Rooms are very nice. The double queen beds were plenty spacious for the family. Nice bathroom. The pool is under trees and is never clean, but usually had leaves in it always. The fitness center is very compact and hard to do anything except treadmill and elliptical. The Wi-Fi had an issue that required me on the phone with tech support for the hotel… that was awkward.

Breakfast bar had a great selection. That was the best thing about our stay. The moment we walked in our room, we noticed a strong, nasty smell. We brought up the issue to the front desk and they said they'll notify housekeeping. We came back later that day with no change. We mentioned it to front desk again and they apologized and told us there's nothing they can do. No offer to change rooms, no offer for partial refund. Nothing. Our clothes that we never wore now stink like the room. Overall, the stay was okay, but the stench ruined it for me.

The hotel lobby was very clean, and they offered yogurts for snacks after breakfast was up. They always had fresh hot coffee available. The pool and surounding area was clean. The housekeepers were polite with any questions about directions to where the fitness and laundry room was. I had a great time here.

Receptionist was very helpful. This place has a small gym to workout, free continental breakfast in the morning, nice updated room with super cold a/c, and comfy beds too!

Apparently this place isn’t military friendly. Almost positive the lady making my reservation lied to me. When I first called I didn’t tell her I was military until she confirmed availability. I asked for military rates and she mentioned they had a lot of military that weekend and seemed very short. Only took my name and card number no other info so I worried about if it would actually be reserved. I requested email confirmation and she huffed and said she would have to go back through to do that. So apparently you just skipped through that process to begin with I see, I’ll wait. Once I got the email I noticed she only booked me one night and called right back to correct it to 6 nights and suddenly there was not availability. But I was able to book online shortly after for that exact room for those exact dates! So I called back and she didn’t apologize and wasn’t nice and told me now she has negative one inventory! Told her to cancel my reservation and I wanted a manager to call me and she said yes but didn’t take my number. I said don’t you need my number she said no I have it, well no manager called. I Called back later that day and another girl took my info and promised a manager would call me the next day. Here we are the end of day 2 and still no call. Oh but look there’s still availability online.

Tried calling hotel several times to confirm reservations. Was excited and happy about my upcoming vacation… Was met with the rudest, nastiest person EVER! HIS NAME IS ANDY… and he is way too busy to take calls… and just transfers you… and when I called back to ask him why he transferred me he stated he was wayyyy to busy… keep in mind how he said the word wayyyyyyy… Then he snapishly dismissed me and hung up… ALREADY LOOKING FORWARD to a much need vacation for two very hardworking professionals. Sigh.

The lobby smelled amazing, nice ambiance set by light fixtures and music. Desk attendant was average. Rooms were fine.

Should be NO STARS but thats all you can do on Google. My experience doesnt even involve getting to the hotel. I received a phone call from Mrs. Allvarez (sp? ) saying I needed a job code for a my rate I booked under. Needless to say the proper identification has ALWAYS been appropriate for my stays at an IHG establishment. She said that was NOT the case. I asked to speak with someone else and she said I could speak to the GM. Well she said maybe call tomorrow and talk to him. I asked why cant you just transfer me to his or her voicemail. Well then she did. Guess what… Voicemail full and it doesnt even identify whom you are going to leave a voicemail for. I called back and Mrs. Allvarez answered the phone. I asked whom the GM was seeing the voicemail was full. She explained it was a Mr. Patel. I asked Mrs. Allvarez what her position was and she said Front desk… well that was found not to be entirely true. She is… hold for this "Director of Sales". OMG… never would have gotten thought out of the conversation with her. She doesnt know her title and definitely doesnt know how to sell anything. So I can see where this establishment has no care in the world for its guests. I cancelled my reservation then and there. On a POSITIVE note I did speak with Amanda… The Front Desk Manager. She is very personable and a delight to speak with. I hope she expands her horizons and moves on to an establishment where her hard work and dedication will be noticed.

Horrible breakfast. Room had leaky window. View was someone's yard full of trash and 5 dog kennels. But yeah if u want a semi clean hot tub and garbage hard biscuits and old eggs stay here.

Jennifer was such a pleasure. It was so nice to be greeted immediately with such a warm and welcoming smile. Also thanks for the great restaurant recommendation.

Room was clean and big. Bed comfortable. Tv could be bigger. Only downside was water pressure was not so good.

Good location. You will have to drive or uber to Atlantic beach.

This is the nicest pet friendly hotel we have ever stayed. Ellen was working the front desk, she did an amazing job helping us get our room booked and over all just very nice and friendly! Highly recommend this hotel!

Clean room and lobby. The grounds where well kept. Parking lot had plenty of security lights. The breakfast was good. I would recommend staying here.

Not very impressed for a holiday inn express, in a bad part of town with a residential home right next to hotel. The room was okay had jetted tub right nest to bed, but had to get out of tub everyone times switch the ed off to reset. Breakfast is all instant and or frozen stuff that is heated up in microwave.

Room was nice. Water had a sewage smell to it but it wasn't intolerable. Front desk service was curt and efficient.

Clean room with comfortable bed. Breakfast could have been better but good enough. Noise is a bit of a problem. I suggest leaving the A. C. Fan on to drown out the noise from others.

The rooms were very clean, the hotel was quiet, and there was a great selection for breakfast. Also, shout out to whoever decided to buy "clean remotes" for each room. We loved our stay.

Holiday inn is my favorite place to stay when I come in from working on a boat, however last night I recieved the worst treatment imaginable as a constantly returning guest. I travel with my dog and most of the employees treat her with the greatest respect (another plus) however last night my dog wasnt even allowed inside the building. When hearing there wasnt rooms available and looking for a place to go at 11pm, the receptionist constantly bullied and harassed me over my dog adding stress to an already stressful situation. She claimed my dog would bite people but then wanted me to pass her off to one of the guests outside so I could get my things from inside the building. I told her I wasnt passing her off to a stranger and started recording… her attitude didnt change. She told me I wasnt a guest and was forcing me to leave when I had done absolutely nothing wrong but try to find a place to go. I write this as a warning to future guests, this lady is one of the most selfish, rudest people ive ever met. Yes me and my dog will be returning to this hotel but I will refuse to step inside if I see her at that desk. I will not put myself or my dog in that uncomfortable situation ever again and if you love your dog you will not take this warning lightly. For the record during this whole situation my dog remained on her best behavior and gave this woman no reason to believe she had any sort of an agressive nature.

Clean, organized, modern. This hotel appears new. It is close to plenty of restaurants and shops — within 1 to 3 miles to Hanna State park is less than 5 miles. Neptune Beach is about 6 — 7 miles. I'd stay here again because of location, but mainly bc the hotel is so clean and new.

Very clean and comfortable king size bed and room. The lady who checked us in was very helpful and kind. We had to find a place to stay at the last minute, so this was a big relief to find a nice place. Had to pay a lot for 1 night but it was worth a good night's rest. Thank you.

Nice and clean, with a breakfast selection available. It's not gourmet of course, pretty much what you'd expect. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful with questions about the surrounding area.

Ok, let me begin with check-in, Amanda was very friendly and checked us in quickly. There is a Pet Fee of $25.00 per pet, per night so be prepared. When we got to our room we were shocked to find out that we were in an ADA room which has a tiled floor bathroom that is part of the shower along with a chair in the shower. I think this is awesome for someone that is disabled and I applaud the efforts but everything in the room is set up for such and we did not need it. I called the front desk and asked if we could go to another room but was told by Amanda that they were booked to capacity. OK, so we went ahead and unpacked. Meanwhile, my little dog went under the bed and came out chewing a used bandage (gross) … I then checked under each bed and to my disgust found a bloody stained towel… TOTALLY DISGUSTING… so here we are stuck in a room that by now I am convinced did not receive a thorough cleaning! I called the front desk and told them about the problems and Amanda said she would contact the GM as to what could be done. A few minutes later, Amanda called back and said that they worked through the system and found a room (what? ) king bed would be like to move… I said ABSOLUTELY… so we packed up all our belongings and moved to the new room which was satisfactory.

I had 4 silver fishes in my bathtub! All alive. Guess what the front desk girl told me?!?! I'll let maintenance know, sorry. Are you freaking kidding me? I shouldn't have to shower with insects! They're worse then spiders! Front desk called me later, said she spoke with manager and asked if I wanted to move. Are you freaking nuts?! It's LATE! I traveled 19 hour's and you want me to pack everything I unpacked up and smooth my crappy stay with a jacuzzi room? Horrible customer service. I took photos of the silver fishes. I even left housekeeping 1 of them dead in a napkin. Under my sofa chair, it was dirty, not vacuumed. Coffee taste like crap and coffee maker takes FOREVER to be done! Will NOT stay here again. I have spread my horrible stay. Fyi — when you work in hotel management for many year's and travel a lot, WE look! We also tell everyone.

The check-in and check-out process was very simple and fast. The room was clean and had all the enmities that I would require for a brief stay. The bed, pillows, blankets were extremely comforting. I wasn't satisfied with the harness of the bath towels or the flackiness of the toilet paper.

We were there for our sons deployment homecoming. The staff treated us like royalty. Alicia in particular could not do enough for us. If every business had an "Alicia", no one would ever have customer service issues… she is fabulous.

MILITARY BEWARE! I made a reservation at this hotel on the 17JUNE2015 at 1251 for orders to the 2M school. When my orders were changed I called on the 25JUNE2015 at 1832 to cancel my reservation. Today (07JULY15) I received a call asking if I was still coming to the hotel to which I spoke to Mr. Neil informing him that I had already canceled the appointment at the previous date. To which he said that it is not his problem that his employees failed to do their job and cancel the appointment. I was also informed at that time that I had never before made an appointment to stay at this establishment, which I had done on 30APRIL15. So with that said, I am again forced against my will to pay 78 dollars to a hotel company. Which is pretty much robbery. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. This establishment only gets a one star because there are no lower rankings. Respectfully, FC2 (SW) Hankins.

Great, clean, quiet rooms. Free hot breakfast with all the niceties including real brewed coffee — not that instant stuff other places serve. The pool is nice and clean. The staff here are so nice — even the maintenance men. Went above and beyond when the Navy Lodge dishonored our reservation. Holiday Inn staff made the extra effort when we needed a stay extension and even made it possible to keep the same room, even though they were filled to capacity. AND they were cool with our two larger dogs. Love this place.

The rooms were modern and clean as this is a newer hotel. The staff is courteous enough. For the average vacationer this is enough. However, in a location where decent hotel rooms can be found 20-30 dollars a night cheaper, it would be a good idea to look around, unless you just have to be near the Naval Station. For a business traveler, or travelers that need to keep up with on line classes, staying here is problematic. The hotel advertises high speed internet, but the speed and bandwidth are so poor, you can't even watch a Utube video without it constantly stopping to buffer. My online school site often times out before I can log on. The hotel also advertises free breakfast. There are always plenty of leftovers since except for the toast, it tends to be unpalatable. Yesterday they even put completely green bananas out for breakfast. To summarize, if you have a function at the Naval Station to attend and need a place for a night or two, this is a decent place, if not a great value. If you need a place with better amenities for your job or personal business, or for longer stays, there are much better choices not far from here.

Nice rooms, breakfast, and pool; just not close to the beach (like advertised).

I found the hotel pretty nice (though I have otherwise been stuck in bad places lately). It smelled clean, lobby and rooms, almost like fresh paint. I also left my laptop cord there and, even though I had to pay the postage to have it mailed to me, I can see on my credit card bill that they went through the trouble to go to a UPS store right after I called to have it mailed. I'm not sure if I'll end up there for pleasure, just considering the location, but when I have business in the area I will definitely stay there.

Worst hotel experience ever. Lady at check in was very rude to my family. We didn't feel welcome at all. If traveling with kids do not stay in this hotel. Swimming pool was gross looked like hadn't been clean in years. Won't ever stay again.

You have to travel bout 2 miles to get something to eat. And there's nothing to do around there.

First time in Jax and I called into this hotel. The manager Neil. Took very good care of us and gave us AAA++++ treatment. The hotel is amazingly clean and the staff is super professional. Will definetly stay here again.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are really neat. I loved the hot breakfast and the very friendly staff. You can ask them anything and they will respond immediately. I was very pleased with their calm and friendly attitude. L can only recommend this hotel. It is conveniently located: Atlantic Beach, neptune and jacksonville beaches are all within 5 minutes reach. I stayed there with a friend of mine and we both felt very safe and relaxed. It was not loud at all, and due to its small size you feel like home.
