Noisy and no hot water after 9:30.

Housekeeping leaves at 3 in the afternoon so, if you check in late as I did you have to get up early to get bathroom freshened up. Also the Saturday continental breakfast but sunday they put the food on early and just let it sit so eggs etc are hard. For the price I expected more.

Unhelpful management, thefts in the parking lot.

Very fancy and comfortable place. The customer service is excellent.

Check in was easy, very helpful and the guy was very polite.

The front desk staff was very informative, kind, and helped us book a room on the spot for a really good price! The room has comfy beds and are very clean compared to other hotels in the area. It's also located next to a lot of good restaurants within walking distant. Definitely would suggest the Holiday Inn Express & Suites to others for their Santa Cruz stay.

No scenic views out of the windows. Other than that, everything was nice. Rooms are nice and cozy. Complete complementary breakfast was good. There is a heated outdoor pool too. 5-7mins drive to the beach.

Location is right off the highway and very easy to get to, with lots of parking in the underground garage. The staff has all been very nice. The rooms are good with comfy beds and pillows. The breakfast is classic HIE but kept fresh and well replenished.

Great room, even better bed and pillows. Never had a better sleep. Breakfast bar stocked with nice goodies. Within short drive from Santa Cruz beach boardwalk.

Came from Washington state booked online requested online an earlier check in. Drove all the way got in at about 12:00 p. M. Went to the hotel they took our number and said they would call when room was ready. They never called one way or the other. Spent 3 more hours in the car just to pass the time. A call to let us know the room would not he ready till three would have been nice of them. Or an email stating early check in was not available. For the price of the room would of thought they would cater to us as we did not just get a standard room. So next time we will be staying in one of the nicer hotels that cater to there clientele. As of now I can only give them the 3 stars.

The room was perfect for the price. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was nice. It is a couple minutes from the shore, downtown and the boardwalk. I had a really fun time there.

Great location from SZ Boardwalk… less than 2 miles away. The pool is heated, needs more parking in both garages… and the complimentary breakfast was good! But I tho it was over priced!

This Holiday Inn seems like it's brand new. It's super clean and super comfortable. If you are looking for a place to stay in Santa Cruz this is it. Stay here. We loved it and slept very good.

Hotel is nice, the rooms are clean and neat, parking is underground I'm well suited for normal vehicles. There is no parking accommodations for oversized Vehicles such as RVs for trucks with campers. The location is several blocks from the The Wharf. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here recently with my roller derby team. The place was very clean. The staff was incredible and accommodating. Breakfast was also great. They even were flexible about a late checkout. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Location is wonderful! There are so many great places within walking distance. I heard a bit of the road noise, but I slept great. The shower is the best I've ever had at a hotel. The bed is great. I would stay here again!

We arrived at check in and got ourselves a room for the night. We were happy with the room itself. Clean, good size. However we were woken several times during the night by doors slamming, at one point it sounded like someone was trying to enter our room, it was someone knocking on the room next door at 3am instead. Breakfast in the morning was disappointing, the pancake maker was broken and the breakfast space was very busy with other guests (which seeing as it was fully booked, not unsurprising) but what shocked us was that the plates and cutlery were disposable, this was unacceptable given the price paid for the room and was not unline with standards of other hotels in the chain that we have previously visited. We mentioned the slamming of doors and being woken in the night to reception staff on check out.

Great continental breakfast. No way to get required dollar bills for vending machine unless you have it. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Parking is $7.00

Very quick check in and check out. They helped me make quick upgrades over the phone. Comfy bedding and sheets. Good hot breakfast. It was our first staying overnight in Santa Cruz and we were glad to had next to the hotel Dunkin Donuts and grilled hamburgers and a 711 store in front. A lot of parking space when you pat $7 pet day.

I stayed in a single king bed guest room and it was perfect. Simple, cute, clean. The bathroom was amazing. The staff was very friendly. If I come back I'm definitely staying here again.

Decent hotel with a good location but some issues. The parking spots are ridiculously tight — can be a real challenge to park anything other than a tiny car. Staff didn't tell me they charged for parking and refused to remove the charges. Just be honest about it.

Anytime I can I swing through and stay here! It's always clean and modern updates like USB clocks. Friendly and helpful staff if you have a question about the area or for something to do.

This is my favorite place to stay in the area. The pricing is fair and the amenities they offer aren't just fluff. The Wi-Fi works well and the free breakfast they offer is pretty good with plenty of choices including fresh fruit, yogurt and pancakes. The rooms are well appointed and quiet. I heard the occasional door slam from the hall but I could not hear any of the other lodgers at night. Each room has a fridge, microwave and Keurig so feel free to bring your own pods.

Nice, clean and quiet. Most the hotel's in santa cruz are run down but this one seemed to be pretty kept up.

Staff is friendly and very professional. Low rate I'd for the room and parking. Tiny on site parking spots. If you have a big vehicle good luck in the under ground parking. Room was noisy all day and night. Morning shower I was able to enjoy a cold shower as the hot water was out!

The location is situated about a mile away from the beach and close to the highway so it's not a bad location. The rooms are okay the TV could be nicer. Only bad part of my stay was the sink in the restroom being clogged all night. I was offered another room but that room smelled like urine. I ended up borrowing a plunger from the concierge so I could unclog the sink.

We stay here every year the weekend after Labor Day weekend. We attended the Art and Wine Festival in Capitola. Great accommodations with complementary hot breakfast every morning. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, and out door pool. Reasonable prices also.

Check in was fast, I loved their customer service. Place is pretty cleaned! Did not see any bugs at all. Rating stops at 4 stars. Even though their breakfast is really good, I wish they would've changed their menu a little bit. We stayed there for 4 nights and felt like it was the same thing over and over. Also, please fix the parking. Everywhere I went, it was really compact and could not park where I wanted, it was just a little difficult to find parking. Overall, would definitely consider staying here again!

We were expecting more. The front counter staff were friendly enough bit the hotel just wasn't anything to be wowed by. No clear signage for car parking on top of the $7 fee for the pleasure of parking on site. The room felt outdated and… dull and tired. The power point on the wall was loose and felt dangerous. The doors slam so when someone arrives or leaves in the hotel you'll know about it. Staff having dinner at the table in the foyer of the hotel was an interesting look. One of the staff serving on our checkout very clearly had a head cold, sneezing and coughing while on the phone — unsure what occupational health and safety standards there are but it seems unfortunate if your staff make a guest sick? We advised our stay was one of the hotels of many along our honeymoon getaway. We asked for a great room if possible and happy to pay more. We were met with no king bed as requested and a really great romantic view as seen below. All on all, it's not a 5 star hotel but it would be nice if it felt they tried.

It was a nice hotel. It looked nice, the staff was nice, the complimentary breakfast had a lot of options, and was better than many of the competitors. The room was as you would expect, nice. Nothing was amazing, but nothing was terrible. I was given a king suite, it was a firm mattress, I prefer softer but the pillows were soft. There was a microwave and a small fridge. I had to unplug the fridge, I found the cycling to be annoying but I'm a light sleeper. They have an underground parking garage if you need it.

The location is perfectly situated right before downtown coming into Day ta Cruz from either HWY 101 or 17. It was ideal as I was coming from Mountain View and my family came from the Fresno area. It's only about 1 1/2 miles to the beach and Natural Bridges State each is easy to get to as well. The staff was over and above courteous and accomadating on both occasion that we've stayed there. We usually stay at Holiday Inn wherever we travel and this one is exceptional!

This is odd, Google Opinion Rewards forced this unpaid survey into the mix, asks if I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express, and then has the nerve to require a check in and review of the hotel stay. The hotel was adequate for our needs, a bit overpriced because of its location in Santa Cruz, but has only middle of the road amenities,

They were very nice. Very accommodating of the previous agreed upon price. The parking lot structure was a little hard to manveur but the service seemed well. Arrived in morning and saw that there were people enjoying breakfast, seemed pleasant.

Nice hotel for the price. Clean, good breakfast, updated. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a nice inexpensive hotel.

Holiday Inn Express Santa Cruz is a great hotel for business as well as leisure travel. It is located close to I1, however the traffic noise is not disturbing. Downtown SC and the boardwalk are only a few minutes away. Rooms are tidy and clean, beds are comfortable. Check In was easy, the service at breakfast is great. There is parking space at a low fee available. All in all it is a nice place to stay and quite likely not the last time I stayed here.
