Reviews of Miami International Airport Hotel 3*
Nice airport. The attendants were very helpful and friendly! Both times I've been to this airport it's always been a pleasant experience. It's quite modern. It's one of the biggest airports I've ever been to. Would definitely recommend to anyone flying in or out of Miami.
It's very cold. The big difference between the temperature outside and inside. Employees agree with this)
Abnormally cold. Very big difference between temperature outside and inside the airport.
We’re frozen.
After arriving to an international flight gate 12 mins before departure was turned away and revoked of our return flights. We requested our luggage as we were going to have to stay in a Miami hotel. We waited the two to six hours and the request was never fulfilled. We were told that our bags had been checked for the flight out the next day to Cancun. As we expected when we landed in Cancun or baggage was not there at the baggage claim. We received a notification that our bags had been delayed. After that there was no communication via American Airlines only us communicating with them. To our surprise three days later we were contacted to be told that our bags were found in Japan. They were then put on the next flight out to Cancun. With that being said we made the best of the situation and are hoping to be reimbursed for the items that we did need to purchase wow without our baggage. Here's a tip never request your luggage when you book a another flight let it be checked on the next flight. Also despite the situation keep your cool no matter what we are certain that because we lost our cool our bags were sent to Japan, otherwise how in the world…?
My arrival into Miami from Barbados was quick, efficient and straightforward, thanks to the plentiful kiosks available. When transiting through departures to LAX-Australia-NZ the customs officer was amusing and efficient, she really lifted the mood in an otherwise gruelling and tiresome process. Good job guys! From this grateful Kiwi traveller.
I found the Miami International Airport very good and efficient. Immigration was soft and easy. Luggage arrived in time. I changed my flight from International to domestic for Jacksonville. It was a great experience. The local plane for Jacksonville was too small, less than 30 seats. I had to put my luggage in the twin engine small old plane myself. It flew very low from Miami to Jacksonville, houses, vehicles and ground marks were clearly visible.
Airport poorly organized often with very long files and rude staff, also because of the conditions in which it is to work.
Realizing how inefficient they are, they thought it was good to devise a special registration for American citizens only to speed up. So they added to inefficiency discrimination.

This is not my favorite airport. The flow of traffic needs to be updated to make getting in and out easier. Innumerable terminals and hard to watch traffic and where you want to go. Once inside the wait at counters can be quite long. Same is true for security and for the retrieval of luggage. Restaurant quality depends on the terminal. Decent travel time into Miami and Miami Beach. Heading north or south from here can be difficult. Taxi service to Hollywood is approximately $70 and Suppershuttle is $41.
This was by far the worst experience out of my airport that I've been a part of. Our luggage was lost and being out of town nothing was explained to me or my family. Staffing was no help or had little answers. It's pretty sad when you spend your hard earned money and you have nothing but bad things one after the other. I could go on more but won't waist my time. Thanks for nothing Miami airport. Will be sure to treat everyone from the 315 better in the 303. I'm never coming back. So you won't get my money.
Well-organized structure in the location of areas and in the discipline of safety procedures.
Nice eating spots, my flight to New York was delayed by 3hrs, after the first he, the airline called for goodies to be distributed to all customers taking that flight. I think that was really cool. There was soda, water, sandwiches and much more. Airport is clean, beautiful infrastructure. I love to visit again.
This place is huge. I took the monorail to get to my gate. There are signs everywhere to help you. Also the food was awesome! I had a latin style dish so good. This airport makes you feel like your by the beach with it's sea decorations.
Excellent attention the people who attended us in Argentine airlines helped us to separate the suitcases to weigh less than 23 kilo each and we dispatch a suitcase without charge for the baby The truth that a first attention to the controls all well very respectful and very Tidy all the airport is very clean and big comfortable with places to eat and have a drink.
The airport itself is clean and most staff are nice and helpful. The major problem with this airport is luggage handling and the time it takes to get your luggage. No matter if the flight is arriving early, on time or late it typically takes 45 min — 1 hour before the luggage comes out. On top of that you will have 5 carousels empty and one with luggage from several flights just to make sure there is complete chaos… I can drive home from Ft. Lauderdale airport faster than waiting for my luggage at MIA …
One of the most efficient and attentive airports. Staff in Spanish and English. Very well signposted. Screens to verify the flights. Free Internet When you connect with the airport. Handicapped access.
Nice elegant and organized is fast once you arrive at this airport by all the mechanisms you have to transport personnel inside the airport has a kind of tram ramplas that carry the staff faster without having to walk and so one does not dominate the Language is easy to understand for the site one goes exactly I was impressed what is being a port was built thinking soap Macro level all around it is designed to receive private vehicles to rent vehicles The taxi company is the most Big Yellow railcars I've ever seen.
So far my experience ware good every time I used the airport. I think its a great airport. There is also a variety of options to eat or rest. I feel save there and the service is good. As a fact, I like airports because the service level and security is quite high.
Amazing Airport. I always take the Mia move to get to it as it is free and does not have time to wait. It is well signposted and even if there are many people, you can not lose. At night it is very cold, as it is very large. Everything is well located, from the shops to the car rental. I love the design and the renovations they are making.
Worst security check I've ever experienced! Disorganized. Hand luggage was simply tipped out of the boxes. Items were lost and then we were angepampt by the staff.
Notice for the TAP airline boarding area, it seems that the other areas are better.
Nothing, nothing, no resto or duty free in the boarding area. Free Wi-Fi is 30 minutes.
Never seen an airport so sad, as hallways.
Miami Airport very nice well organized…
It's not bad because you can eat 24 hours a day but the Wi-Fi is paying and it's not super fun when you have to wait 24 hours your flight.
"I'm in a nice bed"
Arrival in Miami change compared to other years they try to improve but Sava passport controls to the machines and if the paper that comes out with your photos and strikethrough control has customs for fingerprints, question why you come to Miami ect… Coming twice a year having all my family here C is a can better managed.
I go through Miami twice p. A. Flying in, they've made big change since miss 2017. The ESTA queues have gone, no more funny screens going up and down taking ghostly pics of you. Also, compared to Heathrow, waiting is much nicer. Nice views, space, light. And Di not have to run the gauntlet of hideous glitzy "prestige" brand shops when entering the Departure zone. No one Wants to sit around in these places, but this does its job ok.
So much improvement from the 80's! Nice to walk around waiting for plane, and the restaurants are nicely run — ate at 3 of them on different trips in the past month. If you are going south out of US, you likely will go through here, and it's not bad! Wide aisle is my favorite — makes it less crowded.
I Love My Airport, this is my city Miami FL, we have the best airport in the State. The best airport in the state, the most traffic, if you have not come to Miami for this airport you need something, you must see the corridors, modern spacious, the best security, the best security staff, the largest and most beautiful mix of cultures, are here.
Bad experience, the airport hardware looks good, did not check the outside before boarding no plug, feel bad, staff quality is very poor … No sense of service, need to improve the space is very big.
The Miami International Airport is a little more difficult to navigate than the next closest international airport in Fort Lauderdale. MIA is a much bigger airport with many airlines flying in and out of it at all hours. This is an airport I would recommend one leave with plenty of time, especially if you are not familiar with it. There are a few highways and local roads that provide access to this airport which is convenient, however it is time consuming since there is usually a bit of traffic in the surrounding areas due to its location. Like I mentioned before there are a lot of airlines that use this airport so that is another reason to leave your self some time to navigate it and find your airline. There are several terminals at this airport and the amount of traffic going in and out will cause delays. Parking is a bit of an issue at this airport. It is usually very busy so there have been many times were I couldn’t find parking closest to the area I wanted to park by.
Domestic flight NY-Miami. Arrival and departure all in a long "hall". Suitcase pickup pretty much at the end of the airport (i. E. A foot walk) this is also a very chilled out. Cleanliness is good. Taxis directly at exit (very well organized) depending on the zone 35-55 $ price for a taxi.
For an international airport after the security check no more many restaurants or bars.
All well signposted, despite the many traffic you can not lose. Very clean, tidy and modern. You have to be attentive to the schedules and try to go an hour ahead of schedule. Nice stay.
Course not obvious between the different doors modern airport! Small train for car rentals! Good enough!
February 11 800am I was leaving 2 people terminal F The trunk a disaster I don't pay attention to two ladies who had 7 suitcases.
The first talking x Cell the second was made the crazy and the third was not understand X that reason have people as well as Trunk da, ñan the image of Miami as a tourist destination.
Get nice people looking to work omeeeeeeee.!
Huge Airport! Smaller airlines can only be found by inquiring or longer search. Uses the cheap shuttle to the city!
I liked Miami airport because it is not full of people and you are very well served as a passenger in the airlines and is very signposted everything and you can change to finish without any problem and is clean it makes me a good airport between the USA.
One of the largest airports to in the U. S. Construction is still going on… hoping that it will finally finish soon. I am sure it will look quite lovely when done… but until then… Security is very organized here. Lots of shops and restaurants here. Lots of parking between the Flamingo & Dolphin Garage.
It's an airport with a lot of traffic. Very moved and with a variety of awesome flights. Some areas are very well maintained and very modern. Others a little sloppy. There is little choice of food inside the terminals. If you're going to eat it before you enter your doors. You have to leave a little earlier than expected at the time of your flight as the queues for security control are usually very long… The check-ins in immigration a collapse of people, very congested. Have a lot of patience as there is very little tolerance in the security people.
A huge airport where you can still find your best. However, if you have to change the size, do not underestimate it. The paths are easy to handle thanks to conveyor belts, but it all takes a little longer.
Well prepared for passengers with handicap and very friendly staff.
Filthy, stinking and old. Bad ways to pass the time.
In addition, our flight with Delta Airlines was cancelled, very bad as one is then treated and an infinite amount of time has elapsed until we had our luggage back.
No Wi-Fi, no shops, low service, poor design, not reasonable, should not be no.
Though improved over the last 5 years, this remains one of my least favorite airports. Despite the facelift, there are larger portions that are substandard for a 3rd world airport, let alone a hub link to the whole of Central and South America. For the most part, you'll be able to park quickly and get to your terminal. In fact the garage parking is quite convenient and probably the best part of the airport. The admiral's club is one of their worst. I prefer the one world lounge that comes with Priority Pass membership in E.
Flew here from Pittsburgh. It was very busy when I got there. Very long walk to the baggage claim from my gate needs more moving sidewalks. When walking and the baggage claim is far take the sky train. Do not do what I did. Instead of taking the tram I walked take the tram!
Miami airport is enormous and that's the only problem with it. There are long hallways with no moving walkways on them. So it's walk, walk, walk and if you have any problems with walking or anything that makes it difficulty for you, you need to think about that. It's up, down, up, down, walk, walk, walk. They'll have 3 elevators with one working and have to wait in line to get onto them. Then they're packed with people with suitcases, suitcase holders and then they have to move out of the elevator to let people off for a different floor and then get back on. If you have a connecting flight you have to take that into account and get to where you need to go or you'll miss your flight for sure at that place. And I heard announcements several times of them trying to find people who they were looking for a flight. Everyone is great with helping if you have questions, all the staff that I met up with are very nice people. But wish they would have thought with the long, long hallways to take that into consideration to make it easier, faster to move through. And if someone needs to sit down it would be nice to put a bench (s) here and there that someone could sit on if need be. Know that it's not easy to do in places but they have to consider that everyone is not a well, twenty year old so to speak that has no problems.
Excellent service, clean and very organized everything. Where I have traveled has been the best…
If you're traveling American Airlines, you will be fine and love this airport. It has the American Express Centurion lounge, swanky new renovated terminal with many restaurants and lots of clean new bathrooms. In other words, it's amongst the best you can expect in the USA. However, if you look at all the other terminals, greatness slips it by a wife margin. For starters the internet in this airport is horrible. It is practically nonexistent. There are a lot of good restaurants here but they're all spread across Terminals and you can never get to the one you actually want to. Some restaurants that are express restaurants here or heavily heavily limited in their menu and customization options. Once you cross security you can't travel between terminals for a particular restaurant, because guess what, all the good ones are in the American Airlines terminal. There is a dearth of electrical outlets in terminal H. Shame on you Miami!
Avoid the Corona beach house bar. They know why they don't write the drinks prices on the map.
I have travelled several times over Miami International and have had so overly fussy immigration officials every Time. This can bloom anywhere in the us, but in Miami I think It's Extreme. Since then I traveled through Fort Lauderdale/hollywood International Airport (mostly) and find it better (faster) because the airport is smaller and überschaulicher than miami. Immigration is much faster. Otherwise, Miami International (for The Size) is a very nice and very clean airport.
This is an amazing airport. It has to be one of the best in country. The terminals are beautiful! Staff is usually friendly. People complain that it is difficult to navigate, but to be honest any airport is easy to navigate if you just pay a little bit of attention to the signs or just ask people. I understand that travel can be stressful at large airports, I recommend doing research before traveling perhaps go on the airports website and take a look at the maps etc and arriving early it will be a lot easier! I hope everyone has a safe trip to wherever you are going!
Excellent and a very fast and professional service.
I have to say that I lost my cell phone and to inform them all were put into action reviewed the cameras and appeared many thanks to all.
So many AA counter, unexpectedly can not get boarding pass, not very easy to get, security line half a day, the birth and error two times plane.
This is a photo from the AVIANCA Lounge in Miami Airport. The offer is much better than what US airlines offer its guests.
Doors from A to J depending on your airline, the process for international travel is agile and without many complications. Inside the airport the prices are not the highest although I did not accept my debit card at one of the restaurants. Overall very well organized.
Fast turnaround for the next flight to the Bahamas but not the friendliest staff. You have to wait in a transit hall and on the oncoming flight, which was unsightly but with a closer look still 4 stars value because everything went like clockwork and with very high safety standards. All visitors there a good flight!
Last Thursday night, in transiting with my family through the Miami airport from Mexico, I have more than ever seen, in almost two hours of unnecessary formalities between flights.
Of course, I could join Nexus; All right, but what I experienced that evening was more of a mixture of disorganization and well-anchored structures than a multiplication of improvised controls to deal with the sudden rise of a possible threat.
Because it doesn't matter that the other three members of my family and I are just going to wind up on the way back to Paris, we are treated as if we were to stay for three months in the United States, as we trample one of its airports. If the terrorist paranoia, the security obsession and the fear of everything explain this practice, it has reached heights of absurdity, contempt and chaos in recent times in Miami.
As soon as you leave the plane, you first have to rush into a first line and wait before scanning your own passport (four, in our case), then answer questions on the screen and be photographed by a machine, without glasses, without Cap.
No priority if your a 6-month-old child and 4-year-olds.
Typically American.
Can be good but also very annoying.
Staff are, however, on the whole very nice.
Food and drink are very expensive.
Wi-fi is only 30min free and from then on it becomes very very expensive. Something ridiculous, but Well.
Horrid airport. Just awful. Flew from ATL to MIA. Six hour layover between flights before heading to Madrid. No beer in the E terminal outside of standard crappy shelf beers. No craft. No bars in E terminal. There's a Pizza Hut with personal pans and a Cafe Versailles that I'm pretty sure cooks everything the day before and then buses it over the next. Rancid. Seating outside of gates do not have charging stations. They added two stand up stations at the front of E20-E25 and E30-E35 but that's it. Each station with four outlets. Wall outlets do not work. Avoid this place like it's your job.
Lots of walking, but if you come early you'll be fine. Staff and border control were incredibly friendly and helpful! Could improve the place by making it a little more pleasing to the eye, but if they're preserving the 80's look then its a great thing!
When you book this hotel, please know that it is soley for convenience as it is not well kept. I booked this room 6 months prior with a credit card hold for two different nights on each end of an international trip. I was able to stay there the first night but unfortunately during my trip Hurricane Irma hit. I called the hotel at 6 am the day of my arrival to ensure that I still had the room confirmed, the woman I spoke with was very polite and said they still had a room for me. I advised them that my flight won't get in until 4 pm but ensured them that I would be there. When I landed in the US, I received an e-mail thanking me for the cancellation. I immediatly called the hotel and the woman I had previously had spoken to said I needed to talk to someone else. Upon being transferred the guy told me that the hotel was closed due to Irma and that it was a mistake that the woman confirmed my room as they had been closed for 3 days. Realizing that information was more than likely not the truth, I confirmed with him that nobody would be staying in the hotel that night and he said yes. Not believing this, I went to the lobby of the hotel to see for myself. What I saw was numerous customers going up the elevators to the hotel, one even came down to get his room key, re-keyed. I know writing this review will not really impact their business but what they did was complete BS and I felt I needed to write it.
I was traveling for work of course I was treated very poorly searches everywhere I was carrying an awkward USAG suitcase.
The bathrooms are dirty and today also without toilet paper! Some staff are chatting between them and they don't do their job. Most of the time the passport line is to big. Regarding food you can find variate kind and overprice. It's a big airport and you can use the train, that is good. I think MIA has a potential to be one of the best airports in US but it's necessary that they train their personnel to be clean and nice with the visitors.
Really disappointed with this airport. The outside is really modern. On the inside it is blah.
Do not pay in cash because the hostess this puts it in the pocket despite an invoice received this was bogus is no refund by the customer service notice so caution has well colprendre and leave traces nottament by CB.
Course not obvious between the different doors modern airport! Small train for car rentals!
I didn't find it particularly interesting to shoot. There is a smoking area with a bar inside.
Wow! This airport is huge and modern.
Worst airport I have ever flown into and out of. I was told by many to go in and out of Ft. Lauderdale, but I didn't listen. I will next time. After checking in at curbside (porter was AWESOME), he told us we were going out of terminal E which was a bit of a walk. No problem we were early and had plenty of time. We walked for about 20 minutes when we finally reached our security area. While walking we passed numerous food vendors, coffee shops, stores, and other places to hang out at when at the airport. We have Trusted Traveler, but in Miami that doesn't mean anything. They give you a little blue card, but they still make you take off your shoes, belts, etc. AND you go through the same line everyone else does! We went through security and got on the shuttle to take us to the satellite terminal. WHAT A DUMP! There are 3 food vendors: horrible food and no coffee places. If I knew where we were going, I would have hung out in the main terminal and headed to our gate 30 minutes prior. Also, come on Miami, spring for some decent seats. In this terminal they're hard plastic chairs with NO electrical outlets. If I had a delay at all (which we did in Boston but at least the chairs were comfortable), I don't know what I would have done. What was Miami thinking! Our gate was in the basement of the satellite terminal that had 2 vending machines. The bathrooms had one stall each! Now I know why all of the people that work at this terminal are miserable and not very friendly.
Not very big but and easy to move around.
Huge airport, but there is absolutely no place to eat it. That's disgusting!
Simple effective and pragmatic practice. We find his door quickly, the security is American so picky but it is quite normal.
On the other hand red card for the friendliness of the lounges units Airlines.
Rental vehicle made easy, small train, check-in and hop on board!
Great airport, easy to access. In the waiting you can go shopping in the beautiful shops present. Too bad that to visit the best should go out then pass the customs. Absolutely unthinkable.
America is all big, vibrant, different from our old Europe. All people very helpful at the gate even if you lack English. Here they speak almost all Spanish and, therefore, it is easier to understand.
Free Wi-Fi 30 minutes.
The service is unobtrusive)
The United States ' nerve airport. It must be taken into account that many international flights land here even just to make a stopover and start again for other American cities or for the whole Caribbean and South American Basin, and also for these passengers the passage through customs and immigration is Required so logically you can form long lines. Although I have to say that lately thanks to the automatic kiosks the problem is partly resolved. Very large airport but all in all well organized.
I give this hotel 2 stars based on cost of other hotels in the area. I stay in nice hotels when working and Super 8 hotels when I'm paying the bill. Pretty much every Super 8 hotel I've been in has been better. The good. It's clean, almost no noise from airplanes and they have remodel some what. But that is about it. What I consider "bad" is when a hotel simply does not offer what they can/should. There was no iron in my room. Every outlet was used up and I had to move funiture to get at them. The chair to the desk is a ottoman (the desk draw hits me in the upper chest). My Internet connection drops several times every 30 minutes (a few times it stayed connected for hours). There was no "do not dusturb sign so I had to make my own (thank goodness I brought my own pen as there is not one in the room). These are all things that I can live with but the reason for the 2 stars is that the hotel could _easily_ solve these issues and choose not to. It's like selling a car without tires. Sure, you delivered 99% of the car but what good is it without the tires. Note: lost Internet conection 3 times while writing this.
Seriously, I've got no idea why those guys rated this hotel with even more than 1 star. This hotel is in the terminal so that the only reason you would want to stay here is that you have a pretty early flight (3:00 AM) to catch. Then it would make more sense. No parking, Slow as hell internet, no breakfast (you can park at the airport parking lot for 20+ one night, and ofc you have to pay yourself. ). Yellowish wallpapers with weird smells. And you can hear and see the planes perfectly (so if you are an aircraft maniac, it would be nice). You can hear everyone passing by your room.
Needed a room for an overnight for my family of 9. I was a little concerned after reading the reviews but booked it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff was very nice. The room was clean and spacious. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Very soundproof. Breakfast in the restaurant on the top floor was very good and was a great deal for only $10 more for 4 people. Perfect location to stay when you have an overnight to catch a connecting flight. It was so perfect that we ended up booking it again for our return home. I would recommend this hotel for that situation. So convenient. It was very easy to find. Might pay a little more but it was worth the hassle of finding a hotel and having to shuttle back and forth with all of our suitcases and 3 small children. Would highly recommend.
This hotel was great for what I needed it for. I was catching a cruise the next morning and needed somewhere reasonably priced and clean. It was both. I was not mis-lead about the size of the room as it was advertised as a small room. Suited my needs just fine. Either all the negative comments here are from a bunch of spoiled whiners or you all just have money to burn.
Feeling trapped. "Yeah, babe — let's leave south beach and stay our last night at the airport hotel — get back in schedule — veg by the pool — they have a bar / restaurant and work out then we can hang out by the pool until we get on our plane! " Cabbie drops us off — There's no Front Entrance. You have to walk thru this bootleg construction feeling like you in a walk up police station. No real signs showing you where the hotel even was — SO MUCH CONSTRUCTION AND BRIGHT LIGHTS ew — We can not be in Miami anymore- False advertisement all around. No pool. Nowhere to sit outside. I'm in my half done hotel room right now whining because the only outside to go to is exhaust-land down by the smokers and cabs :/ South Beach ready for home.
Just awful. We had an early flight the following day and thought staying at a hotel inside the airport was the way to go. It was not. First off, the exterior of the hotel is not just poorly marked on the street, it is NOT marked at all. No signage whatsoever. So dropping off luggage was a real treat. Then there was the lobby, which is just a desk in the middle of the airport. The mayhem at the desk can only be compared to the the fall of Saigon. Screaming, crying, general panic. Everything we read about the hotel boasted about their "lobby" bar. If there is a lobby bar, we couldn't find it. It must be like Brigadoon, appearing every so often, usually when a new photo is required for their website. In all fairness though, EVERYTHING at the hotel was under construction, so perhaps the lobby bar was being refurbished too. The rooms are just that, rooms. There is nothing special, classy, or cool about them. To me, the hotel looks like a prison from the outside, and the rooms only served to confirm that impression. I'm sure the room was clean and free from "insects", but I couldn't help but itch all night. When walking around the halls of the hotel, you will hear a cacophony of languages, which is cool. You will also be assaulted by a cacophony of smells, which is not cool. One of the odors that continually filled my nostrils was cigarette smoke, which despite being prohibited, was ever-present. The hotel restaurant was reminiscent of a refugee camp.
It is almost a prison more k an airport. Security checks. They are almost like another scale. You can be there all day and not see it whole.

Major airports are BIG, and MIA is no exception. Getting almost anywhere will take some walking, and may also require a train ride, possibly a couple of train rides. The signage between your points A and B will likely be well presented and very helpful. There is food almost everywhere along the way as well as a range of shops. Terminal D had a great Cuban restaurant if you find yourself hungry and in that area, and there is not one of the many restaurants and food vendors that I have tried that I would caution you to stay away from, so feel free to explore. The trains typically run quickly and smoothly. Consult the maps to make sure that you are going to the right and that the train is the best way to go. Give yourself a bit of extra time to navigate if you are not already familiar with MIA.
