Worst experience ever. The hotel does not have room cleaning service. My family and I returned back to our room after exploring the city all day on the second day, but no one came clean our room, and no one gave us new towels. I called the receptionist to ask for room service. However, the man told us that we needed to schedule the cleaning service for our room since it’s the updated policy during Covid time (they never noticed us this part when booking).
We don’t feel happy since the hotel’s policy doesn’t protect customers’ health. I ended up scheduling cleaning service for the next day at noon. But still, we get back to the hotel at night and no one cleaned our room. We kindly talked to the manager to figure the solution and let her know our disappointment towards the hotel service. She didn’t have any solutions and told us the hotel doesn’t have and housekeepers. They only have housemen who go around giving customers towels. I was wondering how can they guarantee the rooms are clean for the future customers after we left. The manager also has bad customer service and attitude since she said that was all she can do and looked away. please don’t go to this hotel. They offer cheap price online due to receiving bad reviews recently from customers (you can read those reviews online on Yelp, Booking. Com, Google)

First 4 hours here and we thank Allison for making our stay great and comfortable. Great hospitality and customer service. Our view is perfect and our room is clean.

Amazing hotel in every detail! Perfect to stay either on a short or long stay. The staff is really friendly and helpful in every moment. The rooms are clean and full with everything you need (the bed is incredibly comfortable), all with free Wi-Fi. The hotel has a bar, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a small gym, big conference rooms, valet parking, it also has a gift shop and a Starbucks! I’ll definitely come back if I have the chance!

There website said pet friendly but that was it. I get there and they wanted to charge me $75.00 for my pet to stay. That's almost the price of another night for a human. You cannot tell me it costs $75.00 to clean a room after we vacate. There were no ice machines on any of the floors 22 and up. Ashley was super nice when I called for ice, she sent some to my room but only after I was told it. Was on all the floors and I went to 5 different floors looking. The restraint was closed and they told me to order Uber Eats, so freaking expensive. Also, parking is not covered at all! Marriott charges 37.00 a night to park and public parking charges 20.00. The room was already expensive as hell and then with everything else added in I will not ever stay here again.

Very basic package in terms of amenities. Most services required additional fees. Staff were friendly and the hotel room was nice, though one of our lamps didn't work. Located in downtown which is nice, but parking can be difficult to access unless you pay $40 for a valet or $20 for overnight in a nearby parking garage. All in all for the cost if a Marriott I was expecting better and will probably try a different location next time.

We stayed for the World Science Fiction Convention. Usually, a large event like this causes stress and long lines at large hotels, however the staff here had that good old-fashioned Marriott hospitality, and kept everything going smoothly. The room was clean and comfortable, and service was great. By my standards, the hotel is ridiculously expensive, but, shockingly, for the area, it is competitive. Also, everything is a-la-carte. No complimentary breakfast, no free parking. They could use more elevators. On check-in day, there were crowds waiting to go up to the rooms. Otherwise, our stay was very comfortable.

GONZALO, He is at the front desk and was a very friendly and a helpful staff employee. This hotel is situated in downtown San Jose close to the convention center, the malls, great restaurants, great location. TESS, on the other hand, she works on the 26th floor for the gold plus members in the concierge lounge. She was so nice and friendly and you could tell she loves her job. The view from the 26 floor was wonderful I got great pictures of the city of San Jose. I WOULD go back.

Yesterday we were hungry and was told we can get a bite to eat at the Arcadia. What a huge disappointment! A real nightmare place to eat! Took forever to take our order and over an hour to get our food! Found out later, there was only one cook? Today, came back to our room, so the bed was made horribly and the bathroom was like I left it this morning — stands of my hair on the floor. If I had a broom I would sweep it! I don't think I would stay here again. Marriott needs to do a lot better for me to ever stay here again.

I stayed for 2 nights. They we're very pleasant. This is a very nice hotel. Staff was really professional and nice. Room was extremely clean and fairly modern. Would definitely stay again.

We ate at Arcadia restaurant Sunday morning for fathers day celebration. The good was fine but the service was so slow. The whole lunch took almost 2 hours. They were not even busy! Don't think we'll come back soon.

Absolutely terrible… made reservations March 1, 2018 and got an email on June 8, 2018 that there was a computer glitch and they cancelled the reservation for one of my rooms. We have already purchased airfare from Maine. I have tried calling customer service and been on hold for 2.5 hours and this is still not resolved. I was hung up on right after holding for 50 minutes one time and 35 minutes the next. The system glitch is they overbooked for October and must be keeping those reservations of the customers that paid the most. This is absolutely unacceptable as I have spent thousands on this trip and the two rooms have already been charged to my credit card for $4, 000. I will never do business with this company again and I suggest everyone else stay away too or your vacation may be ruined like ours. There is a huge event in the city during this time and no other hotels have rooms available… Beware…

I have been to the Marriott in San Jose twice, not to stay overnight but for professional events. The first thing I found strange was when I went to the bar Tanq and ordered a drink. Usually, you order a drink and the bartender serves it to you. If you give them your credit card, the bartender will ask if you would like to keep it open or close it out. But if you don't offer a card or payment, the bartender will just wait to see if you order more food or drink before asking for payment. The bartender asked me for a card right away, with an explanation that they need a card or a room number right away. I thought it was a policy I've never encountered before, but sure. (Also, I'm nearly 40 and the bartender asked me for my ID, which was a little strange. She didn't ask for ID from any other patrons that I could see that night). Even though I only had one drink, the bartender had put a "hold" on my card for about $50. Second thing is minor. None of the women's restrooms have hooks for coats or purses. I went into a restroom which was a single room, and had to stash my items on the sink, making sure none of it would fall in the sink. Then later, in another restroom in the hotel, I was in a stall and saw there were no hooks. I was at a loss. I had to put my coat over the stall door and try to balance my purse on the tiny stall lock. It's the little things that count and it's these little things that make me think this place is second-rate.

I only stay here once a year for Fanime. Their rooms are comfortable and they've got plenty of parking. Arcadia is just downstairs and it's a nice place to dine. A bit pricy but worth it. Ever since their remodel, there's more room for events which can get a bit crowded but it's to be expected. I do wish the valet area would be expanded though, as the line can back up and cause a lot of traffic time to time.

Stayed in the south tower, room was very comfortable and larger than expected. Full bathroom with a shower and tub. Stayed during a convention, so there was a lot of guests and late night party-goers, but the room walls are thick and the noise was not a problem.

Was in the Tanq bar during a trade show. Bar was not as nice as I thought. Drinks came fast but we had to ask for our appetizers multiple times. Also, the space was smaller than I thought. That said, prices were reasonable for the area and time. Plus, they had a special menu for the event and it was quite creative.

This hotel is in an extremely convenient location in downtown San Jose, near bars, restaurants, and connected to the convention center. The room wasn't huge, but was clean and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating of our requests during our stay.

I usually stay here when I'm in San Jose, but I have a lot of mixed feelings. The only parking option is valet, and it's expensive. The wait at check-in can be anywhere from no wait. To 20 minutes. I've had a couple bad experiences with being a Gold Elite here, and having to wait a ridiculous amount of time with other non-elite members being serviced before me. I don't mean to sound snobby, but I thought that was the whole point of elite status at Marriott — to get preferred/better service? The rooms are nice, I've had issues with the rooms once or twice and they're quick to move me. I'm a big fan of room service, there's no room service except for dinner, and it's not a very expansive menu. Arcadia downstairs is an incredibly fancy Michael Mina restaurant. The little corner store is one of the biggest ones I've seen in a hotel — they have Voss water, my favorite! It's located right next to the convention center, which is convenient if you need to attend a conference there. The fitness center doesn't have a ton of free weights, and for some reason always smells like cilantro to me, but hey, it's a gym and I make it work.

My main complaint would be before I even arrived. I called the hotel and was asking about parking for hotel guests and was told that we wouldn't be able to use the valet service. Luckily for us, we could and our experiences went up from there. To go over my other complaint, it would be that the elevators take a long time to come/get to where you need. Besides these, fairly minor issues, staying here has been really nice. Friendly staff, nice size room, comfortable bed, and valet parking. The lobby is beautiful, and connects to the convention center, so that is awesome.

Great accommodations. Incredibly friendly staff and tech friendly. Recently stayed and used the mobile key feature which worked seamlessly.

Or conference actually stays here every three years & this time the two complaints were; with three different conferences behind held there one of the elevators broke, which made it so tough for us to fully access their facilities. Plus, they need to regulate their water temperature as it's far too hot, scalding hot. Outside of those issues the hotel & staff are awesome.

Rooms were great, pretty standard for Marriotts. Loved the food at the steakhouse on site, but the staff here are truly 5-star. Everyone we interacted with went above and beyond. They made the stay extraordinary.

It's a standard hotel. Nothing about this place stands out in terms of quality or service. I've slept at better and I've slept at worse. The location is nice as it's walking distance to a lot of shops, restaurants, and a museum. The view isn't bad and the workers are nice. I Ubered from the airport so I have not interacted with their valet. There is a bar on the first floor accessible from the outside. Breakfast is not included with standard rooms.

Rooms are noisy (air conditioned) and old fashioned, wireless internet costs extra, food overpriced.

I love this hotel. The location ha easy access to the highway. Rooms are spacious and clean. Noise is kept at bay with good soundproofing and the sun can be blocked by double curtains. Starbucks on site and walking distance to a lot of dining and bars. Valet and overnight parking is expensive, but works well for downtown stays!

Attended a conference here on the Blossom Hill (3rd floor) level. Room was nice, good AV setup. Only real issue I had with the place was one of the sinks in the ladies room didn't work, and the toilets didn't really flush completely. Otherwise, the hotel catered lunch was delicious! Very comfortable environment.

A couple of complaints: the toilet (and fill line) is showing its age; making a shrill squealing sound every time the toilet is refilling with water. The sliding bathroom door is extremely difficult to close. No microwave in room. Parking is too expensive.

This is a poor excuse for a high end Marriott in a major city like San Jose. First dirty windows obstructing a beautiful 29th floor view of the city. The room itself is clean & the housekeeping staff is attentive, but the one chair in the room is uncomfortable & the floor lamp shade is broken. The bed is very soft but bedding is very nice. We have one more day here before we leave. And don’t get me started about the restaurant especially the front staff! Completely inefficient & unprofessional at every visit. In general the restaurant seemed unprepared for the influx of guest in the evenings. The wait is attentive & once the food came it was delicious. The restaurant bathrooms were neglected every time we visited.

We only stayed one night but our room was ready before we arrived. We grabbed or key and headed upstairs to the 19th floor. Elevator was waiting when we pushed the button. We had a king size bed and large clean bathroom. The city view was great. Bed was comfortable and pillows were plenty. I had asked for an extra blanket because my husband likes to turn the thermostat down low at night and I freeze, blanket was neatly folded at the end of the bed. Room was good size and easy to get around and spread out. Everyone was friendly. It was busy but valet had our car for us when needed with just a short wait. It was a great location, got us easily where we needed to be and easy to find off the highway.

The hotel was excellent. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were great. Everything was clean and updated. The location is incredibly convenient for the convention center because you can walk directly in without going outside. Would definitely recommend.

Staff was super friendly. There was a slight mix up in the room reservation, but they took the time to fix it and made us feel at home. Location is great if you are attending something in the convention center. Only issue is parking. There is no free parking. Your only choice is to valet park at the hotel, or pay for parking at the convention center. Plan accordingly. Over all it was a great experience.

Overall the stay was good. Room service was exceptional. Room was comfortable, nice amenities, etc. However; I am reviewing with 2 stars because I was charged for internet when I was explicitly told verbally and via a business card that I would NOT be charged. Was told that I could not be refunded the money because I had already checked out. Also the amount charged was higher than the listed amount on the business card. Will likely be avoiding the Marriott in San Jose if I ever return for a hotel who can keep their promises.

Disappointed this visit. The Restaurant was booked out for a private function so directed to the bar which had a very limited menu and felt like a 1980 discotech with the lighting and techno music. As I wanted a steak and a nice glass of wine at the end of my day I went elsewhere. Plus the new door key app wasn’t working again so up and down the elevator to get that fixed. Ended up with a key card as before. I’ve stayed many times and no doubt will again but this time it wasn’t a good visit.

Another example on how to do things right with Marriott. At this location, they seemed to hire the best friendly people to work. Everyone greets you and is extremely nice. The amenities were great, with free Wi-Fi a workout area and pool. Definitely a good spot to be in when you visit San Jose! Thanks Marriott!

They have Starbucks in the hotel with a food and beverage shop. Everything is Liempo, and the bar tank serve very fast.

We loved the stay here. From the front desk to the people working in the cafe we were treated well! Our stay was short (for my stepson's wedding) plus a few side trips, the service was great. Loved the rooms!

The event space is quite nice the rooms are clean and very spacious all of the electronic equipment worked. The lunch was subpar the selections for the chicken and salad were cold and the vegetables on the vegetarian option were rather Bland. Our organization uses this space each year I hope next year they will make better choices for the luncheon options. The staff is always very nice and helpful.

Nice hotel, walking distance to plenty of nice restaurants. Everything I asked for was accommodated for efficiently by the staff. For example, I needed to travel with some frozen breast milk, but checkout time was several hours before my conference ended. Staff helped me to put the cooler in their freezer and even topped off the ice for me just before I left. Those things were all helpful, but the fact that they handled it without being weird and awkward really made the difference.

The room is very nice. The air conditioner is quiet and the bed comfortable. The event we attended had food from the hotel and it was really good. The only ding I have to give is that Wi-Fi is not free unless you are in the lobby. I would have easily given five stars if it weren't for that.

The staff is extremely professional and always willing to help. The rooms have a very strange layout which makes it a welcome change from the everyday hotel.

Check in was easy. My room was nice. Everything is clean. Bed is comfortable. Room service was fast and friendly. Housekeeping did a great job. My only complaint is the water pressure is a little low in the shower and sink.

This review is for their meeting rooms. Have been here a couple of times for training and they've always been pleasant experiences. Property is new and modern, staff is attentive and friendly. The downside is valet parking only so when meetings adjourn, there's a line to get your car. I love the natural lighting the building gets!

This is a perfect location to stay for any convention in San Jose and it is walking distance to anything you want to get to in the downtown area. Connected directly to the convention center with a decent bar, good workout room (It's a hotel), and a nice pool. The rooms are nice and modern while the lobby is comfortable enough to hang out in without feeling like you're the center of attention. Overall, a nice place to stay in downtown San Jose.

Nice place with friendly and helpful staff, even during a busy event. Rooms are clean, beds comfy, and TV's have apps for streaming like Netflix and YouTube. The bathroom in ours was a little oddly designed, being in a corner it was basically a long narrow closet that needed more space, especially for what I believe is supposed to be an accessible room. Light switches were mysteriously absent in the entryway to the room as well, requiring a bit of reaching in the dark to find a lamp switch… Still, its a solid convention hotel, and we will probably visit again next year.

Had an amazing experience. Stayed for a wedding, great room, great service, nice view, clean, comfortable. However… No free Wi-Fi was a drawback.

The location was really close to the bars and restaurants. The room is pretty typical if you've stayed at Marriott before. You have 2 full size beds, a mini fridge, desk and Wi-Fi. I never felt like I had to wait long for the elevator. The only problem was the Wi-Fi. I attended a convention, and at peak attendance times, the Wi-Fi would have issues. T-Mobile data also had problems in some of the conference rooms on the 3rd floor. Hotel service was as expected and up to par.

The room was great and the staff were great. We came in early before noon and they didn't have any room available but they were great about getting a room for us as soon one was available. It didn't take too long. I would go here again.

What a well designed hotel! It feels like a piece of artwork in the middle of the city. I loved this location. Its right next to the park and has stunning views. My room was awesome. Artistic and comfy. Bath salts next to the tub was a pleasant surprise.

Beautiful, clean modern hotel with great service and nice rooms. Located downtown it is close to VTA and within walking distance to several eateries bars and coffee shops. The only knock is the odd valet parking. The parking driveway is not clearly marked and looks like your driving on the sidewalk as evidenced by the pedestrians who wouldn't get out of the way and gave us dirty looks-idiots.

The service at this hotel is top notch. Very accommodating, friendly, thoughtful staff make your stay frictionless on business and fun on downtime. Central location = nice walk to art museum, etc, too.

Words cannot describe this wonderful hotel. The level of service is impecable and they do it willingly. The rooms are well appointed and clean and the overall experience is one of the best I have experienced this year. I travel extensively and very few hotels leave an impression on me but the San Jose Marriott has definitely stood out. The only thing I can say is that I will be staying at this Marriott on my future trips to San Jose. Bravo to the team of this wonderful hotel.

Very nice hotel, in the heart of San Jose, Silicon Valley. The rooms and bathroom, are very spacious, with a view to "downtown". Note having enterprise customers because they have a table and a comfortable ergonomic chair to work. The internet is going to full speed. The staff, from reception, valets of car, shop, restaurant etc, are of the most pleasant that I found out there. A luxury to stay in this hotel.

I visited San Jose for the Rock and Roll 1/2 marathon that occurred this past weekend (10/3 — 10/5). I really had no problems with the room and hotel. However, the service here left a really bad taste in my mouth and I really would think twice before I would book another stay with this hotel. When we checked in — we were told parking was $31/nt with in and out privileges. $31 valet parking? What the deuce? Are they kidding me? And when we asked about a possible discount or if there were lots around. They told us there was nothing really nearby — and that we can park at the Convention center for $20/nt. It's "safe" with guards patrolling, etc. However, upon review of the area the next day, we found a $5/day enclosed garage that we were able to park over night and etc. Thanks for nothing, Marriott. Because the SJ rock n roll half doesn't start until 8 am. Unless I'm blitzing this race, I'd need and like a late checkout, especially if I wanted to enjoy the post race festivities. I asked upon check-in. The gentleman at the front desk straight out denied my request. However, when I asked the evening before checkout, I was granted a 2pm checkout time. What was the difference? SMH. However that was not the last straw. I really guess the third time is the charm. So when I got home and checked my statement.

Valet service was very good — the guys were very helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, not so much with the front desk — duds to say the least. Oh. Btw. U have to pay for 1985 technology Wi-Fi — freaking slower than 90 yr old grandmas running marathon.

Highly recommended restaurant in terms of price and quality.

Unbelievable service consistently throughout our stay! We even had a package delivered during our absence and whilst we were staying at another hotel in another city. When we came to pick up the package, they were gracious enough to allow us to remain in the lounge for 5hrs until our flight was due. Phenomenal staff and service and would highly recommend them.

The Hotel is nice. The Wi-Fi is problematic, the neighbors hear you speak and understand. Water pipe and also the traffic in 11. Floor good to hear. Across the aisle of an ice machine you will also run the whole night long listen.

Thanks to Diane White an employee at the San Jose Marriott our experience turned from not so good to great. There was a mess up with our room reservations and she was extremely helpful in finding a solution for us. Thanks Diane.
