I had to cancel a stay here on July 14 2021, Covid related cancellation. I booked through Expedia and was told I could not get a refund. With all the things going on these days I would have hoped they could have given me my refund.

They must have employees with better attention to the guest, they should consider improving the cleanliness and hygiene of the place, since it is a lack of respect that they spend 4 days and do not change bed linen or towels and much less do cleaning.

Looks nothing like pics! Toilet broke and instead of talking to me, the Adult, maintenance would only talk to “the man” (his words) who was my 15 yr old son! Dirty my feet were black after walking on tile floor. Screens bent would not shut which let no see’ems in. Windows wouldn’t shut bc no cranks. For the price it’s awful! I’ve stayed in marathon for 5 years and I will never stay at this place again!

Great price for staying right in the middle of the Keys. The staff was very accommodating as we had a small RV towing a motorcycle. The room was immaculate except for the floors. Would definitely stay again.

Great pool. Rooms are immaculate. Friendly front desk. Will be back.

The “manager “ was very unprofessional and extremely rude! On top of racially profiling my family she decides to throw out 11 cabins full of people and kids @ 7 pm all because a drunk man that lives in the back house claims that he was hit by a shirtless man but could not identify him! The manager proceeded in a rudely manner to tell everyone that we had to leave after we told her that we have nothing to do with whoever started the problem! I kindly asked her multiple times if we can get a refund on the remaining nights that we had rented and she rudely replied that we have to leave before we get arrested she is not going to give any money back! I then proceeded to tell her to give me a paper stating the situation, and she kept threatening me and my family with the police! This lady who claims to be the manager did not care that we had children with us she did not care that my family was out on the boat! This is ridicules! I truly hope the owner of this establishment takes measures with this lady because In no way did she try to be reasonable or try to return our money! She stole our money!

This is honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had here they would treat you like garbage and would kick you out for other people’s mistakes and wouldn’t refund you nothing making you waste money and would threaten to arrest you.

We absoloutely love this place we go there anytime we can get away for a weekend everyone is very nice and helpful.

No frills but a clean, comfortable place to lay your head. If your plan is to spend all your days INSIDE, you’re doing the Keys all wrong!

Staff was very friendly and help. Room very clean and comfortable. Our room is right on the dock overlooking the water. We had a screen porch. Just an old style Keys atmosphere all around. Very reasonable rate.

Excellent hotel to stay in. I really enjoyed it.

After the first night, did not receive housekeeping service, had to ask the fellow at the front desk if there was daily housekeeping service. Dead Bugs on the windowsill. Lady at the front desk was seriously pissed off when we politely requested extra blankets and 1 extra pillow. We paid for the upgrade and end up on the second floor over looking a roof.
Otherwise it was ok.

Has boat ramp, a lot to park your trailer and wet slips. Fish cleaning table and free ice for cooler at the dock. Pool has a view of the dock and grilling area. Great family atmosphere at a great price. It's a good place for Florida residents to bring their boat and enjoy the waters and experience of the Keys. Fishing! Diving! Lobstering!

This is the best place to stay while in Marathon, I have been staying here for many years and wouldnt change them for a 5 Star Resort. I Love Kingsail.

Great place to rent in groups. I read the reviews and was a little skeptical at first but the management told me they had just remodeled and made lots of upgrades and took a chance. The place was very clean white bedding that will not hide anything and was as white as could be. I gave it a 3 since is a motel, but definitely a great place to stay. Thanks Laz for your hospitality and the fishing place you recommended was great.

King sail is a wonderful place to stay. The place is very clean and cozy and the pool is also very nice. Definitely recommend it!

We were unfortunately unhappy with our stay. The staff was so nice but we found 2 cockroaches, ants everywhere, 3 inches thick of dust on the ceiling fan, urine stained fitted sheet and blood stained on the other. Our door was rotten and didnt want to open or close. It smelled so strong like bugkiller or cleaning supplies or mildew that it made all of our lungs hurt. We paid almost $350 for our stay unfortunately money we lost. A sign said no music but it was very very loud around the pool often. The dock was pretty.

I didn't do much during my stay besides sleep in their beds, as I was out during the day. The beds are soft, most rooms have a small kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, and microwave. The bathroom is a bit small, but everything works fine, and the pool was beautiful.

The place is nice although it is normal the cleanliness was very good the pool too and has a nice terrace for beers that is typical of each apartment is a good idea to make a stop between Miami and the Keys.

The staff were very friendly the room was awsome plenty of room for myself wife and 2 kids. We checked in on a whim and they were more than willing to work us in for a great room for 3 nights. Boat ramp and docks on site. We will not stay anywhere else unless we have to. Loved it. Only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Hope to be back next summer.

Great little place to stay comfy beds, great staff, quiet and on the water. When we come back we will definately stay again. The pool was clean and warm to swim.

Stayed there a very long time ago but still remember how much fun we had there.

Lazaro Flores took unbelievable care of me. He had coffee with me in the morning and arranged my activities in Key west for the weekend. Rooms were very new looking.

Lovely, clean & spacious rooms. Love the friendly staff and attentive mangement along with stellar amenities including boat dock and relaxing pool. Highly recommend!

I had a reservation scheduled for this memorial day weekend. Unfortunately, I had to cancel due to an unexpected funeral. I spoke with the manager and he was very understanding and waived the fee to cancel due to the circumstances. I look forward to booking with Kingsail in the near future!

We booked a room there for like 90 USD + tax. (Augsut 2017) We didn't except something amazing. When we arrived we thought the outside was pretty cute. When we checked in around 9 p. M, we met an unfriendly lady at the front desk. We were very tired and went to our room. (Parking spot infront of room, which was very nice. Only a few steps to get in the room. ) When we entered the room we were shocked. — Insects on the walls and on the floor. Especially behind the bed. Lamps didn't work. — Broken shutter. People could see in our room. — Dirty bathroom. Strand of hair on the wall in the shower. — Stained bedsheets. — TV dindt work — Dirty fridge and so on. It was really bad… We left the room 10 minutes after arriving (we were very tired and wanted to sleep, but no). We came back around midnight as we had to sleep anyways. The Wi-Fi didnt work anymore. When we arrived we didnt take a shower as it was so dirty… Everything was sticky. We therefore decided to completly dress ourselfs and to put jackets and everything over the bedsheets, so that our body wouldn't touch the sheets. We slept for a few hours (until about 4.30a. M. ) and decided to leave again and check out when coming back from KeyWest. It was definetly the worst place I ever stayed at… NEVER AGAIN!

I been coming to KINGSAIL for the last couple of years, and I must say that I am very excited for all the small changes the ownership is doing (Room decor, color schemes) If you need a hotel in Marathon don’t hesitate to check KINGSAIL out for a unique “Boutique” experience.

Great price, clean rooms, boat ramp, boat docking, pool, close to beachs awesome place. Could use some updates but still well worth the stay.

I wish I could leave zero stars for this place. Me and my friends got a two bedroom suite, not a hotel room with a makeshift suite and one bathroom. Splitting the filthy bathroom with 6 people was long and tedious and anyone that was sleeping in the other room would have to wait for the people in the other room to wake up so they could use the bathroom. Bedsheets had disgusting stains on them and our rooms weren't even ready for us when we got there, taking an extra 45-minutes to 'clean'. The shower was covered in slime and mold and the toilet barely worked. The staff was hesitant to give us anymore towels. We were 6 people and they only gave us 3 towels. When we asked for more, they said "Oh we already gave you guys 3 towels. " Oh so all 6 of us are supposed to share 3 towels? Thats gross. The walls were thin and we could hear our drunk neighbors all night. Front office closed early so we couldn't even ask for anything once it was night. Just stay at a Holiday Inn or at the Bluegreens Resort if you're in Marathon and avoid this place.

Been going there for years really clean and well kept motel, the pool is heated and its great, the lagoon in the back is beautiful, Very nice place to stay and relax for a couple days. Would recommend to anyone. Paradise at its best!

Good place to stay for a night. Swimming Pool was good. AC was noisy. You can get free earthworms & few roaches.

It was a place to rest after a long day exploring. The staff was very friendly & helpful.

This place was horrible! Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. They are very rude and lazy. The rooms are filthy with roaches. And I had to go get my own towels, soap and sheets because they were too lazy to bring them up to me. The beds make so much noise. The sink in the bathroom was clogged. The staff need better attire because they look like they haven't showered in months. They also try to charge you for extra things. Literally can't breath that they want to charge you extra. Never staying here again.

Before I get started, I want to say, I wasn't expecting this hotel to be a Ritz Carlton. But, I do expect my reservation to be right, and for the staff to be polite and not rude to customers. We called the hotel a few min after making the reservation to make sure it was two beds on first level as my sons in a wheelchair. She said we were all set. When we got there, we got key and went to our room that my son couldn't get to, because the walkway was rocky. It also was a king bed only. We went to office to switch and the woman was very rude. Gave us a key to another room which was again a king only. Went back to the office again and she was nothing but rude and argumentative saying we only booked one bed which we didn't and showed her we didn't. She wasn't going to switch us and refund instead leaving us with nowhere to stay, because anything affordable was sold out. She finally gave us a room with two beds after arguing with her for 15 min. We get to the room and there's TWO steps into the room. Not accessible. the staff is a bunch of idiots. The room is nasty. The night stand with lamp has prob never been cleaned. We moved it and its got sticky crusty ring all around lamp base. The blankets and sheets have nasty stains. I also woke up the next morning with BED BUGS! BITES ALL OVER my shoulders, arms, neck and legs. I'm disgusted! I will never stay here again and don't recommend it!

Great for the location, it is on the island of Marathon which is about in the middle of the Keys, from here you can visit all the islands in comfort.
Pretty old motel though well clean.

This was our first time staying here & we absolutely loved it! We were initially going to stay at the "resort" next door but cancelled our reservation do to several problems. And we are glad we did! We loved our room! It was clean & spacious (double bed w/ a kitchen) close to the lovely pool. The docks behind the pool were really awesome for boating, kayaking or any other water fun you want to have. The staff was fantastic! The ladies in housekeeping were great with any needs we may of had. We will definitely be back to this lovely little charming place to enjoy more of the Keys in the future!

That nightmare vacation you read about from others. Yes its old Keys style but room were not cleaned very well. For a 3 bed two room hotel room you would expect towels and wash cloths. Found 3 towels. The best part was the all night balcony party in the building. My room was at the end and the rest of the second floor was together. No sleep for my family. When we mentioned it at check out, several others were in lobby with same complaint. It seems this group had been in the hotel the night before doing the same thing but on duty counter person chose to ignore complaints. (The desk shuts down early). Monroe County Sheriff's Office was seen later believed to remove the group. If you want that Keys experience grab a rum runner and read a good book. Staying here is not the way to do it.

The rooms are simple, airy and have a tropical feel. We have a small kitchenette with our suite and it's perfect. I came here with my husband and 2 daughters and we all love it. The staff is very helpful, polite and resourceful. The room is clean and did not have a run down feel to it. Some reviews on here said the rooms are dirty and out dated, but if your looking for a state of the art hotel, this is not for you. This is a very laid back resort with a pool and dock for boaters and fishermen. I loved everything about it.

I enjoyed my stay this past weekend. I had a medical emergency and was air lifted to Miami. Upon contacting the staff they secured my property until I was able to return 4 days later to collect my property. The resort was cozy. If you want to spend big money then I suggest look elsewhere. I will return and stay again in the future.

Location was great, comfortable accommodations, clean and quiet. We don't spend much time in the room. It worked out well for us as we travelled around.

Front Desk Lady not friendly at all. Very expensive taken the fact that it takes more than an hour to Key West. Rooms are wet, small and not clean at all and look and feel like a garage. Stains all over the sheets. A/C is so loud you can't use it at night. Please do not stay here! Safe your money and sleep in the car.

How this place can call itself a RESORT is beyond my understanding. As soon as we drove into the parking lot, I was afraid we were not going to be happy, but when we actually walked into the room, I could have cried — it was dirty and needed so much work to bring it up to just standard. They had even painted over cobwebs and dirt. We went back and asked if we could please have another room, thinking maybe this was just one that had been neglected, but the second room we looked at was worse than the first — amazing that people actually write good reviews about this place — makes me wonder what their homes look like. Needless to say, we would NEVER stay here again nor would we recommend it to anyone.

This place should be condemned! It is an absolute s**t hole, wouldn't stay here again if you paid me a million dollars. Honestly it's so bad. Where do I start? General cleanliness is less than sub standard, that's possibly to do with the cleaning staff being severely undertrained, I was woken at 7:30am by the cleaning staff having a gossip session right outside my window full volume! every morning, I even asked them if they could keep it down please, that made it worse and they just got louder, ignorant is not an effective description for that attitude.! Here is a list of other complaints: Phone in my room didn't work, no vending machines, A/C unit was covered in black mould (unusable), walls in room were erroded but covered up with cheap paint, ceiling fan was disgusting hadn't been cleaned since the 50s but with lazy cleaning staff I'm not surprised!, the small kithchen in the room also disgusting wouldn't let a rat eat off the surfaces, honestly… So so bad, Been coming to the keys on business for a few years now and I will never stay here again, you'd be better off stayin at a homeless shelter. All the staff and management should be utterly ashamed of their conduct and unprofessionalism, if they even know what that means. In my opinion it should be shut down, knocked down and made into a car park!

I was really impressed with this small, local resort. The room was clean and fresh. The resort strikes me as completely refurbished from a local bungalow-style hodgepodge motel layout. While I was there, (during the week), they were in the process of replacing all the mattresses with brand new ones — so clean!

Bad everything starting with dirt that exist in the room after paying $100 for each night you can not hear music after 9 pm 3-person room a single parking lot in the end do not recommend for holiday.

This hotel is a peace of crap filled with fake reviews.

Very good service since we arrived, everything very clean, I was surprised by the space in the bitacion had everything that I needed. The pool very clean and a visit to beautiful sea. I recommend it and you can come with your family has a lot of space and comfortable.

Girlfriend & I stayed at this place on our last trip to Marathon, Fl, and can honestly this was the worst experience I have ever had in numerous trips to the keys. Motel staff was rude from minute we checked in, motel room was dirty, full of bugs, and falling apart. Towels and bedsheets were stained and falling apart. We definitely do not recommend this place.

It was terrible. Dirty, smelly, terrible service. Red stains on the bed sheets. The fridge and kitchen full of rust. Bathroom dirty. There seriously is no way to describe this place. I feel terrible for whoever gets reeled in to this "resort" with their online website and pictures. First time in my life I've felt obliged to warn the public about anything. This is a great opportunity. Good luck.

The General Manager was very rude. Staff had a hard time checking us in and our card was charged twice. We were told that we would have to wait for our bank to process the credit because they did not charge us twice then she hung up on us. You can stay at the Holiday Inn Express for just about the same cost, and they have a more modern room, a free breakfast, and the food was Great at the Tarpon Grill.

I stayed there for one night and loved it. It isn't a fancy hotel because we were on a budget and this fit our need perfectly. There isn't breakfast or a restaurant on the compound. However it was lovely! We got a room just in front of the marina. The room was clean and spacious enough. There was also a small porch where you can sit and look at the calm water. I thought the bathroom was a bit old, the telephone wasn't working and the ac was noisy, but no big deal. There was however one lady working there who kinda rude. Overall though, I would definitely stay there again!

Top price/performance ratio for the Keys. The rooms are pretty much writing but still clean and very well equipped. The Motel has a very nice location with direct water connection, where you evenings nice end to let can.
