helpful. I'm visiting from Kansas and my daughter was coming to pick me up from Alabama with no gps. Two gentlemen ones name was Cory (and unfortunately I didn't get the the other gentleman's name) and they talked to her and guided her step by step to the hotel to pick me up. They were extremely nice and handsome might I add, and they were determined to get her there safely. More Hotels need staff like this. Definitely 5 star rating. Thank you Gentlemen for all your help.
Close to the airport with great views of the runway. My room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the pillows numerous. The in-room coffee wasn't too bad either.
This is probably one of the coolest hotels I have stayed at. It overlooks the airport! It was so nice to sit on my balcony and watch the airport's goings-on. It is a little noisy on the airport side of the building, so if you are looking for silence, ask for a room on the opposite side of the airport. There is a shuttle to the airport that runs every 20min starting at around 4am. There are also a bunch of places to eat near the hotel as well.
Service is always excellent here. Facilities are very nice, and the staff is always courteous and helpful. Beware of the $7 they want to charge you to park though — this is a recent development. You can park down the street for absolutely free, so don't be fooled into the scam.
I used a Marriott Gift Card here. The gift card more than covered the balance. Any unused balance would remain on the card according to the language of the contract. However, this hotel actually took the remaining balance as profit. They actually report that on the receipt "profit". Buyer beware of this property, I have never had a hotel knowingly pocket remaining balances for profit. As of July, 25th 2017, this hotel has done nothing to resolve this issue. As of August 5th, no apology… crickets.
This is the place to stay. I had a horrible experience with the airlines today (what else is new? ) and they managed to turn my negative into a positive. First, Cassandra rebooked a reservation I had cancelled without changing the rate. Then the sympathetic front desk staff upgraded me to a suite just to make me smile, Then the bar staff was PHENOMENAL and made me smile, talked to me so I wasn't alone. You need to stay here. THANK YOU STAFF for CARING! It's so hard to find organizations that care. Know you are now my go to in Atlanta, I really appreciate your kindness today!
This is just a great place. It was our 4 year wedding anniversary. We we're revisiting our wedding venue! This hotel made my wedding day one of the best days of my life. The food was awesome especially the bread pudding. The rooms are absolutely beautiful! Love the hotel. It also has a awesome view of the airport!
Nice open atrium. Really friendly staff. This sounds like a "duh" comment, but if you're on the side facing the runways a) nice to sit on your balcony watching the planes and b) sucks at 5am or whenever the flights resume. Other hotels I've stayed in with the same type of set up had much better sound insulation.
The interior walls are pretty thin so you can here a lot through the walls and noise from the lobby. The runway facing rooms are cool though, however the rooms are a little dated. No free internet, but they do have a airport shuttle that runs every 20 mins.
My wife and I love this hotel. It is clean, very nice, the employees are excellent, they have fair rates, and if you get an airport facing room, the airport view is outstanding (if you love airplanes like me). Highly Recommended.
Checked in. Got to room and room service tray (used) was still in front of door. Went to bar after dropping off bags. Waited to meet my colleague and waited 25 min before a bartender or wait staff to come to table (actually I moved — and then finally got server to table, when my colleague showed up). Food was good. Service was fine but had to be a bit brash. Worst is shuttle in AM runs ever 20 minutes. Waiting downstairs, inside since no where to sit, and the bus drives up at 8:18 and departs at 8:19
I'm not impressed with this hotel and I'm a loyal Marriott customer. I am staying for just over two weeks and there are no washer and dryer facilities for customer use. The second issue is that my room isn't cleaned until after 5pm. I have asked for an earlier service and will check the results today. Yesterday my room wasn't cleaned at all. Location wise the hotel is ideally close to the Atlanta airport and Flight Safety International.
Jesus! be a pressure regulator! the absolute worst experience ever! we were double charged to start! we pay for everything that we want but somebody is about to pay up… stat! then after 45 minutes of waiting for our car to be found, I went and searched for it myself, only to find it completely backed into the bushes and no keys in sight! we're traveling with 4 kids and had our entire day planned, only to be stuck in this hotel very frustrated with money wasted on city passes, tours, the fair and all! we very well could have just stayed at a 2 star hotel and parked our own vehicles and been on with our day! the worst experience ever! we are in the process of contacting the proper authorities!
The hotel is OK the stuff always smiling. The room I had was not properly clean condoms left behind from previous guests carpet needs cleaning ASAP then the housekeeping woman are no good then for some reason they seem mad or not happy to be working now night shift is very respectful helpful actually ask how your day always smiling very pretty smiles if I must say… You be the judge for yourself your stay may be better then mines.
Breakfast bar was ok, lack of waffles was a pretty big deal to our group. Rooms are clean, water gets plenty hot, and the staff are very friendly. The$15 a day for Wi-Fi away from the lobby is pretty step though.
This is a very nice hotel but I expected more for the price. I think it would a great service to the customers if there were complimentary bottles of water in the rooms instead of 5.00 bottle of Evian. The bathrooms are clean and modern. The bedding is the best part. The beds are very comfortable. Finally the view of the planes taking off and landing is superb. And no its not too noisy.
Great staff, beautiful room. My two year old loved hanging out on the balcony and watching the airplanes take off. We will definitely stay here again.
Very friendly staff and room had a beautiful view of the airport. Room was well insulated for the noise of being alongside such a busy airport. Also well furnished and clean.
Great experience. Check in was simple; everyone was professional and helpful. Good food, clean, and very comfortable. Minimal airport noise despite being between two terminals. Would recommend for business or air port related stays.
Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by the valet. We were told by the valet the prices of parking. We decided on self parking. We were then told to go check in and that a bell hop would assist us with our luggage. The Renaissance Airport hotel overall was good. When we got to our room there was no complimentary water, nor were there any tissue nor an exhaust fan in the bathroom. So therefore they deserve a seven.
Balcony rooms are nice for viewing airport and the room was reasonably priced. However, carpet did not appear that clean and breakfast buffet was overpriced and just average. I have had better breakfast buffets at lesser hotels.
Great hotel for those that like to watch planes and other airport fun. The hotel is decently priced but does charge for just about everything. Parking, Wi-Fi, etc. If you can get a package deal it might help save money. The staff was just ok for us. The assumed you had been there before and knew everything. When we did ask for things (like what level the restaurant was located on) it seemed like we were asking for the world and was an inconvenience for them. It is a place we would stay again.
Very small and outdated room. No amenities. No running water or working toilet on morning of checkout Sept 25; reported to front desk; never heard anything back; should have been offered refund. Long time Marriott member, time to start shopping around. Decent dinner in lounge night before. Shuttle to and from airport is forever. If you want to watch airplanes, go to the airport. If you want to get a good night's sleep and working toilet, go to another hotel. This is at best a two star hotel. The world has passed this hotel by and so should you. We won't be back.
It was very fun, Runway view was awesome! Wifi charge finally stopped. Food was good. On 2nd day of staying though, there was a convention and elevators, rooms, and restaurants were backed up. It was very good service everything was clean. Atmosphere was fun and cheerful. The funny thing was is a beetle landed on our balcony with a parasite and the staff took it away!
Beautiful room. Had view of airport runway. Bed was very comfortable didn't want to leave.
ALL of the staff are very kind ands helpful! Clean rooms annd positive atmosphere. I felt very welcomed! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking fora great experience.
The bed was very comfortable. The bell service was non existent. After a week long international trip I had to carry my wife's luggage and mine to the room. The food was good bit horrifically over priced. The interior decorating of the room. Damn, girl. Dump that guy and go buy some nice drapes for this place. You are worth it.
Jan 22, 2015 visit. Very nice clean upscale hotel staff wonderful and friendly except at bar location Angela brought us a hamburger we asked for mustard and ketchup, her reply was only on request, well we are requesting. Later I asked her where the restroom was, she pointed behind me no words I found this very rude and unprofessional the hostess gave me directions. This is below Angela's classification to provide customers with courteous information. After I returned I saw her with another customer who was purchasing many bottle's of wine for their party she blankly stared at him he ask if she was bringing she only said yes he said your bringing it now yes. No smile came to this ones face. As we checked out we mentioned to the bartender who continued to apologize we wanted to make sure she was not getting any part of the tip. I understand everyone has bad days but she clearly should not be working with the public.
Love this hotel. They have me a breakfast card because the concierge lounge would be closed. Plus I was on crutches and they took my bags to the shuttle for me to the airport. I LOVE this hotel.
They have stopped the breakfast buffet during weekdays. Never have an AJC newspaper available. Bar food took forever. Lobby cold. Elevators dirty. Room maid service terrible. Lobby cold. Will not be staying there again. Very disappointed. Used to be a nice place to stay.
I love everything about this hotel. This is the only place I stay when I visit. Everything is convenient from valet to checking in. I will say I don't like the fact you have to pay for breakfast but I will for all the other amenities I have! will never stay anywhere else.
It was strange that the internet was free in the lobby, but it was 14.99 per night in your room. I could literally sit outside my door and have the lobby internet. With parking costing 16.00 per night, no free breakfast or even coffee, I guess I would expect more. The rooms were nice, however there were stains on the towels. Overall, the view of the airport runways were the best part, and that's probably the only reason we would stay there again. The staff was nice and attentive (when we asked for new towels), and the gym and sauna room were a nice touch, but nothing to get too excited about.
My husband and I really loved this place. Everyone is polite and the rooms and everything else are VERY clean. We spent most of our time on the balcony which gave us a great view and we also enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub. The down side is we had to pay $16 a night for parking and the breakfast, lunch and dinner was also an additional $16 and it was a buffet. Why wouldn't a hotel so nice offer free continental breakfast? If we wanted room service for breakfast it was $14 plus 15% gratuity. So we went out. I can say by the 2nd night I was ready to go home only because the planes we disrupting my sleep. So light sleepers beware.
Excellent hotel to stay at. The rooms are always clean and the service is excellent. The runway side rooms provide a great view. A must place to stay.
First-rate Lodging With Terrific Views. The Renaissance Atlanta Airport Concourse Hotel is a fine place to stay, with excellent service, clean up-to-date rooms, and ample amenities. Location is fine for a visit to Atlanta, and excellent for anyone flying in or out of the airport. What makes this hotel special though, is the wonderful views from its rooms. At check-in, you'll be asked if you prefer a "city" or "airport" view. City-view rooms offer a fine view of the Atlanta skyline, especially from the upper floors. Airport-view rooms give one an unobstructed look of the airport from the north, with two parallel runways just a stone's throw away. If you're a plane buff, or have children who are, this place is fantastic! Most of the airport-view rooms feature balconies, where one can sit down with a drink and watch the planes land, taxi, and take off for hours on end. Atlanta is an extremely busy airport, so the action never ends. Planes landing, especially those employing their thrust-reversers, offer a visceral aural experience; one largely (but not completely) muted by the "sound-proof" windows. If airport noise may trouble your sleep, you should stay on the city-view side. Even then one can get in a fine plane-watching session from the outdoor pool area or the bar/grill on the lobby level.
