Honestly, I love this hotel because we spent our whole vacation here. 1. Rooms and the bathroom are just super clean. That’s a huge win. 2. Poolside was perfect. It’s super cozy with a refreshment bar adjacent to the pool. 3. Staff is friendly and helpful. 4. Tropical Mango Cafe is within walking distance, and it’s a great breakfast spot! 5. The balcony view is excellent and private.

You would think that after the “time out” the hotel industry had during the beginning of the pandemic, they would want to come back strong and ready to receive guests, prepared and with every intent for return customers. This hotel is listed as a 4 star hotel and if I could I would only give it a one (that would only go to the valet staff). Upon arrival the pillows on the bed smelled like soiled hair. I called housekeeping and they never picked up. I proceeded to call front desk and they said it would be taken care of. Two hours later I still had the same filthy pillows in my room. Once I spoke to the. Manager I was then delivered clean pillows. I had also questioned where I could get ice and it turns out that the closet machine to me is shut down and I had to walk across the hotel, get in the elevator to the 2nd floor to then cross the grounds again. The safe in my room is not working and the replacement safe was loosely placed on top of the non functional one. This hotel does not have room service. I am sure they once did because the intent is there (buttons on the phone and on the menu). And finally I was charged over $300 a night for this horrible experience! I would not recommend anyone to stay here. I suggest anyone from corporate reading this to visit, reassess and remove your rating in order to give the customers a true description.

This is such a cute hotel in the heart of Sarasota. The staff was very nice and the place was incredibly clean. I would 100% stay here again.

I booked this hotel as a day use for a place close to my wedding ceremony to get ready. The day use program Seemed like a perfect solution since I only needed a couple of hours. I was there from 11:30 AM until 4 PM. They are not upfront about their fees. Self parking is not an option so there is also a valet fee. There is a $30 “destination” fee added that no one tells you about. No one ever told me what was being charged or gave me a receipt for anything. I was shocked to see the charge the next day on my account. What was supposed to be a fee of $95 day use charge turned into a $168 charge. The rooms are very small and hard to move around in. Super disappointed in their customer service and lack of transparency. I would not use this hotel again.

During C-19 they furloughed 95% of the staff and unfortunately the housekeeping staff is unable to manage hotel is dirty, smells of sulfur water pool is so gross it’s not even being cleaned. Kaitlyn is not helpful at all.

Terrible and unacceptable experience with the “rooms manager” very unprofessional, the way she spoke and her attitude towards us. As soon as I walked in with family I felt I was being racially profiled after I was denied a mask for my husband right after one was given to another guest in front of us and the Valet attendant sent us to the front desk since ours broke outside. I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota and Miami, JW Marriott Marquis, JW Marriott Miami and the Beaux Arts Autograph in Miami and I have never been treated this way or near the way this lady spoke to me. Before we got to the hotel the front desk attendant (not the best service either) called twice the day before our arrival to charge us for both rooms I had reserved and paid for over the phone (I have never had to do that before but I did give my cc info to secure them) I arrived, completed the check in, went out, and the “rooms manager” calls me to tell me she cancelled one of my reservations and there is nothing she could or would do because “it was an employee’s fault”. As a manager and leader she did not take ownership of the issue or even try to resolve it, she gave me an unprofessional attitude talking with her hands and told me in front of other people “we could go back and forth all day and I am still not giving you the room because I am 100% sold out, which didn’t make sense from her first excuse.

Hotel was great, parking not so much, need towels to be delivered every day, instead of having to go to the lobby and get them daily.

Was amazing there, highly recommended this beautiful hotel, we will back, for sure.

Incredible hotel stay. Everything was amazingly clean and comfortable. The staff could not be any more accommodating. They were attentive to your every need. Especially, Stephanie at the front desk — A true leader in customer service. Sylvia at Rudolph's Restaurant was friendly, extremely helpful, and was dedicated to customer service as well. Even valet attendant, Tyler, welcomed you back with a big smile on his face. So focused on customer service and would make all guests feel special. Thank you to the entire staff at the Sarasota Modern for making our stay here a memorable vacation. Very conveniently located to downtown Sarasota. Enjoy your stay the way we did!
