Hands down, by FAR the absolute BEST place to stay in South Beach! I loved it so much, I've stayed here TWICE in 2 different weeks and in the SAME month! Will always be my GO-TO spot when visiting Miami! Staff and rooms are AMAZING and will definitely give you an authentic SOBE experience! Can't wait to return! Thanks for an amazing experience!

The staff was awesome and we had a great experiwnce there. The whole place has amazing historic character which they are maintaining and improving So much better than the cookie cutter chains. If we ever return, qe will be staying there again.

This hotel is very run down. You can tell it was redone years ago. The rooms are tiny and you cannot put luggage out. The bathroom doors are see-through and so there is no privacy what so ever. The AC splatters water out and it sounds like it’s raining all night. The drains don’t drain so the sink and tub take forever for next person to shower or brush teeth. The breakfast is only rolls (molded), oatmeal, yogurt. No hot buffet like on website (maybe due to Covid). It just feels dingy and dirty. Website said they could offer complimentary hot breakfast in its restaurant downstairs. We called and they said they no longer do that. We did enjoy the complimentary beach chair and towel. Service is very nice and helpful. The lobby is decorated super cute. Overall — gross hotel and we will not come back. The website pictures are not what you see upon arrival and the website amenities “are no longer offered”. Also — the crowd that is on south beach is very unsafe. There is weed smoking everywhere and cops on every corner. The crime rate has heightened over the last 2 years and you feel very unsafe at night. North Miami, downtown Miami or Wynward District seem to be more family oriented.

Loved everything about it except for the broken shower head and the Wi-Fi. They fixed the shower head but the Wi-Fi is what I disliked the most. Horrible service all weekend I was there but overall I like the hotel and everything else it comes with.

My first time in Miami… I could not have picked a better place to stay… THE ENTIRE STAFF WAS AMAZING.

We had a great time for our first trip to South Beach. Staff was helpful and so nice. The hotel is amazing and so much history for any Scarface fans We will definitely be going back and bringing family and friends.

Excellent food. Its pricey as is all of south beach ocean drive, but the crab and shrimp dip is excellent. On ocean drive they always include 20% tip so look at your check. We came here twice so I will be back.

A Nespresso machine in the room is unexpected for Swiss visitors, bathrobes in the bathrooms, sleepers, … a lot of amenities and a fully loaded mini bar available.
All the service, the added values and specially the team will make your stay unforgettable and make you forget that the room is small, the bath room too and the fact that it is an old property. Reasonable price.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! Location is great. Right across the street from the beach. Walking distance to everything on South Beach. Very clean rooms. Beds very comfortable.
There is one negative thing I must comment on. The air condition units are located right above the outdoor seating area on the second floor. They drip water continuously on that area. A simple hose attachment to each unit would solve the problem!

My family and I had such an amazing stay at the Beacon South Beach Hotel! We absolutely loved how close we were to the Beach and loved happy hour as well the breakfast was delicious! Lastely, the hotel staff was so incredibly accommodating to all our needs! We definitely will be back!

Excellent place beautiful people and service!

Right as we walked in we have someone carry our luggage inside for us. Nicest people ever and very professional with their job. Everything is clean and even got a call to make sure everything was okay! Would highly recommend this place based off how nice, helpful, and the cleanliness to this place. These people do a great job.

Absolutely great place to stay lively area, I loved everything from the time I checked in to the time I left, had a problem with my air conditioning after check in and I must say they took care of my accommodations and made it perfect plus AWESOME views from my rm.

Polite and very respectful waiters. Narika at front desk was very helpful and friendly service. Excellent location. Breakfast was good.

Great location across from the beach, with a full restaurant on the main lobby floor. You definitely feel the heart of Miami being here. Spent the weekend here and loved it. Fun fact: Scarface was filmed next door, which is now a CVS. Would have gave 5 stars, except they were trying to repaint the hallway with guest there.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is great. The beach chairs are the best (backpack style). The free breakfast overlooking Ocean Drive was a nice way to start the day. It's an older hotel, but you already knew that. The staff was awesome too! We loved it.

First time in Miami and staying at the beacon, it was a great experience! Day shift employees were nice but the night team was excellent! Andy and Christian were extremely kind and always were very helpful they made our stay at the beacon memorable! We also ate there twice and both times Edgar gave excellent service! Keep up the good work night team, definitely going back and recommending to others!

I love this hotel. My first time in Miami. Perfect location at Ocean Drive across the South Beach and Lummus park. Beautiful room. On the top, Fifth floor, ocean view. Beautiful staff. So kindly. Beautiful inside. Starbucks coffee at the morning. Cold water all day. Just Perfect. Thats About the hotel. 5 stars.
But the restaurant Place, I can't rekomend. I Will give it 3 stars. The staff are not so kind, you can't just sit and enjoy some dessert, icecream. Only if you order drinks or cocktail. But I don't drink alkohol and I am a smoker. I have to sit outside to smoke. (And enjoy the Street) The prices on the menu is high. You have to go trough the restaurant, to get to the main door to the hotel. It will be so nice if it was separated. And there was Some tabels for the hotel guests, that don't belong to the restaurant Place.

Outstanding location, right on Ocean Drive, across the beach and in the middle of Miami. The property is dated, there is a lot of art deco. This hinders a minimum, for example the bathrooms are really small, but at the same time it gives charm. The services are good, if you have chosen with the knowledge of going to a hotel whose main advantage is, precisely, the location. Very good staff. The extraordinary Veronica of the concierge made everything clear with effectiveness and courtesy. Very very welcome, the whole thing.

My friends and I stayed for a week in Miami and we had the best experience at The Beacon Hotel! Everything was clean and we loved the free breakfast. The night manager, Christian and Andy were the best! They were always really helpful. If I could give them 10 stars I would!

Kaja the manager … Rene the bartender who made great drinks and service. Clean small hotel but with the attention and service of a big hotel. Julio the man at the door and desk service were great I'm going back and would recommend to anyone who wants to stay on Ocean drive.

Stayed in room 517 from April 25th for 7 days. The location is perfect if you like a lively area. Staff is very nice and helpful. Very proper room cleaned on a daily base including clean towels and bedsheets. The beds are amazing we slept very well… if we slept at all stay away from the restaurant, it’s outsourced and it’s horrible, for real. We went for breakfast to the Betsy it’s down the road.

If I could give this hotel negative 5 stars I would. I have received nothing but horrible customer service here and they will not apologize for it or take accountability. I left a pair of Celine sunglasses in the room and called before they even cleaned the room and they confirmed they had found the shades I described. Then, I received a pair of cheap shades in the mail. Don't leave anything of value around before you leave or during your stay. Their staff will STEAL IT! and be on their way!

Check In was a breeze! We had a deluxe room double bed no view! The price was ok, extra clean, TV, espresso machine, the staff is amazing, Josue the best bartender, the host from Venezuela, the managers, the German cutie and the amazing waitress from Argentina! The location is great, right on Ocean drive! The only downside is the breakfast! We told the restaurant management that we can not eat the same partly cooked eggs and pork/turkey sausage with baked potatoes every day! To sum up Id highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back!

Very nice cozy and very clean place on the ocean drive. Very convenient access to the night life and to the beach, playground within walking distance. Be ready for small rooms. But with such sunshine and entertaimnent we barely spend time inside.

The location is spectacular in front of the beach and with all the life of Ocean Drive right there. Next door is a CVS pharmacy that sells everything. But the piece we got was bad. Ridiculous shower that wets the entire bathroom floor. All old. Doors that were very hard to open and close. The toilet had no lid — strange because the only shelf was up — we dropped things inside. Conditioned air too noisy to use at night (and stuck to one of the beds) smell of kept or fungus, though if you did not see stains. We were worried about noise at night but there I was positively impressed. No sound outside, just the noise of other guests, which was heard very well through the thin door.

The attention was great from the moment we stepped into the hotel. Marisa treated us with a lot of respect and even checked on us when we arrived to the room to make sure everything was okay with the room. Francisco was very helpfull in taking our bags to our room and the valet people were great. Nancy made sure that we were all set up and ready to go after she took our car. The restaurant is okay, but we are here to have a great time, not to judge the restaurant or their people which are friendly and helpfull.

This hotel was convinent right across from beach. I was not really feeling this end of ocean drive due to the fact that prices were extremely steep and area is very ghetto. Everyone is smoking marijuana everywhere! hotel provided breakfast between 9-11. No pool at hotel and restaurant connect with hotel was mediocre. Beds were comfy, bathroom was tight.

Me and some friends stayed here this weekend … for my birthday and loved it! Location is amazing right on the beach and they have breakfast in the morning … also they have food food down stairs and a lot of happy hours for massive drinks that make your stay even better … the staff is awesome always so sweet! I had a few things that I needed and they were so nice about assiting me and just so genuine … I would say just be aware that the valet is 30 a day and takes awhile to get your car given it’s parked off site … and the rooms were smaller than expected but honestly everything the staff does makes it worth it! I will be staying there again! Everything walking distance! Thanks beacon for a great experience and great vibes and fun decor.

The management was super friendly. Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I traveled with 3 friends and we got a deluxe room knowing the rooms on ocean drive would be a little smaller than what we were use to, but the beach access and culture in the area was worth it!

The views were great but we had an air conditioner leak all over the floor and all over our clothes. We addressed this to the front desk and they only gave us 15% off one night when all of my sisters clothes were soaked. I just don’t think it’s worth the price and I don’t feel like they cared about what had happened. Place doesn’t look like the pictures either. Not worth the price they charge. Wouldn’t stay here again. Disappointing.

Stayed there for three nights. Oceanfront rooms are great with a very good view. Rooms are very small, but in line with the art deco architecture of the building I believe. The breakfast is free but menu choices are limited. All the rooms have beach chair and towel. Room service is regular and good. Just 2-3 minutes walk to the beach through the beach volleyball playground. The restaurant downstairs is very costly but has a great and tasty collection.

Great location right across the south beach. We enjoyed our stay going in and out to beach n close by shopping. Old rooms, may benefit from some maintenance. Breakfast average. Nice drinks. Decent amenities. No pool.

Very small bathroom, you can access it one at a time because there is no room for two at least that the other is not in the shower. The room was not very clean and even the daily cleaning left very perplexed (sink still dirty with toothpaste). If you like the decò style there you will find it again there is very little. Walls and door frames have a visibly retro layer of paint and paint.

Okay just stumbled upon this place and it was fantastic. The menu was great the food was good and the absolutely massive Margaritas should not be missed. After we tour the inside and saw the prices for rooms it's definitely a place we want to come back to. Take a moment and look around.

The location of this hotel is excellent on top of free breakfast and beach chairs available in the room. But these are just a fraction of factors of me giving this hotel 5 stars. What makes this hotel special is the staff who care a lot about the guest. I have implanted medical devices that need to be charged transdermally. However the recharger was malfunctioning and needed to be reset. It requires a small flathead screw driver to access the reset hole and a pin to poke the …reset hole. When I asked for them, The staff, Francisco, first looked for the screw driver inside the tools chest but the only flathead screw drivers were big ones. At this point, he could have said "sorry sir, but we do not have what you need", but NO! He did not give up there. He lead me to another room where a remodeling worker was working and asked if he has it. He had the screw driver with the interchangeable head. That did the job to open the cover to access the reset hole. As for the pin, I was asking if he has a paperclip but he did not. He stopped one of the maid staff and asked if he can borrow her earing! What a creative solution it was! And yup, with that, I could reset the recharger. He not only went above and beyond but he also came up with a very creative solution! I cannot thank him enough! Clean and friendly staff. Breakfast was very snaps. Not the taste Argento the breakfast as only eggs and sausages with coffee and a very artificial juice.

This is the 2nd tine I have stayed at the Beacon Hotel. Just like before the service is great. Rooms are very clean, and staff very friendly. If you can request the 2nd floor room next to the open outdoor seating area, definitely request it. The srating there is great. Perfect for relaxation at night before going to bed.

Good location The restaurant has a small but very well prepared card. The rooms are not big but they are comfortable and very clean.

Excellent place to have a good Margarita or a Piña colada… the food is good but do not have a defined specialty has a very varied menu, there is a bit of everything and that maybe removes exclusivity.

They told us the two for one special was per person after we got our drinks. It was shady sales tactics with bad service and on top of all that they forced a 20% service charge. There are nicer bars along the strip to visit.

Very small and uncomfortable rooms with very small bathroom. Dirty bed linen. Very old building. Very poor Breakfast. Almost $200 a night for a nightmare. Just a horrible experience at Miami Beach. Trying to request my money back. Do not want to come back never again. I did send an email requesting my money back but there was no answers at all.

Very clean hotel with bar and restaurant. Very comfortable bedding, room equipped with a safe and a fridge with TV of course. Ideal for those looking for a lively place in the evening and near the beach. If the atmosphere is at the party on the terrace in front of the establishment, the hallways and rooms are very quiet. The price is correct for the location however, this is not no longer the great luxury. An establishment with quality facilities services is worth in my opinion 30 to 40% cheaper in a less touristy area.

The rooms are nice bigger than most in South Beach. The food is simple and bland no filters. The Chef was very rude with us. We arrived early so the front desk was accommodating by giving some of my group the free bland breakfast. He went crazy acting like he never seen black people eat. He told all of us we could not eat. Shame on you!. Otherwise the Hotel Staff has been real accommodating to us. We booked 40 rooms and no problem. The Restaurant is not associated with the Hotel.

I must say, my wife surprised me with a trip to Miami with a stat at the beacon and it's been a blast. The staff are friendly and the room was pretty cool. I recommend it if you ever visit south beach miami.

Nice Hotel in Ocean dr. Very close to the Beach. Few things they need to improve: 1) Breakfast is free but could have few more items with the amount a customer is paying for a room per night. 2) Valet is expensive $25 per night with unlimited in and out. 3) There is no washer or dryer so if you go the beach and gets cloths wet the only luck you have it to dry it somehow. Staffs are great they will try their level best to accommodate your needs. Special thanks to Lilian as she was very welcoming and accommodated us with all our needs.

They offered Me a plate to eat for $24. And I ordered the plate and a beer. The count was $63. They explained that the beer (Budweiser 1l. ) Cost $25. In other words, beer cost more than the dish.

Beware of the fishbowl melon ball super sized drink. We had the 2 special, and got so drunk before we finished the second one. Ruined our night and next day.

We booked and paid for three persons in total and as we arrived the hotel put us in a one bed room. After we compliant they gave us a ground floor room without window and very loud outside ventilation. The smell in a room was also not nice. Only the location of the hotel is really good but that's what we paid for so I can give only two stars maximum.

Both Hotels on either side were under construction, and that was not disclosed prior to booking. The room was quaint but small. Not bad for what we paid but I wouldnt pay full price.

We booked the deluxe double room for a 3 day stay. Very disappointing experience! Room had two 2 double beds as booked however they were very small. The bathroom had literally 1 square meter of moving space where you could hardly turn yourself around. We didn't use the shower as it was too small and the the sink was so small it was only good to wash your hands. The marner floor was not special and brought a lot of noise from people staying above you moving chairs etc. If we need to say something positive — the hotel staff was very kind and services were good. For the rest a true disappointment!

Location was great. Room was quite small. Didn't love having a glass bathroom door. Free breakfast was great. Some room entrances are in a hot courtyard.

Here it pays the location, the hotel is not beautiful but you are in full ocean drive, friendly staff… decent breakfast, except the orange juice, undrinkable. At the reception Marisa and Julio excellent and super nice. Julio also speaks Italian. Palestrina and free Wi-Fi.

It was a nice time since very very very nice staff the reception was 24h accessible super nice I can only recommend The Beacon Hotel to me and my wife loved it very much thanks again for you nice time.

Perfect location, small room but it is the price to pay to be on Ocean Drive.

I live nearby and went here with a couple friends to watch the Superbowl in the bar. Drinks were somewhat expensive, but what do you expect? They gave us plenty of free nuts. With the elegant old-school furnishings, we felt like a bunch of rich industrialists from the 1800s drunk with power while our workers toiled in the factories. At least I felt that way — I haven't discussed it with the others yet.

The Beacon was a nice hotel, it was right near the beach and on Ocean drive. The scenery at night was beautiful. I enjoyed the free breakfast and the staff was really nice to us. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the beacon and would suggest it to anyone staying in Miami. Be aware that the room aren't that big though. But it's still I nice place.

The Beacon was our knight and shining armor. We had booked a room at the Starlite Hotel a couple of doors down only to find the room was not as pictured, the door wouldn't close properly and they had roaches. We immediately left and went to the Beacon where a few of our friends were staying. They gave us a good rate even though it was last minute and we were given a beautiful, clean and pest-free room. Everyone was nice and very helpful. It's a great hotel to stay at and in the best location! I highly recommend it!

For 6 of the past 7 years my wife and I have stayed multiple nights at the Beacon South Beach Hotel. We always look forward to returning, and can always say we enjoyed every stay we've had. The staff is always friendly and courteous, and they win awards from TripAdvisor every year as well! We look forward to our next time of staying at this charming historic boutique hotel!

Great location, clean room, professional staff, reasonable valet rate, good complimentary coffee and breakfast! (Couldn't figure out how the in room coffee maker works) It was a fabulous stay.

The rooms are small, the bathroom are really small The sink was clogged, the TV was not working, the coffee maker was not working properly. And they serve the breakfast at 9am… not before … which is really late. SO we paid for breakfasts but could not take them as we had a meeting at 9am at downtown miami. Really expensive for the quality of the service.

Stayed at the Beacon in a suite for 5 nights, loved it and loved the location, for anyone who complains about noise just don't stay on Ocean Dr. Simple as that. The location was perfect and the waiters at The Place restaurant were very good to us.

Location, location, location… you're in walking distance of just about everything south beach miami has to offer. With great location often comes some drawbacks: small rooms, not enough outlets and one of the smallest bathrooms I've ever seen! Oh and that smallest bathroom is suppose to be shared by 4 people (2 queen beds). Normally I wouldn't give such a high review for this type of hotel room but the location outweighs the negatives. Two (2) requests to management: 1. More Outlets (please). There's not enough for all guests to charge cell phones and for us females it's nearly impossible to get ready (dry hair, curling irons, etc). 2. Full Length Mirror + more mirrors in general. It's Miami, females like to dress up and it would be helpful to see our outfits before leaving the room. Plus, with such a little bathroom it would be helpful to have more options for to get ready (makeup, hair, etc).

We were there for Christmas and had a GREAT time! The hotel hosted a small get together on Christmas Day which was very nice! The staff was also very nice and professional and did everything possible for us to enjoy our stay! We will definitely return next year for the holidays!

Loooove this hotel! Location is great — in the middle of everything! Rooms are clean and modern. The staff was friendly.

I visit the restaurant with my wife and kids and the food was descent but not worth what we paid. The waitress suggested a combination that will feed two people, we didn't ask for price thinking it would be about $50 for that plate alone (comparing to Red Lobster prices) so we thought that we would get a descent meal with a descent price. The bathroom had no running water and we had to go use the public bathroom about a block away. If you get a suggestion from your waitress for any combination meal, be sure to ask prices first because those prices are way too high ($145.00! ) and to be honest not worth the price. You could feed six people in a different restaurant with what they charge for those combination plates alone. I will never go back to that place again, we felt ripped off, my bill was $274.00 total including a $40.00 tip for a service that wasn't that good, and again no running water on the bathrooms.

If you like space this is not the place for you but it was filled with nuggets of opulence. The staff was wonderful. On the second floor there's an area where you can sit and enjoy the outdoors in a private section making the best use of space, enjoyed the coffee coffee/tea, healthy breakfast selection. I love the fact that they had a beach chair and beach towels for you in your room. As well on the day of check out, they will hold your car until 4 p. M. Which means you can continue enjoying Miami even after the official check out time.

Im enjoying it so far. Greeeat place. Nice staff. Great room. The bathroom door is smooth glass so be careful. All clean and nice. Veeeeery crazy at nights, its in the heart of the parties of south beach, the party almost enter the hotel. So be careful with that too is you are with family and stuff. Great.

Visited the restaurant for dinner and was disappointed. Food was bland. Chicken picata was overcooked although the capper lemon sauce was good. The chicken parmessa was well cooked but lack flavor. Service was ok at best. Would not go bad unless there is nothing else open.

Really great experience and Gus was awesome! So accommodating with our check in and follow ups. We even had a fun competition going on and he loved the idea and discussed putting pictures up on their facebook page. Very service oriented which is what I always look for. Bed was extremely comfortable as well. I would recommend them to my friends and family for sure.

I recently took my family to Miami FL for our annual vacation. Being a proud father of 4 boys I am constantly reminded that each vacation MUST top last years. I take this to heart when deciding a location as well as where to stay once we get there. This years trip took us to sunny Miami at what I feel was the best time of year. When we arrived in town we found that the hotel had valet parking, so finding a safe location fro our vehicle would not be source of stress. I gave my name and was instantly greeted as a guest. The bellhop took all of our luggage curbside and got it to our room while I checked in. While in the lobby I was taken back by the open area as well as the art-deco style the area is famous for. Once in our room (not ocean view) I was happy to see that there was a beautiful view of the rest of the city in addition to the north including the majestic palm trees and some view of the street below. We were given beach towels for all people in the room as well as chairs to relax in while on the beach. I was also happy to see how clean and well kept this historic hotel was. The bathroom was amazingly clean and there was a visible sense of pride that was obviously taken by the staff. Our room had a 35" flat screen TV as well as a king and a full size bed. When going out for our first beach/town walk we were delighted to meet one of the managers who guided us where the best places were to go and where to stay away from.

Wonderful hotel. Had an awesome stay, very clean. The king bed was perfect and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Extremely friendly staff, courteous and very helpful. They even recommended an outstanding restaurant for dinner for us, didn't let us down. Can't wait to come back.

Would definitely stay here again! The staff really goes above and beyond here. We had free valet parking included in our deal that was so convenient and saved us alot of money and free cooked breakfast at the restaurant out front. The chairs and beach towels are also very convenient. The staff offered us bottled water every time we walked in. They also surprised me for my birthday with a bottle of champagne and a card. Location was incredible and the room was nice. I did not see one bug either which was awesome because I hate bugs. Very clean (and I am very picky about hotel cleanliness! ) I do not have one negative thing to say about this place. Can't wait to go back.
