Everything. Anyone with a negative review, either had an isolated experience or don't travel much. This hotel if booked in advance is under $200 a night, in one of the most desirable vacation spots in Florida. We were skeptical, because I haven't been to Key Largo and I'm picky with hotels. We booked last minute tho, so our options were out. When we pulled up, I was trying to stay positive. Looked like your basic business/airport hotel. I was hoping it was just clean at least. Got in to check in, and the woman at the desk was so excited about our stay (it was a surprise for our daughter) and filled us in on all kinds of things to do in the area and handed us towels to get her to the pool as quick as possible. Our room was very functional, a place for everything, modern and clean. Comfortable bed. I would recommend staying on the pool side, and bottom floor maybe if you have kids, would have been nice to sit outside and let her run around. We had a view of the parking lot, but hey, plenty of other views we found. We headed to the pool, and we're shocked, how beautiful the beach was. It's a small private area, great family enviroment. We swam with manatees as the sunset. They have very nice beach furniture, and plenty, and it's a great place to catch a quick swim or lounge and have a cocktail. There is an outside bar, but it's ran by a guy who lives on his boat out there with his parrot, so he is just there as long as people are having drinks. Light pour on mixed, grab a beer from his cooler lol, very island. He has a parrot who co-bartends. Seriously, there's a parrot. We had a great time, met some people, and the pool is salt water, and even though I was hoping for more resort style, it was perfect. The breakfast was great. For a FREE continental, I am not sure what people thought they would get? Lox? Omelet station? Lol A few hot choices, an oatmeal and waffle bar, coffee bar and juice dispenser, among the normal fruit, cereal and pastry selection on most continental breakfasts, I'd say they took care of their guests. Best part about breakfast? Go outside in the parking lot poolside, and bring fruit-preferably banana. One of the best experiences we had. You won't be disappointed! Staff was great, hotel is not a resort so don't expect one-that's really not what key largo is about anyway. It's not a party hotel. There are no resturant or real bars. But if your looking for a top notch HOTEL, that offers a couple priceless experiences, a relaxing beach, at a reasonable price. Take the chance, I am SO glad I did.
