Beautiful experience. Had a few small things such as ants in the room, which let’s face it, that can happen anywhere. As soon as I called the front desk, they immediately came and took care of it and that was dealt with easily. Beautiful view, was private and relaxing! Definitely going to come back.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with gorgeous views and the grounds are beautiful! The staff is amazing, helpful and the cleaning staff is so hardworking and wonderful! The homemade scones, coffee, OJ, and yogurt were so delicious and the wine and cheese hour is awesome! We will no longer stay at The Best Western on Ocean, which is also very nice with a great continental breakfast, but doesn’t compare with the amazing ocean views Sea and Sand offer! I highly recommend! Free parking right on the hotel premises is a huge seller!

Love the old school atmosphere and the views are amazing. Wine and cheese hour is back and we took advantage of that :). Would definitely come back for a weekend stay.

Amazing views and friendly staff.

Has my first stay here recently. Was a nice experience. I started in room 109 and would recommend cutting the tree down that blocks the beautiful view of the ocean from the patio. I also heard they used to have a wine hour but due to covid they do not have that any more. I would recommend a bottle on each room since prices haven't changed but amenities have. Maybe ask guests preference of red or white when booking. Just a thought. Otherwise you can't beat the beautiful views.

What a wonderful place to stay right on the beach. You can hear the waves at night. Great breakfast in the morning, cookies in the afternoon and wine & cheese in early evening… what more would you want. The staff is first class as well. Will stay here again when we come back to Santa Cruz.

Such a BEAUTIFUL Inn and so peaceful. We enjoy that it only had 22 rooms with lovely ocean view! well worth the price. We'll definately come back.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and great views of the ocean.

I would love to make another trip to this place but unfortunately we had a terrible experience. The property is amazing close to everything, amazing views and the staff was super polite. However we had 5-6 family's that all knew one another with multiple children (10-15) that would run the property unsupervised in the courtyard area as early as 6:30am and continued throughout the entire day. There is no AC so you have to leave the window open so for us, it was while listening… to doors slamming, kids screaming and running back and forth, running across the room above us, pretty much everywhere and even knocking on our door every morning. The parents continually drank and partied in the common areas as well. Security was even called on one of the parents on our second day. They left even trash everywhere. We WEREN’T able to enjoy the amenities such as breakfast, cookies or the wine and cheese or the courtyard area because we couldn't wait to leave for the day. When I complained on day 3 of our stay, the staff member was polite, apologized profusely and said she was aware and they were trying to keep it under control. She took my room number and said the manager would be in later that morning. We left again that day and didn’t return till late. No call from the manager/staff at all! The only call we received was the manager calling the next day to our room at 11:10am asking us if we were checking out.

Here for my husbands birthday weekend. The rooms are super clean. Staff is friendly. Fridge in the room is nice and the sound of the waves is magnificent.

This has been our go to place in Santa Cruz for 20+ years. This time it was not quite as good. I hope the new management (I am assuming that is the reason for the change) gets the message and brings back the Santa Cruz touches, like local excellent coffee, properly labeled.

We stay here every year, and we absolutely love it. The view is unbelievable. The rooms could be a bit cleaner, but the experience overall has always been amazing. It has a bed and breakfast feel. We highly recommend it.

Location is extremely convenient and provides great views of the ocean, wharf and boardwalk. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are mostly clean, although the bathrooms could use a little work. There's no air conditioning, which wouldn't be a big deal except for the fact that there can be a lot of noise with the windows open. Also, the access to the rooms passes directly in front of the large bedroom windows, so privacy is a bit of an issue.

Room is nice, a bit hot without AC in July, but they provide a nice little fan. The front window is right next to the walkway though which can be noisey. There was a stain on the mattress edge which concerned us at first but they told us it was a stain from a previous guests hot chocolate. The problem is the fitted sheet doesn't quite cover the edge of the bed. You will find the usual light amounts of mold in the bathroom you find at all hotels. The included parking is wonderful because parking is scarce nearby. Haven't tried the breakfast or wine & cheese/lemonade & cookies.

So as a frequent traveler I am always skeptical of one off hotels near the ocean. Usually worn out beds, outdated, and worst of all filthy. I just spent 2 nights in one of the private cottages and it was spotless, every bed including the fold out couches were of excellent quality and no dips. The hot tub on the private ocean front patio was spotless. Honestly one of my new favorite spots. Definitely recommend to all when in Santa Cruz.

We love this place and have been coming back for years! Its right on a bluff overlooking the ocean, boardwalk and pier.

Stayed in the same suite years ago and the quality has gone down. For what we paid a night they could keep better maintenance of the place. The room was not cleaned very well. We found a packet of chicken in the sofa, diaper and headband from last guest staying there and a latex glove in the bathroom drawer under the towels. The private Jacuzzi was cloudy and took forever to heat. Upon leaving we found that stuff was taken from our vehicle. The breakfast consisted of bagels, muffins, scones, cut up fruit, hardboiled eggs and beverages. No hot food at all.

This was such a great experience, the view is magnificent, the weather was great and its a wonderful place to have a wedding. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff treat you like family but the best part is hearing the waves crashing, such a beautiful sound. To all the staff and management, thank you for a great experience.

Don't be fooled by the exterior, the interior is modern and the view is spectacular! The staff is helpful, friendly, and courteous.

Right on the beach, really good rooms and close to everything. There was some road noise but it was balanced out by being able to hear the ocean from the room. Great value.

Fantastic spot for our long awaited weekend hetaway. Was a little disappointed there's no direct beach access and the hottub in our room was just a bathtub and not jetted.

Sea and Sand inn is a wonderful hotel in Santa Cruz right on the water and within walking distance of so many great spots!

This place is sooo cozy, great location and staff is good and helpful. We stayed in the delux suite with the double Jacuzzi. The room is cozy and roomy. We loved the balcony and the fire place in the room. We got up early to see the sunrise which was amazing. We left our balcony door open all night to hear the waves on the beach. We were lucky to see dolphins swimming close to shore from our balcony in the morning I definitely recommend to everyone. Until next time! We are spoiled now. Happy returning customers.

The first stop of our honeymoon was the Sea & Sand Inn. This was the first time I had ever checked into a hotel without my parents so I honestly had no idea what to expect. Check in was incredibly fast and easy. The staff was super nice and easy to work with. After a minor complication with a broken blind in our room we got an upgrade to room 111, I love room 111. Breakfast was delicious, the fruit was fresh and the coffee was good. My only complaint the entire time was the lack of A/C, which, as a hefty fella, seemed significant. However, the view. Locationally we couldn't have picked a better hotel for the price. It's a short walk to everything. Santa Cruz is a beauty and I would return to the Sea & Sand Inn everytime.

I love this Inn! 6 star I would say. Had a great time. The room very clean, bathroom extremely clean. This has been my 4th time staying and I will stay again. Oh customer service was excellent. Thank you Sea and Sand Inn!

First of all it had an amazing view. It's why I stayed there. Complimentary wine Happy hour was great. Free breakfast meet my expectations. Clean. Friendly 24 hour front desk.

Nice hotel and great location, within walking to pier and restaraunts. Only drawback is the idiot motor cycles and loud cars on street. Clean and comfortable though.

The view and location are the best parts of Sea and Sand Inn. The room was one of the CLEANEST of any hotel I've stayed in for at least a decade. The staff is very gracious and friendly. For the price, a number of amenities are missing: robes, feather pillows, high-quality linens. The large in-room tub was interesting. I may stay again, but only if a lower rate ($390) is available.

The Sea and Sand Inn has been our traditional family go to for many years. We've celebrated birthdays, graduations, and more. The rooms have upgraded over the years, the morning breakfast and wine and cheese in the afternoon never disappoint. The staff is friendly and caring. And the views are phenomenal. We'll be back for years to come.

Right on the water and near everything… Loved it here. Rooms are small but cute and comfy. Fireplace on the wall is a really nice touch. Peaceful in spite of local traffic… Parking is tight but staff will help if you can't find a spot. Would stay here again. Great value for the area.

Great view, central location, can order Woodstock pizza right to your door, kind staff, awesome wine and cheese hour and nice rooms. Def recommend you stay here when visiting SC. Not too mention walking distance to surf at Steamer Lane or Crowells!

My wife and I loved our short stay at the Sea and Sand. The room was very clean and staff very polite. We enjoyed the evening wine and cheese and the morning light breakfast. The room was very quiet except for the barking seals off under the pier, but that was very California and cherish those moments now.

Warning! Read all the way to the end. I adore this place. My Grandparents came here. I've been coming here for almost 20 years. This last visit… AMAZING! Then I saw my bank account. Not only had they charged me for the room, they also sent a charge to the bank for holding the room. I was charged for 3 nights, but only stayed 2. When I called to fix it, all I got was the run a round. Hopefully it wiil get solved. I want to return again next year. Its up to them.

Amazing view of the bay. Rooms are cozy and comfortable. Bathrooms have sliding doors, so be sure you're comfortable with who you are staying with. Highly recommend and we'll be back again.

I wish the staff were respectful and friendly. We would have given them our business. The location is perfect and the property looks very beautiful. Prices are high but reasonable. But either the manager or the front desk lady was rude as ever and very disrespectful. She acted like she didnt want to help answer any questions and that's NOT the way you treat potential guests…

Never EVERY smoked in room! They tried to charge an extra hundred bucks saying we did then we are still after an hour still in the lobby apparently waiting and wasting our day still waiting to contest with the manager. Very unhelpful staff, rude, continental breakfast is not what hotel description says. This is a place is a SCAM.

A beautiful little hotel. It has an amazing view, nice functional decoration, and is very clean. I stayed in the smallest queen room and although space was limited I found I had everything I needed. I enjoyed the free wine and cheese hour and having the waves right out your window can't be beat. Friendly staff and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly fast. Electric simulated fireplace grew on me the more I used it.

Spent just one night here in an upstairs King Luxury Spa Room. Lovely room, comfy bed, delicious breakfast scones, magnificent view! Update: Just called to make a new reservation for February and learned that if you want to reserve a specific room, you're out of luck. You can reserve a room type, but if there is more than one of the same type, you can't choose which room you'll get. Neither of the two King Luxury Spa Rooms was available; just wanted to be assured an upstairs King room, but no dice. )

Never been to this hotel. We rode in with some other couples on Harleys. What a great experience. We only stayed one day but the next trip we will stay longer that's for sure. Very clean and comfy. The bed was one of the best. Had a first floor with a patio. Walking distance to everything. Love Loved it. cya soon.

The new renovated rooms are beautiful and the beds are confortable. It's in a very nice location, walking distance to either the wharf, to the boardwalk or even to downtown Santa Cruz. Local people are nice too. This place is perfect for when you just want to spend a peaceful quality time for you. I continue coming here because it brings me very nice memories with my belated husband. Glad to recommend this place to the world.

Wonderful hotel, beautiful views! Within quick walking distance to the boardwalk, warf, and main beach. They have good breakfast. I didn't think it could get any better until the new renovations and it did! We have gone 4years in a row now and will continue to go for many years.

Incredible hospitality thanks Caryn! Cozy remodeled rooms with gorgeous ocean views, well kept and clean, short walk to boardwalk. Only thing missing is a soaker tub but nothing to complain about, you can't beat the bang for your buck. I have found my spot for every stay in Santa Cruz.

We have been going to Santa Cruz a long time and have been staying in this inn for four years now. It is so clean and the staff is so nice. Its nice that it is in walking distance from the boardwalk, wharf, and the surfing history museum. Oh and don't forget a lovely view of the beach.

I had my parents stay here when they came to visit us for a week, and they very much liked the place. The views were incredible, the distance from the wharf and boardwalk was just about perfect for them, and the suite was very nice. The only downside is that the sliding doors on the bathroom was very heavy, and when we reported that, we only got a 'yes, they are heavy' sort of response instead of a 'we'll find a way to make that work for you' response. They'd stay there again, though, and so would I — — although if I had the time I'd probably pester them about making the doors more manageable.
