Honest opinion? Had a great time until we got a call saying we had damaged the cabin we stayed in, and had a dog with us. Dogs aren't allowed in the rooms or on the premises. We knew that so we left our pupper at home with some friends who watched him for the evening. For the record they didn't charge us for damages we didn't do, or the dog we supposedly had. But we did need drive an hour back to prove we didn't damage the room or have a dog with us. And our drive home is already 2 hours… so an hour down, hour back up and then 2 hours back down? 4 hours of our time now wasted, and killed our overnight stay even further. Maintenance was nice enough to show us the damage we supposedly did. A hole, in the wall, which they described as a punch. The "hole" was not there the night we checked in or the morning we checked out. And it was big, so we know we would have noticed it. Especially being over the light switches. We had already notified the staff of issues we encountered during our stay. Namely finding a weird oatmeal like substance in our private bath, and a vaseline handprint in the bedroom we slept in. So why would we not notify them of the hole? Oh and the dog situation? Housekeeping said they found 1 small kibble of food supposedly (trash was gone by the time we got back). And a member of maintenance claims they saw a woman carrying a dog into the room we paid for. But as I previously said we left our dog at home. Plus our dog is 80lbs, so there is no I reason for me to carry him when he can walk himself. All we would have liked is that you as a facility get your story straight, before accusing us of any wrongdoing. Its rude, unprofessional and completely demeaning.
Show us footage, let us talk to the employee (s) that claimed we did wrong. Don't just say the guy who inspected our room before we got there is off today. Well call him, and stop claiming we didn't follow your policies. Don't just say you talked to your gm, bring him out so we can talk to him. Get the full story before you accuse anyone. It also became apparent that they see other types of damages, but fail to report it. Example there was a hole in the wall above the bunk beds, in the cabin we rented, stuffed with aluminum foil. The member of maintenance didn't know anything about that, but the maid says it's been there for a while. So you know about it, but still don't say anything. And again I reiterate there was a nasty handprint on the wall with some sort of vaseline like substance. Not something you want to see by the side of your bed while trying to sleep. So it made us wonder if they knew about that too. So we can truly say we will not be staying there again, and we will tell everyone we know about our experience.
