I wanted a quiet few days away for my 68th birthday. This place is perfect for me. Very affordable and steps away from the tourist shops in Estes. I can be at the gate for RMNP within minutes.

Love this place and the location was perfect. Will be back.

Perfect place for our family with a younger kid! Great rooms with a river steps away, walking distance into town, a pool for the little one, and it was clean, organized and ready for us! Loved it here!

We came for a destination wedding in the Rockies. The staff was very accommodating to our large group. Jenna and Linda were wonderful.

We just visited the lodge last weekend. The views were amazing, the staff was nothing short of incredible, and it made for a very peaceful weekend for my wife and I. If you haven't checked this place out, please go, you will not be disappointed!

Such a peaceful retreat in the mountains! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay so welcome! Walking distance to the cute downtown shops and restaurants in Estes Park. Just a short 3 mile drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. Breakfast was delicious! Thank you for an amazing stay this weekend! Also, you are pretty much guaranteed to see Elk or Deer around the lodge!

Nice location on the river. Clean Room. Sweet Kitchen. Located close to shopping, restaurants. Elk sightings in the evening right next to our room! Continental breakfast was good.

Stayed at the Murphy's river lodge while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. I would describe the rooms as minimalist. Beds were fine but not super comfy. The continental breakfast were Cisco premade pastries, English muffins, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, you get the idea. But really the places is nice due to its proximity to Estes Park downtown and the national park. As long as your trip is focused on that this place is perfect. If you want to hangout in your rooms all day there are probably other options out there.

Recently spent a long weekend at Murphy's River Lodge and really enjoyed it. The room was clean and spacious, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast was perfect for filling us up before a day of hiking. The location can't be beat; it's a 2-3 minute walk into downtown and less than a 10 minute drive into Rocky Mountain National Park. Would absolutely stay again.

We loved it. Our room was right on the river and we could open a window and hear it from the room. The lady at the front desk was so sweet and let us check in early. It is close to town and the park. The most relaxing stay we have had. I don’t want to leave tomorrow.

Beautiful lodge on the river. Staff was very friendly and helpful, even gave us a complimentary bottle opener. Upon entering the room, all the towels and toilet paper roll and even the tissue box were folded into amazing artworks! Loved our 2 night stay, many thanks!

The staff were very friendly and the river side was well maintained and beautiful. We stayed in an upgraded room with a garden tub and river view. The tub was great but the view consisted of a tiny window in the door to the deck. The room felt a bit like an after thought. I’m sure the other rooms beside us had better views. The maid service didn’t come until 3pm which was when we napped between morning and evening activities so we didn’t have our room cleaned, only got fresh towels. I can’t say that we would stay there again.

Me and my wife stayed at Murphy's river lodge as overnight guests. We were at Value Queen river room. It was a smaller room with all the amenities in the room and right on the river. The breakfast was included with our stay and was the usual continental. There are plenty of movie DVDs available at the hotel check in desk. Any number of DVDs can be rented at no cost. There is a player available in the room as well. This was something which me and my wife enjoyed during our stay. Overall — great stay.

This place was wonderful. The room was clean and there were many towels. Cute little patio with table and chairs. I can twit to go again.

Had such an amazing experience here! Very clean and the staff was so friendly. And so close to shops and food that you don't have to drive. Plan on returning!

Great place to stay in Estes. Walking distance to downtown, which is huge since the traffic can get messy. Room and amenities are good. Overall a great value for families traveling to Estes Park.

We stayed here for a night for our 8 year anniversary and let me tell you, the rooms are amazing! We were on the second floor facing mountains and a little river/stream. You can buy $5 duralogs for a soothing fire (which is what we did). It was the middle of April and it did snow a few inches which made this very romantic. The staff are super friendly and offer free movies and free popcorn to enjoy your stay! I would say this was the best hotel to stay in and only a small drive (about 2 minutes) to walk downtown to enjoy all the little shops! Best weekend, best anniversary, and best hotel service by far!

Clean and updated rooms with attention to detail. Front office and staff were all very friendly. Walking distance to Estes downtown. On the less expensive side in terms of room rates, comparative to lodging near by. Continental Breakfast was included and there was a small pool area with a hot tub; both were decent nothing special. Overall, it suited our clean, simple and affordable lodging needs.

Our unit was private, quiet, and cozy. There is a fire pit by the creek out back, an indoor pool and hot tub. The lovely lady that was supervising the breakfast was very nice and welcoming.

We stayed at this Motel and it’s not a place I would stay at again. The one positive is that they are pet friendly (for a fee). We stayed in one of the nicer rooms with a kitchenette and view of the river. It was quite expensive considering how public the view was. We had to keep the drapery closed most of the time as people were often fishing and drinking just outside our room. There was a hallway that must connect the rooms and it created a lot of extra noise from the people upstairs. I thought they had several kids who were jumping off furniture, but was told it was two adults. The staff were all very young and lacked manners. One of the evenings, I asked for a refund after the vending machine ate my dollar, and the staff member treated me like I was insane for bringing it up at all. She made me explain it at least 4 times, and you’d have thought I was asking for a refund on my entire stay. The breakfast has no hot food which was disappointing.

Room was clean and on the river which was nice. But, we were on the first floor and could here all the foot steps above. Plus we could here alot of other noises. Barely got any sleep.

Beautiful place. Nice staff. Sadly pool was closed for the days we were there (main reason why I booked it there) the river “view” wasn’t worth the 10 bucks if you ask me. Maids did towl art therefore you gotta tip.

We recently stayed for one night. The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable. Our room had a jacuzzi tub and more than enough fluffy towels were provided. We had a small deck with table and chairs that faced the river with a beautiful view. We hope we will be able to come back in the summer so we can really enjoy it. The breakfast room is on the second floor which was a struggle for me as I am in need for a knee replacement but it was still not that bad. It was very clean and well stocked. It was well with the stay.

Rooms looked better in pictures and the hot tub was broken. Minimal options for breakfast. Still a good deal for a room if you don't mind the dated carpets and decorations. Great location to the main street.

We had an amazing time at Murphys River Lodge! The location is beautiful. The staff was so kind and our room was very clean. We especially loved the convenience of having the small kitchen area and bunkbeds in our room. Our kids highlight of the whole trip was waking up to the elk right outside of our window. We just can't recommend this place enough!

This hotel was so accommodating! Loved the free popcorn and free movie/board game rentals! They had a great selection of movies! They supplied us with some first aid items and peroxide when needed. The room was clean. The free breakfast was great! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Very cozy room with a Jacuzzi tub, on the river. I had an amazing stay. They were so sweet in the office and had games, movies, and popcorn. When we left they gave us candy and invited us back.

Good location and rooms are clean, huge, well — maintained and updated. The rooms are great for groups with Sofa couch and bunk beds. They have the hot tub and the indoor pool which stays open from 9 am to 9 pm and thats a plus point. Murphy’s provide free continental breakfast from 7 am to 10 am. The only downside is they have very tight parking. Overall, we enjoyed the stay.

Was recommended by visitor center, don't regret it at all. Large, clean, comfortable room. Parking lot is tight, not sure were you'd park if pulling a trailer or camper. Visited in October, windy but sunshine was warm. Continental breakfast was free. Sorry but I don't remember if a hair dryer was available. Did have fridge, microwave, iron, & ironing board. DVD player with movies available in office.

We recently stayed in a vacation rental home offered by Murphy's Lodge. The Clover Lane house was perfect for our family with young children. We loved staying in a neighborhood away from the motel strip, but still a very close drive to downtown. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking and entertaining, and the house was cozy and quiet. Highly recommended!

Amazing staff, Murphy's has a great continental breakfast and a quaint atmosphere. I loved the outdoor seating in the front and by the creek, really relaxing. The fire pit by the creek was very cozy and great for writing by. The cleaning service was spectacular; our room looked like new every time we came back from an adventure. My family and I found the walk from Murphy's to the Estes shops quite enjoyable. The lodge is located in a nice area, there are lodges across the creek (to my knowledge they do not belong to Murphy's). Up the street you can cross over to a paved path winding through the town. There are also several places to sit by the creek and relax. I really enjoyed my stay at Murphy's and I recommend it to all folks!

Clean rooms, great service. Indoor pool 9A-9P. Continental breakfast available. Office has board games and DVDs to "loan out". Walls are a little thin if you have loud neighbors. No pets, designated smoking areas.

The hospitality is wonderful here! This is a quaint lodge with amazing views, extremely close to downtown Estes Park. Our family of 5 stayed in one of the upper rooms, took advantage of the fireplace, and enjoyed free popcorn and DVDs from the office at night after long days of being tourists. Awesome experience. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed in Murphy's River Lodge for 3 nights. The place is great, with an amazing location and extremely nice people. Worth the price! Could use some updating, specifically regarding the lack of usable wall outlets, and could use a more robust continental breakfast.

Nice hotel. Small room but fine for us. Balcony for coffee drinking coffee, but chilly this morning! Loved the sound of the river right behind our room!

We were so very happy with our recent stay at Murphy's. It was the perfect little spot for our family (mom, dad, twin 11 year old girls). We chose a lower river condo and it perfectly suited our needs. King bed and full size pullout sofa. Full kitchen with new appliances and it had all utensils and cookware we needed. We never had issues with cold showers as others have said. Laundry room was convenient. The river was right off our deck and our kids played for hours and fished every inch of the banks. Fell asleep with windows open and the sound of the rushing river. Our unit was close to the road so there was road noise, but nothing that was bothersome and was done by bedtime. Close enough to walk to town (less than 10 min walk to the left) and only a few minutes drive to RMNP (less than 10 min drive to the right). Only very minor cons: bathrooms was dated and bathroom outlet was tricky; parking was tight at night when the lot was full; wish there were hooks for hanging up jackets and backpacks. Would recommend to others and we would return!

Had a great time and really love Estes Park! Downtown is walking distance from Murphy's River Lodge. The stream outback from our room is so peaceful and it's amazing to wake up in the morning to see elk grazing and enjoy our coffee on the deck.

Comfortable convenient location. Elk pass thru the middle of the resort. Rooms are spacious and towels plentiful. Clean quiet rooms. Wolfgang puck coffee in rooms. Would definitely stay again. Ask for a river view room!

Wonderful weekend stay at Murphy's River Lodge. The room was very clean, the pool was warm, and you can't put a price on waking up to the sound of splashing water only yards away. We were able to walk to all of the shops and even walk to dinner at night safely… although we did run into three large elk on the way back. The staff was very friendly. We bought a fire log from them and used our fireplace which was very romantic. I recommend this lodge for couples or families looking for a smaller, rustic, lodge close to the shops.

Excellent rooms, very spacious. Nice indoor pool/hot tub plus you are able to access the outdoor pool at the sister property at the other end of town. Good continental breakfast. Great proximity to downtown and RMNP. Awesome staff, so very friendly and helpful!

Spacious room, easy & plentiful parking, all the amenities we needed/wanted, and above-and-beyond customer service! We will absolutely be coming back!

Rustic and comfortable. Super friendly staff with a great movie and games selection. We had a king upper condo and brought our dog. Many rooms are pet friendly. If you are looking for luxury accommodation, this isn't the place — but if you want a very comfortable place with all the amenities you need then this is it. It's also just a 5 min walk from the main street of shops. We are used to luxurious accommodations like the Fairmont and St. Regis and we found Murphy's to be just fine.

SMH… The neighbors are loud up stairs and down. I can only hear them walking and stomping all night. They discriminate against large families and I've paid less for better else where. It's cold and the kids are tired. So I'll be finding a new place to spend my money after tonight… Not a place for families. Not only could I not park close to my room, because there is no parking and other guests had parked in front of my door… Both times I had returned from being out and about… but My children were so concerned about disturbing the "experience" for our neighbors and other guests. That we didn't actually have a good time. We spent all night shhhshing the children and playing the quiet game… Because, we were told by management… "if other guests complained about "our noise levels" we would be responsible for paying for those rooms if they lost those guests"… WOW… And we're paying for two nights?! So rude. We are paying customers who payed a lot of money to stay and have a "great" experience… We feel we were ripped off… I'm a busy pastry chef, and I've waited a year for this vacation. This was my daughters fifth and my own Birthday and we came up to Estes park. One of my favorite places on earth to be. To visit family whom we hadn't seen in over a year and spend our time and money to support your city… and this business. We were treated rudely, and disrespectfully… No, next time I'm staying else where. But… Hey… The rooms were clean, and large. Kuddos for Great housekeeping!

We've stayed here twice so far and have always been treated very well! The staff is consistently pleasant and seems to care a great deal about customer service which is a complete rarity nowadays. The "above and beyond" factor is clearly present here. And for that reason, I give you not one… but two way up! Thank you!

Excellent, excellent, excellent! This place was just our speed for a vintage lodge-motel. It is close enough to easily walk (for most folks) to all the shops and restaurants downtown, but because it's not directly in the middle of it all, the rates are a little more reasonable. It's an older place that has been updated. The guest rooms have been updated with carpet, tile, curtains, and bedding that will surround you with the modern, contemporary earth-tones most of us expect today. The "lodge" is laid out with a two-story guest room structure that wraps around, in a square fashion, the parking lot while the office building is in the middle. All the buildings have been updated as well with fresh paint in shades of brown. Though updated, we personally enjoyed the sound of walking around on the wood balconies… somewhat creaked a little. Some of the railings were worn smooth. We love an older place. The more history a place can get under its belt, the more character and charm it seems to have. The property backs up to a creek roaring right out of the mountains. Very nice. Get a room at the back of the "square" to have a balcony or patio if you'd like to take advantage of the relaxing sights and sounds of the creek. The staff was very nice. We felt like we were staying with friends. They have a great continental breakfast with cereal, danishes, fruit, bagels, juice, coffee, etc. The set up is cool, too.

Very nice and friendly accomodations. Felt like they really appreciated us being there. Room was clean, beds were very comfortable. Kids loved the river off our back deck, they thought it was THE BEST. Breakfast was simple, well stocked and fresh. Walking distance to the main drag in Estes made getting around easy. Pool closes at 9. Wish it would be open till 10 as it is just hard to get back after doing activities all day in time for the kids to swim.

Rooms were clean (always a plus+) the staff were friendly/accommodating (+) breakfast. Meh. But I'm not a grain lover, easy walking distance to main part of town (+). All around a pleasant stay with a riverside view and a fireplace.

Great place to stay in Estes Park due to Doug, Annette and Rudy. They manage this resort like its a home, they make the visitors feel like family. We stay there every time we go to Estes.

Fancy folded towels. Updated linens. Newish beds and carpeting. Solid furnishings. Even an apt-sized refrigerator and microwave. Rooms are big. Staff is friendly and helpful. A decent continental breakfast. Within easy walking distance of downtown. Very good value for your money here.

The weekend we were there was cold and snowy. Couldn't have been a better setting. The front service was wonderful and the service at breakfast was delightful. Management, Annette and Doug were funny and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this lodge and will go back again and again. Thank you for a great weekend.

We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome we received at Murphy's River Lodge. While enjoying the many activities and points of interest in and around Estes Park, we could always count on relaxing in the hot tub and indoor heated pool, in contrast to travelers staying elsewhere who commented on having an outdoor hotel pool that was too cold to use. The room was newly refinished with an orange peel paint treatment, appropriate accessories including tasteful decor and window treatments, a fabulous mattress and bedding; refrigerator/freezer/microwave; free DVDs; HDTV; and a staff that was welcoming and accommodating for all of our needs. The river walk ran behind our hotel allowing us to easily stroll to the shopping and dining district without traffic. We could also stand at the office and ride a free shuttle or trolley to any destination one might want; yet walking to town is a minimal and pleasant stroll. There is really no need to drive anywhere in town and parking is ample at Murphy's River Lodge. The coolest touches included multiple well-populated humming bird feeders; local wildlife along the river walk; grills for preparing your own meals; and an outdoor stove for evening gatherings beside a log fireplace. Outdoor entertainment in a nearby amphitheater is easily reached on foot. I will definitely return to, and recommend Murphy's River Lodge.

The best thing about Murphy's is the staff. They exude this genuine sense of care that you don't get many other places. They really want to help you because that's how they are as people, not because of any corporate customer service policy. Our one sour note was that the cleaning staff left the window open and heat off in our room. When we got in it was ~40 degrees F, and the rooms take forever to heat up with the hot water heaters. Other than that. Good: within walking distance of the main drag, free DVD collection, decent breakfast for being continental Bad: The main windows in the non-riverside rooms face the walkway. So everyone else walking to their rooms can just look in and make eye contact. It's kind of awkward.

We have spent our last two anniversaries here at Murphy's River Lodge. Stayed in the same room both years. (The one with the Garden Tub, if it's available I strongly recommend this room! ) We go in the off season and the service is amazing. Wonderful continental breakfast in the morning, including fresh fruit, yogurt, a variety cereal, bagels, english muffins, a variety of pastries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice, milk, and hard boiled eggs. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. The indoor pool and hot tub are open year round from 9am to 9pm. We had more towels in our room than we knew what to do with. Those at the front desk are very friendly and we were able to check in early without any problems. :) We love that this lodge is so close to the downtown Estes Park. We arrive in Estes, park at the lodge and don't use the car again until we're ready to leave.
