Review of Hampton Inn Key West FL 2*

Close to the ocean, and airport. Free breakfast, Wifi, parking and shuttle To/from airport. Good friendly service at front desk. Buses right n front got you anywhere, and a trolley for pay was a nice experience that also took you around town and the island. Food and Coctails available maybe 11-5 at pool bar, which is setup nicely for the ocean view and any scrap of breeze. Best pina coladas, though expensive. Pool nice and big. Pool closed before dusk just when sun went down, and we were enjoying being there… We were asked to leave on a saturday for painting out there. Also, specials were offered on their web site that they did not honor. And the call in # you were required to call said they knew nothing about it. Why offer them? bait and switch just to charge you full price. The front desk also had this lack of knowledge owhich is all very suspicious on the local and 800 call Numbers and front desk. Except being asked to leave the pool early. Everyone was super nice, and except for this pricing issue, we liked the hotel. It's like a 3, star. Breakfast employees are exceptionally friendly and helpful… Good at their jobs. Rooms are big and spacious. Planes taking off right overhead and super loud. Its hot and stifling without a breeze. The walkway and ocean are across a street, and there is no shade or breeze. We would not return to this hotel or overhyped Key West. It's super expensive for lodging into May. Nothing to do at hotel, no pool or anywhere open it available to sit and relax if you get up in the morning. Nothing closeby. No little tables at the pool by loung chairs. We spent 4 nights this past Tue-Fri nights.
