My fiance and I found this place on a whim. We got there and it was like they already were expecting us. We were met with smiles walking into the door. We only started one night but they had all kinds of things for you to do. Board games, bikes, balls, movies, a pool and that night they had a cowboy singing by the camp fire. The rooms were clean and cozy with air conditioning. Plus a HUGE jetted bathtub in our room. It was great. Thank you for letting us enjoy our evening.

Decent motel style place. Very friendly and helpful staff. We liked the centrally located pool. Room was clean and comfy. Ours overlooked a nice lake, but there was construction that kind of ruined the view. It was a decent experience.

We loved this place. Friendly and most helpful staff. Nice clean rooms with plenty to do or you can just kick back and relax after a long day of exploring the area. My wife and I both commented that we would like to return sometime with our grandkids. Only one hitch… the Jacuzzi was out of order while we were there, but was really no big deal. Thanks for a great time.

This has been the absolute worst night of sleep I have ever had. The bed is horrible and the pillows feel like bags of straw. They all need replaced. Might be the original bed from this places glory days. There is only one air conditioner in this two room “suite”. I would have opened the window, however the screen didn’t fit and I didn’t want a room full of bugs. First world problem, the Wi-Fi sucks. It’s a complex system of restarting, forgetting networks, blah blah blah. Wouldn’t have cared if I could have slept all night. It did connect but nothing works. The decor is 15 pictures of Marilyn Monroe. Again, probably from the glory days. Would I stay here again? Only if it was freezing outside and didn’t want to waste the gas keeping the inside of my truck warm. Although it would probably be cheaper than what we payed here.

Fantastic room. Gorgeous furniture. Amazingly clean. Loved the tissues folded like flowers! Great pool and hot tub. I would have stolen the housekeepers and taken them home to our resort business if I could have.

Nice stay in a hotel in Estes Park. Close to Rocky mountain national park. The beds are comfortable but if you're sleeping with another person you can kind of feel them moving. But, the hotel is very clean and comfortable. Not noisy. They serve Continental breakfast. They also have board games and paint night and a bonfire at night.

Location is great, staff is very friendly and willing to do whatever nessecary to ensure you enjoy your stay. There is construction going on so kind of a bummer that views arent 100% right now. Pool/hot tub need some TLC as there are many cracks and paint is chipping. Should probably paint steps into pool a different color because being that it is the same color as the bottom on the pool, you stub your toe on the bottom step very easy. Room bathrooms need a little updating but bed is comfy and once construction is done views will be amazing again. Grounds are great especially if you have kids with you.

I would return in a heartbeat! Clean and spacious room, comfortable bed, great location. The extra touches are what made our visit special. Free DVD and board game rentals, firepits and firewood, a bottle of water at checkout. They also set the bar high for customer service at a hotel. As we pulled out after checking out, my entire family was talking about the positive experience we had.

Was our 2nd time staying here in a year. The people that work here are incredibly nice and there's so many things to do. They have movies and board games you can check out that's a lot of fun. We stayed in the same room as last time, but we loved it both times.

Our room was very clean, the bed very comfortable, and had recently been updated, painted with new carpets, bathroom and furniture. Very friendly staff and the young man who helped out with breakfast, was very polite, respectful and helpful, hope he gets tipped more often. Thank you, we had a great time and would love to return in the future.

The customer service from Bruce and Loretta at Murphy's Resort was out of this world. I came in looking for a place to stay very last-minute and they were happy to work with me and my situation. I ended up in a beautiful little house that was more than comfortable. I was in a difficult situation and they were able to accommodate me and my dogs for the week I was in Estes Park. Their lodging by the lake is very lovely, and it was a very short distance to the boardwalk around Lake Estes. Saw elk almost every day and just an overall stunning place to stay. I will be back for sure.

You get what you pay for. We got this hotel for one night for about $70 and it was a nice place to lay our heads after long days. If you are expecting to stay in the lap of luxury for that price, you're being unreasonable. Bed shower two sinks and a tiny TV. Heater worked great, and had a great view of the mountains just over the small construction site behind the building. Breakfast is a joke, but there's enough really good places in town. Mountain home cafe being my fav.

Nice views depending on the room you get. Ask for a room in the 200s so you can look at the lake. Looks like they are making a lot of updates to the grounds. 2 playgrounds for kids, picnic tables, hot tub (only 18+ allowed in), pool, and firepit. Rooms have mini fridge and microwaves and some have fireplaces. The overall decor of the rooms is pretty dated and the beds aren't super comfortable. Free continental breakfast is nice and they have DVDs and games you can take to your room.

Amazing place and a bargain value! The room was clean, much larger than expected, and had everything we needed and more. The location is great, staff was friendly, and we will absolutely stay here again.

Great location near the mountain shop! A perfect place to rest up after adventures in the mountain. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and overall had a great stay. The complementary breakfast was a nice touch too!

Nice little place. I love the view and the room is nice. Once we got here we found more places just down the road for half the price. Not sure how nice they are. Staff has been very friendly. 4 stars and not five because the bathtub had dirt in it and the main light in the bathroom was out. I think a little pricy but overall nice place. Update: after spending 2 nights there and not having hot water for showers I have to knock down one more star.

We went for a family reunion (May 2017) and it was wonderful. There were so many things for everyone to do. So close to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park shopping. Murphy's has playgrounds for kids, bikes to use, swimming pool, and board games to play. I'm voting for this place for our next reunion. Great place to go.

Awesome place to stay in Estes! The Resort is a bit older but they have done a great job keeping it sparkling clean and updated. We stayed over New Year's and we're definitely going to stay again this summer!

Great place for a great price! My husband and I love staying there. They have a small simple breakfast, but it's more than just cereal so that's nice. They also have movies to borrow and a small bar inside.

Very nice for the price we paid. Fairly up to date but still has an older, rustic feel. Plenty of space. Super friendly staff. They even have free DVD's to borrow and a player in each room. Don't forget to grab a complementary bag of popcorn for your movie. A few negatives that warrant a missing star (we honestly give it 4.5 if we could, based on the price we paid) : The water pressure and hot water temperature are reliant on your neighbors not flushing the toilet or taking a shower themselves. The breakfast in just fair. Again for the price we paid we can't complain too much. The hot tube was HUGE but lacked pressure for all the jets to work properly. The wife and I were alone so we could just pick one of the few jets that were working.

The resort is at outskirts of Estes Park. The rooms are nice and cozy but ceiling is a bit low. The photos available online look photoshopped as the actual room is not that bright. Positives — 1. Parking is right in front of the room. 2. They provide free cycles to have a ride to nearby lake and areas. That is good option to spend sometime on a nice day. 3. Pool was good and they have nice breakfast. Negative — Washroom was small in size.

My girlfriend and her daughter stayed here and it is absolutely amazing! The staff are super friendly and very pet friendly. Nice area for pets and endless activities for the family! I highly recommend staying here, you won't regret it! I will be back as soon as I can!

Murphy's Resort has nice beds and larger rooms than most places with many accommodations. The staff was helpful as they immediately replaced an old DVD player that wasn't working. The housekeeping crew was super helpful and nice. You will get your money's worth with these clean rooms and great mountain views. They have many amenities on site along with elk strolling the premises. It was quiet as the rooms are built well with no overt noise unlike so many other places. I was quite pleased with the stay here and would highly recommend.

We stayed in their house on Clover Lane. It was beautiful and close to the quaint shops downtown. It was newly remodeled, very clean! Only thing that would make it more perfect would be a fireplace, but we really enjoyed it! It's big enough for 8-10 people.

It was a beautiful home. Staff was fantastic. They had free popcorn and video rentals, and a bunch of bored games. We will definitely come back to stay.

Nice location, friendly staff. Room was basic at best, but the family room was nice for a family of 4. Kids loved having their own space. Hot tub is inside, not out under the stars which was a bit disappointing. Breakfast was so-so at best. Booking I thought we had a king, but it's a queen… read the small print and it says bed size may vary. For the price, it's a place I'd return to.

From the outside Murphy's Resort appears like any other motel in the area; however, when you step inside you'll see it's not like any other. From the friendly and helpful staff to the beautifully updated rooms, this place does not disappoint. It's central location to Estes and the mountain views make it a great location. During our stay, we enjoyed using their bikes, and taking advantage of everything from the swimming pool to the great continental breakfast. We'll definitely make this a regular place to stay when in Estes!

Fine option for the area. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room is quite basic. So is breakfast. The hotel does offer free DVD rental and bike rental. Hot tub and swimming pool are fun. So is the on-duty musician.

Great location Great view of Lake Estes for our room. Comfortable and well equipped. The pool is outside and sometimes it is a bit fresh and better not to fall on a horde of unleashed kids as was the case for me!

Great place that's kind of between camping and a hotel. It is close to Rocky Mountain National Park and is in a bit of a small tourist catering town. The resort has campfire pits, grills, a pool, hot tub, horse shoe pits, and other yard games so there is plenty of stuff to do after you get done with a hike etc and just want to relax in the evening with kids etc. I brought my daughter and it was somewhat like camping in that there were other kids running around at night playing games etc. So great spot if you have kids but also want a room with a bed not far from the Rockies. View of the mountains from outside our door. Apparently the elk are very used to people around this area because we saw two males about 50 ft from us in the grass when we stayed here.

Our group ended up staying at Murphy's for a week in 2 of their rental houses (Lake View and Summit View). It was a fantastic choice. The kids had lots of activities to do around the property, the adults could relax and do all of the necessary things while traveling with a large group (laundry, cooking, etc. ), and it had a great location. Everyone in the front office was super friendly and helpful for every little ask that we had. Highly recommend, especially the rental houses — they are a great deal!

Clean, clean, clean! Older but nicely renovated place with nice size rooms and comfy beds. Just outside of town and quiet. Good, well attended to Continental breakfast. Grills if you wanna cook. Wood for campfire, and indoor and outdoor games. Even bikes to ride. We got good pricing mid-week and they sold out after we booked.

The rooms are clean and the workers are very friendly.

Spent two nights and wish it could have been longer. Our room was large and very clean. It appears that things have been renovated recently. I don't have kids but if I did this would be the place to go. There were many extras that we were not aware when we booked the room. There are multiple pavilions with new gas grills that are open to guests also they have a fleet of new bicycles that any guest can check out for free. We had a good experience with everyone that works there, very friendly and helpful. I make a trip at least once a year to Estes and will definitely stay at Murphys again if I can get a room. Additionally I paid for two nights what one night at the Stanley would cost and my room overlooked the lake.

This is a great place to stay with the family. Great amenities and great location. We had a wonderful time. If you have pets, they are welcome for a small fee!

The buildings are older. The resort has done a great job at coming up with a family oriented experience. Props on that. However, the cleaning staff only cleaned our room once between Saturday and Tuesday. They also never changed the bed or the bag for the ice. Also, they left dirty towels on the counter. For that dirty experience alone, I can't rate them higher than a 2.

Here is a wonderful place! Staffs are kind and competent. Location is pretty great. Particularly, the lake view room is a paradise. I will visit Estes Park again due to the Murphy's Resort.

Rooms were great, and service was fantastic as well! They also have complimentary board games, movies, and books, as well as an outdoor area for grilling and a bonfire, swimming, and outdoor games. The rooms are equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, hair dryer, and a coffee maker (with coffee and tea). The front office has a computer and a printer, as well as ice cream, some snacks, and complimentary popcorn. Complimentary breakfast is served from 7-10am. If you choose to stay there again, they offer a 10% discount. Loved the hotel and would definitely stay again!

Their policy states no refunds for any reason. Read to find out why. If this was a $69/night hotel, it would get a 3 star review, but it's most definitely not, especially for the prices they're asking. The only thing that appears to be updated from the 80's is the television. Rooms have adjoining doors with 1/2" gap at the floor — you can hear EVERYTHING coming from the next room. The shower head is about 4'8" off the floor and unusable for anyone over 5'. Not to mention the fact that when you can get water to come out, the pressure is so low it takes 10 minutes to rinse your hair. That's if you haven't scalded yourself and given up. The beds are so squishy, it's like you're on a water bed. Wifi is unusable —. 84Mb/s down,. 61Mb/s up. On my ATT cell phone, I got 6.8Mb/s down 4.4MB/s up. Absolutely ridiculous. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anybody. Whoever is posting all these 5 star reviews must have this confused with a different establishment.

My wife and I loved Murphy's Resort. They were able to get us in early and had our room ready and VERY clean. Very quick check in and massive selection of DVDs for a cozy day in when it snows. Stephanie was super nice, knowledgable, accommodating of our needs, and very welcoming. They had everything we needed and more. If you're questioning it, GO! You won't regret it, I promise.

My first time staying over night in Estes Park and it was a great experience! The check in was quick and simple and the staff was very friendly. They have a large selection of free DVD rentals right in the lobby, its a nice change to browse dvds instead of my Netflix feed. I will be staying here again next time I come to Estes.

Checked in was seamless and quick. We were able to get in right away and head to the park. The room was clean and comfy. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast but it looked like it had good options for those like a quick breakfast.

They were very helpful with my late check in, I let them know I'd be coming in late and they texted me a code to a lock box on the door. Very clean and nice room.

Perfect service and friendly staffs. Really refreshing and especially good for kids! Only cold breakfast is sorry.

We decided last minute to stay overnight a couple weeks ago& most places were booked. Called this resort&they were so awesome&friendly& had a room on the lake view! So clean&the breakfast was very good! We will be back in the fall. See ya then! *.

I was up in Estes park at a last minute thing 6/21/14 I called Murphy's resort and they where very help full and really respectful. Great price on a sweet. Nice area well kept up not ran down nice clean dinning room for breakfast it was awesome I will be back to Estes and be staying at this hotel thanks a bunch.
